We are recruiting a Centre Manager for Malvern Cube.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and community aware person with excellent people skills to manage the Centre and lead our further development.

Malvern Cube is an exciting volunteer led community and arts centre run by Malvern Youth and Community Trust, a registered charity.  At Malvern Cube, our mission is to offer an inclusive environment for Malvern people where they can come together and share a feeling of community.  We do this by:

We hire rooms to individuals, groups and clubs for educational, social and therapeutic purposes and our clientele are aged from 0 - 104!  Our annual footfall is around 3,000 (and growing!), and we have over 50 classes and activities running each week.  Our theatre space is well used by a variety of both well-known and amateur performers and we have three resident theatre groups.  We are proud of our in-house cafe, The Garden Cafe, which prepares nutritious, affordable and delicious food fresh on site every weekday, using locally sourced ingredients.  And our sister charity, Cube Youth, provides regular youth club activities and a Youth Café.

As well as our Centre Manager, the staff team includes our Administration Manager, caretaker and cafe staff.  We also have a great team of volunteers, and a strong Board of Trustees responsible for the governance of the charity. We receive no external funding and operate largely from hire income and successful applications for grant funding.

The role

As Centre Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of this busy, vibrant community centre and engaging with the community and hirers to present a welcoming, friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Your role will include:

• promoting Malvern Cube and what it offers, developing and maintaining a strong community presence and ensuring that the facilities are well used and hire income is maximised.
• ensuring the effective robust financial management of Malvern Cube and providing regular financial reports to trustees.
• leading and developing the staff and volunteer teams
• contributing to the development of Malvern Cube's strategic plan and leading on key aspects of its implementation.
• day-to-day interface with centre users, hirers and the general public.

The Senior Direct Marketing Executive will be a key role within the Acquisition Team, as the expert in digital fundraising, a key area of growth in line with the Fundraising Strategy.  We are looking for someone who can support the Trust’s aspirations for digital transformation and ensure excellence across our digital fundraising activity.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our small and dynamic team during an exciting period of growth for the organisation. Website

• Responsibility for maintenance and development of Resurgo’s website, delivering engaging content with a focus on dynamic visuals and videos, tailored to our different website audiences.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

Oversight of Spear Programme Spear

Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education

Line management and training

• Manage the Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by River Church staff, locally, and by Resurgo, nationally, to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPI.

Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry

• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help the Assistant coaches to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensuring the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church
• Work with the Head of Operations and Fundraising Assistant to prepare successful grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
• Attend and participate in Staff Meeting, Tuesday morning Prayer Meeting, and Sunday Services (serving on a team at one or more Sunday service) • Regularly pray for Spear, River Church, and in particular our Social Transformation work.
• Attending other River Church events and services, occasionally speaking and/or contributing as required • Ad hoc tasks and other project work.

Site management

 This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.

Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.

This team helps Breaking Barriers maximise the value of its data, by conducting analysis and managing the CRM (Salesforce) and related software.

The team works across all areas of the organisation to improve processes, unlock efficiencies through automation and generate insights from data. They ensure that data is utilised to inform any innovations or refinements to our services.

The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial manager with a high level of data literacy. We are looking for someone strategic, highly organised and a strong people and team manager. They will be confident at communicating data in a variety of ways to a large range of audiences, identifying key take-aways and the broader implications of the findings on our clients and programming. They will also be able to train others in key data analysis and communication skills.

Finance and Resources Manager (Full Time)

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.  

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

We are looking for a qualified finance professional to join our friendly team in the post of Head of Finance & Corporate Services as we develop our systems, infrastructure, and income streams to secure our long-term sustainability. Central to the success of our strategy is an efficient finance function providing timely management information and strong financial controls.

You will be an astute finance professional who is able to provide sound financial advice as well having a strong grip on day-to-day financial operations. You will also ideally have experience of HR, IT, and administrative functions, and will assume company secretary responsibilities, enjoying direct liaison with our Board of Trustees.

Prospectus are delighted to be supporting Arthritis Action with the recruitment of their Finance Manager & Company Secretary. Arthritis Action is the UK charity giving hands-on, practical help to improve the quality of life of people affected by arthritis. They offer an integrated self-management approach, which looks at both the physical and mental health impact of living with arthritis. They support people living with musculoskeletal conditions through healthy eating advice, mental health resources, pain management techniques, Online Groups, employment support, and exercise advice and resources.

This is a part-time role, 4 days a week (30 hours per week). This role is hybrid, with travel to the London based office two days a week (Monday and Wednesday). The salary range for this role is £45,000-£50,000 pro rata. 

The Finance Manager & Company Secretary role is a dual role where you will ensure efficient and effective planning and management of the charity’s finances and take charge of secretarial duties. Within this role, you will develop and maintain accounting systems, control and records, while ensuring the charity is compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements. The postholder will ensure appropriate financial policy and procedures are in place, to deliver effective financial management and decision making. You will produce management accounts, oversee financial reporting and assist with legacy administration. You will manage relationships with a variety of external financial advisors and insurers.

You will play a key role managing the charity’s secretarial duties. These responsibilities include submitting information to Companies House and the Charity Commission. You will work closely with the Executive Management team, maintaining legal and financial documents, while ensuring they are filed securely, providing regular information/documentation. You will attend Board and committee meetings, ensure processes and regulations are followed and take minutes in these meetings.

To be considered for this role, you will have a professional accountancy qualification – ACCA, ACA or equivalent. You will have demonstrable experience overseeing preparation of statutory, management accounts and audit processes. You will have experience of charity accounting, reporting and legacy administration. You will have experience using accounting software and Microsoft Office. You will also have the ability to explain financial processes to non-finance staff.

You will have experience working in corporate governance and the ability to handle confidential information. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to maintain relationships with Board members and internal and external stakeholders. You will have strong negotiation skills. The postholder will have excellent organisation and administrative skills. You will enjoy working collaboratively and be able to work on your own initiative.

Summary of position​​

Art Explora is looking for an experienced Community Programme Manager with a passion for arts engagement and cultural outreach to manage and build our innovative Community Programme for Art Explora in the UK. ​​

The Community Programme Manager will lead on and develop Art Explora’s key community programme streams – Arts at Home, Theatre at Home, Music at Home, Mini Art Explorers and Art Explorers at..., and manage Art Explora UK’s growing volunteer community. The Community Programme Manager will explore ways to expand the content for this programme though new partnerships with museums, galleries and other cultural institutions, as well as expand the programme into more care homes and other care settings, such as hospitals, across the UK.  ​

The Community Programme Manager will manage Art Explora’s growing pool of 140+ volunteers. They will ensure that Art Explora has a comprehensive and supportive volunteer offer. They will review our current volunteer recruitment processes and policies, safeguarding and training procedures, and ensure we meet the highest standards for working with volunteers. ​​

The volunteer community is key to Art Explora’s strategy for scaling up arts engagement in the UK. Through the generous support of volunteers, we can bring our arts programmes to more people and spread the benefits of engaging with arts and culture more widely. We are committed to delivering a volunteer programme that is inclusive, supportive and rewarding. ​

Current Community Programmes: ​

• Arts at Home: volunteers bring conversations about art to 7 older adult care homes across London on a fortnightly basis. ​

• Theatre at Home: in collaboration with volunteer collective OW! Theatre Lab, brings theatre to older adult care homes across London.

• Music at Home: in collaboration with music charities, brings a variety of music to older adult care homes across London. ​

• Mini Art Explorers: volunteers deliver creative activities for early years children in local authority libraries and family hubs monthly. ​

• Art Explorers at...: volunteers take care home residents to galleries, theatre and museums across London. Partners include Sadler’s Wells, The Hayward Gallery and the Whitechapel Gallery. ​​

About the role​

The Community Programme Manager will bring their own experience and knowledge of outstanding community programming to build on and expand the current programme. The Community Programme Manager will manage partnerships with key stakeholders and develop new relationships with a variety of partners, from cultural institutions to new care settings. ​​​

The Community Programme Manager is a pivotal position within the small, dedicated and growing Art Explora team in the UK. The Community Programme Manager will be supported by a Community Programme Assistant and the volunteer community. We are looking for a candidate with management experience.  ​​

To achieve this, the chosen candidate will not only have a passion for arts outreach and engagement, but will also have a proven track record in project management, managing volunteers, excellent organisation and communications skills, and be experienced in building relationships at all levels – with community organisations such as care homes, volunteers, local authorities, content and delivery partners, senior stakeholders, collaborators and supporters. ​

Key Responsibilities​​

Volunteer Management​

• Manage Art Explora UK’s volunteer community including training and social events. ​

• Manage all volunteer administration including volunteer handbook, project coordination and DBS checks. ​

• Manage the volunteer journey, from expression of interest to attending programme sessions. ​

• Ensure the volunteer programme meets the highest standards of good practice. ​

• Manage the volunteer database and management software​​

Community Programme ​

• Lead and develop current Community Programme streams ​

• Develop strategy for expanding and developing the Community Programme across the UK​

• Conduct research, evaluation and consultation, as needed ​

• Partnership and key stakeholder relationship management​

• Manage the Community Programme budget and ensure the programme is delivered on time, within budget and meets targets​​

Art Explora General ​

• Train and line manage the Community Programme Assistant, work placements and interns​

Person Specification​​

Essential skills and experience ​

• At least 5 years’ experience delivering arts and cultural outreach programmes, for example within an education and engagement team for an arts organisation, or working directly with community organisations or within the care sector​

• Proven experience of volunteer management including recruitment, training, logistics and personnel management​

• A good knowledge of arts engagement practice in the UK and leading organisations in this field ​

• A proven track record of budget management and event coordination​

• Some experience of fundraising from public sector, trusts and foundations​

• A confident communicator (oral and writing), with an enthusiasm for building creative partnerships and capable of working with a wide range of senior stakeholders and partners ​

• A good knowledge of cultural policies and current cultural engagement landscape​

• Experience of implementing EDI policies and good practice, with passion for driving EDI related change in the arts and cultural sector
