Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and oversee the fixed asset register, including accounting for property, plant, and equipment.
- Manage accounting for deferred capital grants, property disposals, and the financial aspects of new housing properties.
- Prepare annual statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist the Senior Financial Accountant in delivering accurate monthly management accounts and supporting the year-end audit process.
- Ensure financial reporting is clear and targeted to diverse audiences, including internal teams, external regulators, and auditors.
- Drive process improvements across financial controls, policies, and procedures, and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Part-qualified accountant (ACMA/ACCA/ACA) with relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
- Experience in statutory reporting and knowledge of UK and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple deadlines.
- Experience with Fixed Asset Register
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software; experience with housing-related systems is a plus.

We're looking for an experienced High Value Proposition Manager - Nature & Climate to join our fundraising team on a 24-month contract. What it's like to work here
The Fundraising team is dynamic, ambitious and focused on making things happen; playing a vital role in enabling the National Trust to deliver its purpose. Our team sits within the Support and Revenue Directorate, which brings together our supporter-facing income streams from Membership to Fundraising through to our Commercial teams.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, and you will be expected to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
Please aware that this role will involve some travel to work with National Trust colleagues and visit our projects & properties across the UK.
What you'll be doing
You'll be working in a small team developing new Nature & Climate propositions and proposals for our high-value audiences, made up of Corporations, Major Donors, Grant Makers and Trusts & Foundations. You'll be supporting the Head of Proposition Development and working with core fundraising teams to enable fundraisers to develop propositions themselves. You'll ensure your propositions algin with broader National Trust strategy, working with senior leaders to understand funding opportunities relevant to donor motivations.
You'll work with the existing audience insight team to understand opportunities for compelling propositions that are accurate, impactful and inspiring. You'll engage with project, programme and finance teams to embed propositions development in ways of working. You'll provide coaching and training to colleagues within fundraising and beyond, to help create a community of practice for colleagues working on propositions across the National Trust.
Who we're looking for
For this role, we're looking for someone who has:
- Ability to interpret project budgets and work with project and Finance teams to build together packages of work that respond to donor motivations and are sized to the funding opportunity.
- Creative and innovative product/propositions development experience – spotting opportunities and crafting strong narratives.
- Creative writing skills – skilled storyteller, ability to make a story compelling, contagious and inspire action; strong editorial, copy writing and proof-reading skill.
- Ability to interpret complex content into engaging content and effective calls to action.
- Experience of building relationships across organisational boundaries, demonstrating tact and negotiating sensitively.
- Ability to coach and provide training for fundraisers and other National Trust colleagues to build proposition development capabilities across National Trust.
- Experience of developing and moderating workshops with internal colleagues to build creative funding packages and propositions.
- Experience of the UK Charity Sector, and in-depth knowledge and experience of fundraising with a proven understanding of donor motivations and interest.

The details of the role
- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: £30,900 - £35,000 pa, depending on experience
- Role type: full-time (36¼ hours/week), but we are open to discussing the possibility of the role being part-time
- Location: Blue Boar House, Oxford (UCCF’s office). We offer a hybrid arrangement where Tuesdays are our core day for in person working, and team members have flexibility to work from home for two days a week.

QuarterFive are delighted to be partnering with The Orpheus Centre, which supports young disabled adults to live and work as independently as they are able. They do this through developing their confidence and independent living skills, using arts-based, bespoke learning, work experience and supported living programmes delivered from their base in Surrey. All of their learners are learning disabled and some are also physically disabled.
The Orpheus Centre is located at a beautiful converted farm that provides teaching and performance spaces and self-contained accommodation. However, their success in enabling these young people to thrive means that they are over subscribed every year and have outgrown the current facilities.
The capital appeal will convert a building next to the Centre to allow for more learners to enrol, in particular more learners with more complex needs. Currently, the quiet phase is projected for 2024-2027, with the build phase being projected for 2027-2029.
The Head of Capital Appeal will sit on the SMT, reporting to the CEO, and be responsible for leading a small team of fundraisers also dedicated to raising funds for the build. While there will be a team to support, the Head of Capital Appeal will spend most of their time personally fundraising as well. There are existing opportunities, including a well-connected President (also the Founder), a Capital Appeal Committee which will be set up, and an existing pool of donors. A focus on new business, however, will also be crucial for the success of the project.
As Head of Capital Appeal, you will:
- Develop, implement and monitor the private and public phases of the capital appeal strategy to enable the Orpheus Centre to meet the appeal target
- Establish a high performing capital appeal committee of volunteers to cultivate and steward potential significant donors
- Deliver target income from a range of sources, primarily major donors, trusts and foundations and statutory sources, but not discounting other viable income streams
- Personally secure significant major gifts for the capital project
- Design, recruit and lead a team of fundraisers to support on fundraising for the capital project
- Research and identify potential funders for the capital project
- Work closely with the build project team, to ensure clear communication between the funding and the building of the project
- Provide timely reports for Senior Management Team and Trustees to facilitate effective cash flow management and decision making
Ideal skills and experience:
- Significant experience in a senior high value fundraising role
- Demonstrable experience of securing 5- and 6-figure major gifts
- Extensive track record in working with trusts, major donors and statutory funders
- Experience of line managing teams of fundraisers
- Ability to adapt to different audiences, including donors, senior volunteers, team members, learners and all colleagues in the wider organisation
- Experience in managing senior level volunteers and fundraising committees
- Understanding of disability language and issues
- Ability to demonstrate an appreciation of the arts

The service provides 10 weekly universal activities across East Ham over 49 weeks of the year for young people aged 9-19 including:
- Three outdoor MUGA sports sessions per week.
- Three youth hub session per week which includes branched off projects such as Junior Gym, screen acting, Muay Thai, healthy cookery sessions, calming crafts and sports.
- EKO Pathways after school delivery sessions, helping to support children with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.

- Year-round trips and residentials
- Youth Theatre
- Delivery of three-week summer holiday scheme which involves volunteering placement with accredited Sports Leadership Award for 30 participants and employment for additional young people. This includes Stepping Up life skills training and social action campaign planning workshops.

We're looking for an experienced High Value Proposition Manager - Curation & Experiences to join our fundraising team on a 24-month contract. You'll play a critical role in the Fundraising Growth programme: an internal change programme that will strengthen and scale fundraising capabilities across the National Trust so that we can create a step-change in our fundraising income - essential to delivering the Trust’s new 2035 strategy.

The Fundraising team is dynamic, ambitious and focused on making things happen; playing a vital role in enabling the National Trust to deliver its purpose. Our team sits within the Support and Revenue Directorate, which brings together our supporter-facing income streams from Membership to Fundraising through to our Commercial teams.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, and you will be expected to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. What you'll be doing
You'll be working in a small team developing new Curation & Experiences propositions and proposals for our high-value audiences, made up of Corporations, Major Donors, Grant Makers and Trusts & Foundations. You'll be supporting the Head of Proposition Development and working with core fundraising teams to enable fundraisers to develop propositions themselves. You will ensure your propositions algin with broader National Trust strategy, working with senior leaders to understand funding opportunities relevant to donor motivations.
You'll work with the existing audience insight team to understand opportunities for compelling propositions that are accurate, impactful and inspiring. You'll engage with project, programme and finance teams to embed propositions development in ways of working. The AFRUCA Child Protection Family Support Service sits within AFRUCA as one of our most impactful programmes targeting families from a range of ethnic backgrounds across England and Wales. The service works closely with local authorities children’s services in cases involving families on child protection plans or in court proceedings. We provide direct one to one training and support for parents to aid their ability to provide appropriate parenting and ensure a safer, happier home environment for their children.
The AFRUCA Child Protection Service currently has a team of five qualified social workers and supports over 50 families each year. We also provide a therapeutic service where children are being reunified with their parents. We are establishing a child protection legal drop in service for families in contact with children’s services and an advocacy service for parents in the child protection system.
Most of our families are referred by local authorities children’s services as a result of cultural and religious practices which are deemed harmful to children’s well-being. We offer qualified social workers who do not wish to work in the statutory sector with an alternative approach to practising social work where empathy, kindness and support is key to our work with families. Our ultimate aim is a reduction of children in Black and Ethnic communities going into or remaining in foster care.
