We are looking for a Peer Mentor Coordinator Young Women & Girls

Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 (pro-rata)

Location: Hammersmith and other London centres

Hours:   14 Hours per week   

Contract: Fixed Term Contract – until January 2026

About the role:

As the Peer Mentor Coordinator (Young Women & Girls), this is an exciting time to join Advance while we embark on our journey to reach even more young women and girls aged 13-25 in need of support. You will project manage the mentoring service and recruit, support and develop Volunteer Mentors in their roles. Working as part of an innovative and newly-funded service, you will also work closely with the Maia Service Manager to capture and share feedback and learning from the project, using this to inform the ongoing development of Advance’s ways of working with YWG and disseminating findings widely across key partners and networks.

About You:

To be successful as the Peer Mentor Coordinator (Young Women & Girls) you will need the below experience and skills:

You will be able to project manage the Maia’s Service’s peer mentoring programme, liaising with keyworkers and partner agencies to successfully establish and run a peer mentoring programme across six boroughs.

You will be able to effectively engage and recruit women with lived experience to act as Volunteer Mentors for the YWG engaging with the Maia service. 

You will be able to develop resources and deliver a training package to Volunteer Mentors, including sessions on key topics such as safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, building relationships and maintaining boundaries, active listening and risk and crisis management, as well as specialist workshops focused on the challenges facing YWG, including violence, abuse and exploitation and contact with the criminal justice system.

You will have experience in developing and maintaining links with partner agencies (statutory and non-statutory, including children and young people’s and women and girls’ voluntary services) across the six boroughs, raising the profile of the Maia service and developing specific referral pathways for Volunteer Mentors and the YWG they support where appropriate.

You will be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic abuse, exploitation, mental health and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.

An exciting position has arisen to join the fundraising team at Support Through Court - a small social justice charity that packs a big punch. We help increase access to justice for those who, due to severe cuts to legal aid, are forced to face the Civil and Family courts alone and without legal representation, often in life-changing cases such as domestic violence, eviction, and debt. 

This role helps raise vital funds for the charity from partnerships with corporates in the legal world.  You will have the support of the Fundraising team to develop your skills and experience as a fundraiser. There is potential for fast progression and lots of personal development opportunities.  

As a small charity, good development opportunities and tailored support are available for staff. We offer flexible working and most fundraising staff have hybrid working arrangements with two days a week at the Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London, WC2A 2LL. Internships can run for up to 6 months, with the view of progression within the charity.

Overview of Role
Our trauma informed staff specialise in providing nurture and care to children and young people
who are looked after. We work really hard to create a home environment that exceeds the needs of
the children and young people – enabling them to express their characters, feel safe and enrich their
lives.
The children and young people that we care for can demonstrate a wide range of behaviours and
can be very demanding of time, attention, and emotions. A senior residential childcare worker
advocates pro-actively for each young person’s needs, rights and views and ensures that these are
met.
They also make certain that each young person’s individuality, difference and diversity are always
appreciated and that our young people are provided with equal opportunities and are not
discriminated against. Senior residential childcare workers encourage each young person to be
involved in all aspects of their care. This will involve skill development, problem-solving and

Role Purpose

To support the development of high quality, trustworthy, current and effective information resources for the lupus community. This role plays an important part in our work to empower people living with lupus and supporting families and carers impacted by a diagnosis of lupus.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery

• Help to review, update and co-develop health information content for the lupus community in line with our schedule, maintaining a high standard of evidence-based information production, following appropriate criteria for accreditation by professional organisations. This could include support with research, liaising with external experts for input and review, copy writing, proof reading and production (including design).
• Work with colleagues, healthcare professionals and people with lived experience of lupus to codevelop high quality information resources.
• Communicate health-related updates, such as website articles on changes to access to vaccinations.
• Respond to emailed queries related to lupus and related conditions, health system access, treatments, etc.
• Support with co-ordinating the production of the charity’s magazine 3 times a year.

Qualifications and Experience

Post Summary 

Free Tibet is a small but effective campaign organisation based in south London. We’re looking for a Fundraising Manager who can transform our routine fundraising and lead expert strategies for income generation.  This role is best suited to an experienced fundraiser who is confident in managing multiple streams of income and a small team. We welcome applications from candidates with diverse professional backgrounds, but you need to have worked in a fundraising management role before.

We are currently implementing a pay grading system at Free Tibet, offering increases with each year of service. The salary for this position starts at up to £45,000 based on the successful candidate’s experience.

Location

Our main office is in Brixton, south London. We encourage applications from candidates across the UK and are willing to discuss hybrid working, but ideally the successful candidate would be able to travel to the office at least one day per week. Some evening availability is also required for quarterly board meetings, which are carried out online. Unfortunately, we cannot support relocation, so can only accept applications from candidates with the right to work in the UK.

Job description

Fundraising

• Oversee all income-generation activity across Free Tibet and Tibet Watch. Ensure continuous improvement and innovation and an appropriate balance of fundraising activity across all streams. Current streams include postal appeals, online appeals, and the Free Tibet online shop.

• Manage applications for grant funding on behalf of both Free Tibet and Tibet Watch, working with the Fundraising Officer to build a strong portfolio of five and six-figure grants and steward them for renewal.

• Lead on the recruitment and retention of donors, especially Major Donors, and redevelop supporter journeys and stewardship programs. 

• Evaluate new ideas for income generation and strategies for implementation, especially corporate and challenge events / community fundraising. 

• Impact reporting of fundraising activity and the performance of quarterly appeals, with a view to improve internal processes for greater income innovation and ROI.

• Liaise with the Free Tibet Campaigns & Research Teams to ensure that campaigning, digital and fundraising activities are seamlessly coordinated.

• Managing relationships with third party agencies, like mailing services and digital mobilisation agencies, making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standard.

• Ensure that our new Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, Raiser’s Edge NXT, is used effectively and to its full potential. 

• Take a supporter-facing role in managing relationships with Major Donors, leading by example in securing mission-critical income.

• When needed, providing on-the-ground support for direct marketing, including copywriting and editing.

Leadership & management

• Line manage the Fundraising Team, which currently consists of a part-time Fundraising Officer and part-time Supporter Care & Shop Officer, nurturing their professional development and working collaboratively to produce fundraising projects. 

• Act as a leader within the organisation, representing staff to the board and executive committee where appropriate. 

• Work with the Finance and HR Manager to monitor expenditure against budget and prepare regular reports on expenditure and projected income for the Free Tibet and Tibet Watch boards. 

• Develop annual and project-specific Fundraising Strategies, reporting on appropriate indicators. 

General responsibilities

• Participating in regular team meetings.

• Participate in events and actions as required, with protest attendance highly encouraged.

• Ensure that volunteers working with your team are managed appropriately.

• Participating in monthly finance/fundraising meetings.

• Provide regular fundraising reports for the FT-TW Boards and Head of Campaigns. 

• Any other tasks, where appropriate, required to ensure the smooth-running of the organisation.

Person Specification

Essential 

• Experience of fundraising management.

• Proven ability to look at the big picture of an organisation’s fundraising and prioritise what needs particular attention.

• Proven track record of delivering income across one or more of the following income streams:

  • Individual Giving: postal appeals, online appeals; emergency appeals; matched giving campaigns.

  • Major Donor Fundraising: soliciting and stewarding donations from HNWIs; prospects research; Major Donor recruitment.

  • Trusts and Foundations: soliciting and stewarding major grant funding.

• Digital fluency with a deep understanding of how this relates to fundraising.

• Line management of other fundraisers, especially with agile working and diverse skill sets.

• Experience of overseeing the development of team members.

• Excellent knowledge of proper practice in fundraising data and compliance, especially with reference to The Code of Fundraising Practice and GDPR principles.

• Confident reporting directly to the Board of Trustees and representing staff interests.

• Commitment to Free Tibet’s mission.

Desirable

• Experience of working in a high intensity environment, working collaboratively and skillfully in response to fast-moving developments in global news.

• Personal achievement/s securing five or six-figure grants, especially for research or human rights projects.

• Experience of managing lead generation campaigns at both a strategist and practitioner level, especially Facebook ads, with past examples of success.

• Experience using RENXT, Mailchimp, and digital tools (e.g. Engaging Networks or Impact Stack).

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the team, working 28 hours per week.

Young lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. We currently use a hybrid working model. This role falls under the hybrid - variable category. This role is part home, part site based (your contractual base will be both Home and Addenbrooke’s Hospital). You will have the opportunity to work remotely / from home within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at the interview stage.

The office-based working will be at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, to provide support to children and young people (0-24 years, with a focus on over 13’s) diagnosed with cancer and leukaemia, and their families.

This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application an enhanced criminal record check will be completed. This role is also subject to a Social Worker Registration.

WHAT DO I NEED?

About the role:

The RSAP (Rough Sleeping Accommodation Programme) Lead Worker will provide support to individuals, who have a history of Rough Sleeping, following them being accepted into the RSAP ‘move-on’ programme. 

The Lead Worker will provide intensive, holistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed, flexible and responsive support to individuals accessing this service as well as work alongside external agencies to help ensure they are linked into the local community such as activities and groups which offer health, wellbeing and Education, Employment and Training (ETE) opportunities.

The Lead Worker will provide support to the Team Manager to manage referrals coming into this element of the service and lead on assessing the individual. Working within SHP’s policy and procedural framework, the worker will carry out a comprehensive assessment of needs and risks in agreed timescales.  On-going high quality support plans & risk assessments will then be drafted and reviewed on a regular basis. 

You will be working to upskill the client to manage their accommodation and feel ready to move on from the RSAP property into fully independent housing, within 2 years where possible.

About you:

You will possess the relevant knowledge and experience, including:

• A level of experience and understanding of provision of services to people within the areas of offending, mental health, homeless people with complex needs & a history of substance use; 

• A good and current understanding of safeguarding issues and procedures;

• Experience of effective liaison with social care, health, housing and criminal justice agencies;

• Experience of writing client records, completing monitoring materials and contributing to project evaluation;

• A significant level of experience, practise and understanding of the principles of risk and needs assessment, planning, goal setting, and reviewing;

• An understanding of the importance of professional integrity in relationships with clients, peers and other relevant professionals.

You will also bring the relevant skillset to the role which includes:

• The ability to find ways to develop relationships with people who find it difficult to engage, and to engage and work with clients who may have a low level of interaction with services and who may be sceptical about their value;

• Engaging with a wide range of professionals, some of whom may have very different approaches to problem solving through a multi-agency approach, and advocating to agencies on behalf of the service and its clients;

• Providing information and advice to clients about the options available to them, with the aim of empowering clients to make informed decisions;

• To be self-servicing in the use of the computer to create letters, minutes and key work notes and to send and receive emails;

• Familiarity with relevant housing, health and social justice legislation, policy and best practice relevant to systems change and people with multiple needs;

• A resilience and determination to overcome obstacles and find creative solutions.

As Partnerships Officer, you will work collaboratively with the Chief Executive and the Communications Manager, as well as consultants and Martingale Ambassadors.

You will lead on managing our partnerships with charities and other organisations and help Martingale to grow major donor income streams by supporting the development of new and existing relationships. You will be responsible for identifying, researching and cultivating new potential funders, including contributing to their ongoing stewardship. 

The Dalgarno Trust is looking for an outstanding Project Manager who is passionate about health and wellbeing to manage our Community Champions project. You will be an effective and dynamic project manager with the right mix of both hands-on and management skills to recruit, lead and develop a team of local volunteers. Community Champions actively engage our local Dalgarno communities in identifying health needs and improving their health and well-being by delivering campaigns, events, activities, training and signposting to other services.

Community Champions are local people who volunteer their time to connect local communities and residents with local services. The Champions have success because they know and understand the culture and language of local communities and can tune into the communities’ needs and aspirations. The Dalgarno Community Champions project focuses on reaching residents living in the five social housing estates known as the Dalgarno Wedge.

The Champions reach out to the community in different ways from meeting people on the streets, knocking on doors and engaging people through various events and networks. Talking to residents regularly provides a rich insight into identifying challenges and learning what people need to influence commissioners, other professionals, and decision makers. The Champions also support residents in making informed choices about a range of issues linked to their health and wellbeing. Through the programme the Champions are supported in gaining vital skills, training, and experience to progress them in their own professional development. 

Job Description:

· Recruit and coordinate Community/Maternity Champions volunteers to promote local health and wellbeing.

· Create engaging opportunities around local and national health campaigns for volunteer outreach in order to engage hard-to-reach communities

· Manage project delivery including community research, events, regular activities and public health campaigns

· Manage the work of the Community Champions Support Worker (working 16 hrs per week) and conduct regular supervision.

· Manage the work of the Community Champions Apprentice (working 30 hrs per week) and conduct regular supervision.

· Effectively manage and monitor project expenditure.

· Work with partner organisations to maximise the impact of Community/Maternity Champions and foster good working relationships between volunteers and local organisations

· Capture case studies and news and publicise to residents and stakeholders via the Community/Maternity Champions and the Dalgarno Trust website, newsletter and other social media outlets (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Next Door)

· Capture and record outputs on the online monitoring database and complete quarterly monitoring reports to the bi-borough Public Health Department

· Ensure that there is a diverse and equitable access to volunteering opportunities

· Liaise with GP surgeries and health and social care providers located in and/or serving the Dalgarno Ward residents to develop a thorough understanding of their services and create referral and access pathways

· Effectively manage and offer ongoing support and supervision to Community/Maternity Champions volunteers to include: regular supervision meetings and appraisals with volunteers; source & deliver continuous professional development, to enable them to undertake community research, signpost members of the community to appropriate services and support a range of volunteer-run activities e.g. information sessions and specialist training workshops on health and wellbeing themes designed to inform and build upon the knowledge of volunteers

· Ensure all staff and volunteers adhere to Dalgarno Trust’s policies and procedures.

· Undertake any other duties as directed.

· Be willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends

The role will be a stimulating and inspiring opportunity for an experienced equality and discrimination lawyer to work pro actively and strategically to use the law as a tool for change. 

BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change. 
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism. 

In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom. 
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO. 

Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO. 

About You-
We are looking for someone who is excited about being part of a team that will build a legal service and who can work with Black communities and be guided by them. 
You will also be able to demonstrate that you are aware that Black communities are not homogeneous and you will bring this understanding to the way that you approach your work and interact with clients, our partners and community organisations.

You will be working in a team of Community Keyworkers in your region. Each Keyworker will provide holistic one to one community support to women with a variety of needs.

To be successful as the Community Key Worker you will need the below experience and skills.

You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to car that can be used for work purposes. A creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder with have good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also, experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions within the Hampshire area.
