Rape Crisis England & Wales is the feminist charity working to end sexual violence and abuse across
England and Wales, and is responsible for leading on the 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line, a
telephone and webchat support service covering England and Wales. This role is focussed on supporting
the smooth running of the 24/7 Support Line and ensuring we are delivering the best possible service for
survivors of sexual violence.

Job summary 

We're looking for an ambitious and talented Head of Public Fundraising join our team. As a member of the extended leadership team, you'll inspire and lead a talented team of fundraisers committed to growing income from community, events fundraising and individual giving (including legacies). A highly motivated, creative team player with a strong track record of success, you'll support our fantastic public fundraising team to take these vital income areas to the next level and beyond. 

You’ll have a solid understanding and experience of one or more public fundraising income areas, be adept at identifying and creating opportunities for income growth and be able to communicate with a wide range of audiences, organisations and stakeholders — internally and externally. An understanding of health and medical causes would be beneficial but certainly not essential. We’re very happy to support the career development of somebody stepping up into their first ‘head of’ role and will also consider applications from someone who is already in a Head of role seeking to increase their remit across a greater number of fundraising areas. Most importantly, however, is your understanding of public fundraising alongside your passion to support the charity to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

Mind's Partnerships Fundraising team - part of the wider fundraising directorate - is responsible for generating income from major donors, charitable trusts and foundations, the statutory and corporate sectors. The Corporate Partnerships team raised £7m+ in 22/23.

The New Corporate Partnerships team is comprised of a head of team, two lead managers, two senior officers, two officers and one assistant.

The New Corporate Partnerships team has been at the forefront of securing some fantastic partnerships for Mind such as, Allianz, Bupa, Co-op, Direct Line, ITV, McLaren Racing, and McVitie's, to name a few. Our partnerships cover the spectrum of partnership types; strategic and Charity of the Year partnerships (COTYs) and brand and commercial partnerships. You will help us build on our success.

In these unprecedented and challenging times, Mind is and will be needed more than ever. Our corporate partnerships play a huge role by helping us, raise income to achieve our strategic goals and adding value to businesses and society through our partnerships, including raising public awareness and reaching new audiences.

Mind employs over 300 staff and we have a team of volunteers. Most staff are based in Stratford, London, there is an office in Cardiff and there are a number of dispersed staff working across England and Wales. Mind is formally moving to a hybrid working model combining a balance of home and office based working.

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

-Support your line manager to implement the Corporate Partnerships team New Partnerships strategy.

-Support pipeline development and creation of partnerships, including making proactive approaches, developing and stewarding relationships, submitting proposals, supporting on pitches, while working with various teams across Mind.

-Have an individual financial target which will support the overall New Partnership income targets.

-Work collaboratively and creatively with the team and across Mind to develop sector leading pitches and proposals.

-Lead and assist with the design of new partnership agreements with companies to ensure that expectations from both parties are met and the interests of Mind are looked after, and risks are mitigated.

-Work with colleagues across Mind to identify the potential and manage the risk in new partnerships, ensuring that Mind's ethical policy and charity legislation is adhered to.

-Work closely with Partnership Management to join up across Partnerships

-Identify and work with your line manager to identify opportunities and manage risk in new partnerships and to ensure that Mind's ethical policy is adhered to.

-Monitor, analyse and review information on industry trends and developments, keeping the pipeline of COTY applications updated.

-Liaise with other Mind departments, Mind Retail, Mind Cymru and local Minds to maximise potential of corporate partnerships to reap benefits for Mind's entire network, including through volunteering and pro bono support.

-Work closely with internal teams across Mind Workplace Wellbeing, Training, Index, Community & Events, Comms and Media teams to ensure that opportunities and employee fundraising opportunities are smoothly co-ordinated and incorporated into pitches and that companies are given the support they need, as required.

-Represent the Partnerships team in appropriate cross working groups, workshops and/or meetings/other events as directed.

-Use the Dynamics database to enter, update and extract accurate information to maximise operational benefits and opportunities from the database system.

-Undertake other duties that may, from time to time, be necessary and compatible with the nature and grade of this post.

The Head of Urban Transformation role leads campaigns delivery and development work across Possible’s ‘getting around’ strategic focus area, continuing our groundbreaking work on campaigning for traffic reduction and sustainable transport across the UK. 

This currently includes delivery of the multi-year Get Shady project - swapping cars for trees on London’s hottest streets - and oversight of further work across urban greening, parklets and sustainable urban transport. In the future, this could include other campaigns.

With the support of the co-directors, you will be managing an annual Get Shady budget of hundreds of thousands of pounds, and a team of at least two staff members, alongside key relationships with our partners. You’ll be tasked with overall delivery and impact of Get Shady, supporting other work in your function via line management and project sponsorship, and leading fundraising against existing and new work in line with organisational strategy. You’ll work collaboratively with the communications team to spread effective campaign messages far and wide, and leverage the greatest impact possible in our target communities and beyond. Working within strategy and project plans that have been collaboratively developed, you’ll be free to put forward your own ideas for campaign activities, particularly in response to changing events. You’ll also be expected to act as the main spokesperson for your function, speaking at, for example, local or sector events, and to the media. 

You’ll also work closely with the rest of Possible’s senior management team to cultivate and maintain a positive and supportive working culture amongst the whole workforce as well as within your own team.

Alongside, where time allows, you’ll be supported to develop further campaign and project ideas within the ‘getting around’ focus area. Where additional funding does become available you may be required to take on additional line management and project oversight responsibilities.

We exist to end the harm done through gender-based violence. Our aim is to work to prevent violence and abuse, as well as providing services to meet the individual needs of survivors, particularly women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives, free from abuse.

About the Service

The Major Trauma Centre project support young people aged 11-25 who present at St Marys Hospital, Kings College Hospital, Royal London, and St Georges Hospitals who have experienced, or are at risk of, domestic abuse, sexual violence, sexual exploitation, honour-based violence, and any other form of violence against women and girls. We work with young people of all genders and sexuality.

This role provides intensive, crisis intervention support to young people impacted by domestic and or sexual violence who presents at emergency hospital departments.

The MTC project is run in close partnership with Redthread youth violence hospital-based charity, and together we deliver excellent holistic support for survivors, as well as training and advice for hospital staff.

About the Role

MTC Youth Crisis IDVA provide person centred, strength based, trauma informed high quality case work support and advice to survivors of abuse through needs and risk assessment while developing safety plans and working in close partnership with statutory and local agencies to minimise the risk of abuse.  You will promote the service in the hospitals through building positive relationships with hospital staff, in particular safeguarding teams and clinicians, to ensure a steady flow of appropriate referrals while regularly deliver training to hospital staff to raise awareness of domestic abuse. You will appropriately respond to safeguarding concerns and represent cases at MARAC when needed.

Please note that : This position will require working pattern of two early shifts (7:30am to 3:30pm), two late shifts, (1pm to 9pm) twice a month. There will be one Friday late shift and one Saturday every 6 weeks.

The role of an IDVA is to address the safety of victims and survivors at high risk of harm. IDVAs work with their customers from the point of crisis by safety planning and risk assessing using the DASH to ascertain the level of risk to the victim. They will also raise awareness of male domestic abuse with partners and within the community.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

What you'll do:

Look Ahead IDVAs have the personal qualities required to manage customer expectations alongside the responsibilities of their role. Day to day IDVA activities include:
Manage client referrals, completing Dash Risk Assessments and obtaining and maintaining all relevant paperwork
Building supportive, trusting relationships with clients and creating a positive atmosphere

Regular attendance at Marac and completion of all Marac referrals
Support Customers to obtain Non Molestation Orders where needed and any other civil remedies available to them

Attending all court and Case Management hearings with or as a representative for clients.
Supporting clients to set personalised goals in the form of a Safety and Support Plan.
Assisting in the recording and reporting of customer incidents

Adhering to lone working protocols and maintaining high levels of awareness in relation to the health and safety of yourself and colleagues
Encouraging customers to attend relevant programmes when appropriate i.e Own My Life

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it. 

Crisis Skylight Merseyside provides innovative and exciting projects, opportunities and support for people who are, or at risk of being homeless from our office in Merseyside and in outreach settings across the Liverpool City Region. It is an exciting time in Crisis Skylight Merseyside as we launch our new 10-year strategy that will see the development of Crisis Centre’s that will seek to end homelessness for good.

About the role 

As Strengths and Assets Coach, you will work alongside people who have experienced homelessness to develop their personal Strengths and Assets. The goal of the work is to create a sustainable housing situation by promoting strong community links, access to training and development, employment, leisure, and volunteering opportunities. 

You will use and develop a range of coaching and learning skills and techniques to facilitate person centred progression plans, using a psychologically informed approach that leads to positive change. You will work with members to build their confidence and capacity to access wider community resources and become active citizens. You will also develop and deliver a range of engaging formal and informal learning, that is person centred in employability, volunteering, tenancy skills and personal development. 

The role is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in the development of Strengths and Assets Services at Crisis Skylight Merseyside. This will involve working with partners across a range of sectors to develop learning and participation activities. 

Skills, knowledge, and experience vital to succeeding in this role:

• You will have experience in community education, tenancy skills development, volunteering, training, tenancy sustainment, or group work. 

• Experience of working alongside marginalised groups and individuals using a coaching approach to develop strengths and assets. 

• Ideally hold or be keen to work towards practical teaching qualification i.e., Level 3 AET (Adult in Education & Training), PGCE, or equivalent.

This is an exciting time for Tender, with both the demand for and reach of our work expanding significantly in recent years. Having set up our Adult Services department in 2019, we have seen both the breadth and depth of our work with adults expand significantly. Following a recent organisational restructure and the development of a three-year strategy which we are implementing in 2023 – 2026, we are anticipating further growth in our adult training work.

We are therefore looking to expand our Adult Services team, with a Projects Coordinator to support the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to coordinate the delivery of a range of adult training projects to a varied group of beneficiaries. You will play a key role in ensuring that the projects are planned and delivered smoothly, communicating regularly with settings and the facilitators delivering the training, and ensuring projects are properly recorded, monitored, and evaluated. You will be part of a direct team of five in Adult Services, and a wider team of dedicated, supportive people with a shared commitment to preventing domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Role Purpose

The main purposes of the Projects Coordinator role are:

• Coordinating the administration of all aspects of the Tender’s training programmes for adults across the organisation
• Supporting the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to manage relationships with Tender’s internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, workshop leaders, teachers/carers, delivery partners and other service professionals
• Monitoring and evaluating the impact of Tender’s training sessions

Main Responsibilities and Duties

Project delivery

• Developing and coordinating the delivery of training projects for adults across all settings, including digital projects, to ensure successful delivery of projects
• Coordinating development days and developing resources and content with the Head of Adult Services, in order to grow and tailor the content for sessions with adults
• Collaborating with the Children and Young People’s (CYP) Services department to coordinate the delivery of training projects for adults in CYP settings
• Monitoring the progress of projects to ensure projects are delivered to plan and on time
• Coordinating the evaluation of projects delivered to adults to ensure learnings from projects are assessed and shared
• Working with the Tender team to ensure effective and efficient use of time and resource during delivery
• Working with the Communications Coordinator to create publicity for projects in a range of formats, including website content, newsletters, information sheets and social media posts

Relationships

• Supporting the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to manage relationships with settings to facilitate the delivery and success of adult training projects
• Supporting the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to manage relationships with other stakeholders involved in the delivery of projects, including workshop leaders, youth leaders, partner organisations, and professional specialists, to ensure stakeholders remain engaged in and committed to the projects’ success
• Working with colleagues to manage information flows and communication to ensure knowledge of and learnings from projects are known and understood across Tender

Administration

• Completing all mandatory training, and proactively seek opportunities for ongoing professional development
• Logging, tracking and updating project management documentation (including project booking, securing contracts, carrying out risk assessments) to facilitate transparency of decision-making and accuracy of reporting
• Following monitoring and evaluation procedures to ensure the results of projects are recorded accurately and in a timely manner using specified systems, including Salesforce and SharePoint
• Participating in training and other learning activities to develop relevant professional skills and knowledge
• Undertaking any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade and competencies required of the post requested by the line management
