JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Communications Officer works with the Communications team, raising vital support for displaced people around the world through transformational partnerships, creative campaigns and fundraising appeals.
Reporting to the Senior PR Manager, the Senior Communications Officer works across all the charity’s communications activity (PR and digital communications), with a particular focus on promoting and supporting the charity’s partnerships.
This involves identifying opportunities to amplify our partnerships, events, appeals and campaigns through earned media, digital communications and other activities, in order to support UK for UNHCR’s fundraising and public advocacy objectives. Raising awareness of global refugee crises and UNHCR’s humanitarian operations forms a central part of this storytelling, as well as understanding of thematic areas of UNHCR’s work such as education or climate change, and PR moments throughout the year.
Working with the wider Communications team, the Senior Communications Officer will also work with UNHCR experts and our Storyteller Programme, enabling the charity to identify, engage with and support staff and storytellers (including refugees) to share their stories through charity communications across all channels, events and with media.
This role requires close collaboration with the Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy fundraising teams and other members of the Communications team, and providing support to more junior members of the Communications team as needed.

Role Responsibilities

Act as the focal point for partnership communications activity (corporate partners, trusts, foundations and philanthropy), including being a primary communications contact for key partnerships and managing the flow of PPH communications material to facilitate a smooth, swift approval process, internally and with external stakeholders.

Support our Refugee Storyteller programme, including an understanding of related processes such as consent and content gathering and storage, identifying areas for growth and development, and coordination across the charity

Work with the Senior PR Manager on media relations, including identifying opportunities to deliver UK for UNHCR messages in media, drafting media materials, identifying and preparing storytellers for interviews, preparing media briefings and spokespeople for interviews or events

Develop and deliver communications plans for existing partnerships, and as needed for new business and prospect outreach.

Draft materials for the website, social media and other communications, including use of images and video content.

Track and report on Partnerships communications efforts and activities, working with the Communications Coordinator and Data team.

Support the Communications Team with publications.

Provide other communications support as required, such social media posting and community management, commissioning content and maintaining the website.

ROLE OVERVIEW
As our Management Accountant you will work with the Associate Director, Operations to manage our income and expenditure effectively. This will be achieved through timely provision of financial information including management accounts and funders reports as well the preparation of budgets, forecasts, funding proposals, and the ongoing review of our financial performance.

KEY DUTIES
Financial Modelling and Forecasting

Build and manage a financial model capable of organising and forecasting the financial structures that result from income from multiple sources of funds.

Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including scenario planning and risk assessment.
Internal Reporting

Work with our virtual finance office (external bookkeeping team) to ensure monthly management accounts are produced with the appropriate narrative.

Prepare quarterly financial accounts, variance analysis, and management information.

Monitor and report on restricted and unrestricted income, ensuring accurate allocation and reporting.
Budgeting

Undertake the preparation of CZA’s annual budget and quarterly reforecasting.

Grant-Based Financial Activity

Develop funder budgets and financial plans to be included in grant submissions.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Educated to first degree level or equivalent experience

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or working towards such a qualification and close to qualification

Significant relevant experience, ideally gained in the charity sector (working with grant income, familiar with Charities SORP (FRS 102) etc.)

Key Responsibilities
As part of the PBA Finance Team and leading the team, the Financial Advisor plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of PBA, offering strategic advice, ensuring compliance, and overseeing day-to-day financial operations. The Financial Advisor works closely with PBA’s Accounts administrator.
Key responsibilities are:
- Work with the core team on the annual Business Planning process and help devise and produce the annual Budget.
- Assist in the compilation and analysis of the Approval and circulation of monthly /quarterly financial and management accounts, including a brief narrative report.
- Offer high level advice and guidance in support of and to help achieve the targets set out in the Business Plan.
- Act as one Authorised Signatory on all bank accounts and manage relationships with external financial institutions and banking partners.
- Oversee and liaise with auditors for the annual audit and other matters as required from time to time.
- Ensure VAT compliance and reporting.
- Be familiar with the cover afforded by all insurance policies and provide information on matters that may affect cover. Ensure appropriate insurance policies are in place and up to date.

The Training Administrator plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our training services. You’ll work closely with the Training Manager and the wider team undertaking a variety of administrative activities associated with training, with an emphasis on administration for private courses and our learning management system. The role will include supporting live courses, providing administrative support for our training bookings, managing our mailbox, and developing our E Learning content and systems.

As a senior member of the Public and Political Engagement team, the Advocacy and Engagement Manager will work closely with our Research and Operations teams, and partners across Africa, Asia and South America. They will engage with decision makers in government, business, financial institutions, multi-lateral and network organisations, local and international NGOs, and the media, to advance evidence-based solutions to the conjoined global crises of water, climate, nature and inequality.
In particular, they will play a key role in our Fair Water Footprints Campaign and the wider delivery of the Glasgow Declaration for Fair Water Footprints. With new funding from the UK Government’s Just Transitions for Water Security Programme, these game changing initiatives seek to end the abuse of water in our supply chains, and to establish responsible water stewardship as the global business norm by 2030 so that trade and business accelerate, rather than undermine, shared water security. This will be achieved through mobilising the power of scientific evidence and citizen voices to trigger change in government policies, corporate practices, financial disclosure, and political and public expectations. The choreography and delivery of this change will be a core focus of the successful candidate’s work.
This role will involve travel within the UK and internationally, including in Africa and South America, and would suit an exceptional communicator who is fluent in the technical and policy aspects of water and climate justice, and who has several years of demonstrable experience in using advocacy, communications, and stakeholder engagement to drive change. Parallel Academy is an ambitious charitable initiative founded by Simon Singh, best known as the author of Fermat’s Last Theorem. We currently support over 3,000 students through our maths enrichment activities, around 700 of whom receive dedicated weekly, small-group online tutorials in The Parallel Academy. Overview
Our team is broadly divided into two arms, administrative and educational, and we are seeking a Director of Education to steer the latter. This is a senior role responsible for ensuring that our offerings are aligned to our expectations and pedagogical aims, and for helping to scale the project to reach thousands more students each year. Department/Service:
The finance department is responsible for the overall financial management and administration of the 4million turnover at GSU. The department plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, including HMRC, Charities Commission, Companies House, and pensions. This includes supporting our annual external financial audit.
The finance team act as Business Partners to the rest of the organisation ensuring they understand financial processes to aid effective working. The team also work alongside our external payroll provider and our external digital system provider to ensure smooth and effective working.
Job Purpose:
Provide a professional, accurate, and timely accounting service in respect to all management and statutory reporting. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external support services to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance department, ensuring excellence in service delivery.
Reports to:
- Currently reporting to the CEO whilst the senior management role in the Finance Department is under review. The senior management post is currently vacant.
Responsible for:
- Supporting, managing, supervising, and developing one Finance Coordinator and one Finance Assistant.

1. Management and Statutory Reporting:
