About the role
As Community Hub Co-ordinator, you’ll lead the launch and development of this exciting new space. You’ll manage the day-to-day running of the Hub, support and line-manage a small team (including staff with lived experience of learning disability or autism), and co-design a wide variety of services, events, and partnerships with our members and community.
You’ll also work with other local organisations and charities to expand the support on offer—exploring exciting ideas like social enterprises, creative groups, advice drop-ins or a community café. This is a hands-on role. Some days you’ll be welcoming people and helping with a session, other days you’ll be planning future activities, liaising with partners, or exploring funding ideas. No two days will be the same.

About You
You’re proactive, passionate, and organised. You love bringing people together, creating welcoming spaces, and making things happen.
You’ll have experience of managing community-facing services, working with diverse groups (ideally including people with learning disabilities or autistic people), and leading a team.
You’re happy rolling up your sleeves to get things done—and you’re confident developing new ideas, building partnerships, and planning activities. Being a car driver is a plus (but not essential), and some evening or weekend working may be required. We’re happy to talk about flexible working, part-time options and job shares.

About You
With strong computer literacy skills, including knowledge of CRM systems or other database packages, as well as proficiency in Microsoft packages, you’ll be familiar with data querying and data manipulation.
You’ll have previous experience of using Raisers Edge/ BBEC/ or equivalent CRM/ database software, and will have excellent communication skills, able to develop strong working relationships with the team and colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
It would be beneficial to have a background in fundraising or marketing, as it will help in understanding the broader context of our projects. Additionally, your strong customer service skills will ensure that stakeholders have a high-quality experience and feel valued.

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail.
We have a hybrid approach to the way we work. Our Senior Executive Team meet with our Senior Leadership Team twice a month on a Monday. These meetings are face to face. One is in central London and one is at our Hatfield office. In addition, you will be required to attend at least four face to face organisational All Staff Together days which are predominantly in Hatfield, one directorate meeting a month in Hatfield, as well as attending the Hatfield office with the rest of the HR team one day a week. One to one’s will be face to face with direct line reports and your line manager once a quarter.

The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The role
Are you looking for a new challenge? We are currently looking for a driven and self-motivated senior officer for our public health, inclusion and awareness team. This is an exciting time to join as we continue to grow. You will support the development and delivery of the public health, inclusion and awareness team’s work across the UK, which is to empower patients and the public to play a full role in managing their own risk of getting breast cancer, diagnosing breast cancer earlier and improving their quality of life after a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence.
Working closely with the public health, inclusion and awareness manager to deliver public health activities as identified in our strategy and team plans and work across the wider directorate and organisation.
Also supporting the delivery of activities to drive forward our equity, diversity and inclusion agenda to ensure we achieve the pledges, recommendations and actions set out in our plans and champion our commitment to celebrate diversity, challenge and address inequality, and help build an inclusive environment for all people affected by breast cancer.
About you
You'll be proactive, highly motivated and have experience in the development and delivery of public health and inclusion initiatives, campaigns and projects. An excellent communicator in building relationships at a local level with external organisations and groups including with those from under-represented communities.
You'll be confident in understanding and explaining equity, diversity and inclusion issues in our public health work clearly and will give presentations as required to community groups and organisations.
You'll also be experienced in monitoring and evaluation of public health activity, including gathering data, producing reports and analysing other statistical information as required.

We are recruiting for a part-time Community Engagement and Fundraising Officer. You will need enthusiasm, excellent networking and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with the local community, individuals and businesses. You will have past experience in raising funds and with your local knowledge, will have the ability to generate income from a range of sources across Epsom, Ewell, Banstead and North Mole Valley. Knowledge of Home-Start would be advantageous.
You will have good IT, evaluation and report writing skills. Excellent communication skills are essential. You will have the ability to handle confidential financial and other data. You should understand and be committed to the role of the voluntary sector, be able to work in a small team, demonstrating the ability to work flexibly.
Use of a car (expenses paid) is necessary. A basic disclosure and barring (DBS) check will be required.

Following a 3-month probation period, you will transition to a fixed-term contract. Upon successful completion of this term, you will be offered a permanent employment contract. A minimum salary of £39,695.24 gross (our salary base for people resident in the UK) will apply from the beginning of the probationary period. The salary base may change due to your previous experience related to the position, or your experience in animal advocacy (+3% for each year). In addition, the salary increases with your seniority in Open Cages according to the following model:
+ 7% – for every year worked at Open Cages during the first 5 years of work
+ 5% – for every year worked at Open Cages during the next 5 years of work
+ 3% – for every year worked at Open Cages during the next 5 years of work

About your role
We are a small and ambitious early-stage organisation with two full-time team members. Our current objective: to help the 1 billion chickens raised annually in the UK. By joining us as a campaigner who focuses on communications, you will work on the frontlines by shining a light on the hidden suffering of animals trapped on factory farms, and mobilising the public to take action. Your first task will be to help us convince the UK’s largest food businesses to improve their chicken welfare policies, primarily through crafting media stories and marketing campaigns that capture the hearts and minds of the public.
While this may sound challenging, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a historic change for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Someone has to pick up the fight, and we hope it will be You.

There may also be certain areas where you are stronger than others, and we are open to fitting the role around you. We are looking for a generalist rather than a specialist. - Take risks – negotiating in a high stakes meeting, attending a farming conference, organising a protest, taking hundreds of videos of a retailer’s chicken products for a BBC story (yes, we did this!) – in this role you will need to be comfortable with stepping out of your comfort zone.
- Conduct research – you will spend many hours online gathering information, working with investigators and lawyers, or delivering chicken products to a lab in Germany (we did this too).
- Create marketing content – you will produce graphics and videos for social media, and utilise marketing tools to reach millions of people.
- Work with the media – you will engage with journalists, write press releases, pitch stories and be animals’ voice on the radio and TV.
- Mobilise advocates – you will write emails to our supporters and motivate them to take action with us. You will also organise and run street actions like protests and stunts.
- Connect with diverse audiences – you will need to talk about the suffering of animals to very different groups of people that compose our society. To do that effectively, you will need to understand their perspective and be a good, empathetic communicator.
- Ask for support – you will help us fundraise to increase our impact.
