We are seeking an exceptional fundraiser who can offer a strong track record of driving organisational growth in the voluntary sector. Multi-year experience in two or more of the following core service areas is essential:

• Achieving major grant funding from trusts, foundations, lottery distributors, public sector agencies or similar.
• Planning and developing successful fundraising strategies and action plans.
• Undertaking voluntary sector project evaluations / developing M&E frameworks.
• Planning and developing successful contract tender submissions.

The role is varied and interesting - managing a portfolio of clients and supporting them directly or strategically with their fundraising, impact evaluation and organisational development. Our consultants are all employees and we work closely together as a supportive team, sharing and developing skills and knowledge. We anticipate the appointee may not hold experience across all core areas of our services. We will enable the appointee to focus on projects that play to their strengths and experience and provide further support and training as necessary.

Based from home (must be UK resident), with ad hoc client and team meetings/socials (all travel paid), mostly within England. All IT equipment provided. Full-time or part-time (minimum 0.8 FTE - 28 hrs).

Age UK Mid Mersey has just been awarded National Lottery funding to develop and deliver evidence-based Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) group programmes for older people experiencing cognitive impairment or who are diagnosed with mild to moderate dementia.  MCST is a weekly group programme for people living with mild to moderate dementia or cognitive impairment. Group members take part in meaningful and stimulating activities, proven to help maintain memory and mental functioning. The groups provide a fun, supportive environment where people can build new friendships.

The programme will be overseen by an MCST Team Leader and delivered by a team of four MCST Facilitators, who will work in delivery pairs, and two carers support workers. One MCST Facilitator pair will deliver 2 group sessions a week in Halton and Warrington and the other pair in St Helens and Knowsley.

We are recruiting four part-time MCST Facilitators who will work in delivery pairs. One pair will deliver group programmes in Halton and Warrington and be based in our Runcorn Office. The other pair will deliver programmes in St Helens and Knowsley and be based at our head office in St Helens.

The facilitators will work closely with the MCST Team Leader to plan and deliver MCST programmes in their two Boroughs. Each programme will run for 12 weeks and will consist of four-hour activity sessions with a shared lunch. Facilitators will adapt the session delivery to meet the needs and specific interests of group participants ensuring the sessions are engaging and meaningful.

Facilitators will also work closely with the carers support workers and ensure that joined up support is provided to participants and their significant others.

Travel across Mid-Mersey is expected so the post holder must have access to their own vehicle and a full clean driving licence.

Full training in MCST will be provided alongside comprehensive induction and role specific training.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Purpose of the post

HDR UK and the BHF Data Science Centre are committed to meaningful involvement and engagement where patients and the public are actively involved in shaping our work and decision-making. Reporting to the Centre’s Operations Director, this is a pivotal role that will be integral to ensuring the patient and public voice is embedded in our work at all stages.

You will work closely with public members, research and NHS communities, internal colleagues, charity partners, and funders to develop and implement plans for PPIE activity across all of our key areas of interest, in addition to the governance of the Centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for meaningful involvement and engagement of patients and the public, to shape and influence our work on the safe, ethical and scientifically robust use of data for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of all diseases of the heart and circulation.

The successful candidate will have a track record in working with individuals, groups and communities and have the ability to communicate complex information in clear, engaging ways. The post holder will have excellent influencing and negotiation skills, experience of working on complex projects with multiple partners and be comfortable with working at pace. Main responsibilities

Embedding PPIE in our work

• Lead on the delivery of the PPIE strategy for the BHF Data Science Centre, with oversight from the Operations Director, incorporating regular (e.g. annual) reviews and updates of the strategy.
• Lead and facilitate meetings with public contributors to integrate meaningful PPIE throughout all aspects of our work.
• Undertake and manage specific involvement and engagement activities, including but not limited to focus groups, engagement events, developing and undertaking surveys, supporting the writing of plain English summaries of projects and their outputs. In collaboration with senior colleagues, support involvement of patients and the public in the governance of our work.
• Review and provide advice on PPIE elements of research applications ensuring adequate PPIE is incorporated and provide advice where needed to researchers. 
• Develop methods to expand reach and ensure diversity of perspectives and work with the HDR UK PPIE team to grow involvement of currently underrepresented and underserved groups in health data science.
• Build and manage relationships with colleagues within the BHF Data Science Centre, working collaboratively to support and manage involvement and engagement across all areas of work.
• Work closely with the internal communications colleagues to create and disseminate engaging content (e.g. news stories on outputs and impact, videos, infographics, case studies) on our work and involvement and engagement activities using a variety of communication tools.
• Horizon scan and liaise with colleagues across the BHF Data Science Centre and HDR UK for opportunities to increase visibility of the institute’s engagement and involvement impact, i.e. through conferences, festivals, journals and other publications.

Developing PPIE best practice and collaborative working

• Incorporate best practice in our work, learning from examples of successful patient and public engagement that could influence our work
• Provide briefings for colleagues to share best practice and examples of successful patient and public engagement
• Collaborate with PPIE colleagues to coordinate public outreach initiatives and other events, ensuring that stakeholders are afforded opportunities to contribute their input and provide feedback. Establish effective working relationships and ‘ways of working’ with strategic partners to maximise opportunities for collaboration in patient and public involvement and engagement.
• Act as an internal and external ambassador for public, patient and practitioner engagement and involvement.
• Monitor and report on performance of PPIE across the Centre, make effective use of digital approaches to maximize the ability to collaborate, communicate and continuously learn.

Supporting PPIE members

• Be the point-of-contact for all BHF Data Science Centre public contributors, ensuring they are kept updated, receive all information in a timely manner and that any issues are dealt with in a sensitive manner.
• Lead on the recruitment of new public contributors as required. Adapt, develop and provide training for public contributors where necessary identifying training requirements as needed.
• Working with BHF Data Science Centre colleagues, maintain patient and public contact lists in Hubspot (CRM).

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Experience

• Experience of working with patients, carers and members of the public with diverse interests.

Role description

The Communities Lead is a critical role in developing and delivering the Centre for Excellence in Community Investment, facilitating its national and local thematic networks, engaging with colleagues across and beyond the social housing sector and identifying potential opportunities for collaboration. We’re all about fostering communities of practice and supporting the sector to have a transformative impact in local communities it works alongside across the UK.

Working closely with the Head of Communities and Projects, the Communities and Network Lead will ensure that the activities of the Centre’s networks align with and inform the overarching strategy of the Centre for Excellence in Community Investment. Our networks are spaces for learning, collaboration, problem solving and building positive social impact.

As well as providing a light touch secretariat function to the networks, the post-holder will coordinate activities, identify potential speakers and liaise with network chairs to deliver programmes of work that engage and generate impact.

The Communities and Network Lead will be comfortable representing HACT and the Centre externally, identifying emerging trends and working with the Head of Communities and Projects, and other HACT colleagues, to support the delivery of a programme of work that delivers lasting impact across the social housing sector at a national level.

Key responsibilities

 • Leading the development and delivery of the Centre for Excellence in Community Investment’s numerous networks, involving people across the housing sector in agreeing each network’s purpose, governance, membership and activity.

• Work closely with the Head of Communities to ensure that network activities align with and inform the overarching strategy and aims of the Centre for Excellence in Community Investment.

• Identify new opportunities for collaboration, working with network members to understand the outcomes they hope to achieve and with the Head of Communities and Projects and the Head of Business Development to develop potential project proposals.

• Developing and delivering project plans for each network, collating relevant metrics in order to report on progress internally and to project funders, as required.

• Support network groups, organising meetings, liaising with participants, involving them in key decisions, reporting on progress, shaping workplans.

• Identify new individuals, groups and organisations that will be of interest to the networks.

• Identify needs and opportunities across the community investment sector for capacity building support, consultancy and subscriptions.

At this pivotal time for 38 Degrees, an exciting opportunity has arisen to manage our Public Affairs & Media offering. We’re looking for an effective communicator, who is great at collaborating and has a track record of delivering significant media and public affairs campaign results. You’ll bring to life and manage the implementation of 38 Degrees’ media and public affairs strategy, in service of 38 Degrees’ mission: to make our country fairer, more respectful and sustainable. As we adjust to a shift in our political environment, this brand new role will relentlessly and powerfully amplify 38 Degrees campaigns and the voices of our supporters to the general public, the media and decision makers in the UK.

You’ll manage our Public Affairs & Media team, including a new Public Affairs & Media officer role – working together, and with colleagues across the campaigns team and beyond,  to execute our Public Affairs & Media strategy and deliver impressive results. Whilst this is a Manager role, it’s also a very hands on role – you’ll be as at home picking up the phone to regional TV to discuss local supporters whose experiences could make perfect case studies for the big story of the day, and helping those people tell their story, as you are meeting with MPs and their staff to use our Campaigns By You platform to run campaigns on local issues in their constituencies.

You’ll relish a newsroom atmosphere and will be happy that no two days at 38 Degrees are the same, as you focus on amplifying campaigns and making a difference which helps change lives, little by little.

Your background and experience

We’re looking for someone who can effectively grasp the 38 Degrees approach to public affairs, which combines pressure and persuasion – and who is confident in pursuing both. You will be able to show you can use both, in the right circumstances: from liaising with Metro Mayors on possible partnership campaigns, to commissioning and landing coverage of snap polling that demonstrates public opinion on government plans. The person recruited will need to be a brilliant communicator, and be passionate about opening up democracy and making political and corporate change accessible to all.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have excellent political and news judgement – you know what can make a story and what impact that story can have on decision makers.

You’ll be extremely comfortable speaking to politicians and their teams, along with journalists, other communications teams in partner organisations, and 38 Degrees supporters who act as case studies in our campaigns. You may already have extensive journalist or political networks and relationships, and you’ll have definitely had results. We’re looking for a person who knows the political and news agenda each day, and can help set it too.

You’ll be equipped with the skills to develop a new team, with the skills and experience to manage more junior members of staff, setting clear, inspiring and exciting shared goals.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a positive, practical person adept at building cross-team relationships,  bringing people with you  to solve problems in a collaborative way.

Role outline and purpose

This role is accountable for developing and shaping the data and insight capability across our Helpline Services, Income Maximisation and Journey Improvement strands of the Financial Inclusion programme, working across all 4 nations and using this evidence to help ensure that people in crisis can access timely and high-quality advice. 

The role utilises subject matter knowledge to provide specialist data and insight analysis on demand, investment and performance on national and local services and partnerships, providing clear and actionable insights to drive informed decision making to help deliver improved experience and outcomes for people in crisis.  The post works closely with the food bank network, partners and key teams across the organisation to implement the financial inclusion strategy, whilst also leading on with data and insight requirements of Operations, Fundraising, Strategy & Impact, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Participation and Policy & Research colleagues to achieve our vision of a UK without the need for food banks.

Role responsibilities

· Develop and be accountable for the collation and aggregation of evidence for the financial inclusion programme at a national and local level, including reach and impact, implementing and oversight of the ongoing management of reporting processes, and using appropriate data systems.

· Responsible for defining research requirements and providing insights for key stakeholders including Income Maximisation Helpline Services and Journey Improvement teams, food banks and external stakeholders in line with operational plans, enabling decision making based on accurate data and insight.

· Leading on commissioning and managing external research agencies to carry out research and evaluations of financial inclusion services, based on stakeholder requirements.

· Lead on all aspects of service and partnership reporting, and the production and presentation of reports and briefings on the impact of the financial inclusion programme, conveying insight across the charity as appropriate.

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

Are you passionate about developing and coordinating innovative capacity building approaches for complex humanitarian contexts? Could you be our new remote Capacity Building and TeleHealth Project Lead?

UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the NHS, we’ve been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit.

As the focal point for UK-Med’s Telehealth and Capacity Building in Sudan project (REACHES Sudan), the Project Lead will play a critical role in delivering this 10-month initiative, funded by the Sudan Humanitarian Fund and in collaboration with Relief International. The project aims to provide integrated, life-saving healthcare to vulnerable populations in Sudan through innovative remote telehealth and capacity-building interventions.

The Project Lead will focus on designing and coordinating impactful training programs for healthcare workers, ensure learning is aligned and developed based on real-time needs, and managing digital capacity building and telehealth delivery platforms. This role includes working closely with the Health Advisor and senior leadership to develop and document UK-Med’s telehealth methodology, paving the way for sustainability and future use in emergency response programming.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in learning and capacity building, preferably with experience in designing and piloting new training methodologies. Ideally you will be able to use your experience in humanitarian programming to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose, impactful and accessible in complex humanitarian emergencies. You will have excellent project management skills and the ability to adapt to evolving needs.

A positive, flexible, and solutions-oriented approach is essential, as is the willingness to support in-person training delivery when required.

The Role

What are the responsibilities of the Independent Child Trafficking Guardian:

Support for Children: Independent Child Trafficking Guardians support children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation, working alongside other professionals to ensure that children receive appropriate support in line with their needs. 

 Within this role some of your responsibilities will be: 

• Supporting professionals, including Social Workers, Police, Youth Justice Teams, Foster Carers and Residential Support Workers, to identify children exploited through modern slavery and refer them into the Service 
• Provide advice, guidance and information about child trafficking and initial safety planning to professionals through 1:1 case consultations or attendance at multi-agency meetings 
• Develop initial needs assessments and action plans 
• Support practitioners from partner agencies to meet the needs of children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation
• Manage a substantial caseload of young people supported through direct and indirect work, working within the requirements of service Key Performance Indicators and in line with Home Office Guidance.
• Support children through face-to-face contact and online platforms using creative approaches to ensure that children receive an excellent standard of specialist support within the boundaries of the role.
• Identify and respond to safeguarding, alerting managers to concerns and working with staff from partner agencies to deliver a robust safeguarding response.
