We are looking for a dedicated Engagement Officer for Healthwatch Stockport. Could this be you?

You will be working within the passionate team at Healthwatch Stockport to effectively engage with local people, communities who have a lived or living experience of serious mental illness and of using mental health services in Stockport.

You will be a point of contact for individuals and voluntary and community groups, to share experience, to develop meaningful communication methods and feedback the impact of their voice and involvement. You will facilitate co-production and develop approaches to support individuals and groups to be involved and engaged as partners in the development and co-design of mental health support and living well across Stockport.

Planning, Development and Communication

You will • Develop, oversee, and implement the Living Well Expert by Experience workstream plan in partnership with people who have lived experience in using mental health services.

• Promote the aims and objectives of the workstream of throughout Stockport with service users, potential users of the services and services themselves.

• Co-ordinate and undertake research and report writing activity as required. Completing reports within agreed timescales and presenting and tailoring them to a variety of stakeholders.

• Co-ordinate and facilitate meetings, working groups and other forums in relation to the workstream. Taking briefing notes, minutes and developing promotional materials as appropriate with people who use local services.

• Communicate effectively with the public and the community about activities – including meeting the specific communication needs of people from the range of target stakeholders.

• Liaise with a range of key partners across the statutory and voluntary sector to ensure the voice of people with serious mental illness lived experience has influence and has the opportunity to be included in the planning, development and all discussions regarding community mental health care provision so that services are truly codesigned.

• Participate in Healthwatch Stockport and other voluntary sector activity as required in relation to this workstream.

• Keep accurate records of all work undertaken

Create, establish, and build on existing links with networks of people and groups with lived experience, and from a diversity of backgrounds across Stockport: [Neighbourhoods/Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and within the wider Living Well Programme]. This will include:

Head of Fundraising - Trusts & Statutory

Full Time, Permanent (part time considered)

Duties will include:

• Lead on writing bids, tenders and applications (5 & 6 figure),  managing and growing the existing portfolio of trusts, foundations and statutory funding
• Build and develop relationships with a portfolio of potential and strategically important grant, trust & statutory funders
• Maintain and deliver a schedule of applications and reporting to funders, including prospecting for new support opportunities
• Undertake funder research and network mapping, building the donor prospect pipeline and undertaking donor cultivation

Suitable candidates will have:

• Proven record of personally securing 6 figure grants from Trusts, Statutory and other grant-making bodies
• Strong project planning and financial management skills, including planning, forecasting, modelling and performance analysis
• Experience of developing robust cultivation and stewardship plans to build positive, long term relationships with key funders and supporters
• A strategic outlook with the ability to spot opportunities and join up dots between different projects, funder needs and create a compelling narrative around this
• Exceptional written skills, with the ability to write persuasive copy to influence funders to give

 About the role

As the Hospital Based Youth Worker, you will be supporting young people, aged 11-19, presenting at UCLH emergency department or who are inpatients within various areas of the hospital for whom there are safeguarding or there psycho-social support needs identified. The work with young people will be primarily hospital based, but you will also support some young people for longer term support in the community. You will engage with and support young people with their immediate needs and connect them with relevant community services for further support. Working in partnership with other professionals you will support young people’s holistic needs to enable long term improvement of healthy behaviours and opportunities to thrive.

To succeed in this role, you need to be proactive, a people person and passionate about supporting young people. You will have extensive experience working with young people who are vulnerable and have a wide range of needs, and a strong understanding of the support they need. You will ideally have a thorough understanding and knowledge of services for young people in Camden and Islington and other London boroughs and both community and local authority-based partners. Resilience, self- reflection and flexibility are all essential to this role and you will participate regularly in clinical supervision to broaden your practice and emotional literacy.

You must also be a skilled communicator: as comfortable building a relationship with a young person as you are liaising with our clinical colleagues in hospital and community-based partners. You’ll be keen to keep learning, seizing training opportunities at Redthread and continuously reflecting upon and improving your practice.

About the Role:
The Knowledge Management and Learning Senior Advisor drives the design and implementation of WaterAid's organisational programme learning and knowledge management strategy. The senior advisor leads the development of knowledge management tools, contribute to organisational processes for collating and disseminating program knowledge, and the evolution of knowledge exchange mechanisms. Additionally, lead the development of the internal programme and policy knowledge library, ensuring comprehensive access and collaborating on strategic knowledge communications. The Senior advisor reports into the Knowledge Management and Learning Senior Manager and their key accountabilities will be:

Co-lead Programme Learning and knowledge management (approximately 50% of time)

• Co-lead the design and implementation of an organisational programme learning and knowledge management strategy (in alignment with the organisational research agenda led by GPAC and supported by PMER processes).
• Lead the development and implementation of knowledge management and learning strategies and tools to capture, organise, and disseminate programme learning within the organisation and externally
• Co-lead the development of organisational mechanisms for knowledge exchange and evolution of our approaches.
• Support and advise PSK team members to effectively document, use and share programme learning and design dissemination strategy and plans to promote thematic learning to the target audience(s).

Develop and promote effective Information Management (approximately 20%)

• Co-Lead the development of the internal programme and policy knowledge library, ensuring that it is comprehensive and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external for strategic and knowledge communications, shaping and populating internal and external facing knowledge systems and building linkages for the same.
• Support internal and external communications teams for strategic and knowledge communications, shaping and populating external facing knowledge systems.

Lead the development of programme guidance and standards (approximately 10%)

• Lead the process and methods to develop and maintain WaterAid's normative frameworks, standards and guidance materials for both internal and external audiences, coordinating with PSK's and GPAC's technical and policy leads. Lead an efficient yet collaborative approach that ensured these are developed built on the extensive knowledge and experience that exists across all levels of the federation.
• Support the dissemination of core normative programmatic documents and standards (frameworks, standards, guidelines, toolkits) through various platforms.

Support Programme Capacity Development (approximately 5% of time)

• Contribute to the development of the capacity strengthening strategy and ensure joined-up articulation of learning, knowledge management and capacity strengthening.
• Work with Capacity Strengthening Senior Advisor, to facilitate organisational mechanisms for knowledge exchange, learning and capacity-strengthening.

Support fundraising, external engagement, and communications (approximately 5% of time)

• Contribute to the organisation's business development efforts by supporting donor engagement, intelligence gathering, and preparation of funding proposals.
• Provide technical input to specific strategic initiatives and programme design particularly on aspects of knowledge management and programme learning.

Contribute to team processes (approximately 10% of time)

• Provide support to any other relevant processes within the remit of Knowledge Management & Learning team as required as an active member of a small team.
• Support PSK annual planning, budgeting, and reporting processes

About You:

• Proven experience in leading the design and implementation of organisational programme learning and knowledge management strategies.
• Strong knowledge management background with a track record of developing effective strategies and tools to capture, organize, and disseminate program learning.
• Experience in evolving knowledge exchange mechanisms and creating organizational mechanisms for knowledge evolution.
• Extensive experience in determining and implementing learning and knowledge sharing activities using empowering approaches.
• Ability to research, synthesise information, analyse its relevance and communicate it in accessible formats.
• Experience of designing, developing, and facilitating in-person and virtual meetings and workshops.
• Experience of developing and maintaining comprehensive and accessible knowledge libraries.
• Strong IT literacy skills, including designing and maintaining SharePoint or similar information management platforms; and using Microsoft 365 and other web based tools and platforms.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Safeguarding Culture

• Embed a safeguarding culture where it is everyone’s responsibility to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk and safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do

• Lead on the development and implementation of The Diana Award’s Safeguarding Strategy and Framework

• Take responsibility and oversee The Diana Award’s newly formed external safeguarding Commitee, in line with the group’s terms of reference. Working with them, and internal stakeholders to ensure best practice across the organisations.  

  Case Management:

  • Take the day-to-day lead on managing and actioning anything which constitutes a safeguarding concern in line with our Safeguarding Policy; this includes making referrals to and liaising with The Diana Award's Safeguarding Committee, statutory organisations and other agencies/organisations as appropriate

• Provide specialist advice and support to staff and volunteers across the organisation in all aspects of safeguarding, ensuring best practice and accountability. Attend events and training as the Designated Safeguarding Lead where required

Safeguarding by Design

• Review and update The Diana Award’s Safeguarding policies and procedures, creating new procedures as required and ensure wider policies have considered safeguarding requirements

• Work with teams across the organisation to ensure a ‘safeguarding by design’ approach to all programme design, implementation and partner/stakeholder relationships

• Develop, implement and deliver a robust training programme that equips staff and volunteers with effective tools to safeguard services users and themselves

PERSON SPECIFICATION  

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Experience of working in a setting with children and young people implementing safeguarding practices

• Experience of working with adults at risk from a safeguarding point of view (desirable)

• Expert knowledge of the UK safeguarding regulatory framework concerning children and young people including the roles and responsibilities of key safeguarding agencies

About the team

Shelter Sheffield provide housing advice and support to people across the city, with a focus on emergency homelessness, intensive support for children and families, people experiencing domestic abuse and people with multiple and complex needs. We take a holistic approach to help people deal with interrelated issues that can impact their ability to keep a home and work for systemic changes to prevent homelessness and support over 5000 people every year.

About the role

With your own caseload of families, you will act as their key worker and support them to either resettle or prevent homelessness. Your primary focus will be on households where some tailored interventions are required around the needs of the children in order to stabilise their housing situation and enable the family to thrive. Accordingly, you’ll need to provide intensive, tailored support as part of a whole family approach in a 1-2-1 setting and through group work. You’ll also need to regularly visits clients’ homes and schools across the city and liaise with other agencies in the community in order to provide a co-ordinated service.

The Hummingbird Project is a youth-centred organisation that aims to provide trauma-informed services and promote youth-led action that is underpinned by our shared belief in human rights.

Our services support young refugees, between the ages of 14 and 25, many of whom arrived in the UK as unaccompanied children. The project is based in Brighton and works with those living in the city and across East and West Sussex.

As well as our direct services for young people, we actively campaign for the rights and protection of young refugees at a local and national level.

Our vision is a community standing together for the rights and protection of young refugees.

The Youth Service Manager will play a key role in ensuring services are delivered to a high standard and that the young people we support have the care and services they need, as well as a voice in decisions that affect them.

The role incorporates line management for service leads, including support and advice where individual cases are particularly challenging and/or complex. It will support the overall management and the delivery of our high-quality services through regular supervision and coaching of project leads, as well as contributing to developing new services and monitoring and evaluating activities.

Viewpoint is a service user charity currently covering Hertfordshire. Our aim is to enable people who use mental health and addiction services to have a voice in feeding back how well services are working and to be part of future service planning. 

We are now seeking a person to support the chief executive to ensure that Viewpoint implements its agreed strategy within budget and operates as a model of best practice for user involvement and to manage and supervise staff employed by Viewpoint.

Hours / salary: 22 hours / week. Full Time Equivalent Salary £35,000 p.a.

About Viewpoint 

Viewpoint develops innovative ways that support people with a lived experience of mental health issues and / or addiction challenges. Across Hertfordshire we work with over 800 experts by experience and put them at the centre of everything we do. We support people to be independent, have their say on the quality of services that they experienced and influence change to those services. 

Our support is flexible and needs-led and is delivered through outreach groups, one to one interaction or remotely.

Staff or members who have a lived experience of mental illness and / or addiction facilitate our programmes.

We offer educational sessions that enhance wellbeing and equip individuals with the skills and self-belief to aid their recovery journey.

Purpose of the post:

Principal Responsibilities: 

Management  

• To provide operational management and leadership to achieve the aims and objectives of the Viewpoint strategy.

• To attend contract reviews and provide such monitoring information as required by the service contract.

Fund-raising 

• To contribute to the development of fund-raising activities to ensure the continuation and development of Viewpoint. 

Representation 

• To negotiate appropriate user representation with service commissioners and providers. 

• To support user representation on County-wide forums.

• To ensure relevant recording, monitoring and evaluation of project work is routinely carried out and in compliance with relevant legislation and the requirements of the service contract. 

• Maintain awareness of national and local initiatives and best practice regarding user involvement.

Service Development and Delivery  

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to mental health and wellbeing.

Job Description

The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Essex and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information. 

The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support.  You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.

The main responsibilities of the post are:

• To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.

• To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone. 

• To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.

• To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.

• To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.

• To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.

• To assist survivors and relatives/supporters of survivors in understanding the range of resources and services available to them.

• To support service users to engage effectively with appropriate services to meet their individual needs and aspirations.

• To work as a link between clients, CARA staff and external agencies, ensuring appropriate information is passed on. 

• To work closely with the Essex-wide team of First Contact Navigators and Information and Referral Coordinators to ensure effective referral processes across Essex.

• To act as a point of contact for external agencies making referrals to CARA, answering queries about our referral process.

• To cover the enquiry line and the office phone and deal with enquiries as required. 

• To pro-actively promote CARA’s services to external agencies, ensuring they are aware of our referral procedures.

• To contribute to development of promotional information, to ensure information about the referral process is clear and accessible.

• To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.

• To adhere in full to all CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding procedures.

• To report to the Service Development Manager, Head of Operations, CEO and Trustees as required, including the production of regular written reports. 

• To be administratively self-servicing.

• To undertake any other related activities as required by the Head of Operations, CEO or the Chair of the Board of Trustees.
