About the Service

The Crisis Centre and rest of Nightlight Services (Café’s, Helpline, Daylight provision) is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways. We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis cafes and 24/7 Crisis Centre. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.

As a member of our diverse team, you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect. By honouring the individual experience of each service user, we are able to respect their autonomy as well as encourage and facilitate positive steps towards management of crisis and recovery.

About the Role

The Crisis House Support Worker will be a key member of staff supporting the delivery of the Nightlight Mental health Crisis Service.

Alongside other members of the Crisis Centre team, providing effective operational leadership delivering the Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Centre Service. Taking part in a rota which covers 24/7 hour service, 365 days a year. Drawing upon your own lived and/or professional experience (where applicable,) in order to provide a mix of face-to-face, therapeutic and holistic support for those accessing the overnight bed based provisions and supporting the operations of the Nightlight Crisis Helpline during its hours of delivery. Working closely with other staff as part of a team in supporting the development of quality Crisis Support and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the provision.

Whilst experience is advantageous, the most important thing to us and the people we support is having the right values, skills and commitment to delivering high quality, person centred mental health crisis support.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide emotional support and work towards developing, flexible and realistic crisis/person-centred plans with Service Users.
• To work within agreed guidelines with and for Service Users, whilst being guided and supported by Senior Staff (as well as the Leadership team) in regards to documents/plans such as: Assessments of Need, Risk, Crisis support plans and Review forms.
• To draw upon one’s own lived experience as appropriate (If applicable), as to promote the delivery of person centred support.
• To provide immediate and appropriate advice and information to clients as to support with crisis prevention.
• To liaise with Nightlight management and external services such as: police, ambulance service, Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, Single Point of Access, Safeguarding Out of Hours Service, Mental Health Liaison Teams, Adult Community Mental health Services, etc. as needed in terms of accepting referrals and proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitating appropriate support.
• Complete appropriate signposting/onward referrals to both internal and external services in accordance with identified needs and risks.
• Ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standards at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements.
• Arranging transport for service users to facilitate access to services as needed.
• Assisting with house keeping/cleaning tasks as necessary and reporting any maintenance problems in line with policy and Health and Safety standards.
• Support clients with activities of daily living as required.

Purpose and Overview

The PCREF Programme aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate racial disparities in the services provided by the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Trust. The programme's success will be monitored through the Trust’s Performance & Quality system, emphasising collaboration between the Trust's staff, Black service users, their carers, and Black communities. The goal is to ensure equitable access, experiences, and outcomes for Black citizens utilising the Trust's services.

The Programme Manager for the Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs) in Lambeth and Southwark is crucial in advancing the objectives of the PCREF. This role focuses on fostering active community participation, building capacity, and ensuring that Black communities are equal partners in the transformational change programme. The Programme Manager will lead the development and support of local IAGs, ensuring robust governance, structure, and capacity building to improve mental health services.

Supporting the IAGs and the IAG chairs is fundamental to this role. It serves to enhance the capacity of the IAGs and chairs. Whilst the job description provides a succinct outline of responsibilities, ultimately the needs of the IAGs will be paramount, with direct leadership from the Director at Black Thrive. This role is in collaboration with various stakeholders, with a clearer focus on project mismanagement and varied learning styles. Leadership must be aligned with the IAGs, ensuring diverse and inclusive practices.

Supporting policy development is crucial, and there should be an agreement on oversight, with all parties having joint oversight and review responsibilities. Reporting back to the IAGs will be a key component.

The Programme Manager is expected to be a proactive and strategic leader, passionate about equity in mental health services and capable of driving meaningful change through collaboration with diverse community members and partners. This role demands a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where Black communities can actively participate in shaping mental health services.

Duties and Responsibilities

DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT

· Establish and Develop IAGs: Lead on supporting the creation and ongoing development of local IAGs in Lambeth and Southwark, ensuring robust governance structures and effective capacity building.

· Resource Management: support in Identifying and secure necessary resources, including financial, human, and material, to support IAG activities in both boroughs.

· Recruitment and Role Assignment: support in the recruit of diverse community members from Lambeth and Southwark to join IAGs, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and assigned.

· General Management Duties: Temporarily oversee and manage day-to-day operations, supporting community service development initiatives and ensuring smooth running of IAG activities.

COMMUNITY ENGAGMENT AND COLLABORATION

· Facilitate Community Engagement: Support both IAG chairs in enhancing community engagement through active participation in IAGs, collaborating with SLaM and various voluntary/community organisations.

· Encourage Broader Participation: Foster participation from various community, statutory, and non-statutory organisations in IAG and PCREF activities.

· Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, facilitating networking opportunities, and representing IAGs at PCREF events both online and in-person.

· Support IAGs: Provide continuous support and enhance the operational capacity of IAGs through regular check-ins, resource allocation, and problem-solving assistance.

COMMUNICATION AND PROMOTION

· Event Coordination: Plan, host, and deliver events, conferences, training sessions, and workshops to promote local services in both boroughs.

· Develop Communication Tools: Produce and disseminate communication materials in collaboration with the IAGS such as newsletters, toolkits, booklets, and feedback forms to support IAG activities and community engagement.

The Role:

As the Head of Therapy Services you will manage our team of 17 therapists and lead the planning, resourcing, delivery and evaluation of our therapy services, ensuring provision of consistent and high-quality interventions. 

Key Responsibilities:

•Be responsible for the planning, resourcing, delivery and evaluation of clinical services

•Manage enquiries, referrals, waiting lists and case allocation to therapists

•Manage the production, oversight, and monitoring of therapy contract proposals and service level agreements

You will be a Youth and Wellbeing Practitioner/Assistant Psychologist who is passionate about supporting MAC-UK’s objective of working collaboratively with young people, innovating services and systems and their approach to mental health, to address health and social inequalities. We aim to support services to be more accessible, flexible and responsive to excluded groups, and to change the systems that lead to and maintain inequality.  This role is ideal for someone who is looking to develop their skills in youth and community work and/or working towards a qualification (degree equivalent) in Youth Work, Social Work, Therapeutic Practice, Clinical/Educational/Forensic/Counselling Psychology.

We are very excited to be part of a pilot service, new in England working as part of a consortium of four organisations, alongside Lambeth Council. This will be a residential support service for young people aged 16-24 years at risk of serious youth violence, who are already caught up in the criminal justice system and at high risk of remaining part of the system.

You will be working in one of three London properties alongside a large multi-agency staff team made up of experts by experience/profession in psychology and therapy; youth work; offending; education, training, and employment (ETE) and housing. The service will work creatively and holistically to enable young people to exit environments involving youth violence, identify and reach their goals and aspirations, move on successfully to appropriate independent living, and importantly to sustain this life.  Wherever possible staff and young people will co-produce what this service looks like and what activities the young people engage in.  This is a great opportunity if you are interested in therapeutic practice, and developing or using your therapeutic skills alongside the area of social action.

Stormbreak’s vision is to embed mentally healthy movement programmes and services that reach and help every child requiring support at a preventative level through education, health and social sectors. Stormbreak supports trusted adults that live with, work with, care for and support children to recognise, respond and regulate their mental health through movement.

Stormbreak has developed and delivered (face to face and digital) Together programmes for foster and adoption families guiding them to use mentally healthy movement to support the emotional health and wellbeing of their foster and birth children.

There is a growing need to support the mental, emotional and physical wellbeing of children in order to reduce the potential onset of long term mental ill health, mitigate escalation and prevent crisis point. Recent years have seen an unprecedented surge in demand for mental health care in children across the UK.

Looked after children are highly vulnerable to emotional and relationship difficulties, putting them at risk of long-term mental health issues and placement breakdown with their carers. 

Many foster parents struggle to cope with the emotional and mental health challenges of the children they look after.  If they cannot access support or do not develop the necessary skills and emotional capacity, this can lead to placements breaking down and more resulting mental health challenges for the foster children who can then feel even more unloved, uncared for and abandoned.

Primary Responsibilities:

• To support the stormbreak Together programme delivery (face to face and online). 

• To establish and collaborate with external project partners and stakeholders, e.g. local authorities, independent fostering and adoption agencies, residential care settings.

• To identify and develop partnership networks of local delivery partners/stakeholders and project beneficiaries including (but not limited to) local authorities, independent fostering and adoption agencies, residential care settings, health and education professionals, family support practitioners and other professionals to raise awareness and promote engagement in the programmes.

Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN) delivers Hertfordshire’s CAMHS Early Help Digital Intervention Service, With YOUth. The CYP Group Facilitator will be responsible for implementing and delivering the group support aspect of an innovative partnership between BfB Labs and HMN. Together, we will provide a countywide early help digital intervention service that is accessible to children and young people and their families, aged 5-18, at the earliest point of an emerging emotional wellbeing and/or mental health need. The service will operate between 14:00 – 22:00 seven days a week.

About the Role

Our trauma-informed model offers a range of support options for CYP, based around digital interventions and supported by one-to-one and group sessions, so children and young people can engage in the way that works best for them. The service will build resilience in CYP by working with them to develop coping strategies and solutions that will enable them to improve their own health and wellbeing. We will also provide advice and guidance to parents/families/carers and professionals to provide a holistic response to supporting CYP and creating a network around them to empower and enable positive change.

The objectives of the With YOUth Digital Intervention Service are to:

• Promote resilience and strategies that encourage coping and self-management for CYP, enabling a reduction in referrals to more specialist provision.
• Increase the number of CYP who access evidence-based mental health interventions.
• Ensure more CYP in Hertfordshire have improved awareness and knowledge about emotional wellbeing and mental health.
• Develop an early intervention pathway for children and young people to enable individuals to get timely, responsive support aligned to their needs.
• Reduce waiting times for CYP MHS by providing a timely and effective early help service.
• Help parents and carers to better support their CYP through access to relevant, clear and accessible information about mental health and emotional wellbeing.
• Provide a safe and secure online environment for CYP.
• Reduce the number of CYP experiencing a relapse in their mental health.
• Contribute to the de-stigmatisation of mental health and emotional wellbeing.

MINT hubs are at the forefront of a new and exciting system of integrated mental health support set up across England by the NHS.

We’re looking to recruit  new recovery navigator roles to be that vital first contact for clients concerned about their mental health and wellbeing.

The recovery navigator role involves:

• Building trusting and collaborative relationships with clients - demonstrating hope and courage – to help maximise their independence; providing advocacy when needed

• Completing individual assessments via initial support conversations to inform clients’ recovery plan and direction of support
• Supporting clients to use self-management tools such as a Wellness Recovery Action Plan
• Being trained to use a range of skilled interventions and approaches, such as motivational interviewing, active listening and solution-focused support
• Helping clients navigate the system to find the support they need via voluntary sector organisations or referrals to statutory services like drug and alcohol support

The Brent Centre for Young People is looking for an experienced, dynamic person to join its Clinical Administration Team.

The Brent Centre for Young People is a charity based in North West London (Kilburn) that provides psychotherapeutic treatments to young people aged 11-25 years, who suffer with emotional difficulties and have mental health needs. The Centre has an international reputation and delivers world-leading evidence-based practices to young people across North West London. On average, the Centre helps over 700 young people per year through its In-house and Outreach Services.

We are looking for an experienced clinical administrator with strong people and communication skills to help run our clinical services.

This post is an exciting opportunity to be part both of supporting the growth of this service and supporting clinical administration at the Brent Centre within an existing small team. You will be required to also provide administrative and secretarial support to the Private Service, it’s clinicians, clientele and management.

The suitable candidate will have at least two years’ experience of clinical and/or general administration and reception duties. This post will suit a confident, reliable individual with strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.

You will be expected to be confident in IT skills (including the use of Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level) and apply them to recording data accurately on a daily basis on our client database.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates a high level of professionalism, can work to regular deadlines, can problem solve when faced with difficult situations, adheres to confidentiality and can communicate professionally, politely and effectively with young patients, their families, our clinical and non-clinical staff team and our external contacts, such as GPs.

The post requires sensitivity to the needs of young people with emotional difficulties and the nature of therapeutic work and their families. Experience with young people or with mental health is advantageous.

You will be expected to work a range of shifts between 9.30am to 6pm, 10.30am to 7pm and 11.30am to 8pm, to be agreed.

We are looking for self-employed, qualified and registered therapists to provide time-limited therapy sessions to adults in Gaddum’s NHS Talking Therapies, for anxiety and depression, service (formerly known as IAPT). In addition to a core qualification in counselling, you will ideally hold a qualification to deliver a NICE approved therapy, such as: Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (CfD), Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Pyschotherapy (IPT) or High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (HiCBT) and have experience providing therapy to adults with common mental health difficulties, like anxiety or depression.

Successful applicants must be willing to commit to between 4 and 12 client sessions per week between 9am and 5pm (some evening sessions may be available dependent on availability of safeguarding support cover) Monday to Friday delivering face-to-face, telephone and/or online therapy sessions which may be held at any GP, community venue across the area of Manchester and/or from home.

You must also be willing to take part in regular case management supervision and attend online, internal and external training courses as/when necessary.

Whilst your main role will be delivering therapy sessions, you may also be required to carry out occasional initial assessments with clients, such as when you have appointment cancellations.

• Provide a timely response to safeguarding and risk issues that arise, in line with Gaddum’s safeguarding procedures.
• Work to Gaddum’s policies and procedures, specifically Health, Safety, and Risk Management, Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, Confidentiality, and Information Governance.
• Adhere to specific venue procedures where you may be based.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice.

Contractor Agreement

Any additional work undertaken, including attending management supervision, team meetings or agreed relevant training will be paid at the hourly rate.
Sessional workers will invoice Gaddum monthly for their services.

A full induction will be provided as well as ongoing support from the Service Manager, administrator and Designated Safeguarding Leads.

Sessional workers are wholly responsible for their own Income Tax and National Insurance payments and will not be entitled to sickness or holiday pay or eligible for Gaddum’s pension scheme.

Sessional workers are not reimbursed for travel expenses or external clinical supervision relating to undertaking these services for Gaddum.

Professional Requirements
• Therapy qualification(s) stating when and where completed training, minimum must be a level 4 Diploma in counselling or NHS Talking Therapies, for anxiety and depression qualification.
• Registered with a relevant professional body.
• Ideally qualified to deliver National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) approved NHS Talking Therapies evidence-based psychological therapies, such as:
