The Senior Youth and Play Worker will play a pivotal role in the Children, Young People and Families team, working as the senior practitioner and ensuring the smooth running of all our programmes and services. In this role you will be part of a small and dynamic team which delivers a wide range of programmes and activities, both from our adventure playground and within local schools.
The work of the Children, Young People and Families team is diverse, and current services include open access free play and youth activities at our adventure playground, school holiday programmes with trips and activities outside of the playground, coaching in local schools, our Young Leaders programme offering paid work experience to young people and working with our youth partnerships Building Young Brixton and Lambeth Peer Action Collective. You will ensure these services are appropriately scheduled, monitored and reported on whilst working with the Head of Children, Young People and Families to plan and deliver service improvement. You will understand the wide-ranging challenges facing young people and will be flexible in adjusting your practice to meet these needs.
To be successful in this role, you will act as the senior practitioner in all our service delivery, advocating for children’s right to play throughout our programmes. You will lead on the delivery and planning of all sessions, ensuring that the children and young people’s ideas are central in the construction of a varied and engaging play environment. You will also monitor and evaluate activities in line with the Play Work Principles and requirements from our funders.

Do you want to work as part of a dynamic and engaging team supporting Young People in Northampton? Due to project expansion, Aquarius Young People’s Substance Misuse team are recruiting for several Young People’s Practitioners across the county.
Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.
You will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools, colleges & universities, places of worship, youth service provisions and local community venues. You will help to raise the profile of substance misuse services available to young people and also provide young people with that first point of contact providing advice and further direction into accessing the right support, particularly targeting outreach to engage 'difficult -to-reach' young people.
Holding relevant experience with skills or qualifications in either substance misuse/youth work/psychology/counselling/mental health/social care you will also:
- Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable people in a community setting

Tameside Supported Housing Service is tailored for each person using the service with the ultimate goal to help people manage their accommodation and assist them with reintegration back into independent living and the wider community. This scheme is available to men and women and is made up of 12 individual rooms in the main building with shared communal facilities including living room, dining room, kitchen and bathrooms. About the role
This role is available at an important time for The Access Project as we expand our mission, deliver a new programme model, and move into new school contexts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the skills for programme design and improvement, a strong interest in research, and a deep passion for our mission to support students to place and succeed at selective universities.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who is comfortable working across teams to make change. You’ll be the lead and expert on The Access Project’s in-school university readiness work with responsibility for designing and quality assuring the provision, supporting the learning and development of our front-line staff to effectively deliver the programme content. This position is integral to ensuring The Access Project is delivering a high-quality programme that supports the needs of our students and drives the outcomes of the programme across all regions and schools. The postholder will bring their knowledge of the HE sector and the experiences of our students to decisions about the direction of our own programme. They will also support further development of our programme-level Diversity and Inclusion work, to ensure that the programme is tailored where feasible to the needs of all students.
Role responsibilities
Design & Development
- Project manage and deliver our programme design process, leading the implementation of an agile, in-year approach to effectively iterate The Access Project’s Accelerate (2-year) programme.
- Lead the development of our self-paced online learning provision, incorporating learning from delivery and best practice from the sector.
- Work with the Head of Programme Development and Quality to incorporate University Access Officer, Programme Leadership, school, and student feedback on how to best drive short-term and long-term outcomes across our programmes.
- Project manage the implementation of changes driven out of programme design. This includes the creation of or changes to delivery resources and training materials, as well as our university readiness framework and the Salesforce system that supports delivery.
- Ensure we continue to update our long-standing Gateway (4-year) programme as part of standalone programme design project.
Research to inform programme design and quality
- Remain critically engaged with the widening participation/social mobility sector, and able to synthesise key changes/challenges and ensure that they are applicable/actionable by the organisation.
- Ensure that any relevant Widening Participate sector developments and trends are fed into The Access Project’s way of working. For example, this might be changes to resources for the programme or working with colleagues to communicate with students (e.g. plans for A Level Results Day).
- Provide nuanced insight about the WP/HE sector, with a coherent view of the landscape and how it’s changing, to enable The Access Project to make informed choices about our programme.
Quality Assurance
- Be responsible for the implementation of the university readiness strand of the quality assurance strategy, to drive the quality of the activities The Access Project delivers to young people in schools.
- Lead on the quality assurance of self-paced learning content, collaborating with Online Delivery colleagues to identify best practice and develop a comprehensive approach.
- Participate in The Access Project’s quality assurance processes, including performing drop-ins on University Access Officers, and coordinating with other members of the team to perform drop-ins in an efficient and effective manner.
- Embed learning from The Access Project’s quality assurance process into our standard practice. This will include training and development for University Access Officers and updates to resources and guidance for what best practice looks like.

As a key member of the senior management team, the Finance and Operations Lead will ensure that the charity has robust financial management and oversight at all levels of the operation, along with responsibility for several key operations across the organisation to ensure the smooth running of the Hearts Milk Bank services. These will include procurement, HR processes, IT, volunteer management and support with event planning. You will be an integral part of a supportive team. The Human Milk Foundation aims to be a nurturing environment which focuses on personal development, and we encourage developing independence and autonomy alongside the support of senior team members. You will ideally have an understanding of the work we do at the Human Milk Foundation and Hearts Milk Bank and the role in supporting infant and maternal health that milk banking plays. Key roles and responsibilities:
- Management of the organisation’s daily financial operations.
- Ensuring that sound and timely financial advice and information is provided internally and externally to provide a transparent picture of the Charity’s financial status.

Charity overview
The Human Milk Foundation (HMF) is a charity based at the Gossoms End NHS Health Centre in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Our goal is to support more families to feed their babies with human milk, through education, research and the supply of donor human milk.
We operate the UK’s first independent, non-profit human milk bank - the Hearts Milk Bank, providing donor human milk to neonatal intensive care units across London, the southeast, south Wales, Northumbria and East Anglia.
Much like donated human blood, there are situations where donated human milk can be lifesaving. Premature babies are very vulnerable and at risk of infections and life-threatening conditions such as necrotising enterocolitis (NEC), which causes some or all of the bowel to die. Mothers who have given birth early are sometimes unable to produce enough of their own milk straight away and can be very unwell themselves, so donor milk is often vital in protecting the baby during the first days and weeks after birth; it allows the mother the time and support to establish her own milk supply.
The HMB team recruit milk donors who undergo blood tests and complete a detailed lifestyle and health questionnaire before donating milk. Donor milk is collected from donors by volunteer SERV (“blood-biker”) volunteers and delivered to the milk bank where it is heat-treated (pasteurised) to destroy potentially harmful bacteria and viruses, checked by microbiologists to make sure that there is no unacceptable bacterial contamination and stored frozen. The milk is collected and delivered to hospitals and to mothers in the community who cannot breastfeed such as those with cancer, HIV or lack of breast tissue.
The HMB has recruited over 4,000 milk donors and supplied donor milk to feed thousands of babies, cared for in over 50 neonatal units. We have also supported more than 700 families in the community, including mothers who are establishing their own milk supply and mothers with cancer.
The Human Milk Foundation has a small team of dedicated individuals with a broad set of skills across medicine, lactation support, milk banking, research, and communications. We all have a great passion to make change to improve the health of babies, giving parents and families the support they need to be able to feed their babies, and new members of the team should share that passion.

This vacancy involves a unique opportunity to be the Sex Worker ISVA Learning and Policy Influencing Lead of an exciting new regional partnership program alongside National Ugly Mugs and POW (Notthingham) funded by the National Lottery Communities Fund. Based with Basis Yorkshire, this role will lead on influencing of policy and sharing of learning from this program to improve outcomes for sex workers who have experienced sexual violence including developing resources, organising events and sharing learning based on data from the program as well as working with those with lived experience and those in government and other authorities who help shape health and justice systems. While the post is based within Basis Yorkshire, the post can be fullfilled working hybrid, but will require frequent travel between Leeds, Nottingham, Manchester and nationally.

About the Service
North Somerset Wellbeing provides free psychoeducational workshops, courses and group activities which are available to adults living in North Somerset. These are run online and at community venues across the county. The sessions are designed to explore, improve and maintain mental health and wellbeing. In addition, brief 1:1 support can be offered to those requiring signposting to other appropriate services.

About You
- You’ll need to be a good communicator, who is creative and able to make learning accessible for all service users.
- As well as planning and delivering a range of wellbeing activities, workshops and psychoeducational courses, we are looking for someone who embraces service user involvement and coproduction work to ensure that the service provision remains meaningful and relevant to those using it.
- The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clients / carers, the team and other agencies to manage risk where needed, including making safeguarding referrals if required.
- In addition, you will assist with the recruitment and supervision of a small team of volunteers who support the service.
- You will have good organisational skills, be IT proficient and have clear record-keeping skills.
