Purpose of this role 

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver activities to young people within the school that contribute towards the development of happy, thriving and resilient young adults. The role will promote their positive school experience and contributions to society.

This role is to provide sustained support to vulnerable young people within the school, helping them to overcome issues, before they become potentially serious problems.

Responsibilities

• Work co-operatively with the school, under the management of The Eikon Charity staff to ensure the highest quality of delivery and support 
• To build positive and supportive relationships with young people within the school who are struggling to participate positively with their school experience 
• To assess the needs and strengths of the referred young person, plan effective and engaging activities which aim to improve mental health and well-being and build on existing strengths and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change. 
• To create and deliver engaging activities that meet the identified needs for both individual and groups and enable active participation during the school day and in extracurricular opportunities if required. These may include one to one sessions, targeted groups and lunch clubs etc,
• To review and evaluate activities to ensure needs are met and to inform effective development of future activities 
• To ensure that all work is integrated with other in-school support services by building effective relationships with existing pastoral staff
• With school staff, identify emerging needs, analyse needs and create an effective response to meet those needs. 
• Manage referrals and caseloads in partnership with school and Eikon line manager   
• Keep up to date and accurate records and case notes on the Evide case management and Goal Based Outcomes systems.
• To collect and share case studies that demonstrate good practice and the impact of interventions on outcomes for children and young peoplePlan group or individual engagements, evidence progress and celebrate achievement with young people. 
• To create regular opportunities for young people to share their views with each other and school staff, capturing their voice to improve wellbeing across the school 
• Work as part of a team and attend team meetings, training events and participate fully in 1:1, and group supervision as required. 
• Work within Eikon’s internal policies, safeguarding and data protection regulations Contribute to the Eikon team by attending team days as required

South East London Mind are working in partnership with Bridge Support and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the Greenwich Mental Health Hub.  This forms part of the new transformation of mental health services in the Royal Borough of Greenwich under the NHS Long Term Plan. The service brings together the expertise of local primary, secondary and voluntary sector mental health care providers with the aim of providing flexible, holistic and integrated services for adults with mental health problems.

The integrated team provides support to people with long-term mental health problems within a primary care and community mental health setting, helping people develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.

We are looking for a Mental Health Advisor with experience of working within mental health services including supporting prevention, recovery and self-management. Applicants should have experience of completing assessments, managing a diverse caseload, working in a busy work environment, and possess effective skills in communication. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and to show initiative is essential for this role.

The role will involve:

• Management of a diverse caseload

Job Purpose and Summary 

Do you want to be part of an exciting and varied fundraising programme?

Currently, our student team supports hundreds of students per year to take part in some incredible fundraising challenges. This includes national and international treks and marathons, such as climbing Kilimanjaro, trekking across the Morocco High Atlas Mountains or running 26.2 miles through Budapest. 

We have two roles available for Student Fundraising Assistants to work with the current team across campuses in the UK and one in Ireland. With the purpose to engage with students at our partner universities and inspire them to join us on a fuindraising challenge to defeat meningitis and tick off a bucket list adventure.

The Student Fundraising Assistant will support the student team with recruiting students to take on one of these challenges. Some primary tasks and activities will include attending freshers' fairs, presenting about Meningitis Research Foundation’s student programme at information meetings and making phone calls to those who have registered their interest.

This role requires strong prioritisation and communication skills, sensitivity and flexibility. Whether you come with direct fundraising experience or have transferable skills that the role requires, we will support and develop you to excel in your role. What we are really looking for is someone passionate about making a difference and who is confident and outgoing when talking to new people. You will be the face and voice of the cause when talking to students. 

Meningitis Research Foundation is based in Bristol, but this role is flexible and is open to remote working with regular visits to universities across the UK.

We offer an annual salary of £23,000 (pro-rata), 6% employer pension contribution and employee assistance program alongside annual leave of 25 days per year (pro-rata). You will report to the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events and Community) within the Fundraising Team and work closely with the Student Team who will assign day-to-day activities.

Key responsibilities 

• Visiting partner universities around the UK to promote their chosen fundraising challenge. These promotions include but may not be limited to; manning freshers fair stalls, flyering and delivering lecture shout outs.

• Maintaining positive relationships with the universities visited through good communication skills.

• Generate interest in the work of Meningitis Research Foundation and motivate people to register their interest in a challenge and sign up.

• Deliver short presentations at information meetings about the work of Meningitis Research Foundation and the fundraising support we offer to challenge participants. 

• Make telephone calls to students who have registered interest in a challenge; answering questions, assisting with concerns and helping to overcome barriers to entry such as fundraising targets.

• Occasional need to assist with social media content e.g. creation of Instagram stories or posts using Canva. 

• Other duties as reasonable requested by the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) or Head of Fundraising.

• Excellent oral communication skills, strong networker and a confident, outgoing manner 

• Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise and juggle multiple activities 

• IT competent - able to use Microsoft 365

You will be working in a supportive, friendly, and welcoming team whilst having oversight of a caseload of women, who may be under the supervision of the National Probation Service or in custody, enhancing the offer of holistic support and advocacy services available to them throughout their journey.

Building relationships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies in local communities is vital to build referral pathways and provide a whole system approach to supporting individuals.

To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.

You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions.

Citizens Advice Milton Keynes is a local charity that helps people to resolve their legal, money and personal problems. We have been providing free, confidential, and impartial advice since 1972 and helped over 8000 local people last year.

We’ve been working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Care for over 15 years, supporting people with cancer and their families. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and confident person to join our Casework Team to help people to cope with the ‘cost of cancer’.

Each year our Macmillan Caseworkers provide advice on practical and financial matters like benefits, debt and employment you can find out more about the service by watching a short video on our vacancy page via the apply button.

The ideal candidate will provide advice and support in person, via telephone, email and video call to patients undergoing treatment for cancer at Milton Keynes and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals. Macmillan Project Caseworkers will assist clients with complex welfare, debt and housing enquiries. This requires a good foundation knowledge of each advice area, so competence in these subjects is desirable, but full and ongoing training will be provided to support successful candidates in their professional development.

This is a challenging role, managing a demanding caseload and working with people at every stage of their cancer journey. Role Purpose

To support the development of high quality, trustworthy, current and effective information resources for the lupus community. This role plays an important part in our work to empower people living with lupus and supporting families and carers impacted by a diagnosis of lupus.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery

• Help to review, update and co-develop health information content for the lupus community in line with our schedule, maintaining a high standard of evidence-based information production, following appropriate criteria for accreditation by professional organisations. This could include support with research, liaising with external experts for input and review, copy writing, proof reading and production (including design).
• Work with colleagues, healthcare professionals and people with lived experience of lupus to codevelop high quality information resources.
• Communicate health-related updates, such as website articles on changes to access to vaccinations.
• Respond to emailed queries related to lupus and related conditions, health system access, treatments, etc.
• Support with co-ordinating the production of the charity’s magazine 3 times a year. 

Other

• Uphold the values and expectations of LUPUS UK.
• Carry out other duties relevant to your post as reasonably required.
• Occasional evening and weekend working and travel may be required to support our broader activities. 

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience communicating complex information in plain language, considering the needs of the intended audience.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced mental health professional or therpaist to join our small team in Newcastle to support men in suicidal crisis. Our Newcastle centre opened in November and we need to recruit to expand our small of therpaists team to meet the growing needs of our service.

We will work with you and train you to develop your therapeutic skills to offer our semi-structured psychologically informed intervention. You will support the centre user and their supporter(s) to recover from the suicidal crisis and maintain their safety. 

The Charity

James’ Place exists to stop men dying by suicide. We opened our first centre in 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, in 2022 we launched our second centre in London, and this year we opened our third centre in Newcastle. To date, we have supported over 2,300 men. James’ Place is a therapy centre for men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis, and it was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. It offers men a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.   

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential Qualifications

 A Profession such as Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker registered with NMC, HPC, BASW. 

Or

Therapists registered with IAPT, BACP, UKCP, BABCP. 

Or

Psychology Graduate with experience of working as a Psychology Assistant or extensive experience of working within secondary mental health services. 

Essential Knowledge/Experience

Demonstrable experience working with adults experiencing acute psychological distress. 

Demonstrable knowledge of the impact of suicide on communities and individuals. 

Demonstrable knowledge of social and other factors which could lead to suicidal thinking and actions. 

Demonstrable knowledge of the particular difficulties contributing to male suicide. 

Evidence of being able to deliver a therapeutic session.
