Job Purpose: We are looking to recruit an empathic, warm, friendly, hard-working and flexible person who is passionate about improving young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health. They must be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage their own workload. They must be able to work independently within the community.

Salary: £ 26,000 - £29,120

Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Working pattern is Monday 12:30am-8:30pm, Tuesday 9:00am to 5:00pm, Wednesday 10.30am to 6:30pm, Thursday 9:00am -5:00pm, Friday 10:00am - 6:00pm.

Location: Phoenix Youth Centre plus working across locations in East Surrey as necessary.

Annual leave:  Five weeks plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time workers) Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of six weeks after six years’ service.  (pro-rata for part time workers) 

The holiday year runs from 1  April to 31 March each year.

Main Responsibilities:

 To help assess the needs and strengths of the referred young adult and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change

 To deliver early support/targeted group interventions which aim to improve mental health and well-being, build on existing strengths and increase levels of resilience

 Record and collect data with various tools such as Outcome Star and Session Feedback Questionnaires to evaluate the ef fectiveness of interventions

 To take responsibility for own caseload of young adults, some with complex and multiple needs, with support f rom senior EWMH staff

 To help involve project participants in the co-production of programmes, activities and services

 To be proactive in connecting with other agencies who can provide activities to support Step Forward sessions

 Attending networking events and meetings, online and in-person, to promote Step Forward

 To work collaboratively with Surrey CCGs, GPs, local CYPS and adult mental health teams and other community-based services to provide the most ef fective service for young adults and reach targets set by partners whilst keeping within the YMCA values of service

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. The role will involve supporting the team in the day to day running of the service including the preparation of contract documentation (such as registration forms, as well as specified supporting evidence: ID proofs, Proofs of Address etc.) for submission to funding partners, uploading data spreadsheets and CMS systems, and supporting the team with promotion, outreach and engagement of our services. This includes conducting follow-ups and answering queries (by phone, email and in person) from both current and prospective participants on the programmes being delivered by High Trees. They will also be responsible for the preparation of finance related performance evidence for monthly/quarterly submission.

The successful applicant will have experience of providing efficient administrative support, be very organised and able to work to deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Must also be flexible and excited about being at the heart of a small but fast paced team which is committed to providing an excellent service to High Trees’ users.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

About the role 

As a Lead Worker (Intensive Case Management), you will deliver intensive, person-centred, and holistic support to people who are disadvantaged and need significant support to end their homelessness. You will be collaborating with internal and external colleagues to meet people’s immediate, acute needs and to support them to start taking steps towards ending their homelessness.

We take a bold approach to supporting people and adapt our ways of working when needed to ensure that we are providing impactful, equitable service giving everyone a fair opportunity to receive the support they need. We help people to challenge barriers put up by the system. This is an incredibly varied role as you will offer practical support such as help to attend external appointments, open bank accounts, and obtain IDs, but you will also work closely with our internal clinical psychologists to help your members to recognise their strengths and build resilience.

About you 

• You have experience supporting people with complex trauma and multiple needs including mental health, physical health and substance misuse difficulties, a history of multiple exclusion and social isolation. 

• You have worked within a relevant sector which could include domestic violence, women’s services, migrants’ services, probation, or health services. 

• You have knowledge of relevant housing, homelessness, social care, and welfare legislation.

About the NEL VCSE Collaborative

The North East London (NEL) Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Collaborative works closely with the ICB to work together strategically by shaping, improving and delivering services and contributes to the system design and organisational development of the ICB, ensuring Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) contribution.

Age UK are recruiting for a Director of Network Engagement & Support.

In this new, impactful role, you will be responsible for mobilising and subsequently continuously improving a new network engagement and support function. The aim of the function is to significantly enhance the understanding the of needs, views and priorities of local Age UKs and the way in which the national organisation connects with, engages, and supports them. 

Working collaboratively with local Age UKs and national teams, the Director of Network Engagement & Support will be responsible for developing and implementing a network engagement and support strategy. This includes driving forward changes that may include the type of support provided, the way in which it is delivered and how it is monitored and measured to ensure our approach is responsive, sustainable and supports the strategic objectives and operational needs of the network.

This will require collaborative working across a range of teams to ensure a coherent and coordinated approach. This role and team will engage directly with local Age UK leadership, be the owner of the organisational overview of the network and network interactions, ensuring risks and issues are appropriately managed and that there is an effective and transparent flow of information across the organisation and network including into formal governance mechanisms.  

The Director of Network Engagement & Support will ensure the effective delivery and operation of several formal and informal network engagement activities, for example Chief Officer induction. Role Purpose

The Head of Research and Delivery will lead the delivery of programmes, client-facing projects and research initiatives for GDI Hub CIC, working across the key themes of Disability Inclusion, Inclusive Design and Cities, Climate Change, Gender, Financial Inclusion and Assistive Technology. It is expected that the role holder will have considerable experience across at least two of these themes and an appetite for both broadening and deepening their knowledge across the others. They will also collaborate with research leads and teams based across GDI Hub including the Academic Research Centre (ARC) at UCL.

This is a senior, strategic, role responsible for team management and leading key projects, leading client, donor and government relationships, and providing strategic subject matter expertise. It would suit someone with a proven-track record in the sector and requires a strong aptitude for strategic thinking, delivery management and the creation of tenable and evidence-based recommendations. They will be creative and collaborative with a drive to make the world a fairer place, inspiring others to do the same.

They will be responsible for delivery on projects and research under their remit and contribute to the development of new projects and research, working closely with partners and clients. Current funders, partners and clients include the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Asian Development Bank, Climate Investment Funds, UNICEF, Carbon Trust and Expo City Dubai. This will involve leading a permanent team of six, which is expected to grow to eight by Q4 2024-25, and any external consultants brought online as required to deliver across a portfolio of work.

Role Responsibilities

Project and Research Delivery and Management

• Lead a growing portfolio of projects under the Research and Delivery team including a current portfolio of circa 10 active projects.
• Leadership of Global Thematic Goods sub-programme under the AT2030 programme, with direct project leadership of 2 workstreams (inclusive infrastructure and inclusive climate resilience).
• Lead the intellectual and strategic management of project delivery, ensuring that projects deliver clear messages aligned to programme targets, client needs and project scope and deliver impact.
• Take overall responsibility for the quality and timeliness of project delivery and deliverables, ensuring project management processes and procedures are being implemented correctly and outputs are to the highest standard in line with GDI Hub style.
• Provide overall research leadership in GDI HUB CIC, instilling academic rigour and driving innovative and inclusive research, managing researchers to deliver high quality outputs that are evidence-based, meeting internal/external expectations and tailored to target audiences.
• Plan and manage workplans, including emergent risks, challenges, change requests, budgets, travel, schedules, and scope.

Client Management and Reporting

• Manage and develop relationships with partners and stakeholders, to support effective collaboration.
• Provide leadership in client facing discussions, understanding needs and priorities, and linking these to project and team delivery plans.
• Engage with emerging opportunities as appropriate, leading proposal development with the wider team.
• Service project reporting requirements and instruct timely invoicing against project agreements.

Support Communications and External Engagement

• Strategic leadership of external engagement across their portfolio, attending and speaking at events, conferences and project workshops as needed, to drive impact of our work.
• Provide input to communications content and the events pipeline to further raise the profile, reach and impact of GDI Hub’s work.
• Write insight reports, blogs or other content to support communications and external engagement as required.
• Highlight communication, networking and new work opportunities arising from project and client engagements.

Internal Team Management

• Manage and support the research and delivery team ensuring team members are informed, connected and working as a team, ensuring shared understanding of projects and individual delivery responsibilities.
• Work closely with the COO and Programme Management team to ensure sustainable delivery and resource management processes are followed.
• Ensure team resources are used in accordance with project budgets and actively tracked throughout delivery. Review resource capacity and factor into any new project bids or repeat business opportunities.
• Direct line management of Senior Inclusive Design Manager, Senior Financial Inclusion Researcher, Senior Social Researcher and Inclusive Climate Researcher. Support the team in their own line management responsibilities in line with planned activity.

As our Government Fundraising Specialist, you will be at the forefront of implementing our government fundraising strategy. This role involves a blend of research, advocacy, strategic proposal development, and guidance on contractual and donor compliance. You will join a dynamic, hard-working team responsible for securing 90% of the organization's revenue. Your work will focus on a new two-pronged approach: targeting governments at both the capital and local embassy levels in the regions where we operate our grantmaking programs, with the goal of making this revenue stream a significant component of our organizational budget in the coming years. You will not be starting from scratch, as we currently have secured government funding, as well as numerous relationships with governments that can be leveraged. And you will work in partnership with many colleagues across departments who will contribute to the success of this role.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Organizational Preparation: Help prepare the organization for success in securing new government funding by developing internal systems, processes, and workflows necessary for effective engagement and management.
• Strategy Development: Contribute to refining and enhancing the government fundraising strategy to align with organizational goals and emerging opportunities.
• Research & Identification: Explore international cooperation trends and the government donor landscape and identify promising funding opportunities.

Skills for Success: To excel in this role, you will need:

• Expertise: At least 7 years of experience in fundraising for international human rights, social justice and/or development cooperation, with a proven track record of securing funding from government donors through both relationship building and competitive bids.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of the government donor landscape and grant processes.
• Compliance Savvy: Strong grasp of compliance requirements related to government grants and experience in working with internal colleagues to prepare organizations to meet these requirements.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Programme Coordinator to join our small but committed team, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality mentoring programmes and women's support groups.

The Role

You’ll support the Programme Manager in coordinating the logistics and delivery of our mentoring services, which include our flagship Mentoring for Mothers programme and its adaptation, Mentoring for Mothers Welcome, tailored to support asylum-seeking women and their children.

From the initial application stage to conducting assessments and making the all-important mentor-mentee matches, you’ll ensure that everyone feels supported and valued throughout their journey with us. You’ll also be a crucial point of contact for our volunteer mentors, providing training and supervision, answering queries, and ensuring they feel confident in their roles.

In addition, you’ll take an active role in the coordination of our Women Support Groups, which help to foster a sense of community and solidarity. You’ll be responsible for ensuring sessions run smoothly, supporting facilitators, and actively promoting our mentoring programmes to group attendees. Your proactive nature will help strengthen our relationships with external partners and support the development of new opportunities for our service users.

About You

You'll have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable families and individuals, especially those from diverse and complex backgrounds The ideal candidate will have a background in community support or volunteer management, with strong communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. You should be confident working independently but also thrive as part of a small, close-knit team.

An understanding of the challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees is crucial, as is a solid grasp of safeguarding principles and experience implementing them. The integrated team provide support to people with long-term mental health problems within a primary care setting, helping people develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.

We are looking for a full time Mental Health Advisor to work alongside SLaM colleagues to deliver this service. Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years.  We enable and empower people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind to overcome barriers and to be as independent as possible. 

 An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Senior Management Team, and lead our Children and Young People’s Service.  The service helps children, young people and families to thrive, by providing a variety of vibrant and impactful services including the Habilitation Service on behalf of the Local Authority.   

Principal accountabilities:

1. Provide overarching leadership, and management, to the Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS).  

2. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the Surrey County Council contract for Habilitation services ensuring that the Key Performance Indicators are met and reported on, in line with the contractual obligations, and that the contract is secured for the future.

3. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the CYPS Service Facilitator and others, the delivery of outputs and outcomes of a number of grant funded services.

4. Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times, and to ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and maintained.

5. To be the designated Safeguarding Lead for Children and Young People for the charity, working closely with Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership and other organisations such as Surrey Youth Focus, and internally with the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Adults.

6. To plan and manage the departmental budget for the Children and Young People’s Service, making best use of resources at all times to achieve maximum impact for the people we support across the organisation.

7. Regular reporting to Surrey County Council, Services Committee, Trustee Board, and funders as required.

8. Line management of the CYPS Operational Manager, the Children and Young People’s Service Facilitator, and a number of other direct reports.

9. Support and supervise the team of staff and volunteers to ensure that they perform and work to the agreed standards and in line with our organisational values.

10. Conduct annual appraisals and identify training needs within the team to meet all national standards.

13. To develop the service to include children and young people who are Hard of Hearing or Deaf, and their families, working in partnership with other organisations to ensure we add value. 

14. To share responsibility for the Charity’s operational decision making with other senior managers.

15. To oversee the management and maintenance of the contract for Children’s statutory register of vision impairment.

16. To work in partnership with internal teams, such as fundraising and communications, to ensure the Children and Young People’s Service is well resourced, and always in line with the charity brand.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

 Desirable

• Graduate Diploma in Habilitation and Disabilities of Sight (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification which specifically meets all the learning outcomes arising from the ‘Quality Standards – Delivery of Habilitation Training (Mobility and Independent Living Skills) for Children and Young People with Visual Impairment (2011)’: Qualification Participant Learning Outcomes.
• Registration with relevant professional body.
• First Aid Certificate (if the successful applicant does not already hold this, they will be required to complete it before starting in post)
