About us
Who we are
The Young Ealing Foundation is an independent registered charity established in 2017. Developed in response to the ongoing challenges facing the Children and Young People’s sector, the Young Ealing Foundation brings together the public, private and voluntary sectors in Ealing to effect positive change for young people.
We connect and equip grassroots youth charities, supporters and decision makers, to open up a brighter future for Ealing’s children and young people.
OUR VISION
To work with and in the community to empower small, local charities to thrive and flourish in order to enable sustainable, high quality service provision for children and young people and promote great youth work in all its forms.
Our culture and values
OBJECTIVE
We are independent and impartial of any local or national priorities and are led purely by the needs of our members
TRUSTED
Our staff are experienced, approachable and focused, and can provide the expertise and support most needed by our members
BRAVE
We are thought leaders in the sector, are not afraid to lead from the front and respond quickly and decisively in times of crisis
COLLABORATIVE
We model and promote genuine partnership working, and contribute to a strong, non-competitive and cohesive sector
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Our member organisations are grassroots non-profits supporting young people in our communities. Many of these organisations are led by global majority groups. We work with our members to elevate their work and voices.
We recognise the impact of poverty and racism on our communities. We aim to work actively alongside communities rather than ‘doing to them’ and take an intersectional approach. We also acknowledge the additional impact of discrimination experienced by women, disabled people and LGBT++ people of the global majority.
We have a commitment to developing a culturally competent approach. This involves working within our our teams, trustees, member and partner organisations to ensure that:
1. Our diverse communities are represented in our organisations and structures
2. We design programmes that deliver and represent the needs of our diverse communities
3. We support, develop, advocate and work in partnership with global majority people and organisations
