This peer support project is delivered in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust to support Carers of people with mental health conditions. This project will work to support Carers through one-to-one support, outreach, training and peer support groups.
About The Role:
Using your lived experience of caring for someone with a mental health condition, and a strengths-based approach, you will support mental health Carers in their caring role. You will provide person centred one-to-one- support, information, signposting, and advocacy, develop, and facilitate peer support groups and deliver training and outreach sessions at different locations across the borough.

Contractually this role is London-based.
Contract: Permanent, either part time of 4 days (28 hours) per week or full time (35 hours per week) options available.

You will need to have good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and CRM systems, along with a solid understanding of virtual meeting platforms for online events (e.g. Teams, Zoom).
The successful candidate will be supporting us with client management, so strong communication and organisational skills are important to help manage multiple corporate accounts.
The Team:
We are a team of three that sit within the wider Income Generation and Grants directorate. The Compassionate Employers team includes the Compassionate Employers Programme Lead, Corporate Development Manager and the Compassionate Employers Executive.
The Compassionate Employers programme and this role sit within our Corporate Development Team, within Income Generation and Grants. Compassionate Employers is a key part of Hospice UK’s Income Generation strategy.
Our Corporate Development Team works closely within and across the department. The focus in the team is on building partnerships with businesses, through commercial activity, fundraising or strategic support. Current corporate partnerships include several ‘charity of the year’ relationships, conferences and events, sponsorship, cause-related marketing partnerships, a supplier directory and a jobs board. As well as driving positive change for people affected by terminal illness and bereavement in the workplace, Compassionate Employers is an important income generation stream and ‘door-opener’ for Hospice UK.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Development Specialist will work on complex and major bids, often on multimillion consortia, commercial contracts and multi-country partnerships, and will be expected to take a high degree of responsibility for developing successful bids including negotiations with internal and external partners.
This position will drive a high-quality bidding process with institutional donors and large foundations to build a healthy and sustainable funding pipeline so that CIUK can achieve our programme goals. Responsibilities and Person Specification:
We are recruiting for two Generalist Advisers - one permanent and one fixed term contract for 12 months. The roles are an integral part of the day-to-day delivery of our Advice and Support Service, which has been re-shaped and went live in the summer of 2024. The service is targeted at older people in or facing financial hardship, and provides information, advice and follow up support to older people, their friends, family and professionals.
As a Generalist Adviser you will be responsible for providing advice and support during calls received through the duty line, pre-booked appointments and short term casework.
You should have knowledge and experience of advising on a wide range of topics, including Welfare Benefits, Housing and Social Care. You should have experience of working within an advice setting and advice supervision framework such as the AQS framework. You will have a warm, supportive and person-centred approach, working alongside individuals in a holistic manner.

Job Summary
CAAS provide an ADHD and Autism Support Service for the 8 boroughs of NW London, from our base in Eastcote, with a team of Support Workers. Our work includes offering information, advice, and support to ADHD / autistic people, their families, and professionals in NW London, with the aim of improving quality of life and developing neurodiverse-aware communities. Some of the support is offered through one2one meetings, some of the support is provided through groups and courses which aim to increase understanding and awareness, and provide opportunities for peer support, and some of the support is offered through training and workshops to educate professionals and drive for accommodations to be made to services to allow greater access for our client group.
The Family Team Lead will assist the Family Service Manager in overseeing the operational running and leadership and management of our Family Team at our centre in Eastcote.
The Family Team Lead will be responsible for the line management of some of our Family Support Workers, as well as the direct delivery of services, including being the lead facilitator on some of our parenting courses. As such, we are looking for a friendly, organised and hard-working individual. About the role
This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub.
You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers. You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.
Funded by the Department of Education, the National Peer Support Service is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an individual located in easy reach of Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire, who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:
· Develop new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities

You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey towards sustainability.
As a practical thinker, you will work creatively to identify stakeholders and assets in areas of high need. You will build local connections and bring together kinship carers across the region, empowering them to build resilient and robust peer support communities.
You will be confident in building relationships that generate referrals from external stakeholders and in contacting kinship carers directly to secure engagement with local coffee mornings, community, and training events that will help kick-start a thriving peer support group.
As you establish new groups, you will provide support and training to help them lead their groups effectively, and develop their group culture, resilience, and skills to function independently while offering reassurance and support to empower them.
We are ideally looking for candidates based in easy reach of Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire. Key development areas for this post will initially include; Oldham, Bury, Tameside, Doncaster, York and the East Riding of Yorkshire. You may be required to support the development of groups in North Lincolnshire. This role may also involve work to establish groups on the periphery of this area that currently have no dedicated Development staff.
An essential requirement of the role is to be a driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes.

- Set up and develop sustainable in person peer support groups, initially attending and leading sessions in person before transition to self-sufficiency.

About the role
The Casework Service main aim is to ensure that survivors and families have access to the benefits and support they are entitled to. This means working directly with local authorities and statutory organisations, or signposting to relevant partners.
Through our Better Together project at the Royal London Hospital and Queens Hospital Romford we offer early intervention inside the hospital, so that brain injury survivors and their family can access information, emotional support and assistance.
As a Caseworker you will be working closely with people with acquired brain injuries through our Better Together project, in support groups and in one-to-one casework appointments. You will be providing advice, advocacy, support and signposting.

1. Support people with lived experience of brain injury, families and carers through Casework projects and support groups. This could be in accessing the right benefits, housing issues or gaining the right care moving forward.

Community Rail Network is a not-for-profit organisation, working across Britain, supporting a growing ‘community rail’ movement, which helps communities get the most from their railways, promotes sustainable and inclusive travel, coordinates volunteering and place-making, and brings people together.
Community rail is made up of 75 community-based partnership organisations, and around 1,200 station friends volunteer groups and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects for young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence with families and disabled people, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener travel and tourism by rail.
Our enthusiastic staff team of 22 people works mainly from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to advise our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights via decision-makers and the media. About this role
The purpose of this role is to provide support and advice to community rail partnerships and groups on delivering maximum benefit within and with their communities, working collaboratively with the railways and wider partners. The role will support our members across an area covering the West Midlands, Central England and East Anglia, so it is desirable for you to be based in this area.
You’ll be comfortable engaging and advising local groups and communities to extend existing and set up new initiatives, and to reach wider audiences with an evidence-led, place-based approach. As well as supporting local groups, you’ll work closely with the rail industry, and wider third and public sector partners to ensure collaboration and shared success.

1. Provide direct support and advice to CRPs and their officers, and other community rail groups in the region. The community rail support officer reports to our regions support manager within the Support and Development team. This is a new position, expanding our small team.
The role is 3.5-4 days per week (25.9 to 29.6 hours) with a degree of flexibility and out-of-hours working (evenings and weekends). It is home-based, but with regular travel (including occasional overnight stays) across your region and occasionally beyond for member meetings and events and to take part in our wider national activity. Applicants will need local access to a train station to enable rail-based travel for work as needed, including good links across the Midlands and East of England.

Part-time flexible (likely minimum 18.5 Hrs p/w), salary £27,000 pro-rata, 20 days annual leave pro-rata, 3-month probationary period.
Bladder cancer is not a rare cancer – but it does have a low profile, lack of awareness, low research investment and desperately needs new treatments. Over 22,000 people are diagnosed each year in the UK – there is a high level of recurrence. There is a lack of information and support for patients. With your help, Action Bladder Cancer UK can radically improve this.
The role
ABC UK is an established charity, with exciting new projects. We have an active network of volunteers, a full time Chief Executive and core staff and a range of project staff. You will report to Chief Executive ABC UK and will work closely with our ABC UK Patient Support team, ABC UK trustees and patient volunteers.
The role supports ABC UK’s core Patient Support Programme. We provide information and support for those with bladder cancer, a direct patient support service, help establish and sustain support groups for bladder cancer patients, provide patient information about bladder cancer to patients and major centres of bladder cancer treatment, and run bladder cancer information events (both online and face to face). We also work to increase our networks with health professionals, to help them support their patients. We run the ABC UK Education Programme for health professionals and you will be involved in planning and delivering nurse education events. We want to build our networks both regionally and nationally and to be responsive to the need for information, awareness and support for those with bladder cancer, and the health professionals treating them. We now want to add to the team to increase our impact even further.
You will work remotely, however very much working as part of the Patient Support team, and working closely with other colleagues and volunteers, with regular catch-up meetings (online) and occasional face to face team meetings. You will also be required to travel as necessary for meetings and patient or health professional events and to help create and sustain our networks with health professionals and cancer support services. You will be based in the North of England and within easy travelling distance of centres such as Sheffield, Leeds, Hull and further North and adjacent counties. We may consider candidates outside of these regions, if they have directly appropriate experience and skills.

You will be in contact with a range of different people including volunteers, patients, health professionals and other organisations. The successful candidate will:
- be friendly and approachable, able to work flexibly, with resilience and efficiency and to be professional at all times and be able to work to our very high standards;
- be empathetic and understanding of the needs of cancer patients and how best to deliver this in practical terms;
- ideally have some health service or charity experience - not essential but preferable;
- be required to understand the structure of the NHS;

- be able to work remotely with line manager, other team colleagues, volunteers, patients and ABC UK administration office;

- be confident at presenting and talking to groups of people – whether general public, patients or health professionals;

Skills
You will need to:
- be able to communicate effectively with health professionals, other charity professionals and bladder cancer patients both face to face and via phone or email;
- have good organisational skills and be disciplined about working from home (it is likely you will already have experience of remote working);
- be comfortable communicating and carrying out a lot of your work by phone and email and online platforms (eg Zoom), you will have excellent verbal and written skills;
- be an excellent team member – we all work closely together as well as on own work;
- have good computer skills: Outlook, Word, basic Excel, maintaining a database, Zoom etc;
- have experience of organising and attending events (preferably for patients or within a health environment); be happy to speak at events. Have experience of online events;
- be able to work with and organise volunteers;
- be able to travel for meetings and events as required (occasionally out of office hours);
- possess a clean driving licence and have easy access to a car (mileage will be paid).
Key Responsibilities
Networking
- Contact point for Hospitals/Urology Depts/Cancer Centres. Making pro-active contact and arranging supply of bladder cancer patient information and building relationships on a regional basis;
- Building contacts with specialist urology/cancer nurses, making them aware of ABC UK and our resources;
- Maintaining up-to-date contact database: including major urology departments, cancer centres, regional cancer networks etc;
- Regional contacts (working with volunteer patient advisors) – including regional cancer networks/charities etc – to build local networks;
- Co-ordinating periodic mailings of ABC UK patient information materials to hospitals/urology services (mailing handled by central admin).
Events
- ABC UK runs both face to face and online events. Organising and attending ABC UK patient and health professional events, working as part of a team with other ABC UK Patient Support Officers and volunteers;
- Occasional attendance at/involvement with regional cancer events, health professional and/or patient or well-being events (including taking the ABC UK stand to such events);
- You will also be required to present at events on occasion – both online and face to face;
- Organising, development of (with colleagues) and participation in ABC UK online patient events and face to face events, and ABC UK health professional events both online and face to face.
Patient Support Groups
ABC UK works to help set up and maintain support groups for bladder cancer patients – these groups are self-running, often linked to a major hospital.
- Help maintain database of Groups: contact details, details of meeting etc – including information for updating ABC UK website and ABC UK social media;
- Acting as ABC UK contact point for bladder cancer patient support groups, including making presentations;
- Pro-actively maintaining regular contact with PSG’s – re supply of ABC UK materials, updating info, ascertaining needs re other materials or support required and developing best practice case studies;
- Working with health professionals wanting to set up new groups, periodically attending group meetings and meeting volunteers.
Patient Materials
Working with ABC UK Executive, ABC UK Patient Support team and patient volunteers on the development of patient information materials both on-line and in print.
Communications
- News Updates: contributing as part of a team on regular news updates for health professionals, support groups and patients;
- Social media: working as part of a team on increasing ABC UK social media presence.
This job description defines the main areas of work, although as we are a small organisation and are also developing new activities, you may be asked to help with other areas of ABC UK's work from time to time.
Purpose: you will be the key resource within a small fundraising team, with responsibility for applying and securing funding to cover our core costs, as well as grant applications for specific community activities and building projects. As the only paid member of this team, you will take the lead in researching, applying for, and reporting on grant application progress with charitable trusts and other potential funders, in line with our fundraising strategy. You will also be a member of our Operations Team, which meets weekly to oversee the day-to-day efficient running of The Hub.
Contract: 2-year contract initially, subject to successful completion of a 4-month probationary period.
Hours: 8-12 hours per week, to be agreed upon appointment. Within reason, we are flexible about when these hours are worked throughout the week, although we would expect the successful candidate to regularly attend the weekly Operations Team meetings on Tuesdays, in person.
Background:
The Leatherhead Community Hub (LCH) was established in July 2020, as a dedicated community centre in North Leatherhead. LCH provides opportunities for people to come together socially and build community, as well as giving our partner organisations a permanent base from which to offer critical support and services to local residents, including the local Foodbank and Community Fridge. Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming space at the heart of the community, where people of all ages can connect, learn, have fun, and find the support they need to thrive. The Hub attracts around 3,000 visitors a month to our café and the many other community activities and events run by LCH, our partners and other local groups.
LCH has a yearly budgeted turnover of over £200,000 (2024/25), excluding funds raised for a major building project. Just over a half of this amount is from the café & tenant rental income, and the remainder is from grants & fundraising activities (including a 3-year grant from the National Lottery).
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Researching potential funding opportunities, with a particular focus on charitable trusts and local authority grant schemes. (Other members of the fundraising team will take the lead in fundraising from local businesses, schools, and churches).
- Submitting a regular flow of small and larger grant applications to meet core costs and match other identified funding needs, with support from the rest of the fundraising team.
- Attending monthly meetings with the fundraising team, including setting the agenda and updating the rest of the team on progress towards our fundraising targets.
- Maintaining a database of past, current and prospective grant applications, as well as digital copies of all grant applications, award letters, etc.
- Monitoring and fulfilling the reporting requirements of successful grant applications, ensuring that we are collecting information on outputs/outcomes set out by funders.
- Attending weekly meetings of the Operations Team, to keep in touch with what is going on at the Hub and identify future funding priorities.
