Role Overview
As the Deputy Service Manager, you will ensure the highest standard of care and safety for residents, adhering to safeguarding guidelines and quality regulations. The role includes mentoring and supporting staff teams to consistently meet and exceed these standards and overseeing that teams work within the Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs) framework.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to)
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and organise the team, including rota management, to ensure optimal staffing.
- Staff Development: Conduct appraisals, supervisions, and inductions for Senior Support Workers and Support Workers.
- Training Management: Ensure all staff training is up to date, with demonstrated competency.
- Implementation Support: Assist in implementing management decisions, including peer support as required.
- Communication: Foster open communication and constructive feedback.
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications as required.
About you
- Strong communication skills to liaise with the public, trustees, and professional bodies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Minimum QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care, with a willingness to attain Level 5 if needed.
- Knowledge of safeguarding regulations, CQC notifications, and standards.
- Experience in staff management and development, MCA, and DoLS.
- A high level of professionalism, flexibility, and commitment.
- Familiarity with CQC standards for inspections.
- Two years in a team development role.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Experience handling investigations, disciplinary procedures, and ER issues.

Your challenge? – To provide information and advice, brief interventions and long term structured interventions to support young people who are using drugs and alcohol or being impacted by someone else’s use. You will be conducting assessments, risk assessments, care-planning and working directly with other services such as schools, social care, mental health services and youth offending.The successful candidate must have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work with other agencies both face to face, email and via telephone.

Do you want to work as part of a dynamic and engaging team supporting Young People in Northampton? Due to project expansion, Aquarius Young People’s Substance Misuse team are recruiting for several Young People’s Practitioners across the county.
Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.
You will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools, colleges & universities, places of worship, youth service provisions and local community venues. You will help to raise the profile of substance misuse services available to young people and also provide young people with that first point of contact providing advice and further direction into accessing the right support, particularly targeting outreach to engage 'difficult -to-reach' young people.
Holding relevant experience with skills or qualifications in either substance misuse/youth work/psychology/counselling/mental health/social care you will also:
- Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable people in a community setting
- Be able to deliver group work
- Be knowledgeable about: safeguarding children, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity and Hidden Harm

The Postgraduate Diploma in Children and Young People’s (CYP) Psychological Trainings: Therapy is one of the national CYP Mental Health (CYPMH) workforce development programmes, funded by NHS England. This stems from an established programme with an existing team that has run successfully since 2011 when the CYP-IAPT initiative was first introduced and a service transformation programme began, aimed at improving existing CYPMH services.
The Programme Director will lead on the management and operational delivery of the programme, which includes delivering and developing the programme in line with the NHS England National Curriculum, whilst also ensuring it is in compliance with evolving University College London (UCL) academic governance and quality assurance and enhancement frameworks. Our Postgraduate Studies (PGS) department is made up of several other Programme Directors, Deputy Programme Directors, teaching staff and operational support staff, who all contribute in fostering a supportive and collaborative working environment and excellent student experience.
We are seeking a mental health professional with experience of curriculum design, assessment and programme organisation within an Higher Education context. You will demonstrate experience of working in CYPMH services, leadership skills, and the ability to work cross-culturally in relation to clinical practice. A commitment to delivering high-quality standards in teaching and assessment, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for trainees to enhance student experience is significant for this role.
