The Project Manager will have strong organisation and project management skills, including budget management and KPI monitoring and reporting. They need to maintain regular communications with stakeholders and be confident in reporting progress, both face-to-face and in written report form. The ability to develop and maintain extensive positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential to the role.
We are seeking an individual with a solution-focused attitude to problem solving and the ability to balance and prioritise competing demands in a busy function. A successful track record of managing complex projects is essential. An understanding of education and school-centred programmes would be a distinct advantage.
Reporting to the South West and South and Mid-Wales Educational Partnerships Regional Manager, this role provides a real opportunity to help drive social mobility in the South West, and to ensure that young people across the region have access to vital skills and attributes for future life and work.

Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK.
Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes, shoes, mobile phones and other essential items, as well as providing social support and interaction, including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to legal, medical and educational services. Our Legal Access Department in the UK, provides access to critical legal representation for people seeking asylum and, more than this, supports people through the hostility and difficulty of claiming asylum.
In northern France we operate year-round from Calais, working alongside communities in Calais and Dunkirk to provide warm clothing, bedding and service provision to displaced people who live in appalling and dangerous conditions.
All of Care4Calais’ operations are supported by a small, dedicated team of staff who supervise large volunteer teams to provide much needed support to communities seeking asylum and on the move in the UK and France.
About the role:
Care4Calais are recruiting two Operations Coordinators to support their French operations.
The aim of the Operations Coordinator role is to support the Care4Calais’ French operations to continue to deliver vital humanitarian NFI (non food item) distributions and essential services. We distribute 6 days a week and provide daily services which include phone charging sessions, access to hairdressing, bike repair and sewing equipment, activities such as games and language lessons as well as information sharing and refreshments to communities living in northern France. Whilst this is a challenging position you will be given a thorough induction and work alongside experienced team members.
The successful candidate for this role will be proactive and hardworking with the ability to problem-solve and prioritise effectively. The role would suit someone who is a self-starter, strong team player and excels working within a varied role. Candidates will need strong organisational skills and must have the ability to make numerous important and compassionate decisions each day.
You will be expected to demonstrate excellent judgement, initiative, integrity and strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate to a diverse group of people. You will be part of Care4Calais’ core team in France and will report directly to the Head of Field Operations in France.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing core operations support for Care4Calais’ operations in northern France

Supporting a team of logistics and purchasing specialists to manage new and second hand clothing stock and feed into operational planning for field activities.

Managing and delivering Care4Calais’ NFI aid distributions and service provision with people on the move at the French/British border

Managing and supporting teams of up to 40 volunteers each day to provide daily services in Calais and Dunkirk. Including leading daily briefings and health and safety training.

Supporting the smooth running of a warehouse and donation storage facility.

Working alongside a small staff team to develop processes, procedures and documentation to support the effective running of Care4Calais’ humanitarian operations.

Attending external meetings, building and maintaining relationships with partners and key stakeholders which allow Care4Calais’ operations to continue to run smoothly and effectively.
Essential Skills and Experience:

1 - 2 years experience working in an humanitarian context, for a human rights organisation or with people from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds;

Professional or voluntary experience of working on projects concerning risk management, health and safety, safeguarding and compliance.

Self-motivated and used to managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines;

Able to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including those from displaced communities;

How you will make a difference
Your role will enable inclusive, empowering and efficient people operations workflows at GFI Europe. Reporting to the Head of Operations, your work will fall under the following categories:
- Manage the People Operations function, including line managing two team members.
- Develop an inclusive, empowering and engaging People Operations strategy that ensures best practices around management principles, professional development, diversity, equity and inclusion, and other aspects of a healthy culture are adopted.
- Track team morale and culture by coordinating team engagement surveys and by listening to team members’ needs from when they join the organisation and all along their employee journey with us, taking steps where necessary to improve the employee experience.
- Be the main contact person for the GFI Europe team to discuss HR-related needs or concerns.
- Oversee solid HR management by:
- Ensuring GFI Europe’s compensation and benefits remain competitive.
- Creating and/or periodically reviewing and improving People Operations policies and addressing specific HR needs and requirements of our growing team.

Who we’re looking for
You must have:

Benefits and the fine print
- Terms of employment: Full-time (38 hours/week), flexible working hours.
- Location: We can consider applicants based in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain or the UK. This is a remote role, and you will be able to work from home, or we are happy to consider supporting costs for co-working to enable you to work from an office if you wish. Role Summary
The Operations Executive will join a small but rapidly growing team working at GH50/50. Within this role, and in close collaboration with the Head of Operations you will ensure high quality administrative support across GH50/50, setting the entire team up for success. This is a crucial role that will ensure that things run effectively and efficiently in support of our mission.
This is a brand new role for GH50/50, therefore we are looking for a bright, self-starter who can work with the Head of Operations to shape the role; providing recommendations to the organisation on administrative processes and own their projects from conception to delivery. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the charity's administrative and strategic initiatives as we enter a new phase of growth. We foresee that the successful candidate will enjoy variety, will be highly organised and will have a can-do attitude.
Job Responsibilities:
o Support the Head of Operations in the smooth and efficient running of the GH50/50 office.
o Collaborate with the Head of Operations to source and roll out a new organisation-wide management system for GH50/50, ensuring thoughtful integration into our current working practices.
o Organise the Co-CEOs calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments.
o Support the Head of Operations to prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and documents as required.
o Alongside the Head of Operations, maintain effective office management and administrative procedures.
o Manage and triage the organisational email account
o Monitor and update the organisation-wide contact database
o Ensure compliance with data protection and ethics legislation, including being up to date with GDPR requirements (training can be provided).
o Coordinate support to the team on basic financial management tasks, including expense claims and other reporting.
o Arrange and coordinate internal and external meetings, including managing calendars, conference call logistics, venue booking and wider meeting preparation tasks, preparing agendas, and minute-taking/dissemination of actions.
o Attendance at internal meetings across all work streams to increase information sharing and keep a sense of organisations objectives
o Coordinate the distribution of board and trustee and advisory group(s) meeting materials and invites.
o Support the Head of Operations to improve the ease of filing documents through our current system - SharePoint.
o Own the planning and organising of certain events, including launches, roundtables and conferences. This will include event management and travel booking, when required.
o Flexibility to take on additional administrative tasks as and when needed in support of the charity.
Skills and Qualifications:
● A keen self starter, who is passionate about the GH50/50 mission and where they can have impact.
● Experience in working with or for academic institutes for research organisations would be beneficial, as would experience working with a remote team with globally based stakeholders
● Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Part 1: Role Purpose:
This role aims to offer financial and operations management support to Great Lakes and Central Africa Region programs, focusing majorly on Street Child Programmes in DRC. The role reports to both Great Lakes and Central Africa Regional Representative and Head of Finance in Africa.
The role holds a senior position within the Street Central Africa Region team and will oversee Street Child – financial and operational setup to support operationalizing all program/project implementation in full compliance with donors’ and SC operational standards. The role will also provide financial support to programs across Great Lakes and Central Africa and partner organizations to support the development and implementation of robust financial management and reporting systems and assess and strengthen the control environment, financial management, grant management, and reporting. It will be building the finance and grants management capacity of Street Child staff and partners. A vital part of this is facilitating communication between Programmes and Finance staff.
Part 2: Key Responsibilities:
Finance Management:
- Supervise the country's standard financial systems establishment and maintenance in line with STREET-CHILD Financial Policy and Procedures, donor and local legislation requirements to provide appropriate levels of security and controls over the organization's resources and operations across the country to ensure success, consistency, and compliance.
- Develop and update quarterly the country's Master Budget to ensure that all funding gaps are covered.
- Provide strong leadership to the Finance and Admin team in all offices, whether with direct line management or technical, ensuring competent and motivated staff are hired and retained.
- Provide financial advice to the budget holders and local partners, ensure adequate support is provided to the program, and ensure the alignment of resource allocations with organizational priorities at the budgeting and implementation stages.

Grant Management and Budget proposal:

Role

- Accountancy qualifications, preferably CIMA, ACA and ACCA, and a clear understanding of Charity Fund accounting (SORP 2008 and the Charities Act 2003)
- Extensive experience in financial management and interdepartmental budgeting in a senior leadership position in an international organisation (preferable and international charity/non-for-profit).
- In-depth understanding of the complexity of overseeing and managing finances in an international context, particularly in contexts of conflict and/or war, including complexities of banking, tax, cash-flow management, exchange rate fluctuations and impact on budgets and forecasts, financial reporting, legal compliance, and transferring of funds to civil society and community-based organisation within different contexts, including conflict-affected areas.
- Senior leadership experience within the charity/not-for-profit sector and an understanding of costing funding bids and ensuring financial reporting systems meet funder requirements
- Experience of engaging and working with diverse funding streams including institutional donors, commercial contracts and Trust and Foundations and multiple currencies and geographic jurisdictions,
- Experience of working with a business partnering approach to achieve with others joint goals.
- An understanding and experience of project management delivery across an organisation, including an ability and willingness to undertake 'hands-on' tasks, such as preparing budgets, cash flows and other financial planning, management and control processes if required
- Operational experience in overseeing and supporting IT systems, especially in financial systems development – experience with the SUN system is especially desirable
- Experience working with a Board of Trustees and other governance levels of an organisation
- A track record in proven line and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others to deliver shared results
- Experience in communicating effectively across cultures and with diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing

About the role
Volunteers are highly valued at Parkinson’s UK because of the vital contribution they make to our aims for supporting people affected by Parkinson’s. You’ll provide high quality operational support in the team that exists to provide an excellent volunteering experience for the incredible people who freely give their time to support the Parkinson’s community.
What you’ll do:
- Provide high quality administrative support for the team under the direction of the Operations Manager;
- Respond to volunteer queries and provide support as and when needed;
- Assist in the production of materials and and resources and ensure they are disseminated appropriately;
- Assist colleagues with the recruitment and on-boarding of volunteers including learning opportunities;
- Carry out the daily administration associated with the volunteer management system (Assemble) and support volunteers in their use of the system;
- Maintain volunteer records as required;
- Process, upload and send content, news, adverts, email, and updates on Assemble and to other platforms as required;
- Liaise with the content team for the design of promotional materials;
- Support with volunteering learning and development, including liaising with suppliers, creating materials and completing training administration.
- Gather and collate feedback on key areas of the team’s work
