About us
Who we are
Building Wellbeing Together for People and the Planet
Our vision is people and the planet thriving together.
Our mission is to connect people, support projects and inspire action for the wellbeing of people and the planet.
We do this through:
- our e-newsletter and social media, our events and by building a network of people who are passionate about wellbeing;
- running Eden Rise, a retreat venue in the beautiful Devon countryside; and
- community projects, such as our Share Shed – a mobile library of things which helps people improve their lives by lending them things they cannot or do not want to buy or store.
- We value collaboration, compassion and transformation.
Our culture and values
The Network of Wellbeing (NOW) is committed to a broad understanding of wellbeing, that is:
- Inclusive, because everyone deserves to have equal access to the things that support our wellbeing.
- Collective, because we can’t have wellbeing alone – our wellbeing depends upon our relationships and the communities in which we live and work.
- Systemic, because wellbeing needs to be embedded in our economies, governmental policies and throughout wider society.
- Sustainable, because human wellbeing relies upon the long-term health of the natural world.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
People differ in so many ways and we value that diversity. We recognize that prejudice and exclusion, intentional or otherwise, harms people’s wellbeing. We need to ensure that we stand up for diversity and combat exclusion, and are seen to do so, both in our own operations and through our dealings with others.
This can be challenging. We all grow up with unconscious biases in communities that may not reflect the full diversity of people. The people we meet and the attitudes we develop in our professional lives may also be representave of only a small section of society. However, we recognize our responsibility to reach out and overcome these biases. We are committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion – through all aspects of our work.
Our purpose is to be clear in our intentions – and to back these intentions with actions. We intend that:
● our message reaches and inspires a diverse audience;
● our services attract the full diversity of people in the areas that they serve;
● the diversity of our Trustees and staff reflects the full diversity of people in the UK;
● the people and groups we partner with share our intentions and values and mirror our commitment to take actions to embed diversity and inclusion organisaonally.
