The Database and Finance Manager will manage and provide strategic direction for the Foundation Office’s operations, including the Raiser’s Edge database, gift processing, financial reporting and GDPR.

You’ll be an integral part of a lovely team and will need to have excellent computer and database management skills, including in depth knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, Word and Excel. You will have the ability to create Power BI reports and dashboards to allow for dynamic and accurate engagement and fundraising insights and will need to be proficient at generating end of month and year-end financial and donor reports for Director of Development, Executive Director and Governors.

Principal Duties:

· To develop new social and physical activities for older people

· To engage with older people to understand their aspirations for activities and develop community offer in response

· To prepare material and actively promote the activities of the programme to citizens, partners, and other stakeholders

· To maintain accurate and confidential records of all activities and outcomes

· To develop contacts, links, and relationships with other programmes such as NNS

· To represent the team at external meetings where appropriate

· To work with the Line Manager to achieve targets to meet funding contract requirements

Hillside Clubhouse will be launching two brand new community cafés from Highgate East inpatients facility and from Lowther Road outpatients building.  We want to make the cafés a warm, safe and supportive destinations for the whole community, not just patients and visitors.  This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to grow and develop two community cafés and tackle stigmas associated with mental ill health.

Job Description

Café Operations – Help to maximise food and beverage sales on site; clearing tables and maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the café; help to restock the café; operate the tills and take card payments.

 About The Hygiene Bank 

Hygiene poverty is not being able to afford many of the everyday hygiene and personal grooming products most of us take for granted. The reality of low income is that it restricts people’s options, leaving us caught between being able to heat our homes, pay the rent, eat, or be clean.  It is washing hair, bodies, faces and clothes in the same cheap washing up liquid used for the dishes. It is not being able to replace a toothbrush when needed or sharing a toothbrush because one each just isn't an option. It is having to choose between shaving foam and razors or the transport fare to a job interview.

Hygiene Poverty is the hidden crisis facing the UK. In May 2024, The Hygiene Bank published their second groundbreaking research into the incidence and impact of hygiene poverty. It found that over 4.2 million adults across the country are currently experiencing hygiene poverty and that it is both alarmingly widespread, increasing and disproportionately impacts the most vulnerable. It stops people from participating in society, feeds the mental health crisis and blocks routes out of poverty. It is simply unjust.

About the Role

 As one of our team of four Partnership Managers, you will have the exciting opportunity to make a huge difference in improving the lives of people living in hygiene poverty. Reporting into the Head Operations, the Partnership Managers plays a pivotal role in the charity and are responsible for overseeing and co-piloting our volunteer lead community projects.

The role is varied and requires strong time management, organisational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, meticulous record keeping and strong volunteer management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Volunteer Experience Manager to actively recruit volunteers in key areas, in line with our strategic objectives.
• Onboard new projects by supporting the volunteer project coordinator with all aspects of setting up a community project.
• Foster positive relationships with the project teams to ensure engagement and inclusion and to be the first point of contact for them.
• Co-design and implement project plans for the newly formed projects identifying areas of support needed to sustainably grow the project.
• Work with the projects to identify suitable Community Partners in line with our strategy and eligibility criteria.
• Support the project with any funding applications and ensure impact data is captured.
• Ensure all projects are compliant and operating within out charitable objects, therefore reducing the overall risk the charity.
• Work with the Operations team to ensure all supporting volunteer guidance documentation is accurate, relevant and up to date and to ensure the volunteer newsletter, website and members area contains all required and up to date volunteer supporting information.
• Monitor and analyse KPIs and provide regular reporting to both the team and board.

Job Description

The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Essex and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information. 

The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support.  You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.

The main responsibilities of the post are:

• To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.

• To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone. 

• To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.

• To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.

• To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.

• To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.

• To assist survivors and relatives/supporters of survivors in understanding the range of resources and services available to them.

• To support service users to engage effectively with appropriate services to meet their individual needs and aspirations.

• To work as a link between clients, CARA staff and external agencies, ensuring appropriate information is passed on.

• To cover the enquiry line and the office phone and deal with enquiries as required. 

• To pro-actively promote CARA’s services to external agencies, ensuring they are aware of our referral procedures.

CARA is part of Synergy Essex – the Essex Rape and Sexual Abuse Partnership.   We work closely with SERICC Rape and Sexual Abuse Specialist Service and Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis (SOS Rape Crisis) to deliver the contract for the Office for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex for services for victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse across Essex.

As the Hub Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, development, and delivery of services and activities at the centre. You will work closely with staff, Trustees and other volunteers, and community members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Your role will involve managing day-to-day operations, developing new initiatives, and ensuring that our services meet the needs of the community.

Salary: From £26,000 - £29,000 per annum depending experience

Bushmead Community Hub is a charity run Community Centre in the heart of Bushmead, Luton in the Barnfield Ward.  The charity was established in 2016 following the threat of closure under the local council.

Our community centre serves as a hub for various health, social, educational, cultural, and recreational activities that cater to individuals of all ages. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Community Centre Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our centre.

Job Purpose:

As the Hub Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, development, and delivery of services and activities at the centre. You will work closely with staff, Trustees and other volunteers, and community members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Your role will involve managing day-to-day operations, developing new initiatives, and ensuring that our services meet the needs of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the Bushmead Community Hub, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.
• Manage and support a team of staff and volunteers, providing leadership, motivation, and development opportunities.
• Manage the Hub’s budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and identifying opportunities for fundraising and income generation in liaison with the Trustees.
• Develop and implement a diverse range of activities and services that meet the needs of the local community.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of services, making adjustments as necessary to meet community needs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies.
• Act as a key point of contact for the community, addressing any concerns or issues that arise.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in a management role, preferably within the charity or community sector.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of people.
• Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for community work and a commitment to making a positive impact.

Sussex Community Foundation is seeking a Grants Officer to work closely with the Head of Grants Programmes and wider team to support the management of the Chagossian Fund, one of the additional programmes managed by the Foundation and funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

Working in close partnership with FCDO and other local partners, you will ensure that the programme provides efficient and effective grant making support to meet the needs of Chagossian people living in Sussex.

The Sussex Community Foundation office is based in Lewes and there is regular travel to Crawley with the possibility of office space there.
Staff are working on a hybrid basis, attending the office 2-3 days per week.
