The Role
As a Sustainability Officer, you will develop and implement sustainability initiatives and action plans across our parks.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated membership marketer with excellent communication and copywriting skills to help improve member engagement and retention and grow membership at the Library.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will join a small and busy team in the Membership department. About you
Passionate about creating engaging copy for different audiences and channels, you will have a good level of experience with e-communications, e-software, data reporting and CRMs. You will have a background in membership marketing, ideally within an arts/cultural or charity organisation, and experience in implementing marketing retention campaigns to meet set targets. You will also have experience assisting with the delivery of events and be available to work at Library events as needed.
You will have strong writing skills with attention to detail and an ability to identify and produce engaging stories. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills, be organised and plan workload effectively to meet deadlines. Room to Heal is an established therapeutic community in London. We support refugees and people seeking asylum, many of whom are torture survivors, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance, in the context of a community of survivors. Our approach recognises the political context of our community members’ multiple and ongoing experiences of trauma and marginalisation including in their home country, on their journey to, and within, the UK. As our Brand & Marketing Manager you will be at the forefront of growing and developing the Winston’s Wish brands and find new and innovative ways to reach the children and young people who need us. This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days will be the same.
From sharing the voices of our incredible Youth Ambassadors far and wide, to marketing fantastic fundraising initiatives to identifying new opportunities to reach young people, you’ll play a fundamental role in ensuring bereaved children and young people know they can put their trust in Winston’s Wish when their worlds are turned upside down by grief.
Main Responsibilities
- Marketing outreach and project management
- Work alongside the Director of Marketing & Communications to action the charity’s strategic marketing plan.

The post holder will managing and lead the effective high quality delivery of the Grief Encounter therapeutic services, including online services, through a team of Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, placement students and volunteers.
They will assist the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) in implementing and developing the therapeutic element including intensive therapeutic support, projects, budgets and service planning. This will include:
- Leading, implementing and developing therapeutic projects and service planning.
- Managing Grief Encounter therapists, supervisors, volunteers and placement students.
- Conducting assessments with families, supporting practitioners with complex cases in liaison with supervisors and delivering training.
- Ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies and guidance are being adhered to across all services, responding to safeguarding concerns and ensuring practitioners understand their safeguarding responsibilities.
- Working with the Bereavement Support Team to ensure the efficient and appropriate management of referral pathways.
