We’re at the start of a new 5-year journey to create space for people who stammer – so we’re building our team. This is a new role at STAMMA, so there is space to shape, create and shape volunteering at the start of our new strategy. Now couldn’t be a better time to join.
We're embarking on a new strategy, fuelled by the National Lottery, which includes significantly expanding our volunteer operations which will be headed up with this new post. We've already a team of over 30 brilliant volunteers. Our services are central to what we do - so you'll be at the very heart of it all. Recruiting and supporting volunteers across the helpline, training and advocacy services, including supporting our amazing group leaders around the country.
Essential Skills & Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience of volunteer management. We’re particularly looking for experience with online recruitment and management of volunteers.
- Experience of establishing new volunteering and training systems, so you can help us scale up operations.
- An understanding of best practice and the regulations around volunteering.
- Thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and issues. The postholder will be the safeguarding lead in this role.
- Experience of presenting to groups of people and facilitating discussion and initiatives and coaching individuals.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Experience of working within voluntary sector.
Desirable
- Experience of working with local groups and/or working with a membership organisation.
- Experience of organising volunteer events.

RESPONSIBILITIES
We expect to recruit from our members and from the community of those who stammer or those who support people who stammer (speech & language therapists, family and friends).
- Recruit and induct new volunteers to support our services, working with the Services Director and the Training & Outreach Lead.
- Work with the service managers to review training and update training modules.
- Ensure there is appropriate training, support, supervision and acknowledgement for volunteers and ensure processes comply with the charity’s values
- Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
- Support and recruit volunteer community leaders for our groups and networks; work with them to aim for consistent quality across the groups experience and develop an online training programme for leaders. Longer term, put a funding case together to support a training weekend for community leaders.
- Keep records on which community groups are active and identify areas of need and feedback mechanisms.
- Work with Content & Communications Lead to produce regular mailings and volunteer recruitment campaigns.
- Keep up to date with legislation, best practice and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes.
- Maintain the database of volunteers and ensure all volunteers are registered members.
- Manage budgets and resources, including the reimbursement of volunteer expenses.
PLEASE NOTE
This is a hybrid role, and all staff are expected to attend team meetings, held in London, every 6-8 weeks.
Candidates need to be based within mainland UK as they will be expected to attend in-person staff meetings and visit local groups.

About the Training and Consultancy team
NCVO is an established and trusted training provider to over 6,000 people each year from across the charity sector and beyond.
We run our training services as a social business, offering cost effective, high-quality learning. Our wide-ranging well-respected portfolio of training aims to give the people working or volunteering for a charity what they need to thrive in their role. Our training also generates significant income for NCVO, playing a vital role in our financial sustainability and allowing us to achieve our mission.
Our training programme has three key strands; open (delivered live online), in-house (delivered online and/or face to face with an organisation on a specific theme) and eLearning. With support and oversight from the Training and Development Manager this role is responsible for the smooth running of the second of these three areas.

Westway Trust is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Manager -Estate Development – to support on planning and construction and the future development of the Estate. You will also be responsible for capital projects, including tendering, management of contract managers, development teams, architects, engineers and contractors.
You will be a qualified and knowledgeable senior manager with strong and varied experience of operating within the property development, capital project management or other related field.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintain and / or develop an Estate Plan for the organisation
- Oversee larger refurbishments and capital projects on the Estate in all aspects including:
- Tendering and selection for architects, contractors, suppliers, engineers and other professional advisors as required
- Acting as the organisations lead for legal compliance purposes
- Where agreed act as the Principal Designer (the client) on behalf of the Trust in line with legislative requirements (2022 Building Regulations).
- Manage project managers brought in to manage particular capital projects
- Oversee developments through pre-planning and planning – liaising with relevant statutory, industry and other bodies
- Ensure appropriate community consultation, working with our Community Engagement staff.

Job overview
The Digital and Content Manager is responsible for the development and execution of BeyondAutism’s digital strategy, ensuring all online content and campaigns support the organisation’s strategic goals. The role owns and manages all digital platforms, including the website, email marketing, paid advertising, and social media (Bluesky, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), ensuring content is engaging, optimised, and aligned with BeyondAutism’s brand identity. This role works closely with the Outreach and Revenue Marketing Manager (ORMM) to ensure digital content and campaigns are effectively aligned with lead generation, outreach, and revenue-driving activities. Together, they will develop, execute, and optimise digital strategies that drive MQL to SQL conversion, audience engagement, and brand awareness.

About the role
Channel ownership and development
- Develop and execute a digital and content strategy that aligns with BeyondAutism’s overall marketing objectives.
- Actively manage and grow the website, social channels (Bluesky, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), and email database, ensuring all content and contact lists are up to date.
- Own the technical maintenance and development of BeyondAutism websites (WordPress), working with external developers when required.
- Ensure all digital activity is integrated and aligned, supporting schools, outreach, fundraising, and admissions.
- Stay up to date with platform algorithms, trends, and best practices to maximise engagement on both paid and organic content.
Website and SEO management
- Manage the BeyondAutism websites, ensuring they remain compliant, up to date, user-friendly, and optimised for conversions.
- Apply SEO best practices (both technical and onsite SEO) to improve website visibility and search rankings.
- Develop and update landing pages to support marketing campaigns and lead generation.
- Liaise with external agencies as needed to enhance website functionality.
Social media and digital engagement
- Develop and implement a content plan for Bluesky, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Ensure consistency in tone of voice, brand messaging, and content quality across all digital platforms.
- Actively monitor, engage with, and grow BeyondAutism’s online community. Track and analyse engagement metrics to refine social media strategy.
Email marketing and CRM integration
- Plan, create, and send email marketing campaigns via Mailchimp and Raiser’s Edge.
- Develop segmented audience lists to deliver personalised, high-impact content.
- Set up automated email sequences to nurture leads and encourage engagement.
- Track and optimise email performance (open rates, CTR, conversion rates).
- Ensure email and digital activities integrate with Raiser’s Edge for CRM tracking and reporting.
Paid advertising and Google Ad Grants
- Manage Google Ad Grants, ensuring compliance and maximisation of the allocated budget.
- Set up, manage, and optimise PPC campaigns across Google Ads and social media platforms.
- Continuously track performance and adjust campaigns to improve cost-per-click (CPC) and ROI.
Reporting and analytics
- Establish KPIs for each digital channel in agreement with the Head of Marketing & Communications.
- Monitor website, email, social media, and PPC analytics, converting findings into actionable insights.
- Provide monthly performance reports, assessing the return on investment (ROI) for campaigns.
Marketing and outreach campaigns
- In consultation with ORMM, lead on digital marketing campaigns to drive leads, registrations, and awareness.
- Implement digital aspects of the lead generation strategy, including Lunch & Learn webinars.
- Consider the customer journey and experience in all digital marketing activity.
- Support fundraising and outreach teams in promoting campaigns through digital channels.
- Ensure that all digital marketing campaigns align with BeyondAutism’s wider strategic objectives.
Team and stakeholder collaboration
- Work across the organisation to ensure all digital and content needs are met and incorporated into the overall strategy.
- Act as a subject matter expert for digital marketing tools and software, upskilling the wider team.
- Work closely with external agencies, designers, and developers as needed.
- Line manage the Marketing & Communications Officer, ensuring alignment with digital priorities.
