We do this by building and running high specification cinemas in hospitals, bringing the magic of the silver screen to patients young and old, for free. We have an ambitious growth plan in place for the charity to continue to maximise services at our current sites, to build new MediCinemas and expand services to new hospitals across the country ensuring nationwide reach and impact. We are now looking to expand our Fundraising and Devlopment team in this newly created role. You will have relevant experience likely to have been gained over 1 to 3 years working in fundraising, supporter engagement, or a similar role within a charity or not-for-profit organisation. You must be confident using CRM systems such as Donorfy or similar, and in writing donor communications. Our team is passionate about the work we do and it is crucial that you have a genuine interest in the role fundraising plays in the charity sector as well as a resonance with our cause.
About the role
· Assist the Fundraising department in planning and delivering national and large-scale fundraising activities.
· Assist the Individual Giving Manager in the coordination and delivery of fundraising campaigns and initiatives including our annual Christmas Appeal, ensuring they are executed effectively and efficiently.
· Support the delivery of digital fundraising activities in line with the Fundraising Strategic Framework.
· Support the administration of the individual giving fundraising programme in collaboration with the wider team.
· Assist the Head of High Value and Individual Giving Manager to administer donor support communications.
· Ensure all donors are thanked in a timely manner via e-mail and letters and accurately recorded on our CRM.
· Maintain and update supporter and donor records within the CRM database ensuring they are accurate.
· Support the refinement of systems and processes to enhance donor experience.
· Serve as the first point of contact for Community Fundraising, including emailing and posting fundraising packs and providing fundraising guidance and advice.
· Maintain and develop our low to mid-level Trust and Foundation income, delivering applications and reporting using our Case for Support.
· Respond to general enquiries received over the phone and through the fundraising and general enquires inboxes.
· Liaise closely with colleagues across the charity to support the development of fundraising collateral and materials for fundraising activities.

The Role
The Media Manager plays a central role at our charity, working closely with the Head of Media and Media Officer to manage the public relations function. You will be responsible for helping to develop and execute national and regional media campaigns to help people better understand our mission and motivate support.

Role Summary:

Role Responsibilities:
Centre Operations Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business centre, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained, compliant, and running smoothly.

- Implement and monitor operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality, including opportunities to digitise processes and services.

- Draft lease documentation and ensure timely renewals and support the rollout of any rent reviews.
- Carry out twice-yearly audits of lease documentation.
- Maintain relationships with tenants to support retention and satisfaction.
- Monitor lease management by team, lease compliance and resolution of any lease-related issues.
Customer Service
- Act as a point of contact for tenants, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Foster strong relationships with tenants, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies to attract new tenants and retain existing tenants with the goal of maintaining high occupancy levels.
Financial Management
- Manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources and that projects are delivered within budget.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to secure cost-effective deals.
- Ensure tenant arrears are regularly monitored and managed.
Line Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage the lettings and maintenance teams, ensuring high performance and productivity.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Handle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of staff members as needed.
Essential Skills / Experience

About Us:
Strength & Learning Through Horses provides mental health and education support to some of London’s most vulnerable young people through offering equine assisted therapy and alternative education programmes. The organisation’s ability to deliver excellence in its service quality is dependent upon a skilled and competent workforce where learning and continuous improvement is a fundamental aim.
Strength & Learning Through Horses has been in operation for over 10 years and has grown year on year in terms of income and number of young people reached and number of services we offer.
We have 5 full time and 5 part time contracted staff members, 18 freelance staff members and work with 17 volunteers. 400 – 500 young people per year benefit from our life changing services; our hope is that this will increase to 700+ per year from 2027 once the building project at our site is complete. We have ambitious longer term plans for growth.
We have been operating in North London for over 10 years from a small stables, after our lease sadly came to an end in January 2023 we moved to our long term home. This was a derelict stables owned by the Council which we have secured via a 25 year lease. In 2022-23 we raised £300,000 to get the site usable as an equine therapy centre although it is still very run down with much of it boarded up an derelict. We now have full planning permission to develop the site and build a purpose built equine therapy centre which will allow us to double the number of young people who access the space.
About the Role:
To make this dream a reality we are looking for an experienced Capital Fundraising Manager to lead the Capital fundraising campaign for this project to raise £700,000 over 2 years in order to fund this build.
The hope is to raise £350,000 in year one in order to fund half of the build (stage 1) with the remaining funding being secured in the 2nd year to complete the build in year 2. We have a strong track record of fundraising including recently securing 5 years core costs funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and we have warm relationships that we can call on once this fundraising campaign gets activated.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the charity at a time of growth and change and an opportunity for someone to really make this role their own.

- Working closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure fundraising materials and pitch decks are high quality
- Engaging staff, volunteers and supporters in the campaign
- Manage fundraising pipeline and presenting a progress updates to the board if required
- Creating a relationship with one of our HNW funders who has connections with other HNW individuals and corporations
- The Equestrian Management Agency (who support us as their partner charity and are invested in making this fundraising campaign a success)

The Role
We are recruiting for a Community Fundraising Manager to join our Fundraising team. The role will be instrumental in the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and building fundraising partnerships across a range of community audiences, including youth and education, sports clubs, community groups and individuals doing their own activities. You will be responsible for growing our existing community products such as Turn Cricket Red as well as introducing new products and initiatives to generate growth in Community Fundraising. Part of a small team, you will develop key relationships within the RSF network of supporters, suppliers and delivery partners and manage a portfolio of events and activities for a range of supporter groups.

- Managing and growing the Ruth Strauss Foundation Turn Cricket Red Campaign, working with schools, sports clubs and Universities
- Creation of new RSF owned community fundraising events/activities/products
- Managing RSF third party events-London Marathon, Westminster Mile, professional athlete testimonials, galas and dinners
- Work closely with the Ruth Strauss Foundation School Programme Lead to maximise schools community fundraising
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the Foundations community fundraising strategy and community fundraising activities and campaigns
- Develop and implement a varied portfolio of events and community fundraising activities to meet agreed objectives, all of which reflect the spirit of the Ruth Strauss Foundation
- Ensure, with the wider Fundraising team, we meaningfully engage different communities with RSF
- Ensure relevant processes and policies are in place to deliver a successful, profitable community fundraising programme
- Oversee the management of fundraising systems, processes, and platforms in order to create the best possible experience for donors and participants
- Develop a robust supporter journey for community fundraisers which leaves them with an excellent supporter experience and generates a lifelong relationship with RSF
To achieve these objectives the post holder will be expected to:
- Plan, budget, attend and coordinate an annual community fundraising and events calendar with set objectives, budgets and KPIs for each activity
- Regularly review the performance of fundraising activities/events and products, make recommendations for improvement, and support decision-making regarding fit of new opportunities for the foundation
- Project Manage the delivery of the community fundraising programme at RSF, leading on activity working group meetings, coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure campaigns, activities and events are managed efficiently
- Work closely with the schools lead and school manager to grow our schools fundraising programme – working collaboratively so the training programme objectives are also met
- Develop a long-term growth strategy for Turn Cricket Red – focused on maximising current opportunities as well as diversifying to increase our reach
- Deliver high value supporter stewardship to increase lifetime value and impact of their fundraising
- Build and maintain a variety of community relationships across varying stakeholders and seniority, ensuring opportunities for growth are maximised
- Alongside the team, co-ordinate event/activity logistics including but not limited to sales, bookings and liaison with supporters and suppliers, material production, promotion, set up, and delivery
- Oversee relationship with key providers of event fundraising mechanisms such as online donation platforms, auction platforms and text to donate services
- Work with colleagues to ensure all events are adequately supported with staff, volunteers and hosts, and that all stakeholders receive appropriate training/ briefing and post event debriefs
- Work with the Head of MarComms and Digital to produce engaging fundraising collateral and information for event and community supporters including pre and post event communications/marketing collateral, working with external production companies where required
- Ensure all events and activities are compliant with fundraising code of conduct, GDPR and other event processes/policies
- Oversee the use of the CRM system to ensure data is recorded in compliance to Data Protection and GDPR and maximises output for supporter journeys
- Use sector trends and audience analysis to direct strategy and ensure that RSF remains innovative and at the forefront of Community fundraising

What we are looking for:
- Experience of designing and delivering successful Community fundraising events and activities
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills including budget and project management
- Ability to build excellent relationships especially with supporters, partners, ambassadors and suppliers
- Strong team player and project leadership, ensuring clear and regular communication with the RSF team and stakeholders as appropriate
- Ability to keep calm under pressure and maintain a clear head, anticipating risks and problems
- A willingness to adapt and be flexible. There are often new projects, changing priorities, and new processes that you will need to embrace
- Ability to undertake travel, including overnight stays where necessary
- Competent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience of CRM systems
