About us
Who we are
Apollo Music Projects is a dynamic music education charity which brings live classical music to children in Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Brent and Enfield. Described by Sir Simon Rattle as "A national treasure", Apollo Music Projects has introduced over 16,000 primary school children to the magic of live music.
Many children from disadvantaged backgrounds do not have the opportunity to access art and culture or to experience the joy of live music, and especially live classical music. Our programme helps to address this by taking children on an inspirational journey as we gradually introduce them to the instruments of the orchestra, the musicians who play them and the music they play. Children develop their confidence, understanding and enjoyment of classical music, before experiencing a spectacular symphony orchestra concert at Hackney Empire.
"We have absolutely loved working with Apollo Music Projects. The opportunities that it has created have been invaluable and they have opened the children's eyes to something totally new. I have never seen my class so engrossed by music and to then listen to them comment on Beethovens 6th Symphony was incredible! Thank you!"
"Thank you so much! We will miss you all You all made me smile when the notes made a sound of melody into my ears."
"I really enjoyed all the sessions we had and I think what you do is fantastic!"
"Thank you David! For helping us become more interested in music than we were before. Your music delights our hearts."
