• To raise the profile of Weston Park Cancer Charity by generating regular, high profile coverage; conveying the impact and breadth of our work.

• To provide the marketing team with administrative support in terms of management of the marketing inbox, social media channels and development and collation of marketing materials.

What you do

Marketing  

· Assist in creating and delivering impactful marketing and communication materials, to engage both our online and offline audiences.

· Keep the website up-to-date; updating news, editorial and creative digital content including text, images and multimedia.

· Create compelling and engaging content for social media channels, website and other publications.

· Develop and execute email marketing campaigns, manage performance reporting, and recommend improvements and growth opportunities.

· Support photography and video requests to create in house or externally sourced engaging content.

· Assist service users and fundraisers with the development of user generated content including blogs, vlogs, podcasts and films.

· Use analytical tools to report on digital performance for web, email and social media.

· Support our online advertising including but not limited to; google ad

words and meta advertising.

· Ensure marketing collateral is kept up to date including print distribution.

· Prepare marketing briefs and liaise with external design agencies.

· Liaise with suppliers to source quotes and place orders.

Communications

· Monitor online communications and engage with audience conversations, when appropriate.

· Maintain a database of photos and case studies to promote our work.

· Support the delivery of high quality events and campaigns.

· Source, design and print branded materials as required.

· Write, edit and proof copy for campaigns, marketing materials, social media and our website.

· Produce case studies with a clear narrative which align with the overall charity strategy.

· Provide administrative communication support and production of digital marketing materials.

· Monitor media stories, press cuttings and report accordingly.

· Monitor relevant news stories and produce regular round ups to inform media planning and share with staff.

General

· Ensure databases are kept up to date.

· Provide copywriting and editing support across all internal and external communications to maintain consistent tone, style and messaging.

· Undertake any other duties as the organisation may reasonably require.

· To support the implementation of the charity’s brand strategy and act as a brand champion.

· Able to work some out of hours including attending events, attending some early/late meetings and monitoring social media.

· Comply with all Weston Park Cancer Charity’s policies and procedures including confidentiality, privacy and data protection.

· Promote the Guiding Principles and objectives of Weston Park Cancer Charity.

The role 

We’re seeking a Research Officer to join our fantastic Research team following an internal promotion with the team. 

• You will be ensuring that the management of funding rounds is robust, coordinated, and delivered to the highest possible quality, and that the funding rounds we offer address key needs of the research and patient community. 

• You will be responsible for corresponding with applicants, award holders and committee members to organise key events in the grant funding process. 

• You will be liaising with researchers and people with lived experience to coordinate meaningful internal and external public and patient involvement (PPI) through our Research Involvement Network. 

About You  

• You will need sound knowledge of research principles and the UK research funding environment. 

• Experience of working in a scientific or clinical research context with an undergraduate degree, preferably with a biomedical focus. 

• An understanding of patient and public involvement and how to converse with people with lived experience. 

• An ability to coordinate working with many large and diverse specialist stakeholder groups.

Background to School Food Matters

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.

Healthy Zones programme

Healthy Zones supports primary, secondary and special schools to create a food environment that puts young people's health centre stage. We are working with schools to develop food policies and to improve the food served in their breakfast and after school clubs. The programme uses a whole school approach through hands-on engagement with students, staff, kitchen teams, governors and parents.

Job Purpose

· To promote, develop and deliver the Healthy Zones programme across schools in Southwark and Lambeth

· Support with the expansion of the Healthy Zones programme across other regions in England

Key Tasks include:

•  Recruit schools to take part in Healthy Zones
• Complete food audits in schools looking across the whole school day (training provided)
• Develop and deliver healthy after school club and breakfast club modules (convene working groups in schools, run simple food preparation engagement sessions (training provided), empower student voice, build relationships with the after-school club staff)
• Develop food policy improvements in schools in our six key areas by building relationships with staff, and engaging students, parents and governors
• Build relationships and work closely / maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants, cooks and senior leaders in primary and secondary schools in Lambeth and Southwark to improve the food they offer their students
• Build and support relationships with contacts in partner organisations/LAs, and deliver training where necessary
• Collecting data and maintaining accurate records relating to the programme in Airtable
• Work closely with our Evaluation Manager to complete all monitoring and evaluation

The Centre for Justice Innovation seeks to build a justice system which all of its citizens believe is fair and effective. We provide hands on support to front-line practitioners, conduct research into how things work, and could work better, and promote evidence-based policy solutions.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic intern to support the work of the Centre’s policy and communication team. The position is full-time for a fixed period of four months starting in September 2024 and pays the London Living Wage. Travel costs will also be reimbursed.

You will primarily be working with the Policy Officer to grow our public affairs and parliamentary work in the wake of the general election. This will involve mapping and building contact lists of key parliamentarians and policymakers, and supporting the outreach to these stakeholders, for example by helping us draft letters and organise policy events. You will be the Centre’s eyes and ears in Westminster, and monitor relevant parliamentary business, such as justice select committee hearings, parliamentary debates and All Party Parliamentary Group meetings, to identify and share with the team policy trends and organisational opportunities.

You will also help our Communications Officer to increase the reach and impact of the Centre’s work, for example by expanding our promotional mailing lists of organisations working in academia, the third sector and journalists, and building up the Centre’s image library. There will be opportunities to contribute to the Centre’s blog series, which promotes our recent reports and events, interviews front-line practitioners and analyses policy developments that impact our work.

The position will also involve supporting the Centre’s work more generally, for example by helping to design and organise events for a range of audiences, such as the Expert Voice webinar series, and conducting desk based research to enhance the teams’ knowledge on specific topics, such as the use of civil orders for anti-social behaviour and knife crime.

You’ll bring experience of managing teams to perform at their best, understand the health and care landscape and the levers of influence. You might not have charity Chief Executive experience, but you’ll have experience of reporting to Boards, managing people, projects, and budgets. 

You’ll be skilled at developing and maintaining partnerships and have experience of working with volunteers. You’ll have a passion for person-centred support and inclusion for the people of Islington, and you’ll be able to influence local providers and commissioners with residents at the heart of these negotiations.

The International Programme Officer will report to our Global Operations Director and will work closely with personnel and partners in different countries where WW supports development programmes, to ensure the work we support is aligned with WW’s strategy, and that the delivery of our work has impact, is on track and is in line with donor agreements and budgets. 

Specific responsibilities will include:

1. Programme coordination, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning

• Support organisational and programme planning, ensuring alignment with agreed delivery targets, outputs and outcomes.

• Support partners to ensure MEAL systems are effective in tracking, supporting and learning from delivery of workplans.

• Monitor financial and material resources relevant to project needs, flagging any concerns to the line manager and UK Director of Corporate Services.

• Champion learning, supporting teams and partners to analyse, package and deliver learning internally and externally for advocacy and communications, focused on driving system change at scale.

• Proactively seize opportunities and troubleshoot problems that arise in the course of the work. Deliver proactive management interventions that keep work on track and maximise impact.

• Ensure social inclusion, where the needs of vulnerable people are clearly heard and acted upon, is at the heart of our work.

• Support effective communication across and with the UK team, and partners in other countries. 

2. Technical delivery and quality assurance

• Provide technical advice and support partners with delivery, investigations and assessments.

• Identify or co-develop appropriate methods and guidance to support delivery of key tasks within the programmes.

• Liaise both diplomatically and effectively with stakeholders. 

• Ensure quality documentation and record keeping.

• Support country teams to undertake desk studies and literature reviews and produce and issue background reports.

• Support organisational capacity building and training of partners, including compliance with internal policies and best practice.

3. Documentation, learning and advocacy

• Mentor and support teams to collate, analyse and synthesise knowledge generated.

• Mentor and support teams in documentation, including writing and reviewing high quality, timely reports programme reports that respond to donor requirements and illustrate impact.

• Develop, co-author and disseminate knowledge products, including case studies, training modules, and guidance materials in support of programmes, liaising with the Director of Public and Political Engagement.

• Support our partners to develop powerful evidence-based stories and narratives to engage media, specific targeted groups, our wider networks and new audiences, including press, multi-media and website content.

• Coordinate and support the effective use of Information and Communications Technology across teams.

• Identify opportunities to increase programme visibility and raise the organization’s profile by disseminating results within and beyond the development community and water sector, liaising with the Director of Public and Political Engagement.

4. Organisational development

• Represent Water Witness and the interests of its stakeholders at local and international meetings as required, and develop strategic relationships with partners.

• Contribute to the strategic development of the organisation including through supporting the development or support of funding proposals, bids and efficient back office support and management.

• Provide advice, support to the Director, Senior Leadership Team, team, partners and the Board of Trustees.

• Help secure and deliver consulting and other work assignments globally as required.

Global Partners Digital is recruiting for two Lead positions within its policy and advocacy teams (functions). This is an exciting opportunity for experienced individuals to be at the forefront of GPD’s work to shape digital tech governance processes and policies so that they are inclusive and rights-respecting. 

Position 1 will have a policy focus across GPD’s thematic areas (Trust and Security, Platform and Content Governance, New and Emerging Tech, and Internet Governance) and will involve research, advocacy, engagement on these issues in key digital tech governance processes, including UN processes. 

Position 2 will have an Internet governance focus with specific expertise on technical standards and protocols and will involve advocacy and engagement in technical standard setting bodies including the International Telecommunications Union (ITU); Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), as well as other Internet governance relevant forums. 

Both positions will require relevant subject expertise, as well as knowledge of the digital policy ecosystem, and experience doing advocacy and/or engaging relevant stakeholders networks. We recognise, however, that candidates will be stronger in some areas than others and successful candidates will be placed in the most appropriate team (Function) for their skills and expertise.

Your main role will be across the research grant schemes, contributing to programme activities according to the Academy’s business need. We are looking for someone who can run both efficient application and selection processes for grant schemes and help build and maintain engagement with a community of awardees. You will play an important role in making sure that grant recipients have a strong, beneficial relationship with the Academy, and each other.

Location

Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline for office-based working of a mandatory weekly team day plus further days each week as required for the role and the Academy.

Are you looking for an empowering role that truly impacts lives? We are looking for a committed and highly motivated CEO who is confident and excited about leading a small ambitious national Charity which povides support to PKD patients, their carers and renal clinicians in the UK.

In recent years the PKD Charity UK has expanded its funding of supporting our Community with a world class support service and innovative research through its own fundraising efforts and by leveraging strategic partnerships. We are now launching a consortium with key partners which will further enhance our ability to support groundbreaking research which may one day lead to genuine disease modifying treatments for PKD.

Our organisation is supported by a dedicated team of staff and trustees including several patients with PKD and individuals with family members affected by PKD. The job opening sadly results from unexpected passing of our former CEO who led the organisation with distinction for the last 12 years. Currently, we are operating under an interim management arrangement. 

You will be driven by a desire to work with our team, partners and trustees to ensure the success of the charity and by communicating the level of activity and successful leveraging of resources into addressing PKD.

The role is primarily remote with a requirement to travel to events and meetings mainly in the UK with occasional travel throughout Europe and other regions.

As the CEO, you will be responsible for:

• Strategic Leadership: Providing visionary leadership and direction for the charity.
• Team Management: Motivating and leading the staff to achieve our mission.
• Representation: Acting as the primary spokesperson for PKD Charity UK to supporters, healthcare professionals, and partner organisations.
• Support Services: Ensuring the delivery of our world-class support services.
• Research Leadership: Leading and proactively involving yourself in our research initiatives.
• Patient Involvement: Ensuring first-class patient involvement in our research programmes.
• Networking: Liaising with and representing our charity within European and worldwide rare disease partner networks.

Qualifications:

• Proven leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of medical research and patient advocacy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships.
• Experience in strategic planning and financial management.

We are flexible in considering part time working options from 3 days a week to full time for this role with salary pro rated. 

About the PKD Charity.

Founded in 2000, we’re the first and only UK charity solely dedicated to improving the lives of an estimated 70,000 individuals and their families affected by polycystic kidney disease (PKD) in the UK.

PKD is a range of life-threatening inherited conditions that can cause kidney failure and affect other organs in the body such as the liver, brain, heart and bowels. Most people with PKD live with an uncertain prognosis, intermittent pain and infections, and then have to undergo life-saving dialysis or transplant in their 50s. A few babies have a rare form of PKD which results in death during pregnancy or shortly after birth; surviving children often have to have either a kidney or liver transplant before the age of 10.

We provide reliable, accredited information, advice and personalised support. We raise awareness of the burden of PKD, both clinical and psychosocial. We fund research aimed at understanding more about PKD and the discovery of therapies that will improve quality and longevity of life.
