The role

As Head of Programme Development, you’ll take a senior role in the strategic planning and operational delivery of Art Fund’s grant-making programme, taking a lead on certain areas of the business plan to ensure they deliver against and inform the ongoing development of Art Fund’s strategic vision. You will work with the Director of Programme & Policy and Head of Programme Delivery to manage the team to ensure effective management of all grant-making and operational activities, develop and deliver new initiatives, funding opportunities, partnerships, research, and evaluation, ensuring maximum impact and maintaining and furthering Art Fund’s excellent relationships across the museums, heritage, funding and visual arts sectors.

A member of the Programmes team, you will work with colleagues across Art Fund and the wider sector to ensure our grant-making is effective and valuable and supports our strategic plan. This is a unique opportunity to join Art Fund at a key moment in our 5-year strategy. You’ll help us identify where Art Fund can make a real difference in our priority areas and build our reputation in these areas: championing diverse and inclusive museum collections, workforce and audiences; reaching a new generation of museum goers through digital and community experiences, as well as in the museum itself, and developing a sustainable sector. Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone is a 21st century youth hub located at the heart of Blackburn and a dedicated site in Darwen, open to young people aged 5 to 25 years old, aiming to change the prospects offered to young people in the area. Context of Role:

The Youth Club Coordinator role is a crucial role within our mission of making sure B&DYZ is “the Number One Service for young people”. You will be responsible for the coordination, leadership, planning and delivery of Darwen Youth Zone Youth Club provision for young people aged 13 to 19 years (21 with a disability). Working positively, collaboratively and at pace with an enthusiastic and energetic youth work team, you will ensure our programme and offer for young people is of high quality, meets the needs of every young person in Blackburn with Darwen and ensures our offer reflects and exceeds on the wishes, needs and views of young people.

You will hold line management responsibility seeking to ensure that there is strong evidence of effective performance in line with our vision, mission, values and strategic objectives. The role will require you to have previous experience within a youth work setting and strong evidence of excellent safeguarding knowledge and practice.

Responsibilities:

Service:

• To ensure that the offer for young people is the best possible service, ensuring there is a diverse range of activities that create opportunities and encourage young people to participate and have a go at new things.
• To work towards agreed targets including attendance, participation, progression, impact and evaluation and key performance indicators.
• Ensure the programmes meet the needs of existing and new members, engages a diverse range of young people from across BwD and support their active participation and promote their retention
• Maintain a good understanding of the young people we work with, their issues and challenges and the complexities of delivering in a large open access setting through direct work with young people during sessions and through good communication with the team.
• To ensure that the youth work delivery is carried out in a planned, systematic coordinated way and evaluated.
• To deal with any problems during the sessions and to provide appropriate intervention while advocating for all young people and ensure young people receive appropriate support
• Ensure participation is meaningful for young people and that their ideas contribute fully in the planning, delivery and evaluation of sessions, projects and activities.
• To be target driven and quality assure and provide reports and information as required in order to ensure a consistently high-quality youth work provision and demonstrate the impact of our work with young people.
• To work effectively with the club’s project leads, in order to identify young people and ensure the project performance is collectively achieved against the funding requirements.

Working hours

This role is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week which requires a flexible working pattern and you will be expected to work evenings and weekends. You will also be expected to travel to different venues/locations.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

 We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with a passion for our mission to equip our organisation with the financial resources needed to meet our objectives as we work to scale our fundraising by growing our charitable income across all funding streams, maximising supporter engagement and fulfilling fundraising operational duties

This is a new role, joining a small but growing Fundraising and Events Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will oversee most fundraising income generation activity.

The Fundraising Officer will build positive relationships to secure significant income and develop new relationships with groups, business and individuals, bringing in regular and targeted income through regular donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating fundraising campaigns and ‘asks’). MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising Overview

1. Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Maximise the contributions and connections with local business and individuals.
3. Coordinate all appeals including The Big Walk across all income and media streams.
4. Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities such as Payroll Giving, Legacies (with help from The Legacy Officer), in Memory Giving and Online Giving.

Supporter Engagement and Stewardship

1. Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to The Trust’s supporters.
2.  To be responsible for thanking all supporters and managing a supporter engagement journey – ensuring that effective processes are in place and driving levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
3.  Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all fundraising volunteers and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes, in conjunction with other teams.
4.  Develop and implement Fundraising groups across the UK

Database Management

1. To ensure efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.
2.  Maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed.
3.  Train other staff members to support general fundraising.
4.  Ensure all records, fundraising data and fundraising administration is kept up to date and all information is GDPR-compliant.

 Individual Giving

1. Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
2. Lead the growth of CT100 monthly giving.
3. Work with the Press and PR Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.

Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns

1. Work alongside teams and PR and Communications Manager to promote The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the PR and Communications Manager.
3. Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside PR and Communications Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses and individuals

Staff and Volunteers

1. Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropriate.
2.  Work closely with Head of Operations and PR and Communications Manager  to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.

Wider organisational responsibilities

1. Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.
2. Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Operations.

We have been awarded a significant grant from the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund for #Defra Heart of England: growing momentum, capacity, skills and trees. In partnership with Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, and Wychavon District Councils, the Heart of England Forest is leading this three year project to engage with landowners and local communities to increase tree cover across the landscape. Working together to identify suitable areas for trees to be planted, facilitate tree planting, and support woodland maintenance, new woodlands will be created that benefit the environment, boost biodiversity, and provide havens for communities to enjoy.

We are looking for two candidates with widespread experience of project delivery and good team working skills. The successful candidates will work closely with project partners to engage with local communities and larger scale landowners to identify suitable areas for tree planting.  Working with them to understand their needs, you will provide information on different types of planting and support them through the regulatory and funding process.

You will be passionate about landscape-scale conservation and the benefits this brings to both people and wildlife and have a demonstrable track record in successful team working.

The post will be based in the Heart of England Forest head office in Dorsington, but due to the nature of the project  hybrid working will form part of the role.  Each project delivery post has been assigned a particular geographic area – Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon or Wychavon district – and will be expected to travel extensively across their project area. Shooting Star Children’s Hospices

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and Southwest London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

At the heart of the hospice are our dedicated clinical staffs. Their exceptional commitment and professionalism is commented on by so many of the supported children and their families. 

It costs £10.5 million a year to maintain our current level of care. Only 30% of that income comes from government funding via the NHS or local authorities, so we rely on our supporters’ generosity to keep the service running. We employ 175 staff, including 98 nursing and medical staff, providing hospice and community-based services to around 700 families.

Predominantly we work with families living in the Northwest and Southwest of London and Surrey, although will accept children outside these geographical areas if they do not have access to specialist palliative care support locally.  We have a reputation for delivering high quality care.  We have a CQC rating of ‘Outstanding’

Introduction

Retail and Volunteers Team: Our Retail and Volunteers Team manages our charity shops and volunteer programs, which play a crucial role in supporting our mission. They recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to staff our shops and assist with various tasks, such as sorting donations and serving customers. Additionally, they oversee the operations of our retail outlets, ensuring that they are efficiently run to generate income for our hospices.

Part 1: Job Profile

a) Main purpose of  job

In the absence of the manager or assistant managers to lead a team of volunteers to maximise sales, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that the shop premises and assets are maintained to a high standard, according to legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures. 

Decision Making Authority

The post holder will be required to make decisions on the quality, and suitability of donations before they are placed on sale. Depending on the length of the cover period they may be required to dress the windows. (They will follow price guidelines and existing display layout throughout the shop.)

The post holder will work with eCommerce Manager to decide if items would be suitable for selling at a higher price on eBay or through a promotional event and set these aside for the manager of the shop to deal with on their return.

The post holder will support with rostering of the team of volunteers where necessary and delegation of duties and jobs.

• Price and ticket all items according to pricing strategy for the shop and ensure that all pricing and ticketing complies with legislation

Bath Welcomes Refugees (BWR) is a small charity established in 2016 by volunteers with the initial intention of supporting Syrian Refugees. Since then, there have been growing crises across in the world, Afghanistanand Ukraine being the most significant recently. 

We provide a wide range of support to those seeking refuge and to make a new life in Bath and the surrounding area. Our servicesinclude providinglanguage tuition , arranging for their education, help setting up homes andproviding other support services to enable them to live independently and settle into the local community.

Whilst we work with other local charities and agencies to provide the support needed by an ever-growing number of refugees and asylum seekers BWR depends on its 250 volunteers and their enthusiasm, invaluable expertise, experience and dedication to provide a range of support to those seeking refuge and to make a new life in Bath. 

BWR is looking to recruit a part time Volunteer Coordinator on an initial one-year contract. Reporting to the Operations Officer you will be responsible for recruiting, overseeing induction, training as well as the day-to-day coordination and supervision of our volunteers. 

To be successful in this position, you will need to be

Outline of the Role

 You will be the key volunteer contact, recruiting, co-ordinating training, carrying out background and DBS checks and supporting volunteers in their various roles across the organisation to enable BWR to meet its aims.

• You will work with and provide support to the Operations Officer, Team Leaders, the Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support Coordinator and to ensure we provide appropriate resources to support our families and individuals to meet their individual specific needs. 
• Assess the suitability of volunteersin their allotted volunteer role, in conjunction with the Team leader, prior to the end of their probationary period and identify the need for additional training or other support required for the volunteer to be successful in their role.
• Provide information about the work of BWR to potential volunteers and promote volunteering in the wider community to identify potential volunteers.
• Maintaining our Case Management System.
• Liaising with the Communications Team in relation to the website and other digital communications in respect of volunteer activity.
• This is an initial one-year contract, with hybrid working (office and home). The role will require flexibility to attend meetings, liaising with refugee families and asylum seekers either during the day, evening or at weekends within the Bath and surrounding area. 

The role is based on 29 hours per week with a pro rata salary of £25-27k full time equivalent (commensurate with experience).

The role will require an enhanced DBS check.

Job Title:  Fundraising Officer

Background:

Central London Samaritans (CLS) is the largest of Samaritans’ 201 branches.

Based in the heart of Soho (*), 450 volunteers deliver the Samaritans service round the clock, every day of the year providing support for anyone struggling to cope. Our core objective is to deliver services that support the Samaritans vision that fewer people will die by suicide. Assisted by a small staff team, volunteers manage over 100,000 contacts a year of which, pre-pandemic, 4,500 were face to face visits.

As well as delivering services in our Marshall Street centre, we also work in the community across seven London boroughs. From providing emotional support for London’s homeless, to running peer-to-peer listener programmes at Brixton prison, and delivering talks and workshops to schools and workplaces, we pride ourselves on the support we give to our community. Our volunteers also offer emotional support following any form of crisis affecting Londoners, such as the London Bridge attacks and the Grenfell Tower fire.

Role description:

Responsible for ensuring the delivery of the community events fundraising plans and activities. You will be managing a select number of events, along with engaging with the community and businesses to develop and implement plans for maximising income and support from individuals, groups and businesses.

Main responsibilities:

• Manage branch Community and Events, taking a lead for specific awareness events and fundraising events or activities.
• Organise events, including liaison with venues, suppliers, monitoring expenditure, volunteers and participants and ensure all preparation is complete.
• Ensure an excellent level of supporter care and stewardship with supporters is maintained and developed.
• Provide regular reports and information about activities, supporters and volunteers.

• Previous experience working in fundraising in either a community, challenge or mass participant event capacity.

· Manage our external communications, including our website, Mailchimp newsletters and Twitter account.

The amount of out of hours work will be agreed on an ongoing basis.

Time off in lieu will be allowed in agreement with the Head of Branch Operations and in line with the staff handbook and the European Working Time Directive.

(*) - At present, the branch office is located in Soho but Central London Samaritans, as an organization, will be moving location to a new site in Marylebone in early 2025.
