Morgan Hunt is recruiting for a Female Housing Support Worker, to join the a service in Rochdale on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role, with the potential of being permanent for the right candidate.

The role

• To be involved with admission and selection of service users, in conjunction with the Project Leader.
• To encourage and assist service users, via support plans, to develop themselves and their independence within the service or by moving on.
• To work in consultation with other members of the staff team and to liaise with the staff of other projects.
• To ensure the upkeep and the security of the building and to take responsibility for any cash and equipment under your control.
• To carry out regular key-working sessions with service users at the agreed period, to meet their individual needs and keep comprehensive records of all contacts made.
• To issue warnings and take appropriate action to promote the health, safety and welfare of all service users in line with policies and procedures.
• Support individuals in a way that is trauma informed and solution focused and promotes resilience.
• The efficient keeping of appropriate records including case notes, support plans, financial and administrative records.
• To support and assist service users in participation and consultation processes.
• Foster and maintain positive relations with volunteers, local community and other voluntary and statutory organisations and external agencies and with other services.
• To ensure compliance with the Group's Health and Safety policies.

The candidate

• Able to assess need and to plan and deliver effective, stimulating and dynamic support.
• Able to develop service user, volunteer and community involvement and work in an enabling way including facilitating group activities.

The Role

In this role, you will manage key donor relationships, co-ordinate mailings and plan supporter events. You will work closely with the Communications team to develop and implement creative strategies that inspire generous support through digital and social media channels. Your responsibilities will also include developing a new legacy fundraising stream and ensuring all supporter data is managed in compliance with data protection legislation.

With hands-on experience in charity fundraising and CRM database management, you will track and report financial performance against fundraising targets, collaborating with our Philanthropy and Fundraising teams to maximise giving opportunities. Spectra has recently created a new team of three fundraisers (including this post holder). We aim to increase levels of engagement, interest and financial support from trusts and foundations, major donors, and individual giving, including increasing the level of unrestricted funding.

The Fundraising Executive role and purpose is to:

• Develop and implement a ‘small trust’ plan. They will deliver compelling and impactful approaches to trusts and foundations for financial support. Responsible for smaller trust funding applications of under 10K per year.
• Develop a new individual giving programme, set and achieve targets, and provide a high standard of stewardship in these areas of work.
• Cross working to support the ‘Major Trusts and Foundations’ Fundraiser and the Fundraising manager as required.

This role is part of the FearFree Service which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse victims, perpetrators, and their children.

The Assessment and Early Interventions Team act as the gateway for all referrals to the Devon Service, and additionally provides a helpline service. Working within an experienced and established team, the Assessment and Early Interventions Advisor will:

- Triage referrals.

- Answer the helpline.

- Conduct risk assessments and offer immediate safety planning advice.

- Respond to safeguarding concerns.

- Signpost victims and professionals to other support agencies where appropriate.

- Offer specialist domestic abuse advice and support to professionals.

- Deliver educational and bespoke support sessions to medium risk victims of domestic abuse.

In addition, the role requires the building of effective relationships both internally within the Devon Team and externally, supporting a multi-agency approach.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Working within the agreed policies, principles, and codes of practice of FearFree, the post holder will:

Working with vulnerable people and risk management:

· Provide a victim focused service, with an understanding of the impact of trauma on vulnerable people.

· Demonstrate specialist knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse and how this may impact on the wider family unit.

· Provide advice, guidance and support to people who are victims of domestic abuse.

· Assess, manage, and review risks to service users, colleagues, and self, including the use of the DASH riskassessment tool and SOAG.

· Make safeguarding referrals where appropriate: including Children’s Social Care, Adult Social Care, Mental Health crisis teams and MARAC.

· Work directly with individuals or groups as agreed with the Team Manager.

· Safeguard the health and welfare of service users and their families.

· Respond to emergencies and crisis situations including supporting a service user to access a place of safety if appropriate.

· Work with service users sensitively to share information, particularly MARAC outcomes.

· Provide support on the helpline to victims of domestic abuse and other agencies.

· Assist, encourage and empower service users to make their own decisions and choices as appropriate.

Team working 

· Offer professional advice and support to multi-agency partners.

· Feedback to the Team Manager, Devon Service Manager, Head of Service and/or other Support Workers any information related to the service users support needs or risk issues, and progress on support tasks.

· Work effectively in partnership with multiple statutory and voluntary agencies to enhance service delivery, safety, and safeguarding.

· Contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro-active approach, including cover for other team members’ holiday and sickness.

· Work closely with other agencies, to network with, make referrals to and maintain good relationships with, and be able to disseminate information appropriately.

Administrative duties 

· Help provide a responsive support service with a high quality of customer care.

· Answer the telephone and take messages and referrals, act on messages and referrals, and provide a triage service for all referrals.

· Assist in the referral process and follow-up, contacting other agencies and helping to arrange appointments.

· Assist in the assessment and allocation of service users.

· Update written and computerised records with accurate clear information to deadline, including maintaining details of any special needs required by service users.

· Assist with monitoring and evaluation policies and procedures and producing reports.

Additional tasks and responsibilities: 

· Ensure personal safety for self, other staff, and service users at all times.

• Develop positive relationships with Trust & Foundation representatives and monitor supporter feedback, sharing appropriately with the Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Manager.
• Brief relevant staff about funders before funder meetings as appropriate.
• Meet regularly with operational teams and SMT to identify budgeted activities that can be packaged as projects and matched to the appropriate funders
• Manage the reporting process for existing and new grants
• Work with operational colleagues to collate the information required to support funded projects and programmes and provide feedback and evaluation to grant funders following successful bids.
• Co-ordinate regular Project Oversight Group meetings, chaired by the Finance Director, to ensure grant funded projects are on track and are reported in accordance with deadlines.

Administration Support Assistant
Salary: £17,850 for 3.5 days per week (FTE £25,500)

The Administrative Support Assistant will work with the Engagement Team for 1 day per week to ensure important ongoing administrative and business tasks and supporting the team to deliver face to face and digital events, engagement, communications and volunteer support.

The Administration Support Assistant will also work for Somerset Environmental Records Centre Team (SERC) for 2.5 days per week to support with the data flow process, managing data uploads and enquiries from customers.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Responsibility 1: Data Support

• Supporting SERC Manager and team with updating the SERC website, particularly regarding SWT event advertising.
• Monitoring of SERC email accounts and coming up with a system to coordinate the inboxes together and reduce our carbon emissions.
• Contributing to the SERC team’s production of protocols for the management of data, to ensure the integrity of data.
• Assisting the team in coming up with an online filing system and digitising paper records, particularly Local Wildlife Site files.
• Assisting with the timely and accurate flow of data into the species database. Moving casual and consultancy data submissions from emails into the data entry filing systems.
• Editing and manipulating Excel Spreadsheets of species records and entering them into Recorder and the Online Recording System.
• Extracting data from recorder and other systems where trained and assisting with programmes such as digitising Local Wildlife Site (LWS) site files and LWS reviews and the review and updating of the Somerset State of Nature report.
• Taking opportunities to develop own skills and those of others in the team (including volunteers) by work shadowing, attending events and other training courses.

Responsibility 2: Volunteer & Communications Support

Provide outstanding and consistent administrative support for Engagement Team colleagues by:

• Working closely with the Volunteering and Community Support Officer to support advertising, onboarding and general administration of volunteering and community activities.
• Monitoring and responding to the volunteer and event email enquiries - processing, recording and forwarding as required.
• Ensuring the volunteer pages on the website and social media are updated to show volunteer vacancies and volunteer role descriptions.
• Listing engagement events on the SWT website, Eventbrite?and quarterly newsletter
• Being responsible for bookings and procurements for events and training opportunities, both in person and online, when required (booking venues, reminders, refreshments, background tech etc)
