Apollo Music Projects is a dynamic and successful music education charity, dedicated to bringing live classical music to children who might not otherwise experience it. Since 2004, more than 18,000 children have experienced the magic of live performance through our programmes from classroom to concert hall, culminating in the thrilling spectacle of a full orchestra in concert.

We are looking for a Finance Officer to join our team, to manage our day-to-day finance and bookkeeping activities, as well as to work closely with the team regarding budgeting, and annual submission of the Annual Reports and Accounts.The Finance Officer will also play an important role as part of this small but passionate team in the operations of the charity, from fundraising through to delivery of the programme in the schools.This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a part in helping to shape the charity’s growth and expansion plans.

We are looking for an organised, enterprising and personable individual, passionate about the arts and about creating opportunities for children from a range of backgrounds to listen to and appreciate the magic of live music. This post requires someone who is able to take a high degree of responsibility, and is confident working independently, as this person will for the most part be working remotely. You will have excellent organisational skills, and a high level of precision in financial processes and bookkeeping.

The role will be mainly remote, with regular staff meetings and additional meetings with the CEO or other staff members in central London, and attendance at annual strategy days and some workshops and concerts, and may from time to time entail working outside of office hours.

Key responsibilities include:

·Bookkeeping including recording income and expenses, and other financial transactions

·Processing of invoices and payments to musicians, staff, schools and other external suppliers

·Draft annual organisational budgets and forecasting with the CEO and Treasurer

·Carry out monthly reconciliations and the preparation of monthly financial update reports to the Treasurer

·Prepare quarterly reports for trustees’ board meetings including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cashflows

·Monitoring of restricted funding

·Developing and maintaining accounting systems; and working closely with the Treasurer to develop new systems where required

·Working closely with the Fundraising Officer regarding fundraising applications and budgets, both general and specific to individual applications;

About the role

We are delighted to have received three-year funding from the Aviva Foundation to fund this brand-new Grants Officer role based in London.

You’ll be part of our Programmes team supporting kinship carers in London to access grants which will help reduce financial stress. This could be grants to buy things like white goods and uniforms or accessing Buttle grants to support children growing up in kinship care.

As Grants Officer you’ll talk to kinship carers, discuss their needs, their priorities and then write charitable grant applications on their and their family’s behalf. 

You will oversee and deliver the grants process, including co-ordinating the purchase of items (such as children’s clothes, beds or washing machines), collecting receipts for items as required by the funders and liaising with all teams to ensure timely receipt of funds within the charity and to the kinship carers.

Building relationships with funders is core, sharing the impact of the grants and insight about the lives of kinship families in London. You’ll work closely with Programmes, Peer Support, Training and Advice colleagues who work with kinship families in London.

You will also create and run online and face-to-face workshops and clinics, helping kinship carers to understand how to apply for other grants, thereby encouraging resilience and confidence to apply for grants themselves.

You will be a proactive and persuasive relationship builder, able to create partnerships with a range of organisations and peer support groups that support kinship families.

You’ll build trusting and respectful relationships with kinship carers who you will work one-to-one with in community settings. And you’ll build relationships with a range of grant giving organisations across London.

We’re looking for someone who can really deliver impact and demonstrate how embedding this role into the community helps to unlock funding and support for kinship carers at a local level.

We are looking for someone who is really organised and who is able to capture and present information clearly in a persuasive grant application. The successful applicant will be compassionate, empathetic, and organised. We are looking for someone who understands the needs of kinship families.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering our new grants service across London.
• Meeting performance targets and KPIs as directed.
• Working with kinship carers and their families across London to gather information to complete and submit grant applications.
• Administering grants we secure for our kinship carers and carry out all the necessary administration related to grants.
• Undertaking research to identify funders and build excellent relationships with local grant making charities in order to increase support for kinship families.
• Delivering grant workshops at peer support groups sharing information about locally available grants and providing advice and support on making a successful application.
• Running face-to-face grant clinics within peer support groups or community venues in London, working directly with kinship carers to write and submit requests for grants.

Essential criteria includes:

• Experience of speaking to vulnerable people on the telephone, face-to-face and online, and gathering information with empathy and understanding.
• Experience of working with socially excluded or marginalised people and their families in face-to-face and community settings.
• Experience of running online and face-to-face workshops. 
• An understanding of budgeting, managing money, income and expenditure.
• Proven understanding of the importance of confidentiality and a non-judgmental approach.
• Evidence of awareness of safeguarding issues and good practice. 
• Experience of organising and prioritising a busy workload without close supervision.
• Proven clear understanding of the need to keep grants records and communication with kinship carers and funders up to date.
• Excellent research and writing skills.

Working alongside our other Participation and Stewardship Officers and the wider team, you will assist with the design and delivery of participation programmes with a focus on organising high-quality and accessible participation activities. You will deliver a well-administered and responsive participation experience for people living with cancer, ensuring GDPR-compliant data management. You will develop and maintain systems to manage Macmillan's external networks and ensure effective, accessible management of up-to-date documents, resources, tools, and templates for colleagues. You will work the Communities and Participation leadership team to shape and maintain effective team management tools and processes.

Please note: this is a part-time role, working 21 hours across 3 days per week. We're looking for an analytical thinker to join our Facilitation and Planning team as Facilitation and Planning Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract, to cover an internal secondment.

You'll work as part of a team who are responsible for planning and scheduling of all events, conferences and one-to-one sessions across our programme suite. About you and the role

This role is key to helping us grow and empower our school and chef partners through our Membership. You’ll work closely with the Programme Manager and Procurement Manager to improve the membership offering and build a strong community of schools, chefs, and suppliers.

Your work will be varied, from managing membership administration to building supplier relationships and helping with communication between schools and stakeholders. As the membership grows, you’ll work with the team to help improve the support, networks, and systems available to members. You’ll also help with ensuring suppliers meet safety standards, deliver great produce, and offer reliable service.

In addition, you’ll assist with organising our member events, from planning and logistics to coordinating attendees and making sure everything runs smoothly.

You’ll work collaboratively with the Individual Giving Manager, helping shape our strategy to retain and steward existing individual supporters (cash, regular giving, lottery and middle donors). Managing and delivering a range of stewardship activities across multiple supporter segments and using communication channels such as email, print, social, SMS and telemarketing. About the Role 

A crucial role in the Network, you will need excellent communication skills to hold honest and respectful relationships with Youth Zone CEOs, senior leaders, Chairs and Trustees across the country. We are looking for a Hospital Carers' Lead to join our service supporting unpaid carers while the person they look after is in hospital and during the discharge process. We know that this can be a worrying and stressful time and that too often carers do not know where to turn to for information and support. Help us make sure that carers get the help and support they need, at this critical time. 

You will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering our offer for carers which seeks to increase the identification of carers within local hospitals, improve carer support during their cared for hospital stay and following their discharge from hospital. 

The Hospital Carers Lead will be responsible for: 

• Offering tailored short-term 1 to 1 support to unpaid carers, working together to develop and implement plans to help improve carers’ experiences during the hospital stay, prepare for discharge and to address carers’ own needs. 

• Supporting unpaid carers while the person they care for is in hospital via signposting to relevant support and information about their rights. 

• Working collaboratively with partners within the hospital, to raise awareness of carers and increase identification.
