This role will support the Events Development Manager in the planning and delivery of online and digital events, as well as an expanded events programme that aligns with the RSPB’s strategic goals. The Senior Events Officer will play a critical role in operationally leading parts of this programme, deputising for the Events Development Manager, and using their expertise to execute the strategy.

What's the role about? 

The Senior Events Officer will be responsible for delivering multiple, simultaneous projects while managing diverse stakeholders and collaborating with teams across the RSPB, partner organisations and agencies.

A key area for this role will also be to curate, develop, and deliver innovative, high-quality events and experiences that resonate with target audiences and drive engagement. You will focus specifically on delivering events that reach and converts new audiences and help to retain members and courage lifetime value using innovative approaches and event delivery. You will oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including risk management, communication plans, and live event coordination (both in-person and virtual).

Operational Focus

• Prepare event briefs with key stakeholders to ensure that clear objectives and outcomes are set, monitored, and delivered.
• Produce, project management, and deliver events to an exceptionally high standard using project management tools and risk plans.
• Live manage events to ensure they run smoothly and achieve their outcomes.
• Attend and contribute to workshops and project meetings, ensuring that project needs are articulated and understood.

Strategic Impact

The Senior Events Officer will directly contribute to the RSPB’s mission by supporting the engagement of more diverse audiences, enhancing member value, and driving income generation. Your leadership in implementing the events programme ensures the organisation’s continued growth and ability to inspire action for nature.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience: 

• A degree or equivalent professional qualification in event management, marketing, or a related field, or demonstrable experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrable experience managing and leading large-scale events of over 1000 people, from concept through to implementation and evaluation
• Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of event marketing
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to write and produce engaging content, including copy writing, and in-person delivery to influence and represent the directorate and the organisation
• Expertise in working with tracking, measurement, and analytic tools to assess event success and deliver detailed event insight.
• Experience of delivering online events to over 500 attendees, including live polling, panel discussion and working with production companies
• Budget management of significant >£50k budgets

Experience:

• Ideally at least two years proven experience of delivering income growth in an event or community fundraising setting (preferably both)

• Proven knowledge of online fundraising tools and digital marketing 

Job specifics  

• Hours: Full time hours are 37.5 Monday to Friday
• Location: We are very flexible! Our hybrid working policy is a minimum of two days per month in our London Office office. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel to events and meet supporters that will involve some evening and weekend work.

About The Murray Parish Trust

Children with a serious illness are three times more likely to struggle with their mental health. Their childhoods are overshadowed by coming to terms with diagnosis, hospital stays, treatment, feeling different from friends or managing how their illness affects daily life. Many of them struggle with severe anxiety and depression, experiencing isolation and trauma during their journey. These children are at much higher risk of long-term mental health difficulties that are more complex and difficult to treat, on top of living with often complex medical needs.

Actors Jim Murray and Sarah Parish’s first daughter, Ella-Jayne, was born with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome in 2009 and spent half her short life in paediatric intensive care, Southampton Children’s Hospital. Ella-Jayne died, at home, just eight months old. After they recovered from the immediate horror, Jim and Sarah felt an overwhelming drive to help other children and families and founded The Murray Parish Trust in 2014. They were awarded MBE’s in the King’s New Years Honours 2025 for services to seriously ill children and their families.

Our charity delivers projects that support the mental health of seriously ill children and their families. We improve access to specialist, imaginative and empowering support, at the earliest possible moment, to prevent long-term mental health difficulties. We do this by delivering a vast range of projects in children’s hospitals, hospices and other health or community settings across the UK. These include drama, dance, art, nature and music therapy; bereavement and mortuary suites, distraction equipment that reduces anxiety, sanctuary and quiet rooms; sibling support; counselling and therapy rooms; and psychological support for children/family members.

The role - Head of Public Fundraising and Operations

This is an exciting new chapter for The Murray Parish Trust. Our new Head of Public Fundraising and Operations will work closely with the Board of Trustees and our Head of Philanthropy and Projects to scale our impact and expand reach nationwide. They will play a pivotal role in leading operations and shaping the charity’s future, as well as leading on growing income from community, corporate, individual fundraising, which have been identified as strategic fundraising priorities.

We anticipate time will be split roughly equally between leading public fundraising and operational management. There is some freelance support with marketing, corporate and community fundraising, and volunteer coordination, plus trustee support with events; there is scope to expand the team as income grows. This role will support their work as well as personally deliver public fundraising activity, taking sole responsibility for individual giving and legacies.

This is a job of variety, innovation and opportunity. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser, perhaps an aspiring charity CEO, who is looking to develop skills and knowledge in charity management and strategy. This is a job for someone who is ambitious, collaborative, proactive and who has a genuine passion for championing the mental health of seriously ill children and their families.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising: Work alongside with the Head of Philanthropy and Projects to implement the fundraising strategy, including:

• Delivery of the specific fundraising activity delegated to this role to grow income year on year (individuals, community, corporate, legacies, events), supported by the work of freelancers.
• Strategic oversight of all public fundraising including monitoring, evaluating and reporting to the Board.
• Ensure excellence in donor stewardship that helps retain, grow and diversify support from existing donors.
• Maintain a proactive focus on donor acquisition, across the UK, prioritising areas where we have projects.
• Effectively utilise the CRM to proactively and accurately capture donor information and consents.

• Coordinate and manage policy, procedure, risk management and wider charity administration.

About The Felix Project
The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity. Started in 2016, its vision is a London where good food is never wasted, and no one goes hungry. In 2024 our workforce of over 200 staff and 13,000 volunteers collected and distributed the equivalent of 38 million meals to Londoners in need. This is done through a network of 1,200 community organisations and schools who are working on the frontline to feed people who are experiencing hunger and cannot afford to regularly buy the food they need. The Felix Project works with hundreds of suppliers from across the food industry, including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms and restaurants to rescue high quality surplus food, that cannot be sold and would otherwise go to waste. 

In London, one in for working families regularly struggle to afford to feed their children, equating to an estimated 325,000 families across the capital. The cost of food has increased by 30% in the past three years and one in eight working families have less than £3 a day for food, after paying their bills. About 20% of working families have been forced to access a food support service for the first time during 2024 due to the rising cost of living. 

Our work has never been more needed, and demand continues to grow: we are building our expertise and impact in response. The Felix Project now operates from four main depots in North, South, East, and West London, with ‘point-to-point’ projects in Central London and Canary Wharf. Felix’s Kitchen in our East London depot produces up to 5,000 meals per day from surplus food. Felix’s Multibank in West London distributes non-food items to those who need it most. As part of the charity’s involvement with The Coronation Food Project, we are launching an innovative food processing lab – The Felix Food Factory. 

Purpose of the Job

The Felix Project is looking for a talented individual to help manage and support on implementing their corporate partnerships strategy. This role will sit within our growing Corporate Partnerships Team as part of the wider Fundraising & Marketing Team. The purpose of this role will be to lead on the development of new business in conjunction with the Corporate Partnership Managers, while also building upon our existing pipeline of future opportunities. Key responsibilities

Understanding needs and the changing external environment

• Develop understanding of the preferences and needs of statisticians and data professionals, and others interested in data and statistics, at an individual and organisational level, to evolve our products and services and align our commercial activities to those preferences and needs

Working for the RSS

Pension and benefits

Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available.

Location

The RSS office is in central London. We offer flexible working arrangements, and this is a hybrid role with on average two days a week working in the office. In person attendance for certain meetings is required (including all staff/team meetings and governance/committee meetings that take place in person). Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.

Working hours

35 per week full-time. Applications for job shares, part-time and flexible working will also be considered.

Holidays

25 days per annum, plus bank holidays and an additional shut down between Christmas and New Year.

Probation

This post is subject to a six-month probation period.

Responsibilities

Publications, Brand and Content 

• Assist the Senior Communications Manager in developing and delivering a content strategy to support Settle’s goals. 

• Maintain brand consistency across all communications and craft clear, engaging messages about Settle’s work. 

• Collaborate with frontline staff and young people to collect and share their stories in an authentic and respectful way, including creating case studies and helping to develop Settle’s storytelling work. 

• Design marketing materials and publications, such as newsletters, annual reports and printed flyers for our different audiences. We use InDesign for our large-scale design projects, while we use Canva for our day-to-day projects. You don’t necessarily need experience of both of these, but you’ll need to be confident with designing multimedia content with similar sort of software.

Website, Digital and Social Media 

• Create, publish and schedule posts for our social media, where you’ll work with the Senior Communications Manager to engage and grow our audiences. We are currently active on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Bluesky, but we are planning to launch a TikTok account this year. Experience of editing and making video content would be desirable, but we can support you to develop these skills if you are confident with using tools like Canva already. 

• Work with the Senior Communications Manager and wider team to develop, manage and update content for Settle’s website, keeping it up to date for all our key audiences. This will include supporting with writing blogs, with and on behalf of the organisation. Our website is built on Wagtail CMS – you don’t need to necessarily have used this exact CMS, but experience of updating website content would be desirable. 

• Collate content from across the team for our supporters’ newsletter on MailChimp and assist other teams in publishing any other newsletters for specific audiences.

Media, PR and Policy 

• Assist with handling any media requests and developing Settle’s external reputation. 

• Support the Senior Communications Manager and Settle’s lived experience Advocacy Forum group in producing communications to shape policy and campaigns related to Settle’s work. 

• Support with the delivery of campaigns and events across the team, including our annual Winter Fundraising Campaign and Home of Our Own advocacy campaign (currently in development) 

General Support 

• Work collaboratively across teams to align communications with organisational priorities. 

• Support the Senior Communications Manager with internal communications tasks as needed.

• Managing communications projects with confidence, managing competing priorities and working independently to a defined schedule.

About the Role

We are seeking an Educational Events Administrator to lead the Core Topics programme, a series of educational events across the UK. You will manage event logistics, liaise with speakers and sponsors, oversee delegate communications, and ensure smooth event delivery. The role involves travel and overnight stays for approximately, but not limited to, 12 events per year. Reasonable time-off-in-lieu (TOIL) is available.

Key responsibilities:

General

1. To contribute to the educational objectives set out in the department and the 5 year strategy.

2. To lead on, with guidance from the Educational Events Manager, all Core Topics programme activities to ensure KPIs are met. To also work on ad-hoc meetings and courses of similar size and complexity as and when needed.

3. To work with the board lead for Core Topics and the education committee to continually keep the Core Topics programme innovative and fresh, in terms of topics and format.

4. To be a proficient user of the CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and be part of future proofing the CRM through testing further updates and engaging with the CRM department on further upgrades.

5. To be fully responsible for the end-to-end management and running of Core Topics and to help the Educational Event Administrator (Seminars) with seminar meetings.

6. To provide support in the running of the Association’s webinar programme using Zoom Webinar.

7. To undertake all delegate correspondence, sharing responsibility to monitor and take ownership of the general events inbox. To deal with initial enquiries, to confirm bookings and to process cancellations and ensure queries are resolved prior to the meetings. 

8. To be a point of contact for telephone and email enquiries pertaining to the Association meetings, courses, Core Topics and seminars. To proactively respond to all enquiries and ensure that they are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. 

9. To assist the Educational Events Co-ordinators with allocated components of the Conference project plan where assigned which may include but are not limited to: badging, accommodation, workshops, photography.

Core Topics Logistics

1. To lead on the Core Topics programme proactively ensuring set KPIs are achieved. This will be done by forward planning to ensure the Core Topics are booked in the calendar of events in a timely manner to ensure maximum lead times for marketing of the Core Topics programme. Avoiding where possible conflicts in the Core Topics programme with other Association events and other society/organisations events that may be in direct competition.

2. To be responsible for all organiser, speaker, and delegate management for Core Topics making sure all requirements are accurately recorded and that their needs are met before, during and after the event.

3. Communicate sponsorship and exhibition opportunities to the Partnerships and Sponsorships Manager. Act as the primary contact for exhibitors and sponsors post-onboarding, providing administrative support and ensuring clear communication, timely deliverables, and positive relationships throughout all event stages.

4. Work with our e-education Manager in setting up and running webinars using Zoom. 

5. To be responsible for on the day running of the Core Topics. This will include travelling to Core Topics across the UK and will require overnight stays.

6. Contract with venues for Core Topic events, ensuring they are within budget and have favourable terms. Work with the venues to coordinate requirements such as room setup, catering, and audiovisual needs.

7. To prepare delegate, speaker and exhibitor materials for meetings and Core Topics.

8. To ensure that all bookings are correctly processed via the Association CRM. To keep accurate records of booking numbers and patterns and to report progress to the team on a weekly basis. 

Finance

1. To produce and maintain accurate financial records of bookings taken for meetings and Core Topics and to issue invoices and receipts where necessary.

2. To liaise with the finance department regarding registrations and to ensure resolution of financial queries.

Continual Improvement

1. To be responsible for post evaluation information for events detailing delegate statistics and feedback, making recommendations for improvement and to attend and give feedback on all aspects of event activities during weekly meetings.

2. To work with the events team to ensure the continual development and improvement of the educational programme, both through content and format of meetings, be it online, hybrid or in-person.

3. To ensure the smooth running of administrative systems throughout the team, maintaining an effective filing and archiving system and to develop procedures to accurately record information.

4. To be responsible for implementing quality assurance within the Association QA policy and procedures

About the Content Support Officer role:

The Virtual Village Hall (VVH) is the main Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) live online interactive platform by which the charity interacts with and supports people in communities across the nation. The purpose of the Content Support Officer is to support delivery of the VVH Communications Plan. They will provide written content to support the promotion and every day running of the service and will research and secure talent and organisations to host new/themed sessions. They will be a key member of the Virtual Village Hall team and will provide input into the planning and growth of the Virtual Village Hall.

The First Time for Everything project (FTFE) provides new opportunities and experiences for people over 55 to try something new for free in their local community and to be social and active, particularly those that are older or less mobile.  The programme has nationwide reach but targets areas of social deprivation and seeks to address health inequalities. A percentage of programmes are therefore delivered in targeted areas to reflect this.

The purpose of the Content Support Officer is to support FTFE activity coordinators to attract participation in events and raise awareness of the FTFE programme. They will provide written content for local media, case studies for fundraising and marketing purposes, and occasional briefing documents for RVS media interviewees.

Community Fundraising Officer, South 

Hours: Part-time – 21 hours per week

Location: Hybrid Working with a minimum of one day a week working from Head Office (based near the city in London)

Reports to: Community Fundraising Manager

Role purpose: To fundraise for The Sick Children’s Trust through varied community fundraising activities, including supporting family fundraising and third-party events in the south such as but not limited to The Royal Parks Half Marathon. The postholder will be required to forge and develop new fundraising opportunities and relationships with local businesses, community organisations and schools. Ensuring a sensitive and effective supporter journey for new and existing supporters.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Ø  To cultivate and recruit new and existing supporters and volunteers to participate in a range of third-party events including The Royal Parks Half Marathon and ‘run your own’ fundraising events. To uplift supporter value, steward and retain through the delivery of brilliant supporter care whilst being respectful of potential sensitivities particularly when working with families who are fundraising in memory

Ø  Build and develop trusted relationships when appropriate with families to support fundraising, storytelling and volunteering. Work sensitively and empathetically with this core audience group engendering their long-term support and advocacy of the Charity’s work.
