This is an exciting opportunity to join Project Indigo, an LGBTQIA+ youth project run out of Off Centre at Family Action that fosters a safe space and sense of community amongst LGBTQIA+ young people in Hackney.  We support young people aged 16 to 25 through offering them a weekly facilitated social space and 1-to-1 support and advice sessions.  Having run for almost a decade, Project Indigo is well known in Hackney, and works alongside local LGBTQIA+ projects, as well as mental health and youth services.  Project Indigo maintains a youth-led and person-centred approach, with this role being developed in consultation with our members to address the barriers they face in accessing sensitive therapeutic support.

We are seeking a motivated and empathetic counsellor/psychotherapist to offer therapeutic support to members of Project Indigo, our LGBTQIA+ youth group.  The counsellor will make a positive impact and expand Project Indigo’s offer to include 1-to-1 counselling, including sessions up to 24 weeks and therapeutic drop-ins.

Off Centre is a service that provides a range of targeted mental health focused support services to young people aged 16 to 25 who registered with a City and Hackney GP.  These include: individual, counselling and psychotherapy, individual and group art psychotherapy, key-work support, out of hours drop-in service on Thursday evenings, targeted provision for children and young people of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage (ACH), and an Information and Advice provision.

Main Responsibilities:

· You will provide affirmative therapeutic support to our LGBTQIA+ young people who identify under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella or are exploring their sexual orientation or gender identity; including 1-to-1 therapeutic support, sessions up to 24 weeks and therapeutic drop-ins.

· You will enrich Project Indigo’s holistic offer by providing a safe, confidential and affirmative therapeutic space for our members; supporting young people with a range of difficult life and/or mental health issues, which may include bereavement, domestic violence, relationship difficulties, sexual abuse and trauma.

· You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of issues facing young LGBTQIA+ people, in particular trans and gender diverse people, and will have clinical experience working with this group.

· You will maintain an understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities, as well as intersectionality and the multiple oppressions faced by our diverse group members, in particular racialised, neurodivergent and/or trans and non-binary people.

· You will address the diverse needs of our young people by maintaining an intersectional and person-centred approach.

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):

· You are BACP /UKCP (or equivalent) registered with proven experience of working affirmatively with LGBTQIA+ young people in a clinical setting and/or evidence of in-depth knowledge of how to support LGBTQIA+ young people, in particular trans and gender diverse young people.

· You are empathetic with a good understanding of the social and political issues impacting LGBTQIA+ young people.

· You identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community in line with Project Indigo’s peer-led service model.*

· You have an understanding of risk management, with the ability to act in accordance with local and organisational safeguarding policies.

· You have the ability to organise workload, meet competing priorities and flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules.

· You have the ability to build positive relationships, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and teams.

Role Overview

Bright Futures UK is the first and only charity to support young people experiencing long term illness, back into education. Working with young people from the ages of 5-24 who have both long-term physical, chronic and mental health illnesses. We work to create different educational and social programmes of support, including Tutoring, Befriending and Career Mentoring programmes. We work with some of the biggest hospital trusts not only in London but in the UK, including UCLH, Great Ormond Street.

THE JOB:

Join us as a Programme Coordinator and become an integral part of our mission to transform the lives of young people suffering from illness in education. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills in the charity sector while contributing to various essential areas of our programme delivery, such as program administration, programme development, assistance with fundraising, partnerships and growth and volunteer coordination. You'll receive support and guidance as you grow in these responsibilities. We're seeking a dedicated individual who embodies organisation, proactivity, and a compassionate demeanor. Your role will be instrumental in helping Bright Futures UK develop and expand into a nationwide charity. The programmes coordinator is a newly created role in the team, and will work closely with the whole programmes team to provide effective programme administrative support. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to swiftly assess and manage referrals which are sent to Bright Futures UK, ensuring no one falls through the cracks and every individual gets the support they need.
• Managing matching administration between young people and volunteers to set them up in their programmes.
• Managing introductions between young people and their volunteers, helping to break the ice and be a friendly face for both parties.
• Support ongoing relationships between volunteers and young people by maintaining frequent communication and gathering feedback ensuring that each program runs productively and positively.
• Assisting where needed on development projects and being creative with resource expansion.
• Helping to support the Workshop Manager where needed in the creation and development of in hospital workshops.
• Monitor and support the creation of new volunteer adverts as needed.

Help on Your Doorstep, is a pioneering charity working in the London Borough of Islington to improve the health and wellbeing of people and the communities that they live in. Help on Your Doorstep’s Social Prescribing service supports patients referred by GP practices in the North and Central areas of Islington. The service benefits from working closely with the Connect service and our access to over 150 referral partners covering a wide range of needs and aspirations. Social Prescribing is a fast paced, patient focused environment where patients referred are supported to link into services and activities which will improve their health and wellbeing.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about working towards a fairer society and who would relish the challenge of supporting people to overcome the personal and social barriers that stand in their way. The ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and some experience of providing personalised support to a varied caseload.

As a member of a six strong team of Social Prescribing team you will enjoy collaborating with internal colleagues and external partners in primary care and community settings to continuously improve the resident outcomes

Alongside your people skills, you will have the ability to take a methodical and organised approach to managing a caseload and completing related administrative tasks.

Purpose of the Job
The Dad Matters coordinators deliver a range of universal and targeted interventions aimed at male parents in the First 1001 Days. They support dads and other male carers with attachment and bonding, mental health and access to service. They also work with professionals and perinatal services to ensure dads and male carers are engaged, supported and heard within clinical pathways.

The post holder will:

• Build on the Home-Start Haringey, Hackney and Waltham Forest foundation of peer support by engaging and supporting dads in one to one and group situations.
• Ensure that parent – infant relationships are a thread through every relationship and conversation with dads.
• Raise awareness of the risks of poor mental health for fathers and their families during the perinatal period
• Raise awareness of the impact on fathers of caring for a partner affected by perinatal mental health issues 
• Develop the Dad Matters volunteer role
• Develop close links with other health and voluntary agencies
• Facilitate regular consultation with fathers through outreach and focus groups

Main Responsibilities

Support to Dads

The post holder will provide individual and group support to dads during the perinatal period.  This will involve the following: 

• Meeting dads at ante-natal clinics
• Facilitating or co-facilitating ante-natal Dad Chats in person and online
• Supporting the developments of support offered to dads with children on NICU and those with partners in receipt of care from Perinatal Mental Health teams, Adult Mental Health, IAPT and Parent Infant Mental Health teams
• Signposting and supporting access to other services as appropriate
• Undertake designated responsibilities to safeguard and promote children’s welfare
• Ensure equality of opportunity, fairness and diversity in all aspects of work
• Facilitate regular consultation with fathers in order to ensure that all resources are targeted appropriately

We are looking for a Head of Business Development leading on Trusts & Foundations, to help us achieve this. 

As a critical role in YoungMinds, the Head of Business Development will ensure the effective strategic leadership of the Business Development Unit team who focus on building positive relationships with some of our most significant financial supporters, across trusts, foundations and statutory funding, bids, and contracts. You will work to drive growth through achieving long-term and high value relationships as well as identifying suitable targets for future partnerships.

This role is vital in implementing our vision to create a step change in our fundraising, where effective fundraising builds relationships and becomes an essential part of achieving our charitable objectives, not just funding them. Our role is not ‘simply’ to generate income, but to build value-driven relationships and cause-related fundraising opportunities.

As a skilled people manager, you will help lead and inspire a brilliant, growing team, enabling them to build on recent successes and continue to develop their talents. Ultimately, you will understand what it takes to ensure the development, oversight, and delivery of the Business Development Unit team strategy.

This role is fixed term contract for 12 months covering maternity leave. It is also a job share and as such is a part-time post at 21 hours per week.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• experience of using strategic planning to generate long-term, sustainable income from trusts and foundations
• experience of developing compelling proposals built around restricted and unrestricted propositions that have generated large (at least six-figure) multi-year gifts.
• experience of managing people and leading a team through a period of growth
• ability to develop and maintain relationships with a range of audiences including internal and external stakeholders
• excellent writing skills with the ability to understand and translate complex services and work into a compelling case for support

Black Thrive Global evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, which was established in 2016 to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people in Lambeth. Purpose of the role

We are looking for a creative, organised, and disciplined person to take on a key role within our rapidly expanding organisation. As the Communications and Digital Officer, you will be central in the implementation of Black Thrive Global’s communications strategy. You will help to support the creation of a compelling and consistent narrative about the work that Black Thrive Global does across all our communication channels. You will be integral in helping to disseminate key messaging for core projects and work-streams working closely with our internal teams and external partners. Black Thrive Global’s communication approach aims to be both reactive and proactive, and you will be expected to be well informed about events and trends in the media and public arena.

Duties and responsibilities

1.  Produce compelling and engaging content for internal and external blog posts, newsletters, and digital content across our communication channels.
2. Produce in-house design for publications and promotional materials and social media assets as required.
3. Lead on delivery and scheduling of the Communications Calendar, this will include horizon scanning of the news agenda as well as regular yearly campaigns i.e., Disability Week, Refugee Month, International Day of the Girl, LGBTQIA+ etc.
4. Deliver and implement our social media strategy across our various platforms.
5. Lead on managing and developing social media channels to engage and grow our online audience.
6. Maintain and update our website and digital content.
7. Support the Communications Manager and internal teams with producing reactive media and digital outputs.
8. Support with PR and media relations tasks, including monitoring coverage, building up journalist databases and drafting statements and releases.
9. Support internal teams with event coordination and marketing campaigning.
10. Collecting and analysing data and information of communications activity to assess our impact and opportunities for brand growth.
11. Support the Communications Manager with the quarterly Directors’ Communications Report.
12. Work with freelancers and volunteers as required.
13. Spend up to 10% of time supporting corporate business such as strategy and administration.

The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for implementing operational initiatives, working creatively to enhance efficiency and identify new opportunities. Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Coordinator will be a key member of Black Minds Matter UK’s team.

Key responsibilities and tasks of role:

• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Handling multiple email inboxes and correspondence.
• Scheduling meetings, appointments, and coordinating calendars across the departments.
• Managing files, records, and documentation for the operations team.
• Preparation of documentation within the HR scope, such as appraisals.

Job Purpose: 

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the continuous development and delivery of a specialist service working in partnership with Central Northwest London NHS Foundation Trust, providing enhanced support to women with mental and physical health needs preparing to leave prison and resettle back in to the community. This project takes a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to support and works together with partner agencies to provide a bridge from prison to the community.

This post provides operational management of this project across the three women’s prisons in Surrey – HMP Bronzefield, HMP Send and HMP Downview and a community service delivery area of London and the South-East of England, ensuring quality standards are consistently met, staff are effectively managed, partnerships are maintained and contract KPI’s are delivered.
