Action Foundation was established in 2005 to assist asylum seekers, refugees and other migrants in Tyne and Wear. We aim to empower refugees, asylum seekers, and other migrants to live independently through a commitment to supporting them to achieve self-sufficiency and integration into the community.

The Language and Learning service has developed and enhanced its support towards better integration to include three streams of support which include employability workshops and advice, digital skills courses alongside non-accredited ESOL classes. We are looking for a full-time project manager to lead our staff and volunteer teams in the delivery of these streams of support.

You will line manage the Project Officer(s) responsible for different aspect of the service work and support them with the delivery of in-person classes and where required any online classes. You will also play an important role at a strategic level in developing partnerships and networks with formal and informal providers of ESOL, employability and digital skills to promote and enhance the service.

The Role

Believe: Positive Destinations Project Co-ordinator

Would you like to be involved in this new opportunity to support young people in Swansea develop the skills needed for the world of work?

Believe: Positive Destinations is a 12 week work readiness programme for young people aged 16 to 25.  The programme, part funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, has been developed specifically for young people who have little or no experience of the world of work. It is a holistic programme, it will support them to develop workplace skills, build their aspirations, increase self-confidence as well as providing them with strategies to manage their wellbeing. 

As the Project Co-ordinator you will assist the CSM with the development of this new service. This will include building a network of work placement providers and referral sources. You will be the main contact for placement providers and will provide direct support to participants to ensure they are achieving their potential. You will be responsible for delivering the programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants.

What does the job role involve:

• Promotion of the service at networking events and online.
• Establish a network of appropriate placement providers throughout Swansea and be the main contact for placement supervisors for the duration of the placement.
• Establish links with organisations who will be referring into the service, this will include Education, Leaving Care and NEET services.
• Delivery of a 12 week work readiness programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants including the delivery of Agored Cymru accredited units.
• Supporting young people to achieve their development goals.
• Responsibility for gathering and collating relevant data and contribution to report writing as per the request of the service manager and the commissioner of service.
• Tracking service user progress through the use of outcomes scoring over the duration of the programme and after exit, using a young person centred approach.
• Provide advice and guidance to PW1s in manager's absence.
• Standard service operating hours will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm Friday, however the role requires some flexibility around hours as we support young people around their needs.

Essential criteria

• Self-motivated and highly organised.
• Experience of working with young people aged 16 to 25 years in a one to one and group work context.
• Experience of working with young people who are NEET (not engaged in education, employment or training) in a relevant setting.
• Experience of delivering group work programmes.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. The free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and by rapid response vehicles.

Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.

They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only available in the hospital emergency department.

Job purpose:

The Compliance Manager role has the purpose of maintaining a culture of compliance across the charity whilst ensuring we adhere to all relevant regulations and laws.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

The Role

CoppaFeel! is looking for a Head of Public Fundraising who will be responsiblefor leading an emerging department at CoppaFeel! that holds both historic and new income streams. 

With an ambitious team, we need someone in this role to engage a diverse audience and raise vital funds to save lives.

You will oversee acquisition and stewardship, maximising income from audiences including individual giving, community, gaming, lottery, legacy and in-memory giving. You will lead in developing and delivering the public fundraising strategy. With a recent review of public fundraising at CoppaFeel!, you will be key in the support and development of unrestricted income, as we invest in new fundraising products, marketing campaigns and growth.

This department is important to our growth at CoppaFeel! and it is an exciting time to join as we are committed to investing in new income streams and need a dynamic, driven leader to drive them forward. You would be able to shape this department and role the way you see it moving forward at CoppaFeel!.

The Head of Public Fundraising will sit within the Fundraising team and report to the Director of Fundraising. You will have a team of 3, with 2 direct reports. 

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. Strategy

• Develop and deliver strategies to secure donations from individual donors, driving repeat gifts and income to meet your annual target and agreed KPI’s.

• Oversee the management of our new gaming fundraising strategy.
• Develop and oversee new fundraising products, including launching a new celebrity led fundraising initiative.

• Keep diary and shared calendar up-to-date, shared communications across the organisation including desk booking systems, People HR, Weekly Round Up and contribute to team meetings.

The role of Helpline Advisor

For several years, Guts UK have provided information, support and guidance to our community over the phone and by email. This year, we’re formalising that service into a professional Helpline and are looking for someone to join our small, talented support team.

During the initial 6-month trial period, the Helpline phone lines will be open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, but this may expand or change later in the year. Queries could be received via phone, email or web-query form.

​As a member of the Helpline team, you will offer on demand information, support, guidance and signposting primarily to enquirers living with, or caring for those with, digestive conditions and symptoms. The support offered will include receiving calls, emails and web form queries from people who are looking for more information about their digestive condition, need to know where they can turn to for support, or are waiting on a diagnosis and need help navigating how to get there. You will provide appropriate information, guidance and signposting to our own information and other external support organisations. As a charity, Guts UK covers all digestive symptoms and conditions, across the whole of the UK, and so no two days will be the same and queries will be diverse and interesting.

The role holder will man the Helpline (alongside others from the team) from 10am to 2pm (with a 30-minute lunch break) and during that time will receive, respond to and appropriately log phone calls, web-queries and emails.

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is the leading maritime charity for youth development and lifelong learning.
