UKMT is a charity that exists to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics. We do this by working with hundreds of volunteers across the UK to organise Competitions and Challenges promoting problem solving and teamwork and other mathematical enrichment activities.
As Executive Assistant, you will operate at the heart of the organisation, providing crucial professional support to the Director and Officers of the Trust on various aspects of operational management. Main duties:
- Board Administration: You will support the Secretary in planning and overseeing the running of Trustee elections; oversee the induction programme for new Trustees; maintain the website to ensure that it remains up to date with membership records and terms of office; assist with the servicing of Board Committees and act as Minute Secretary if required, producing accurate and timely minutes.
- Director: You will provide administrative support to the Director, calendar management including coordinating meetings, draft agendas, prepare minutes and arrange logistics e.g. venue selection, room bookings and refreshments. You will draft and revise correspondence, reports, presentations and letters, and support the Director in maintaining and enhancing relationships with volunteers, funders, and other external partners.

- You will develop and maintain a central monitoring log of statutory returns made by the organisation to various regulatory bodies, and liaise with the Risk & Compliance Committee in preparing the annual report. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the fulfilment of annual reporting commitments to external bodies such as Charity Commission and Companies House. You will create and maintain a register and review cycle for organisational policies.

Person specification:
The successful candidate will be a highly organised administrator, with a wide range of skills, who will be able to provide guidance to the Director and Officers across UKMT’s governance and executive activities. The role does not have line management responsibilities.
Essential

About the Role
This role is an exciting opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the Fundraising & Engagement Team.
Acting as the first point of contact for all Fundraising & Comms enquiries and in line with Mind BLMK’s Fundraising and Communications Strategy, this is a busy role and will require excellent stewardship and donor care skills as well as meticulous organisation and innovative thinking. Purpose of Role
As a Senior PR Officer, you will play an important role in planning and delivering creative national and regional PR strategies to promote fundraising and partnership activities for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2025 campaign, that inspire people to get involved and demonstrate the life changing work donations make possible.
You will work across a broad and exciting range of projects that creatively combine the worlds of entertainment and charity whilst driving income, awareness, and brand consideration at a time when the charity gets set to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025.
You will need to have a thorough understanding of the UK media landscape, feel confident in approaching journalists with new ideas and have proven success in generating quality print, online and broadcast coverage at both a regional and national level.
Running Comic Relief’s busy Press Office alongside PR campaigns is a responsibility shared by all team members. You will be required to take an active role in managing media enquiries in a timely and accurate manner, media monitoring and evaluation, and join the on-call rota for out-of-hours and weekend support.

MAIN PURPOSES OF THE JOB
- Prepare and present the management accounts and related analysis, posting month end journals, ensuring bank and control account reconciliations are updated monthly. Prepare any other reports for the CEO and Trustees as required.
- Ensure financial filing systems and records are continually updated and appropriate evidence of financial controls are always available for audit.
- To produce financial reports for preparation of final audited accounts in line with current SORP guidance and accountancy standards. Lead contact with the auditors.
- Preparing and reviewing monthly cash flow and working capital.
- To ensure the efficient operation of all day-to-day financial transactions required using Salesforce CRM and Sage Line 50 software.
- Oversee payroll and pension processing. Coordinate the smooth operation of the monthly payroll with external bureau and ensure that all relevant requirements relating to PAYE, etc. are complied with.
- Promote accounting concepts such as accurate classification of revenue, expenditure, accruals accounting and materiality as part of an overall system of robust financial governance and budgetary control.
- Take responsibility for the charity’s accounting procedures, ensuring financial handbooks are kept up to date and all policies and procedures are adhered to.
