We have a unique and exciting opportunity for someone interested in gaining first-hand experience working on the frontlines of a fast-paced, guest-facing charity. 

Sufra has always been #MoreThanAFoodbank, and this role is key to Sufra’s journey in trialling different methods of supporting residents. We are partnering with SALIENT, a team of researchers who are working with the public, partners from local and national government, food charities, community support teams, and the food industry on a range of food-related trials. In particular, they will be conducting a trial at Sufra where a range of different support is offered to Food Bank guests. The aim of the trial is to assess the impact of these different methods, and hopefully come closer to learning what support our guests prefer to receive from our food bank service.

The ideal candidate will work well in a busy environment and will have great people skills. They will have some experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the public and potentially vulnerable individuals. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that register with the pilot project and will be confident answering queries confidently speaking about the trial. The candidate will work closely with the Food Aid Manager and SALIENT researchers to ensure accurate data tracking once participants are registered, including collating receipts, supporting with feedback interviews, capturing case studies and logging visits. The role will also include supporting the distribution of both parcels and vouchers and ensuring meticulous financial records of this are kept.

People skills are crucial to success in this role, as the successful candidate will be working alongside a range of people, ensuring that they are supported throughout the trial. Due to the diverse nature of Sufra guests, it would be beneficial for this candidate to speak Arabic, Somali, Farsi, or another community language.

This is an immensely rewarding role working in a dynamic charity built on an ethos of sharing, hospitality and inclusivity. Role Description

Supporting the smooth running of the SALIENT Food Trial, conducted at Sufra NW London. Supporting across the trial, focussing on participant recruitment, distributing different support methods and maintaining data throughout the trial. We hope to have this candidate in place by mid-August.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Guest Recruitment

• Sharing information about the research trial
• Leading the recruitment of the trial, checking guest eligibility and contacting Sufra Food Bank guests and clearly communicating the trial in a non-biased and informative manner.
• Answering queries and concerns from Sufra guests and current participants and obtain consent to share data with researchers.
• Anonymising data sets for sharing with researchers.
• Creating awareness of the study amongst Sufra Foodbank volunteers through briefings, sharing links to the study video and information sheets so they are informed of how the study will operate.

Pilot data collection and tracking

• Work alongside SALIENT researchers to maintain a dataset to track participation in research.
• Distributing different methods of support for participants, during usual Food Bank collection hours.
• Implementing financial tracking of transactions made, and ensuring all financial monitoring is up to date and accurate.
• Exploring methods to reengage and support participants with low attendance.

Other Duties

• Joining staff meetings once a month and updating the wider team on the progress of the trial.
• Ensuring that our health and safety protocols and policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensuring that the service reflects the ethos, values and core principles of the charity and oversee the project’s development, so it is continuously and sustainably meeting community needs as they evolve.
• Attending regular supervisions with your line manager and staff meetings with the wider team.
• Undertaking any other reasonable duties to support the operations of the charity.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Practitioner Assistive Technology, Band 7 to join our Assistive Technology Team. This role will require the successful candidate to provide a high quality, evidence based assistive technology service, promoting participation, communication and interaction for children and young people accessing The Children’s Trust Therapy Services. Additionally, you will develop and deliver the service, in collaboration with multidisciplinary health, therapy and education teams.

Our service delivery aims to promote outcome focussed interventions, safe care, function, and participation, of children and young people accessing home, school, and community life. You will provide clinical leadership within the area of assistive technology, across the therapy service, ensuring the delivery of child and family focused goal led interventions at a highly specialist level, for children and young people accessing The Children’s Trust School and in-patient neurorehabilitation services.

Role Requirements

• Lead the provision of high quality, evidence based assistive technology interventions, for children and young people attending The Children’s Trust School and receiving in-patient neurorehabilitation.
• Provide clinical leadership to the Assistive Technology Team, identifying service priorities, service delivery methods and standards of practice.
• Provide assessments for complex augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems
• Identify service needs for AAC and selection of appropriate hardware, software, access, and mounting options, as per organisational policies and procedures.
• Understanding of mainstream technologies in specialist support, assistive technology, and computer access.
• Knowledge of environmental control and powered mobility.
• Lead in the design and implementation of communication and technology resources.
• Maintain and disseminate specialist knowledge of eye-gaze control and the use of eye-tracking, within clinical assessment and management.
• Develop therapy goals, plans and methods, in collaboration with the child and family/carers, as well as the Multidisciplinary and Education teams, founded upon evidence-based practice.
• Be an autonomous Practitioner, with responsibility and overview for Assistive Technology interventions, and maintaining relevant records and reports.
• Work closely with all members of the Multidisciplinary Team, as well as the child and family, to provide a fully integrated approach to the overall management of the child. This will include any home/school visits, professional child related meetings and/ or appointments, as required.
• Identify and utilise specialist assessments and relevant outcome measures, for children/young people receiving assistive technology interventions.
• Work flexibly across site as needed e.g. with the team in the Children’s Trust School
• Work flexibly in terms of hours, in order to meet the needs of the service, including an early evening (weekly) and one weekend day, per calendar month.
• Represent the Therapy Team and The Children’s Trust when appropriate, deputising for the Team as required.
• Undertake specialist assessments, externally responding to national and international requests.
• Act as the Lead Professional for complex case management and coordination, as and when required.
• Actively participate in, support and Chair relevant Multidisciplinary Team meetings, as and when required.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Contract
This is an interim role from September 2024 to May 2025. This role can be either full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE) -  responsibilities will be adjusted proportionally for part-time candidates.

We are a delivery organisation providing frontline educational services for young people. The role will be based at one of our centres. We are an organisation with team members at different stages of their career, including many in their first roles: We are committed to nurturing talent and providing a developmental culture for all. Our central operations team works in-person 4 days per week (or 3 days for a 0.8 FTE staff member) with 1 day from home.

Location

Salary

• £52,000 from September 2024.

Role Purpose

This role is focused on maximising comms-based engagement across the GDI Hub’s portfolio, supporting GDI Hub’s growing outreach across project-based deliverables and organisational comms channels (e.g. social media, websites, content generation).

The post holder will work closely across GDI Hub comms team to support delivery across the organisational portfolio – with a focus on key regular outputs, reactive queries and organisational communications. This role will involve both administrative tasks, and creative content generation, at an anticipated volume of 50% per area.

We are looking for someone with strong administrative, communications and digital skills, with a passion for building impact and reach. The candidate will need the experience to deliver public facing comms outputs, while also building personable relationships. The Access to Healthcare Organiser will help shape Migrants Organise’s strategy to grow an organised refugee and migrant solidarity movement as part of the Patients Not Passports campaign, alongside our partners at Medact, in order to bring about systemic change to end the hostile and racist immigration enforcement system in the NHS. The Organiser's work will include identifying, recruiting and supporting people charged or denied healthcare and facilitating their participation in the Patients Not Passports campaign, as well as supporting migrant movement builders to organise, lead and deliver organised and effective social justice actions locally, regionally and nationally alongside supporters and allies. 

Westway Trust is a community-guided organisation located in North Kensington which runs an adult learning programme of accredited and non-accredited provision across a range of subjects. The primary responsibility of the Digital Skills Tutor will be to design and deliver high quality, learner-centred teaching, and learning and assessment experiences to our employed and unemployed adult learners from Entry level to Level 1, while supporting the Adult and Community Learning Manager to achieve the Trust’s strategic objectives.

Teaching

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

• Practical work experience as an ICT Tutor, demonstrating hands-on knowledge and skills applicable to real-world scenarios
• Experience of teaching adult learners and an understanding of appropriate teaching strategies in a similar role
• Experience of devising course outlines and schemes of work
• Experience of managing mixed groups of learners
• Knowledge and experience of working with a variety of exam boards
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team

Desirable

• Understanding of the RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement in non-accredited learning) system

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Westway Trust as an Adult Learning Tutor (ESOL), starting in September 2024. 

Westway Trust is a community-guided organisation located in North Kensington which runs an adult learning programme of accredited and non-accredited provision across a range of subjects. We aim to enable people to progress in work, in learning and in life.  Our learners come from a variety of backgrounds and have different prior experiences of learning.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced ESOL Tutor to design and deliver high quality learner-centered teaching and assessment experiences to our adult learners from pre-entry level up to level 1, whilst supporting the Adult and Community Learning Manager to achieve the Trust’s strategic objectives.

This is a sessional term-time role.  Working hours will be discussed and agreed at the interview stage.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Teaching

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching and learning sessions, workshops, and tutorials in line with the curriculum requirements and the needs of individual learners, ensuring learning objectives are met.
• Assess learners’ abilities and identify areas for improvement, tailoring teaching and learning methods and resources accordingly.
• Develop and deliver consistently engaging and interactive sessions, utilising a variety of teaching techniques and materials to enhance learners’ understanding and engagement with the subject/topic.
• Set and mark assignments, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to learners to support their learning and improvement.
• Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, actively promoting learner participation, motivation, and confidence in professional development.

Administration

• To identify materials and equipment/resource needs to assist the provision of teaching and learning by students.
• Maintaining up to date course files and submitting accurate data on attendance and achievement within agreed deadlines.
• Preparing groups of learners for accredited assessment (exam or portfolio) & non-accredited assessment (RARPA), marking assessments and taking part in internal moderation and/or consultation meetings with appropriate Trust staff.
• Providing feedback on appropriate documentation for example observation, IQA reports etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

• Proven successful track record of planning and delivering high quality teaching of accredited and non-accredited provision in a relevant subject and at appropriate level(s).
• Experience of teaching adult learners of mixed abilities and an understanding of appropriate teaching strategies in a similar role.
• Experience of devising course outlines and schemes of work.
• Experience of assessing and recording progress, both in accredited and non-accredited learning and supporting learners.
• Knowledge and experience of working with a variety of exam boards.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team.

Desirable

• Understanding of the RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement in non-accredited learning) system.
• Experience of working/teaching refugees and or asylum seekers.
• The ability to speak another language.

Qualifications:

About the role

We are recruiting a Programmes Manager to work across projects in our Sector Support programme. Working closely with the Head of Sector Support and Grants, they will manage relationships with beneficiaries and partners, coordinating monitoring and evaluation, and ongoing development of grants programmes. Terms and Conditions

• Location: This role can be based at the MAF UK Offices in Folkstone, Kent or optionally could be in the Oxford, Cambridge arc as we seek to launch a new hub in the Milton Keynes area, maximising our engagement with a thriving local aerospace and charity sector region.  Up to two days a week in our Folkstone Office might be initially required.We welcome hybrid working in line with our flexible working policy, the needs of the business, the requirements of the role and your location. The Corporate Partnerships Manager will support KSS's fundraising with corporate partners, businesses, and business-related organisations across all regions (Kent, Surrey and Sussex). The role will help to drive current activity towards its full potential and find ways to grow corporate fundraising through strong relationship management and stewardship.

Main Responsibilities:

- Effectively manage corporate relationships to ensure that these organisations are well nurtured and supported, and that they receive adequate recognition for their contribution towards KSS's continued operation.
- To retain all corporate partners where possible and increase income from our current donors year on year. By having a 12-month plan for key partners and a plan/journey for how to elevate low level donors.
- To create collateral and fundraising mechanisms to support the 12-month plan in Canva and with the assistance of the marcomms team such as: fundraising calendar, flyers for events, t-shirts, seasonal fundraisers e.g. at Easter Guess the eggs in the jar.
- For key partners create a yearly 1 pager impact report of their donation and a more general report for other partners.
- To plan and deliver at least two networking/stewardship events a year at Redhill and Rochester for current donors with the support of the events team where required.
- Oversee all day-to-day activity with our corporate relationships, ensuring that activity is effectively coordinated and that broader teams support delivery (e.g. volunteer development, events and supporter experience).
- Proactively research and recommend opportunities for KSS to increase the value of corporate relationships including (but not limited to) donations, staff fundraising, payroll giving and participation in events.
- To own and manage the monthly visits to Redhill and to plan visits for key partners separately to these days.
- To be responsible for and own the sponsorship budget sourcing sponsorship for KSS events from existing donors and new donors.
- Support colleagues with seeking corporate sponsorship and involvement in KSS owned events.

About you:

- Experience of providing excellent customer service to a portfolio of customers, donors, stakeholders or corporates.
- Experience of writing cases for support, producing fundraising materials and creating account plans.
- Adaptable, tactful and diplomatic when speaking with members of the public or corporate supporters.
