Arthritis Action is the UK charity giving hands-on, practical help to improve the quality of life of people affected by arthritis. They support people living with musculoskeletal conditions through healthy eating advice, mental health resources, pain management techniques, Online Groups, employment support, and exercise advice and resources.

This is a part-time role, 4 days a week (30 hours per week). This role is hybrid, with travel to the London based office two days a week (Monday and Wednesday). The salary range for this role is £45,000-£50,000 pro rata. 

The Finance Manager & Company Secretary role is a dual role where you will ensure efficient and effective planning and management of the charity’s finances and take charge of secretarial duties. Within this role, you will develop and maintain accounting systems, control and records, while ensuring the charity is compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements. The postholder will ensure appropriate financial policy and procedures are in place, to deliver effective financial management and decision making. You will produce management accounts, oversee financial reporting and assist with legacy administration. You will manage relationships with a variety of external financial advisors and insurers.

You will play a key role managing the charity’s secretarial duties. These responsibilities include submitting information to Companies House and the Charity Commission. You will work closely with the Executive Management team, maintaining legal and financial documents, while ensuring they are filed securely, providing regular information/documentation. You will attend Board and committee meetings, ensure processes and regulations are followed and take minutes in these meetings.

To be considered for this role, you will have a professional accountancy qualification – ACCA, ACA or equivalent. You will have demonstrable experience overseeing preparation of statutory, management accounts and audit processes. You will have experience of charity accounting, reporting and legacy administration. You will have experience using accounting software and Microsoft Office. You will also have the ability to explain financial processes to non-finance staff.

You will have experience working in corporate governance and the ability to handle confidential information. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to maintain relationships with Board members and internal and external stakeholders. You will have strong negotiation skills. The postholder will have excellent organisation and administrative skills. You will enjoy working collaboratively and be able to work on your own initiative.

Purpose of the role 

The purpose of this role is to lead our finance and operations functions and support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to implement management systems to efficiently run the business and achieve strategic objectives agreed by Global Black Thrive Board of Directors.  This includes governance, finance, human resources, IT, legal, health and safety, and facilities management. 

This role is strategic as well as multi-faceted and hands-on and will work collaboratively as part of Global Black Thrive’s Senior Leadership Team to

• Develop robust approaches to finance and operations and provide practical support for Black Thrive teams to manage their programmes and projects; and 

• Support staff to take on delegated responsibility for finance, HR and operations and to develop their skills and knowledge base. 

• Develop a Fundraising Strategy through creating comprehensive fundraising plans tailored to the organisation's needs and goals. 

Duties and responsibilities 

1. Support the CEO to manage the organisation and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including finance, HR, health and safety, data protection, and deadlines for annual returns to Companies House, the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies, and HMRC.
2. Put in place governance and management systems to support the efficient operation of the business, and the achievement of strategic objectives and milestones agreed by the Global Black Thrive Board of Directors. 
3. Support in the development of Black Thrive’s internal Learning and development infrastructure, particularly with the Learning Week.
4. Lead on strategic reviews of organisational policies and procedures and work with the CEO and colleagues to review, update and operationalise policies and procedures.
5. Line manage Finance Officer and lead finance functions, including working with managers to prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring that there are appropriate financial controls and operational arrangements in place (including for outgoing and incoming invoices and grants), liaising with external accounting and payroll providers and training staff as required.
6. Line mange the HR and Admin Manager and support with updating policies, rolling out strategic changes and communicating these companywide.
7. Provide timely and accurate strategic financial management information to enable the Board of Directors, CEO and managers to have effective oversight and make strategic short-term and long-term decisions.
8. Work with others in the organisation and support the Fundraising Strategy. This will also include strategies for creating our own independent funds that are not linked to an external funder.
9. Support the CEO to fulfil their role as Designated Lead Officer for safeguarding, including updating the safeguarding policy, ensuring that it is given effect and maintaining a robust system of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and training for staff, associates, consultants and volunteers.
10. Ensure the provision of effective day-to-day administration of HR functions, including induction, training, learning week organisation and appraisal systems
11. Ensure effective management of premises, facilities, and equipment, including maintenance of an asset register.
12. Stay up to date with trends and best practices in governance, finance and operations relevant to Global Black Thrive’s mission.
13. Work with Global Black Thrive Directors to resolve disputes or disagreements that negatively impact on the achievement of objectives.
14. Ensure compliance with legislation and policies relevant to the job role, including equality, safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and financial probity.
15. Produce and deliver presentations, reports and other material relevant to the role.

The Data Stewardship Team is the backbone of our donations handling process, working seamlessly with internal teams and external partners to maximise our charitable impact. Key duties and responsibilities

Manage and support accurate banking, thanking, and reconciliation of Mind's fundraising income, ensuring supporters feel valued and appreciated.

Work closely with internal stakeholders such as Supporter Care, Data and Analytics, and the wider Fundraising Directorate to ensure data quality and seamless integration, driving efficiency and creating seamless supporter experiences, supporting our Engaging Minds strategic pillar.

Assess and quality check team accuracy across all tasks to agreed service level standards, ensuring all income is processed, accounted for, and reconciled.

Assist the Data Stewardship Senior Officers and Manager in implementing improvement processes to ensure excellent service delivery.

Oversee Gift Aid processes, ensuring declarations are processed accurately and eligible income is captured and maximised.

Ensure all donation-processes are documented, understood, and reviewed regularly, maintaining accuracy and compliance with Mind's data protection policy.

Lead by example in efficiency and accuracy, support monthly reconciliation tasks, and deputise on behalf of Senior Data Stewards when needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are hiring a Resettlement Mentor, who will be responsible for offering support for residents with complex needs, who are ready to move on and live independently. You will offer a range of frontline care and support within the service, to support those who require accommodation and community-based support. We assist those facing challenges such as mental illness, substance misuse, homelessness, and offending backgrounds, helping them overcome barriers in their lives. Our goal is to tackle inequalities in access to health, employment, training, and social care.

You will support residents/participants in various ways including encouraging those moving into suitable accommodation, creating personalised support plans which meet their needs and objectives. You will also participate in and encourage residents/participants to participate in events, projects, and outreach including clinics for resident move on's within our clusters, and work flexibly with weekly visits to multiple hubs. Part of this role will also involve completing safeguarding and other referrals from Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) where this role is based, and working closely with the team of Peer Mentors and Support teams. 

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, some activities and responsibilities may fall outside these hours.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support residents/participants to achieve their desired goals/outcomes in various ways especially around encouraging those moving on into suitable accommodation this can include but is not limited to the contribution and development of support plans, risk assessments, reviews, case meetings.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Ensure all residents/participants understand their rights and responsibilities, and have access to the right tools, resources, and networks to support them in achieving their goals.
• Develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running and development of various clinics for resident move on’s within our clusters and includes attending various projects and internal  activities and events.
• Empower residents/participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
• Provide advice, information, guidance, and life skills training to residents/participants as required.
• Carry out strengths-based assessments of need and risk and deliver holistic support and risk management plans, enabling residents/participants to achieve their aspirations and keep themselves safe.

We are looking for a Giggle Doctor Programme Administrator to join our busy programme team, to support the day-to-day operations of our Giggle Doctor programme for hospitals.

This is a part-time, one-year contract to support the running of the Giggle Doctor programme while a member of the team is on maternity leave. We are flexible as to which days are worked, providing that the post-holder has a fixed working pattern over a minimum of 3 days per week. This post requires work from the office as well as some work from home. We will provide training to the successful candidate on how to fulfil the key tasks of the role.

Job Description

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Administration

· Act as first point of call for artists regarding their visits to hospitals, overseeing sickness, cover and changes to their schedules

· Support artists with hospital administration and contracts

· Keep artists updated with changes in Theodora Children’s Charity’s policies

· Process changes to the Giggle Doctor schedule on our internal systems

· Liaise with hospitals and keep them up to date with information about their programme of Giggle Doctor visits

· Set up meetings with hospitals, artists and Theodora Foundation colleagues as required

· Book long-distance travel and hotels for artists for hospital visits and training events when required

· Support the Finance Manager and Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with collecting and filing timesheets, invoices and receipts for payment

Training and Events

· Support the Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with events, including booking rooms, resources and catering

· Attend training events for Giggle Doctors, setting up and packing down as needed

Impact and Programme Monitoring

· Support the Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with monitoring Trainee and Junior Giggle Doctor’s progress and keeping records of their observation notes

· Support the Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with data capture and record keeping

· Take minutes and record actions during Programme Team meetings, Theodora Foundation meetings and office team meetings from time to time

• Utilise the charity’s CRM database to keep all records up to date and effectively progress supporter development.

· Act as Deputy Safeguarding Lead and follow safeguarding processes for recording safeguarding incidents in the Designated Safeguarding Lead’s absence.

2makeit helps rehabilitate prisoners and ex-prisoners by offering them creative expression through programmes using music and the arts, mentoring, advice and guidance.

This part-time, maternity cover role co-ordinating the growth of 2makeit’s work supporting the rehabilitation of offenders in the community is home-based with travel around London and the South East and involves:

· Liaison with prisons, probation and other agencies

· Responsibility for a small caseload of service users

· Maintenance of a robust record-keeping and evaluation system

· Management and development of projects in the community.

The service aims to improve outcomes across the following key areas of women’s lives: access to support and services, health and safety, economic wellbeing, opportunities to enjoy and achieve.

About the Role

 The work is an assertive outreach caseworker role; an Advocate will be responsible for supporting 5 women in their assigned borough. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and VAWG and a strong understanding of how this can make it difficult for women to engage with support. You will have worked with people experiencing various aspects of severe and multiple disadvantage: homelessness, substance use, mental health issues, insecure immigration status, prostitution, offending history and children taken into care.

• Demonstrable experience of working with people affected by VAWG
• Experience of risk assessment, risk management, and safety planning with victim/survivors including those at high risk

Step-Out Mentoring is an early intervention mentoring organisation that provides support for children and young people in the heart of South London through outdoor based 1:1 mentoring and group workshops. As the Mentoring Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the work of supporting young people in the community. Through recruiting and training local volunteers to be Youth Mentors and matching them to young people referred to the program. Supporting 1:1 and group sessions with a particular focus on delivering outdoor based, fun, and engaging sessions. This role is specifically to support the young women and girls on the programme.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of up to 20 active 1:1 mentee / mentor relationships.
• Building appropriate relationships with, and supporting YP through 1:1 and group mentoring
• Supporting girls through focused workshops and group activities. Developing a curiculum of suport for them.
• Create pathways for inspiring YP to engage in positive volunteering opportunities.
• Managing referrals from other organisations and being involved in the support systems in place for those young people.
• To co-ordinate and train a team of volunteer mentors who will provide support to young people on a weekly basis. Specifically female mentors.
• To ensure the volunteer mentors support young people to access services and develop skills and support them in making choices which will help them improve their physical, psychological and social well-being.
• To ensure safeguarding and child protection processes are in place and adhered to at all times.
• To work with community organisations and statutory agencies to create referral and access pathways into and out of the mentoring project and to promote the project as widely aspossible.
• Plan, organise and manage the 3 residential trips a year, in collaboration with other staff.
• Organise day trip activities in partnership with other staff
