Who we are

Bonny Downs Community Association (BDCA) is a dynamic community-led charity that has been serving the residents of the disadvantaged East Ham area in the London Borough of Newham since 1998. BDCA is registered charity number 1071625 and registered company limited by guarantee number 3625785. Our motto is, “Working together to change lives and transform our community”.

Our vision is of a thriving community where everyone feels connected, valued and fulfilled.

We strive to make a real and lasting difference to the quality of life of local people by promoting community cohesion, encouraging healthier lifestyles, tackling isolation and addressing the root causes of poverty.

BDCA is a vibrant and inclusive charity whos mission is to bring people together, break down barriers and build people up. Our values are Inclusion, Celebration and Empowerment. In November 2017 we gained a PQASSO Level 1 Quality mark, andour independent assessor commented that: “You have a fantastic group of trustees, volunteers and staff – in fact I don’t think I have ever come across a more enthusiastic and friendly group!”
