We work collaboratively across teams to optimise workflows, improve data science capabilities, and support decision-making through robust research and data analysis.

About the role

The Associate Data Scientist will play a key role in supporting quantitative research within the Insights Hub, particularly for projects like the UK Civil Society Almanac and research surveys. The position involves conducting high-quality data analysis, developing machine learning models, and enhancing data processes using tools like Python and SQL. You'll collaborate closely with the Data Scientist and Research and Insights Manager, contributing to large-scale data analysis and supporting the team’s broader research efforts.

We’re Recruiting – Fundraising Manager 

From your UK home-base you’ll be flying the flag for the charity outside of Wales as a Fundraiser. You’ll put on quality fundraising events and build strong relationships through our reputation and Welsh links making a difference when it comes to people with cancer.

Picture being our Fundraising Manager and putting on fundraising events such as dinners and corporate sponsored events like golf or racing days. And, linking with London in Wales Week promoting networking opportunities with grant-givers, major donors, commercial, and corporate sources. Plus, you’ll help manage and set up our high value business network committees outside of Wales which we’ve already made a start on.

In this Fundraising job you can expect to be doing things like:

•  Sales & Relationship Management – you’ll be looking after a portfolio of our new and established individual and corporate high net worth donors
• Business Growth Development – you’ll have five figure income targets to meet so will plan your client cultivation work to report and present how your delivery is going

The details

Working 28 hours per week flexibly you’ll need a UK work base. The salary is £29,600 (or £37,000 FTE)

Days and hours can be built in and around our standard operating week as set out in our staff benefits. We’re open to making the working week fit into your own lifestyle and the nature and needs of this type of Fundraising role. With a lot of autonomy in where you run events to meet your annual target there may need to be some travel to a city/location where you’re generating the income or some events you run may be in evenings or weekends. 

Around going to work events for the role the rest of the job can be done from home anywhere in the UK. Our Cardiff City Centre Head Office is always available to you too. Most Team meetings and day to day colleague work is handled remotely but we’d expect to see you in the office for things such as our quarterly team meetings.

PINF is the first charity in the UK that exists to support high-quality journalism. We exist at the cutting edge of charity law and need an experienced charity professional to make sure we do things properly. 

As Head of Operations & Governance, you will be responsible for overseeing the back-office operations of the charity. You will be a key point of contact for the team and support the Executive Director to ensure smooth, efficient and compliant operations.

You will be a senior member of the team, responsible for ensuring that PINF operates within its legal and regulatory framework, including in relation to charity, corporate, tax, employment and data protection regulations. The role involves liaising with the Chair, Board of Trustees, Executive Director, legal advisors and regulators to support best practice in financial management, governance, risk management and compliance.  

Duties and responsibilities 

• Financial Management 

• Ensure consistent delivery and quality of finance operations, including transactions processing, which will involve managing a bookkeeping service.

• Prepare and monitor annual budgets, management accounts and project budgets.

• Lead on the financial aspects of fundraising, contract management, and funder reporting. Including managing restricted and unrestricted funding. 

• Oversee the process of preparing statutory accounts, including liaising with accountants and auditors.

• Maintain internal controls and policies to protect assets, prevent fraud, and ensure business continuity. 

• Participate in the Finance & Fundraising Committee and support the Treasurer to plan and deliver meetings. 

• Prepare financial reports for board meetings and engage in board discussions.

• Governance 

• Manage our annual governance cycle, working closely with the Chair, Treasurer and Executive Director to ensure legal compliance and to plan and prepare for Board meetings including taking appropriate minutes.

• Manage the organisational risk framework including identifying emerging risks and working with the Executive Director to mitigate them.

• Companies House and Charity Commission filings.

• Develop and maintain a suite of policy to ensure PINF meets its obligations as a charity and an employer.

The u3a movement is one of the largest member organisations in the UK with over 400,000 active members. Role Summary:

This is an opportunity for a well-rounded accountant to join the Bild group of charities. The post-holder will be responsible for all management accounts across a group of four charities, whose combined turnover is circa £4m per year.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial controls
• Prepare monthly management accounts, reports, and financial statements
• Responsible for development of management reporting

• Meeting regularly with budget holders to review financial performance and outstanding commitments.

• Manage payroll, tax returns, and financial reporting for funders

• Support the Business and Finance Director in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
• Support the Business and Finance Director with the annual audit process

Location: Any UK Trust Office - hybrid working and an expectation to travel when necessary

The White Rose Forest (WRF) is the Community Forest for North and West Yorkshire and was voted Community Forest of the Year in 2024, in recognition of our leading role within the England’s Community Forests network. At our heart we are a partnership, working closely with local, regional and national Government, as well as our National Parks, local businesses, landowners and community organisations in Yorkshire to plant trees where they are needed the most. 2025 is an important year for the WRF as we set out our ambitious plans and targets for woodland establishment and management in North and West Yorkshire over the next 25 years and publish our new 5-year Action Plan.  To help us deliver these plans, we are recruiting for a talented Development Manager to join our WRF core team. The White Rose Forest Development Manager is a new role that will be responsible for the development and delivery of a new fundraising function and strategy for the White Rose Forest, with support from the White Rose Forest Programme Director, the wider White Rose Forest team, partners and other stakeholders.

We are looking for a confident and experienced fundraiser who can draw on their previous record of success in a similar role to build relationships with a range of potential funders and secure the best opportunities to grow our non-Government project and unrestricted income. From setting up a charitable function for the White Rose Forest to developing our fundraising strategy, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape this new role. You will also be able to call on the expertise and experience within the Community Forest Trust and our England’s Community Forests network to support your work.

The Development Manager will be employed through the Community Forest Trust on behalf of the White Rose Forest and will work as part of the WRF core team. The post holder will have access to all systems available to the wider team, and training opportunities as required.

The Development Manager, as with all members of the central WRF team, will work from home without an office base. However, there is the requirement to attend monthly meetings in locations spread across North and West Yorkshire and at other times as required by the needs of the organisation. You well therefore require the ability to travel independently to such locations.

AMOSSHE The Student Services Organisation is looking for a new Head of Engagement and Operations. In this role you’ll support our Executive Director in leading AMOSSHE as a senior leader. You’ll be responsible for handling operational management, which includes acting as the Deputy Director for the organisation. You’ll oversee strategic areas involving member engagement, ensuring the effective delivery of our membership services, and driving strategic initiatives. You’ll have line management responsibilities for the team. This is a new role and an opportunity to make a real difference to our professional association.
