To offer practical and emotional support to children and young people aged 0-16 years, who are living with the effects of Domestic Abuse and Violence, and overcoming the traumatic impact on their lives. The support is offered during their time in the refuge, through the transition from refuge to their new home and ongoing support in the community. Support is also offered to children who live in the wider community who access the service independently. To liaise and work together with all other agencies involved with the families, in order to meet their ongoing needs appropriately and effectively. The post is restricted to females only due to the nature of the role. The occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

What you'll do:

* To ensure that the needs of children and young people in the refuge are assessed as part of admission and the duration of their stay
* To plan and implement a programme of therapeutic and recreational activities for children and young people living both at the refuge and in the community, as well as play-work and activity trips * To provide individual, age appropriate key working sessions for children of all ages. With a focus on safeguarding, including risk and safety planning, emotional & physical health & wellbeing, education and social & family networks
* To encourage and support mothers to build loving and consistent relationships with their children * To work in partnership with all agencies in relation to safeguarding children following both local and national approaches around Early Help Assessments, CIN, TAF and Child Protection Protocols
* To act as the Lead Practitioner in early help assessments and using early help principles to develop support plans for sub-threshold families, ensuring effective multi-agency involvement.
* To write and contribute to the completion of Reports for Courts and Children's Social Care Conferences and meetings regarding the families, when required.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the smooth running of day to day operations of the Central team.

The successful candidate will:

· Act as first point of contact for team enquiries.

· Build relationships and communicate well with Faith Guides, Local Mission Partners and volunteers.

· Book venues (e.g. churches) and oversee administration for events in the region.

· Assist with the registration and data management of local Faith Guides and volunteers.

· Provide administrative support for holidays, including DBS clearance of volunteers (and attending at least one event to provide first hand support).

· Manage personal data within GDPR and SU guidelines, including records of staff compliance (e.g. safeguarding, first aid).

· Help streamline and improve team communications to supporters, ensuring informative, well presented (print and email) prayer updates are sent regularly within set deadlines.

· Help to keep the Central Team’s page on the Scripture Union website informative and up to date.

· Undertake other administrative, supportive, and promotional tasks, in line with SU’s Revealing Jesus strategy, as required by the Regional Mission Team Leader.

About the Role

CXK are recruiting a 2 Project Coaches to work on the ‘Steps to Success’project, delivered in partnership with East Sussex County Council (ESCC).

We are looking for a well-organised, highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Youth Worker (Youth Voice), supporting our mission to enable young people who are homeless, facing homelessness or unsafe to achieve independence and positive futures.
The successful candidate will work within the Youth Work Team to deliver our frontline drop-in service and support our weekly and monthly activities to all young people experiencing homelessness.
You’ll specialise in ensuring a diverse range of young people’s voices are heard, facilitating inclusive activities which increase youth participation across all our services and leading on the delivery of our youth forums. We have an ambitious plan to improve and accelerate our youth voice strategy and this role will be at the heart of this delivery.
You should be experienced in designing, planning and facilitating a range of activities and group work with and for young people and be able to work dynamically in a fast-paced day centre environment. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about youth engagement and skilled in bringing out the ideas, voices and opinions of young people to shape service delivery. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in running participatory youth projects, co-production, youth engagement sessions and/or community engagement.
The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys working collaboratively across our organisation. This role also includes working closely with our Campaigns, Impact and Policy team to ensure young people’s voices are at the heart of our external campaigning work.

We are now recruiting for a Lead Coach in Brighton - an outstanding opportunity to work as part of a local church to deliver the Spear Programme.

You’ll be working with the local church to manage the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. Over the last 20 years, Spear has supported more than 10,000 young people across the UK with the work-ready skills and mindset they need to succeed in employment, no matter the challenges they face. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme
• Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room
• Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively
• Handling safeguarding
• Taking a lead on rating the work readiness of the trainees and making sure data is inputted and used correctly on salesforce
• Tracking trainee progress on the dashboards
• Liaising with volunteers for key programme engagement events such as mock interviews and external panels. Leading on briefings and communications with these volunteers

Delivery of Spear Career [20%]

• Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees

Training the Graduate Coach [10%]

• Contributing towards the training and developing of the Graduate Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback

Trainee recruitment [10%]

• Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics

Continuous professional development

• Continually engaging in professional development, including being part of Resurgo’s wider coaching programmes and possibly supporting on leading internal training such as Grad Coach Training

Active participation in and support for church team and mission

• As the Spear programme is run in partnership with a local church partner, you will establish a strong personal connection with the church to develop the engagement and backing of church members and help build a strong network of supporters for the Spear programme. As part of this you may be asked to speak at church/events and contribute to prayer meetings as per Resurgo’s Christian ethos and the mission of the church

About the role:

The Criminal Justice IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process, specialising in working with women whose domestic abuse cases are going through the police and criminal justice system and risk to children is a factor.  You will work to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. This role is part advocacy, part training/education and project work to improve response and early intervention to victim/survivors experiencing domestic abuse. You will be embedded in the community safety unit within the police, working with police professionals to ensure they adopt a trauma informed approach, can recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and are providing more holistic support. You will be the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site, upskilling fellow professionals and acting as a point of contact for any clients experiencing domestic abuse and support requirements from police and court at every stage. Attend the weekly specialist domestic violence court in Westminster as a domestic abuse agency representative to obtain court outcomes, support efficient case progression and seeking opportunity to increase survivor safety at every stage of the court process.

The IMPACT project was established over 10 years ago and has been working in partnership in Hammersmith and Fulham aiming to improve integrated working between criminal justice agencies from the point of reporting an incident to court and beyond; to reduce attrition through earlier intervention and improved outcomes for victims/survivors and their children; and to hold more perpetrators to account through the justice system. The IDVAs will inherit strong working relationships and a commitment from all parties to offering more trauma-informed services.  The borough has a focus on prioritising and developing good DA work in and this is an opportunity to be a major player in institutional change, ensuring that women accessing Family Children services for their children have an improved experience and that the local authorities are leading the way for all survivors engaging with their services.  

Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, and across parts of East London. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

About You:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse in various areas of need, with particular knowledge on children safeguarding/legislation. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with child safeguarding, needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

To be successful as the Criminal Justice IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

Job Description

This role plays a key part in advancing the fundraising of Duchenne UK to enable more investment into research, advancing treatments and supporting the DMD community.  A core part of this will be building relationships with key supporters, including our incredible Family and Friends Funds, corporate supporters and community of fundraisers.
