The Role:
Dynamic Trustees needed, with charity and commercial skills, to support mental health CIO. With an ambitious development programme up and running, we need to expand our Trustee Board. This is an exciting opportunity to join us at a crucial time of growing demand for our services.
About Us:
Evolve Counselling is a long-established charitable social enterprise, providing low cost, affordable or funded mental health counselling to adults in mainly Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. Our counselling community is made up of 50 – 60 qualified self-employed practitioners, working part-time. We deliver talking therapies to adults – online and in person. Our service delivers around 500 counselling sessions per month to a broad range of individuals, many of whom would not otherwise be able to access counselling support. Evolve also provides supervision, reflective practice, critical incident support, and mental health awareness and related training, to organisations and businesses large and small.
What We’re Looking For:
Our Trustee Board is currently drawn from the counselling and therapies community, plus commercial and other charity backgrounds. Now, with crucial development of the CIO ahead, we are looking for new members to expand the Board to its maximum ten places and to gain skills and insight from an equal, diverse and inclusive group that takes in business skills, knowledge of charities, and experience of not-for-profit finances to make growth plans a reality.
The Board will keep us on track with good governance through oversight of our work and will also help our keen new CEO to secure a sound financial base from which to grow our operations to meet the ever-increasing demand for our services.

Fundraising Volunteer responsibilities
· Organise, advertise, and promote fundraising activities to raise vital funds to improve animal welfare.
· Plan and participate in organised events for fundraising over an agreed period.
· Communicate all planned activities with staff and other volunteers.
· Work alongside other volunteers, staff, and members of the public, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.

About the Orpheus Centre
The Orpheus Centre is a charity and college which supports young disabled adults aged 18-25 to learn essential life skills, gain formal qualifications and prepare for future employment.
There are currently 66 students with 21 living on site in Godstone, Surrey. Students come from across the UK and all have a love of the arts.
Started by lyricist and musician Sir Richard Stilgoe, the organisation offers learning, care and development opportunities at the college and in the wider community, working with professional artists, businesses and other charities.

Time commitment
The time commitment is between 10 and 15 days per annum, including four Board meetings including the AGM (mainly in person), four committee meetings (mainly virtual), one or two awaydays and ad-hoc attendance.
What will you be doing?
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of Orpheus, developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document and with legal and regulatory guidelines.
The role of the Learning and Care Committee Co-Chair includes but also goes beyond the role of other Trustees. So in addition to your duties as a Trustee, you will take a leadership role in ensuring that the Board fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the Orpheus Centre in relation to Learning and Care. You will also work closely with the Chief Executive, Principal and Head of Care to support them in achieving the aims of the Orpheus Centre in the areas of Learning and Care, and will act as the channel of communication between the committee and the Board.
You will lead the committee, ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities for good governance, and will work in partnership with the Principal and Head of Care, helping them to achieve the department’s aims.
Your responsibilities will include:
- providing effective scrutiny, challenge and questioning related to curriculum and learner progress;
- supporting the learning management team with quality activities, including annual trustee learning walks and quarterly deep dive activity;
- ensuring that you undertake a thorough induction programme;
- leading the Learning and Care Committee, including chairing committee meetings effectively;
- monitoring progress in implementing decisions taken at committee meetings and keeping in close touch with the work of the Learning and Care Departments in general – while always respecting the boundary between the respective roles of executives and non-executives;
- acting as a spokesperson for Orpheus when requested and as appropriate;
- providing a written and oral update of the last committee meeting at each Board meeting;
- assessing and monitoring risks relevant to the Learning and Care functions of the Orpheus Centre;
and
- monitoring and scrutinising performance data within the Learning and Care Departments.

The Trafford Centre Foundation is a new charitable grant-making trust undergoing formation and approval. In the coming few months, the Foundation is aiming to distribute funding received from the Trafford Centre’s owners, employees, brand partners and visitors to support communities within the North-West.
The Foundation is a key pillar of For Our Future, the Trafford Centre ESG programme, and is being established as part of a wider commitment of the owners of The Trafford Centre to positively support the Greater Manchester community and to work with partners, suppliers and key stakeholders to reduce our environmental impact.
The Charity looking for two additional Trustees with one acting as the Chair of the Trustee Board. The role of Chair is a key leadership role and provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to help curate the strategic aspirations of the Foundation and through leadership of the trustees deliver on the Foundation’s mission and goals. The Chair will work closely with trustees, to create a culture of excellence and accountability.
The organisation is purely grant awarding with no direct operations. The second role of an Independent Trustee is to work with the appointed board to deliver on the Foundation’s mission.

Job Synopsis
The MCC Rwanda/Burundi Representative(s) are responsible for providing overall leadership to a complex and multi-faceted MCC program. This includes responsibility for administrative operations, team building, strategic directions, and support of MCC’s partners and projects in the two countries. The Reps supervise and support a team of eleven program and administrative staff in two offices (Kigali and Bujumbura) including National Staff, expatriate International Staff, and one-year young adult participants in Global Service Learning (GSLers). In Rwanda and Burundi, the Reps oversee work with 10 partner organizations implementing 11 projects in each sector in which MCC works: food security, sustainable livelihoods, education, peacebuilding, and health. MCC staff support partners in the planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes; in organizational capacity building; and with technical expertise. The Reps organize and lead an annual team gathering and an annual partner gathering. They also maintain strong relationships with the Friends Church in both countries. In Rwanda and Burundi, MCC has developed long-term relationships with faith-based partners, most of whom operate with a peace lens and many with connections to the Friends Church. There are two large-complex food-security projects (one in each country) funded by the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB), which have significant expectations for reporting and for data collection and analysis. MCC’s support of peacebuilding has been longstanding in the two countries and currently includes the Great Lakes Peacebuilding Institute and youth peace clubs. MCC Rwanda/Burundi is also playing a significant role in the development and implementation of the MCC Africa strategic peacebuilding goals. The education projects include a vocational education project in each country as well as a K-12 school in a marginalized, rural community in Burundi. The Reps represent MCC to government authorities, other international NGOs, churches, and partners and in Rwanda and in Burundi. The Reps participate in annual Southern Central Africa and Nigeria (SCAN) Regional Meetings of MCC leadership and are supervised by the Area Directors for Southern Central Africa and Nigeria based in Kigali.

Key Responsibilities

Position Overview
Based in the coastal town of Fort Dauphin in the southeast of Madagascar, this post will provide support to the WASH, Schools and Solar projects implemented by the NGO. The successful candidate will work within a combined national and international team to assist in the development of projects, from initial planning stages to final evaluations.
Primary responsibilities include the writing of donor reports and proposals, providing additional support to the project team surrounding project management, and monitoring and evaluation. The role is predominantly office-based with some bush travel. The diversity of activities undertaken will provide a wide-ranging experience for an early career development professional who can effectively and efficiently deal with a comprehensive range of tasks related to the complex world of overseas development.
It is essential that the post holder is able to work in English to a high standard and it would be desirable to have at least basic French. Candidates who do not meet these criteria will not be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write project reports, to a high standard of English, that clearly demonstrate the successes and challenges of the WASH and Education infrastructure projects, learning from the project and providing clear budgetary information
- Compile funding proposals based on past evaluation, team discussion, and international best practice in an engaging and professional manner
- Conduct internet searches and searches through SEED’s funder database for potential donors to fund projects
- Take a leading role in gathering statistics and ensure that all existing statistics relating to the projects are accurate
- Work alongside the Communications and Media Officer writing regular social media updates, blog posts, and website copy
- Support the development of projects that fulfill local needs and sit within the aims of SEED, taking into account research findings, contextual constraints, government objectives, and SEED’s previous experience
- Conduct research into international best practice with regard to WASH and Education infrastructure programmes and take the lead in discussing these with the team
- Monitor and update project trackers according to project activities, ensuring the project is on track to meet project indicators and objectives

Person Specification
- Hold an undergraduate in or relating to WASH, international development, or have transferable skills or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ professional experience in securing funding, project management, donor compliance, and donor reporting
- Demonstrate excellent writing skills, previous experience in grant-writing is an asset
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and keen interest in Environment and Sustainable Livelihoods, Community Health, WASH and Education infrastructure, and their interface with international development; previous experience in WASH, education, or community-based work would be an asset

Why we need you?
The Halifax Charity Gala is organised by a committee of local volunteers in their spare time. The work required to plan and execute the gala is quite large & growing, with volunteer Committee Members working all year round to support the 40 or so local good causes we represent.
This all requires your friendly face & attitude on Gala Day to provide a warm welcome to our paying customers, accredited volunteers, commercial concessions, arena acts & others.
What will you be doing?
Helping to organise Calderdale’s longest-running annual not-for-profit family event! On a more practical level you’ll be the first Gala representative customers see, so will check their tickets/accreditation or take admission payment and provide them with a programme.
As a Gate Steward, on Gala Day you could be:
• Welcoming everyone with a friendly, positive attitude
• Managing entry queues, ensuring those with tickets/accreditation use the fast-track lanes, and that an exit lane is maintained
• Assisting customers with accessibility needs to navigate the queues
• Scanning eTickets in (and out, if they are likely to want to return)
• Checking hand stamps (of procession participants)

Not every volunteer Gate Steward will need to have every skill – there are several positions on each gate, and your volunteer Gate Supervisor will allocate you based on your existing skills & experience.
How much time do you need to commit?
We require Gate Stewards on Gala Day – the second Saturday of June each year.
Gate Stewards need to be available for one of two shifts:
• Early from 1000 to 1530
• Late from 1130 to 1700
Though any volunteers who want to start earlier / finish later would always be welcomed to do so!
This allows to us to have all Gate Stewards on their allocated gates between 1200-1500, which is our busiest time for customers entering & leaving.
What support will you be given?
Each gate team is led by a volunteer Gate Supervisor, who will be the first point of contact for any issues locally. They will have a radio to contact Radio Control.
Each gate also has an SIA licensed Door Supervisor present from our externally contracted crowd safety service provider, who will support with any prohibited items, invalid accreditation / tickets, refusal to pay, etc.
The volunteer Gate Supervisors are in turn supported by a volunteer Gate Manager, who will visit each gate several times during the day.
A briefing will be provided at your start time, by the volunteer Gate Manager and/or a volunteer Committee Member.

Trustees play an essential role in any charity and the Network of Wellbeing is no exception. Trustees are the supreme governing body in a charity. They determine its aims, its strategy and oversee all its operations. They are responsible in law for ensuring that it delivers its charitable objects.
Trustees also bring vital skills and experience to the charity’s management. We have reviewed the expertise and roles played by our existing Trustees – and found that they have strengths in business development, charity governance and environmental sustainability, to name but a few. They use their knowledge – and their wisdom – to guide the staff and inform key strategic decisions – and our existing Trustees gain a deep sense of joy and fulfilment from the role they play.
We are now looking for two new Trustees to complement and strengthen our existing Board. We are especially keen to find:
