The initial focus is in the Western region of Wiltshire, where you’ll connect with people in Trowbridge, Westbury, Warminster, Melksham, Devizes and the surrounding rural areas. You’ll build partnerships with leading community organisations to strengthen and grow local support systems.

Avon Wildlife Trust is recruiting 2x Trainees to join the Pollinator Recovery Team. These 9-month placements require no previous experience or degree level education, and offer the skills and experience necessary to kickstart a career in the environmental sector.
Insects pollinate £690 million worth of crops in the UK annually, with wild pollinators carrying out 85-95% of this. Many species of bee, moth, butterfly, hoverfly, fly and beetle provide this essential, often overlooked, service. Despite this, the steep decline of pollinating insects, and the loss of the habitats that support them, are well documented.
The AWT and partner organisations in the West of England aim to halt and reverse these losses, with an ambition to become the UK’s Bee & Pollinator Capital. As a Pollinator Pathways trainee, you will help to support delivery of this ambition.
The Pollinator Pathways project focuses on the area within the ‘B-Line’ (Biodiversity line), between AWT’s reserves of Folly Farm and Browne’s Folly, with ambitions to scale up and expand this work around the Avon area.
The trainee will support the teams work with farmers, landowners and communities to grow the network of habitats between these reserves. To ensure climate resilience you will work hands on, with expert support from project staff, on a variety of priority habitats including grasslands, hedgerows, in-field trees and woodland edges, all of which are important pollinator habitats.
There is also a generous training budget which will allow successful applicants to learn new skills such as GIS (Geographic Information System), First aid, Species ID, UK habitat classification, Biodiversity Net Gain training, Brushcutter/hand tool training etc. Trainees will under-take one ‘study’ day per week where they can research/train in relevant areas of interest.
As a Pollinator Pathways trainee you will:
· Support the project team in delivering the Pollinator Pathways Project
· Carryout 1 day per week of dedicated study. Details to be agreed with the Pollinator Recovery Manager
· Gain the skills, licences and experience needed to start a career in the environmental sector
· Learn how to deliver nature recovery projects (admin and ground works)
· Obtain a good understanding of relevant legislation and funding processes
· Help arrange and run community engagement events and volunteer work days
· Shadow senior staff on farm visits and community events, assisting in writing reports for landowners
· Support habitat surveys and monitoring efforts alongside the project team

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Data Services team is one team with four functions; Data & Analysis, Data Operations, Information Governance and Partners & Projects. Functional leaders work closely together to ensure a team approach is adopted, utilising skills from across the functions to solve problems and innovate together.
The Partners and Projects function will maintain the business planning for Data Services as a whole and is the gateway for new work. Working with the functional leaders the Partner and Projects function will make decisions on how best to resource projects by either using existing resources if capacity allows or signposting to external quality providers.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The People Systems Support Team requires a permanent member of staff to provide support to our People Systems including Oracle, CMS, Pathways and future planned systems as they come online. They will play an active role within a customer-focused support team and will forge working relationships with NCIs and the Diocese.
The support analyst will provide day-to-day operational and help desk support for People System activities. The support analyst will also support the Team Leader in developing relationships with internal teams and customers in setting processes and standards for the deployment, tracking/reporting, and maintenance of data and content within the people system. They will work with the wider Data Services team to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues that arise and work with Diocesan Operational Users and staff to maintain data accuracy and integrity.

You will do this by embedding our strengths-based approach to community development and building a sustainable approach to volunteering, community engagement, and support.
You’ll champion that people know best what is needed in their local area and that they have the ideas, skills, and talents to make it happen, connecting like-minded individuals together and encouraging people to engage and act on things that matter to them.
The LGCA (about the charity)
Lyde Green Community Association CIO (LGCA) is a charity that has been set up by residents for the benefit of the community in Lyde Green and the surrounding area. It is run by local volunteers, with the objective of generating community spirit and making Lyde Green a great place to live and visit. As well as organising community events, we support a community partnership that meets regularly to solve problems that matter to residents and help the whole community shape its future.
The LGCA run and operate Lyde Green Community Centre, situated at the heart of Lyde Green near the local primary school and nursery. It is an exciting time to be working in Lyde Green, and the LGCA have received lots of support from both residents and local partners to date.
Your responsibilities
General
- · Work closely with the Charity Manager and Trustees to ensure the outcomes of the Community Connector project are delivered
- · Lead and embed the LGCA’s strengths-based community development approach
- · Work as the Charity’s Volunteer Coordinator, developing and maintaining guidance and encouraging active participation in the community
- · Help plan and support charity events
- · Being an initial point of contact for the charity’s community engagement work, dealing with enquiries across multiple channels
- · Report on and monitor project progress and agreed KPIs at the quarterly partnership meeting and via grant funding reports
- · Ensure notice boards, website and social media are up-to-date with opportunities to get involved
- · Work within LGCA’s policies and procedures
- · Undertake any other reasonable duties as required

This is a new and exciting opportunity for a seasoned climate campaigner to deploy their skills in new ways, developing change strategies that will shift the climate ambition and the investment decisions of key steel companies. The steel industry is a major driver of climate emissions and yet few in the industry feel urgency and few outside the industry know that. Your job will be to help us change that.
European-headquartered steelmakers account for a small share of production but have an important role to play in shaping a pathway for transforming the industry and setting the pace. There are companies that are innovating, while others that should be leading the way but are stuck in coal-based production. We are seeking a dynamic corporate campaigner based in Europe/Africa timezone who is able to use their creativity to design and implement campaigns to drive change in steel companies.

SteelWatch is an international climate campaign organisation established in June 2023, driving corporate accountability and action in the steel sector. Our vision is a steel industry that underpins a thriving zero emissions economy. Our priority is that the steel industry gets on track for a 1.5 degree trajectory this side of 2030.
We run corporate campaigns and challenge the global industry to replace complacency with urgent action. We currently focus on OECD countries, and specifically in Europe and Japan at present, with team members in UK/Europe and Asia Pacific timezones. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a dynamic Corporate Campaigner who will lead, develop and implement creative campaigns and strategies to drive change in steel companies. This will require using multiple pressure points across the steel value chain; shifting narratives, engaging with national campaigns, exposing inadequacy of climate plans, harnessing investor pressure, driving demands for green steel and much more. The Corporate Campaigner will work closely with our CSO allies, notably from European Fossil Free Steel Network (EFFSN) and Fair Steel Coalition, to contribute to the impacts of the wider ecosystem and to sharply define the role of SteelWatch and its campaigns. This is likely to involve collaborations beyond Europe, in North America, Africa, Asia or Latin America. As a member of the first international climate NGO specialising in steel decarbonisation, you will work with other SteelWatch team members located across Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Europe.
For the steel industry to move toward decarbonisation, technological advancement is not the only solution. We need to fundamentally drive systemic changes to the long-held methods of steel production, the iron and steel value chain and the industrial structure, and going further, the relationship between the steel industry and the future of the decarbonised society. We are looking for someone who is able to use their creativity to engage not only in negotiations to achieve GHG emissions reductions, but also in critical thinking to provoke dialogues about what our climate needs from the industry’s corporate actors and other stakeholders today, to ensure a better future for people and the planet.
Responsibilities:

Develop campaign strategies and plans in collaboration with your analytical and communication colleagues and with partner organisations, where relevant;

Track and monitor company and investment calendar, announcements and news to identify opportunities for driving change;

Plan and deliver campaign outputs; public communications, on-ground activities, media appearance, corporate engagement and other tactics, responding to emerging campaign opportunities;

Engage with relevant stakeholders, corporate actors, financial institutions, government officials, industry experts, in pursuit of the campaign strategy;

Participate actively in coalition conversations and activities;
-
Undertake necessary research and report writing for the campaigns, working closely with the Steelwatch Steel Analyst;

Give inputs to and deliver communication outputs and collaborate with the communication colleagues to respond timely to emerging news;

Contribute to measuring the impacts of the campaign and produce reports, including funder reports, where required;

Other responsibilities assigned by the Campaigns Director.
APPLICATION CRITERIA
We seek applicants with several years experience in corporate campaigning and a track record of managing the A-Z of campaign delivery. We will also consider, for entry at a more junior level, applicants with less experience but who have the campaigning mentality and strong delivery skills, with potential to grow in the role. Candidates with more substantial experience could be considered for a more senior role. For candidates of any level of experience, an appetite to learn and grow in the role is expected, as this is pioneering work.
Essential skills and experiences

At least 6 years experience in designing and implementing campaigns;

Experience with change strategies that target corporate actors to change their behaviours and business models, and with driving climate action;

Ability to understand and articulate systemic problems and solutions; experience and/or appetite for change making;

Knowledge of and natural instinct to pick up on shifting socioeconomic contexts, societal narratives and political environments;

Ability to convey argument crisply and convincingly, verbally and in written form;

Ability to collaborate with effectively with a wide variety of partners, from allies to analysts to communication experts;

Proven strong organisational skills to coordinate multiple inputs and manage different deadlines, working on immediate tasks as well as longer pieces of work;

An appetite to work in a start-up, with all the curiosity, adaptivity and learning that it entails.
Language requirements

Ability to work in English at a professional level is a requirement. Additional language in Spanish, German, French or Portuguese is preferred.

As a Training and Engagement Coordinator to the Scotland Team, you will provide effective and efficient co-ordination of resources and support, primarily related to our accredited courses, Idaa and DACA, as well as our open course and bespoke training, when capability allows. SWEDA is growing fast. Since the pandemic, the number of children, young people and adults who need our support has grown exponentially. An estimated 1.25m people in the UK have an eating disorder, and an NHS mental health questionnaire in 2023 found that 59.4% of 17-19 year olds ‘screened positive’ for having eating problems.
We have responded by expanding geographically (into Bristol and South Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire), developing our children and young people’s services and investing in the development of a fundraising team. Our Head of Fundraising has been in post for just over a year and our Fundraising & Communications Officer joined in January 2024. Now we need a Fundraising Manager to help us develop and grow our community fundraising to diversify our income and secure SWEDA’s future. We are a small and friendly team and will make you feel very welcome.
Your role will be to help us devise and deliver community and individual fundraising campaigns, secure and cultivate corporate partnerships and forge relationships with schools and other community partners. You will also recruit and manage a team of volunteers to fundraise and raise awareness. You will be someone who loves meeting people and is ambitious and driven to achieve results. You will have lots of enthusiasm, energy and ideas. You will be comfortable trying new things and in being adaptable; we want to scale our public fundraising activity and are applying a ‘test and learn’ approach. We are looking for a candidate who has the necessary skills and experience to fulfil the following role:
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, lead and deliver on income generation plans for individuals (including regular giving and appeals), community and corporate fundraising to grow SWEDA’s income year on year.
- Forge and cultivate relationships with supporters – individuals and businesses – in person, on the phone and through SWEDA’s communications channels.
