Main duties

Form a close working relationship with the Marketing and Finance teams

Lead the development and delivery of the Outreach Services strategic plan

Take overall control of the delivery, development and quality standards of the Outreach Services – BeyondAutism Fast Responder®, Outreach and Training Meet sales targets

Ensure that the Outreach Services impact measures are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth

This exciting new role, funded by the National Lottery, will enable you to harness the work of Resolve Poverty so that we can have impact. You will join a dedicated and growing team working to maximise the impact of local responses to poverty in order to resolve poverty nationally. 

Title: Network Development Coordinator (Lancashire) 

Location: Combination of homeworking and office based. There is an expectation that you will work one day a week from our offices in central Manchester and that you will travel extensively across Lancashire in order to deliver this role.

Growing Hope Senior Finance Officer

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up our fourth and fifth clinics in Maidstone and Redbridge. We worked with over 500 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings in 2023. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 1,000 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic finance professional with great attention to detail, strong analytical skills and an ability to work in a fast pace environment. The role will report to the Director of Operations and will involve running book keeping, reporting and banking functions as well as overseeing payroll. This role supports the national Growing Hope charity and each of the local charities’ (clinics) accounting for around £1 million collectively each year. You will be joining a small and dedicated national team of eleven.

Job Purpose
Growing Hope requires an experienced finance professional (with part qualifications) who will be responsible for the delivery of internal financial management systems and controls, and for maintaining accurate financial management records, including managing the process of producing annual accounts. This role covers both the national charity and the local Growing Hope charities which are growing across the UK. The national charity raises around £600,000 per year and the local charities around £50,000-£100,000. The Senior Finance Officer will support the charities with day to day book keeping, raising invoices, paying expenses, scheduling payroll payments and running management reports and accounts. This job role also involves advising on budgets for fundraising project proposals and working closely with the supporter engagement team. This individual will be able to communicate effectively with all the relevant parties including the national Growing Hope team, the local Clinic Managers, and local finance trustees who have overall governance of each charity’s finances.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Book keeping & Finance processes

• Processing of accounts using Quickbooks for each Growing Hope charity in a timely manner (currently 6 small charities)
• Paying expenses and invoices as and when these are approved.
• Liaising with payroll provider and scheduling salary payments for all staff each month.
• Invoicing local Growing Hope charities each month for book keeping, payroll and quickbooks.
• Running gift aid claims and supporting volunteers to run this across the Growing Hope charities.
• Liaising with local clinics and churches to agree payment schedules and giving for each financial year.
• Participate actively in prayer and worship times as part of the team. This includes praying, coaching and supporting Clinic Managers to understand their budgets and financial processes.

Fundraising

• Contributing to the fundraising strategy and development of budgets for fundraising projects.

Reporting

• Updating monthly forecast vs. budget spreadsheets for each local charity and the national charity.

• Create annual reports in partnership with the Clinic Managers and Finance trustee for each local charity and ensure these are independently examined by recruiting and liaising with volunteer accountants.

Payroll

• Liaising with the payroll provider to run payroll for all staff across the Growing Hope charities each month.
• Setting up and running pension payments each month.
• Paying NI payments each month.

General administration

• Set up bank accounts and signatories for local Growing Hope charities, support the local trustees with ensuring all financial processes are set up and working (e.g. bank account, Stripe, Quickbooks, payroll, pensions, HMRC)
• Sending letters and emails as required.
• Maintain data protection and confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s information governance policy.
• Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and wider Growing Hope policies.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team to work in Cornwall to promote and enable - walking, wheeling, cycling, and public transport as the sustainable way of travelling to schools, workplaces, and for journeys in the local community.

As the Project Officer, you will be innovating, developing, and delivering tailor-made packages of activities and promotional material to encourage and enable active travel.

We are recruiting for an experienced HR Officer to support on employee lifecycle administration, and proactively contribute to the review and development of HR processes at CASPA with a strategic focus on accessibility and user experience in a neurodiverse organisation.

The HR Officer plays a key role in supporting the HR and Operations Team to develop and maintain a positive, engaging, and inclusive working environment for our staff and volunteers.

We are looking for someone to join our Public Fundraising Team as a Senior Challenge & Public Events Officer, to independently manage and have overall responsibility for leading on the planning and delivery of a pilot bespoke running event happening in May 2025. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of project managing large-scale events with exceptional organisational skills; developing multi-channel marketing plans; developing and delivering complex stewardship journeys, and have strong relationship management skills. 

Please note that this is an 8-month opportunity, of 21 hours per week. Due to the time-sensitive nature of planning this event, we are looking to have someone in post by mid-October. Please take this into consideration when submitting your application.

Age UK are recruiting for a Director of Network Engagement & Support.

In this new, impactful role, you will be responsible for mobilising and subsequently continuously improving a new network engagement and support function. The aim of the function is to significantly enhance the understanding the of needs, views and priorities of local Age UKs and the way in which the national organisation connects with, engages, and supports them. 

Working collaboratively with local Age UKs and national teams, the Director of Network Engagement & Support will be responsible for developing and implementing a network engagement and support strategy. This includes driving forward changes that may include the type of support provided, the way in which it is delivered and how it is monitored and measured to ensure our approach is responsive, sustainable and supports the strategic objectives and operational needs of the network.

This will require collaborative working across a range of teams to ensure a coherent and coordinated approach. This role and team will engage directly with local Age UK leadership, be the owner of the organisational overview of the network and network interactions, ensuring risks and issues are appropriately managed and that there is an effective and transparent flow of information across the organisation and network including into formal governance mechanisms.  

The Director of Network Engagement & Support will ensure the effective delivery and operation of several formal and informal network engagement activities, for example Chief Officer induction. Whilst taking responsibility for providing team strategic direction and management to achieve objectives, the role holder is also expected to be a visible and constructive participant within both the wider Age UK senior management team and the senior team of the Network division.

This is a hybrid opportunity, linked with our central London office. Travel to other Network locations is required and may involve overnight stays.

Must haves:

• Experience of designing, leading and building high performing teams including bringing teams together to achieve change.  
• Experience of developing, implementing and continuously improving a support or relationship function setting standards for delivery i.e. KPIs/ SLAs including using technology effectively.  
• Demonstrable experience of building productive stakeholder relationships at executive level, with an ability to influence and negotiate and overcome barriers particularly in relation to delivering strategic objectives.  
• Proven track record as a strategic thinker, ability to recognise and navigate the overall operating context of an organisation, and think critically about evidence, business requirements and user needs. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders in a complex environment.
• Good influencing, negotiation and persuasion skills with senior managers and stakeholders to enable the delivery of positive solutions.   
• Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, maintain systems, manage competing demands and work calmly and confidently under pressure.  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a flair for adapting tone and message for different audiences.   
• Proven ability to analyse complex information and make decisions/formulate recommendations quickly, communicating information clearly and accessibly. 
• Proven experience of improving outcomes for stakeholders through collaboration and coordination along with an ability to use own initiative to take action. 

Great to haves:

• Knowledge of the role of statutory, voluntary and private sectors in relation to service provision for older people.
• Knowledge of services for older people, with a particular focus on those provided by local Age UKs.
• Well-developed understanding of the environment affecting statutory, private and voluntary sector organisations
