The Role
As an Outreach Practitioner you will support people who are homeless or vulnerably housed to increase access to substance misuse support, to sustain accommodation and ultimately move into settled accommodation.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
- You will deliver satellite provisions at co-locations such as GPs, probation, hostels etc.
- You will deliver harm reduction, brief interventions as well as being responsible for the care planning, risk assessing, and case management for service users allocated to you.
- You will have previous voluntary or paid experience of working in a client facing role and using active listening skills on a day-to-day basis.
Skills and Qualifications
- Ideally the successful candidate will have experience within a similar role as well as experience within the sector.
- You must be proactive problem solver, empathetic as well as motivated to do this role as well as being passionate about delivering a high standard of care to some of their most vulnerable service users.
- You must me comfortable with lone working as well as being at ease working in a variety of settings.

The Housing Advice Practitioner will by providing tailored advice and guidance through mainly remote online or phone support, as well as in person housing advice at a weekly housing advice surgery in the community. The role will include advocacy, coordination with legal services, workshops, and ensuring sustained support for families.
This new Information and Advice Support Service is established to a) provide a light touch swift response service for less complex housing issues; and b) develop mechanisms for the early identification of emerging housing problems.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate support worker to deliver housing advice and practical support to individuals and families. This role involves responding to enquiries, conducting housing surgeries, and running workshops to empower clients with the knowledge and skills to address their housing-related issues. The successful candidate will work with clients to identify their needs and offer tailored solutions to help them achieve sustainable housing outcomes. In this role, you will be working in partnership with community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to address their housing issues. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Mind BLMK team and relevant key post holders.
- Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
- Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.

What could my day look like?
The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.
In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

Bereavement Support Practitioner – Outreach Scotland

With thanks to a grant from The Scottish Lottery Community Fund, Child Bereavement UK are able to build on the success of the well-established services based in Glasgow to begin to offer a hybrid model of outreach bereavement support to individuals, couples, families and in group settings, across Edinburgh and the Forth Valley. This is an exciting opportunity for the post holder to support the Bereavement Support Service Lead in Scotland in the provision and evaluation of a developing and extending service that ensures families and professionals can access high quality bereavement support in situations where a baby or child of any age has died, or where children or young people up to the age of 25 are bereaved.
The role will include:
- To support the Bereavement Support Service Lead in developing and establishing Child Bereavement UK’s service as a source of advice and support for families and professionals.
- To manage a caseload and provide a programme of individual and couple sessions and to develop and provide facilitated Groups for Parents bereaved of a baby or child.
- To contribute to the provision of a programme of individual and family support sessions, Groups for Families, Groups for Young People and school liaison.
- To outreach with diverse organisations and community groups including BAME, LGBQT+ organisations to positively support inclusion and engagement of these groups and individuals, and their access to bereavement support services.
- To support the Bereavement Support Service Lead in the selection, training and support of volunteers for the Bereavement Service.
Applicants should have a recognised, health, social care, or counselling qualification, experience in working with children, young people and families, excellent communication skills and be passionate about supporting bereaved families and those whose roles bring them into contact with these families.

Partnerships are important to achieving these goals, so you’ll also nurture and build effective relations and work collaboratively with other organisations, as well as community activists and local authorities to create long term change.
What We’re Looking For: We seek applicants committed to challenging discrimination and working collaboratively for justice for Gypsy and Traveller communities. While specific experience in community development is valuable, we are quite open-minded about the best combination of skills and experience the successful candidate could have, from various professional or community organising backgrounds. The ability to balance competing demands on your time, and keep on top of multiple priorities across different communities and London Boroughs is a must though, as are strong interpersonal and communication skills in a variety of settings.

The Worker Support Centre (WSC) is a Scotland based charity that promotes decent work and prevents exploitation. About the role
This role is focussed on advancing care workers’ rights by supporting WSC’s peer engagement work including actively conducting outreach to workers and facilitating worker education and power sessions. In this role you will support WSC meet two of its four core objectives to work together with workers to claim spaces for power and representation in decision making; and to build the field of knowledge about workers and their experiences to influence policy. This role also includes handling a small caseload, providing health and social care workers with information, support and impartial advice with any issues that may arise during outreach or sessions. This role will work closely together with our Peer Engagement team and Outreach Caseworker.

Main tasks and responsibilities
Peer engagement and outreach
· To develop, together with WSC’s Peer Engagement team, a programme of outreach and engagement to workers in social care.
· To conduct social engagement and outreach activities in person and remotely.
· To contribute to the development of WSC’s programme of activities to build worker solidarity.
· To contribute to and translate information for communication with workers on their rights and entitlements and to support WSC Worker Power work.
· Liaising with community and civil society organisations to build strong community networks.
· To ensure that those in need of support access WSC’s Casework service, and/or are signposted to available services, including legal advice.
Casework
· To provide high-quality casework support around housing, debt and employment rights;
· To monitor and respond to email, phone and message enquiries from workers.
· To liaise with external services, including lawyers on legal advice sessions and make appointments for workers to access such advice.
· To support workers to navigate support and advice from external agencies;
· To record worker information using Advice Pro case management software.
Participation
· Support participatory analysis workshops with workers to jointly analyse concerns articulated in order to establish standards workers would like to see upheld for health and social care workers.
· Actively support workers to engage in advocacy, including by providing worker-centred briefings on advocacy processes and meetings, ensuring meaningful participation and leadership by workers.
· Engage with workers via social media and other online tools, through clear communications outputs.

Person Specification
1) KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Understanding of how NGOs operate and knowledge of the issues on which WSC works: labour rights, migrant rights, organising, anti-trafficking and human rights.

Wintercomfort works with people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or with a history of homelessness. We provide services to aid every stage of recovery - from immediate basic welfare needs to long term help in identifying and dealing with the problems which are undermining their stability, and enabling them to engage with education, employment and specialist health services. National statistics rank the numbers of rough sleepers in Cambridge within the highest 20 UK local authorities.
Today, the charity is the only day-time service in the city, providing year-round advice and support for homeless or vulnerably housed people. Over the past three decades Wintercomfort has continued to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the homeless community.
About the Project
The Reconnection Project Worker will provide holistic and practical assistance to help reconnect people to the area where they are locally connected, either via a homeless application or outside of the statutory pathway. You will provide clients with a personalised case management support plan leading to long- term housing outcomes.
About You
The successful candidate will have Previous experience of support work that effectively engages individuals with opportunities for self-development, an understanding of substance misuse, mental health and issues associated with social exclusion and a constructive, flexible and positive approach towards working with vulnerable excluded people.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive Service User assessments; offer support and advice around reconnection or accommodation offers and enter clients and service offer details onto Inform and other data bases.
- To draw up effective action plans with Service Users and through case management offer support and advice around reconnection.
- To keep abreast of current housing legislation, welfare benefit legislation and other matters relevant to successfully support and enable Service Users to move on.
- To work closely with relevant Local authorities and Partners to identify and assess Service Users for the reconnection service- to prevent rough sleeping.
- To work firmly and persuasively with individuals to explain the role of the reconnection service and the benefits of reconnection.
- To provide as appropriate Service User advocacy to secure suitable accommodation in their area of local connection, or in some other location.
- To support reconnection as necessary for example through arranging; travel arrangements; accommodation offers, family mediation, the initiation or reinstatement of care support package.
- To actively collect follow up information with regards to the outcome of reconnections and report to the Line manager any need/gaps in the key area that is acting as a barrier to successful reconnection
- To liaise effectively with the Outreach Workers, Housing Officers, police and other agencies.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join the BFYC team to support young carers in West Oxfordshire.
Working closely with the youth work team, you will help to provide support and advice to young carers by devising, developing, implementing and managing a programme of social activities for young carers (this could include trips, training, emotional 121 support and other activities).
Job Description - Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for Young Carers, liaising with other agencies to help ensure the best outcomes for Young Carers;
