Part 1: Role Purpose:

We are seeking an outstanding Programme Manager to oversee the management of an exciting new Bengo-funded project piloting an innovative approach to overcome poverty as the primary barrier to education through the development of community-based savings groups. Working closely with Street Child’s national partner, the role holder will support the effective implementation of adaptive programming through hands-on support to implementation teams. Based in Freetown, the role-holder will travel frequently to project locations to monitor progress.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Street Child Germany team to ensure compliance to donor requirements and prepare accurate and timely donor reporting. The Programme Manager will also support the development of Street Child’s growing portfolio of German government, trust and foundations, and corporate funding in Sierra Leone, and wider West-Africa region, contributing to proposal writing, report writing and communications materials.

Knowledge of the German language and experience with Bengo compliance requirements would be a distinct advantage.

Part 2: Key Responsibilities:

1) Programme Management – 50%

• Work in collaboration with partner management to ensure quality and timely implementation of programme activities.
• Work alongside the implementation team to provide strong hands-on support in programme delivery and MEAL approaches, identifying and addressing challenges and blockages.
• Work closely with implementation teams to improve data analysis and learning, supporting the development of remediation plans where necessary.
• Alongside colleagues, provide training, guidance and advice to partner delivery staff to ensure effective and accurate use of programme documents and tools.
• Review narrative and financial quarterly reporting from implementing teams and provide feedback.
• Lead on donor reporting for the new Bengo project.

2) Programme Funding – 25%

• Work closely with the Street Child Germany team to respond to funding opportunities and guide programme development, in close liaison with Sierra Leone country team, and wider West-Africa teams, as required.
• Contribute to, and/or lead proposal writing, working closely with the Head of Programmes.
• Liaise with finance and programmes colleagues on budget and target setting for new opportunities.
• Prepare, and contribute to, reporting for a range of T&F and corporate donors.

3) Financial Support – 20%

• Support programme teams in compiling requisitions in line with programme forecasts and budgets.
• Work with finance colleagues to collate financial reporting, in line with donor requirements.
• Ensure compliance with donor expectations across the programme.

4) Other – 5%

• Coordinating staff, stakeholders and donor visits, as required.
• A strong commitment to Street Childs vision, mission and values.
• Adhere to all Street Child’s policies and procedures.
• Represent Street Child appropriately both internally and externally.
• Carry out all reasonable requests that are within the broad remit of the role.

Location: USPG, 5 Trinity Street, London, SE1 1DB - Flexible working available - a minimum of two days working in the London office, currently Mondays and Wednesdays.

About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, the Major Donor Manager sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising team. 

The role involves developing plans that feed into the USPG fundraising strategy to increase engagement from high net worth individuals and cultivating new high value donors. Managing the major donor income and expenditure budgets, ensuring all activity meets income targets and expenditure remains on budget. Developing and managing a pipeline of donors to approach and build relationships, securing high value (5 and 6 figure) gifts. Hosting meetings, presentations and special events to network with high value donors and cultivate new relationships.

About You 

You are a confident, passionate fundraiser and relationship manager with the proven ability to motivate and inspire others to give. You have experience of implementing fundraising plans, developing a pipeline of high value donors and securing high value (5 and 6 figure) gifts. You are pro-active and self-sufficient, equally comfortable working alone or as part of a team to achieve shared goals. You are target driven with a hands-on approach, adapting as necessary to carry out a range of tasks from writing proposals, managing events and researching prospective donors. 

You are highly personable, with the ability to engage supporters and stakeholders with diplomacy and persuasiveness. An excellent communicator with strong writing skills and the ability to adapt to different audiences, you will be comfortable working closely with senior leadership, trustees and influencers to unlock peer connections and leverage new support. Background

The Karen Hilltribes Trust (KHT) is a UK registered Charity that has worked in Northern Thailand for the past three decades. Our mission is to partner with Karen communities to improve their health, livelihoods, and access to education. By taking an integrated approach to the complex socio-economic issues at hand, we aim to achieve sustainable change by empowering Karen communities to improve their own lives.

Since 1986, KHT has transformed the health and well-being of over 50,000 people through the provision of clean drinking water, improved sanitation facilities and hygiene education; secured agriculture as a sustainable livelihood for more than 17,000 farmers through the construction of flood-resistant irrigation systems; and increased accessed to education for 17,000 children and young people through school meals, transport and accommodation, and higher education scholarships.

Main Purpose of The Position

The Fundraising Manager will work closely with the Thai-Karen team and Director of KHT to secure funding to support the successful operation of the charity and implement projects in KHT’s three key programme areas: Community Health; Sustainable Livelihoods; and Access to Education. The role will be primarily desk based but with opportunities to travel to the field. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for:

• Developing and implementing KHT’s fundraising strategy;

• Applying for grants from foundations, corporations, and individuals;

• Implement Prospect Research on existing and new potential donors (major gifts, corporates, trusts and foundations, individual donors) and creating solicitation plans, informing the Director on updates and activities implementation;

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Develop and maintain a fundraising strategy with the Director, paying particular attention to increasing unrestricted funding opportunities.

2. Help develop and implement a CSR strategy to better engage corporations.

3. Manage grant applications for our projects to existing and new funders, who may be foundations, corporations, or individual donors.

4. Implement Prospect Research on existing and new potential donors (major gifts, corporates, trusts and foundations, individual donors) and creating solicitation plans, informing the Director on updates and activities implementation;

5. Check and constantly update Donorfy database, in coordination with KHT Director and KHT Finance Administrator;

6. Recruit volunteers to join our projects in Thailand, organically and potentially through partnerships.

7. Keep relationship with KHT Board of Trustees, in order to keep them informed on any useful material and initiatives they may help KHT with.

8. Implement community fundraising activities and organise talks and fundraising events, with the support and help of KHT Trustees and volunteers.  

9. Ensure that the organisation communicates regularly with its supporters, creating bespoke messages to increase engagement and donations and supporting social media content.

10. Ensure that the organisation complies with fundraising regulations set by the Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator, and other relevant bodies.

11. Visit our team in Northern Thailand on an occasional basis (likely once a year) to better understand our work on the ground and support fundraising initiatives.

12. To perform other such duties as may be required by the Director, which are consistent with the responsibilities of the post.

Person Specification

You’ll likely have:

• Several years of experience in a relevant role fundraising for registered charities.

• Demonstrable success in securing funding through grant applications and by engaging donors.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-level written communications in English and adapt writing style for an array of different audiences.

• Knowledge of Charity Commission/Fundraising Regulator regulations pertaining to fundraising.

• High level of computer literacy and a proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Confidence to present the work of the charity to donors and supporters.

• Capable of working within different cultures and with teams from different economic and cultural backgrounds, where English might not be the first language.

• Well organised, able to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines.

• Have a proactive, flexible, and patient attitude.

About you

As our National Face-to-Face Fundraising Manager, you will set the standard for brilliant, effective fundraising putting our supporters are at the heart of everything we do. You will take the lead, bringing both fundraising and operational expertise to deliver strong data driven campaigns, ensuring its success day to day. 

In this role, you will:

• Drive the success of our face-to-face agency program, meeting and exceeding KPIs and targets through effective management of stakeholders.
• Manage budget allocation and optimization across channels, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently.
• Lead the implementation of compliance and safeguarding programs, maintaining the highest standards.
• Support delivery of our innovative fundraiser engagement program, optimizing performance and motivation.
• Utilize data-driven insights to adapt campaign delivery and drive continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with agencies through direct engagement and site visits, ensuring transparency and excellence.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and deliver exceptional results. Lead ad-hoc direct engagement projects as required, contributing to our mission-driven work.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Experience of managing the delivery of end-to-end face-to-face fundraising activity or campaigns and teams.
• An in-depth understanding of the F2F landscape and different agency models.
• Experience of designing and delivering exceptional training to drive engagement.
• Knowledge and experience of the compliance environment for charity marketing.
• Experience of managing large budgets.
• Ability to analyse, interpret & explain results with a focus and drive on results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ways of Working:

The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but there are likely to be times when you will be required to come to your contracted office (up to 2-4 days per month or 6-8 days per quarter).  This will be agreed with your Line Manager and team and is intended to be time spent on collaborating with colleagues and relationship building.

The role

You’ll be key to delivering our corporate partnerships income strategy, identifying and driving vital new business as well retaining longer term support from priority sectors. As Corporate Partnerships Manager you will be responsible for driving income growth and leveraging Ovarian Cancer Action’s increasing levels of brand awareness and creating compelling, mutually beneficial partnerships. To achieve this, you’ll need to find innovative ways to engage businesses and identify opportunities to maximise income from the relevant sectors.

· Is looking to be an integral part of the fundraising management team, delivering robust plans, insight and spearheading relevant cross team project work. 

· Is looking for an exciting opportunity to shape, lead and grow a relatively new income focus area for Ovarian Cancer Action.

Following its successful relaunch, the Air Cadet Charity is seeking a highly motivated Trust and Major Donor Fundraiser to help it achieve its aims of supporting and developing the young people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Air Cadet Charity, until now, has had to rely on donations but Trustees have decided to expand our income generation streams in order to enable us to do more for each and every Royal Air Force Air Cadet. Our activities and projects include supporting flying, adventurous training, drone piloting, participation in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, national sports and national music competitions, BTEC qualifications, STEM development as well as many others. Although the Charity had been around in a different guise for many years this is an opportunity to join a vibrant young charity at the start of its new journey to do more for the young people of our Nation.

The role will focus chiefly on sourcing funding from charitable trusts who share our goal of developing our young people, equipping them with the skills to prosper not only in the present but also for the rest of their lives. Some cadets will join the Royal Air Force, but the majority go on to forge careers in all walks of life thanks to the opportunities provided by the Air Cadets and the Air Cadet Charity. Our policy is to spend all that we earn and to dip into our capital if required. Annual expenditure and income is around £900,000 each year and our aim is to increase this to around £1,500,000 by 2029. The successful applicant will have tried and tested charitable trust fundraising skills such that they contribute the majority of the additional funds required to make this ambition a reality although we recognise that this will not be an overnight goal!  In addition, the successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills enabling them to encourage donations from major donors and all who would wish to support the development of our young people.

The role will work directly to the Charity Director, will suit someone who is able to work as the sole fundraiser – although there may be scope to increase our resources as our ambition grows – and not afraid of hard work and added responsibility. It will be primarily working from home with regular contact with the Charity Director and the Trustees responsible for fundraising.

Pitching, presenting and proposal writing should be a strength, that can be evidenced through successful fundraising. Specific knowledge of charitable trust fundraising is essential and wider knowledge of other fundraising specialisms would be advantageous, such as Major Donor and Corporate. We’re looking for a proactive and ambitious team player, able to work from your own initiative.

Key Focus areas

• Expert knowledge of charitable trust fundraising with a track record in designing and securing major gifts through written and/or verbal proposals.
• A track record in securing income from individual donors, Major Donors and Philanthropists including knowledge of legacy fundraising.
• Develop engaging supporter journeys and Legacy pipelines.
• Provide an exceptional experience to our supporters.
• Strong understanding of fundraising principles but most importantly doing the right thing at all times.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinker with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

Salary £35k-£40k per year pro-rata, 26 days annual leave (not including bank holidays).

Emmaus Bristol is a local homelessness charity and part of the international movement of Emmaus communities.

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to lead on our fundraising by developing and implementing a strategy to secure core funding, as well as working with other managers to secure project funding. You will need to be innovative and determined as well as being an excellent communicator. This is a new role and it will really suit someone who is a confident self-starter with an eye for detail.

Emmaus is different to other homeless charities in that staff work alongside formerly homeless residents, known within Emmaus as Companions. So as well as working as part of our employee team, you’d also work alongside Companions and other volunteers.

We are a small charity, and your ability to help us grow our income will make an enormous difference to our beneficiaries and support us in achieving our five-year plan. We want someone in the role who is fired up by our mission and able to inspire this in our donors.

This is a flexible position, and we are pleased to be able to offer it on either a full or part-time basis. Given the varied nature of the role, you will be able to work from home as well as in our office, and get out and about building relationships on our behalf.

Your enthusiasm and personality are as important to us as direct fundraising experience, so if your skills have been gained in a different sector, we will still welcome your application if you have relevant transferable skills. The key requirements are that you have experience of securing contracts or funding, can quickly build relationships with others, and are highly numerate and literate.
