Main tasks
- Consistently put the women and birthing people we work with at the heart of our charity, seeking their views, staying connected to our service offering, monitoring impact, and seeking to improve what we do.

Summary of Role
The Regional Head of Middle East Programmes supports the organisation’s programmatic efforts with a focus on developing and implementing strategy for the Middle East region whilst also providing hands-on support to day-to-day grants management, partner management and donor coordination and reporting.
The following role works closely with the Director of Programmes and Head of Programmes (Protracted Contexts). The role will also regularly work as the intermediary lead with the established Collective for Refugee Leadership in MENA (CRLM), which is a group of donors and thought partners focused on advancing refugee leadership and support for refugees across the Middle East and North Africa.
You will be highly flexible and adaptive, able to respond effectively and in line with our emergency protocols to humanitarian crises as required, whilst also supporting longer-term protracted programmes work. You will have strong project and grants management experience and highly effective administration skills. You drive efficiency and innovation and provide senior management guidance on international projects, as well as high-quality implementation. You will address challenges and issues in all aspects of project implementation and ensure timely and appropriate solutions, including the identification and mitigation of programmatic risks. You will also demonstrate strong people management skills, with an ability to provide both task management and strategic guidance (in addition to more holistic line management support) to several team members.
Responsibilities
Grant Management
● Manage the Choose Love Middle East team to ensure smooth and efficient grant-making for our work in the Middle East
● This includes leading on, and managing a small team, to:
▪ Work closely with partners to gather, review and track due diligence documentation required for granting to partner organisations.
▪ Support the maintenance of grants systems to track grant making progress e.g start and end dates, reporting deadlines, no cost extensions etc.
▪ Draft and/ or review grant agreements between Choose Love and partner organisations and ensure any grant amendments or addendums have correct and accurate information
▪ Review reports from partner organisations to ensure effective use of Choose Love funds
▪ Work with the Data Lead (Programmes) to review Middle East reporting data received from partners and assess outputs, impact and successes from grant-making in the region. This will include being closely involved in impact reporting within the CRLM initiative.
▪ Working with the Director of Programmes / Head of Programmes to attend monitoring trips to the region
▪ Support the Safeguarding Lead on Safeguarding organisational development for the region as needed
▪ Problem-solving with partners on how to get funding into challenging contexts
Partner Relationship Management
● Build meaningful, effective ongoing relationships with new and existing partners.
● Lead partner calls and track key takeaways and actions to share internally.
● Lead on regular check-ins with existing, long-term partners.
● Respond to ad hoc needs arising from partners - including clarification/support on the application process and support with reporting.

● Support with narrative reporting to donors - capturing the work of our implementing partners in the region
● Support with developing proposals for donors to Choose Love
● Respond to ad-hoc requests for information from prospective and existing donors

● Support the Partnerships team in presenting Choose Love’s work at events etc when appropriate
● Build and oversee relationships and liaise with CRLM grant partners, bilateral funders, and other key stakeholders to ensure CRLM strategy and approach are aligned to needs and trends in selected contexts
Regional Strategy
● Working closely with the Director of Programmes and the Head of Programmes (Protracted Contexts) and ELT, to develop and implement the regional strategy for Choose Love’s programmes in the Middle East as part of the wider Choose Love Strategy.
● Consulting with key advisors and stakeholders on recommendations for the Middle East strategy
● Championing and supporting opportunities to promote funding to refugee-led and lived-experience led organisations
● Working with the team to implement the regional strategy and adapt the approach in response to contextual changes or humanitarian emergencies
● Maintain an up-to-date expert understanding of the changing context and needs in the region
● Lead on Choose Love’s involvement in CRLM, including inputting and implementing the new strategy, processes, and systems
● Participate in relevant sector / regional meetings
● Work with the Director of Programmes and Head of Programmes to develop a network of peers working in the region
People Management
● Thoughtfully manage the existing team that supports Choose Love’s Middle East work by providing day to day support, meaningful 1:1s and annual reviews and identifying any learning and development needs
● Collaborate closely with (2) other Regions Heads on wider team initiatives and tasks, and be willing to provide surge management support for other regions during absences or periods of annual leave
● Support CRLM in recruiting and utilising advisors and consultants
Internal Communications
● Facilitate the sharing of regional strategy and updates across the wider Choose Love team to feed into wider fundraising efforts
● Communicate partner activities / asks to the rest of the team, including presentations on team calls and email updates to the team
● Support the ELT with information to feed back to the board about Programmes work.
● Capture information on specific contexts and summarise quickly and efficiently to the Communications team, as well as for external stakeholders/funders.
Essential Criteria
● Fluency in Arabic and English (both in written and speaking)
● Experience working in a programmes or grants-focused role related to the Middle East region
● Experience in the humanitarian sector, ideally with people who have been displaced
● Have permission to work in their country of residence
● Ability to travel within the Middle East region
● Line management experience, with remote line management experience highly desirable
● Experience liaising with donors and external stakeholders
● Report-writing skills

Salary - £40,000 - £47,000
The successful candidate will have working, expert knowledge of the region and will be an Arabic and English speaker. They will also be able to travel, particularly across the Middle East. Role Requirements
Income generation
To manage the Retail budget to achieve agreed targets:
• To maximise shop sales by achieving agreed targets both through donated stock and bought in/new goods. This involves proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed amounts and stock planning.
• Achieve Gift Aid sales conversion target through maximising new donor sign up and encouraging repeat donations.
• Achieve the shops Raffle sales targets through involving the shops team.
• To maintain high levels of shop presentation by merchandising and housekeeping to agreed standards as set out in the Shops Operations manual.
• Manage the stock levels of bought in/new goods, to include ordering of more stock as and when necessary and recording key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Assist in holding and attending Fundraising events to promote the awareness of The Children’s Trust.
• To source links with local communities to promote Retail in the community via media and other sources.
• Role involves a degree of manual handling in sorting and lifting of stock.
Administration and compliance
To ensure adherence to The Children’s Trust policies and procedures, in particular ensuring full compliance of the shops in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Trading Standards, Risk Assessments, Gift Aid, Raffle and all other legal or statutory requirements:
• To control shop expenditure through effective cost control of weekly expenses.
• To ensure minimum losses of both stock and cash by following bank and till procedures, and safeguarding the property of The Children’s Trust at all times.
• To adhere to all Policies and Procedures including those relating to the compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities, Gift Aid and Raffle.
• To be responsible for the daily management of Health and safety within the shops, completing daily checks and contributing to Risk Assessments.
• To complete all administration to meet the requirements, standard and deadlines for whom this work is produced.
• Embracing the change and development of new technology in the shop, for example The Loop (internal intranet) and Chariot (EPOS till system).
• Timely efficient responses to requests for information including voice and email messages.

Personnel and Training
To ensure the Shops team are: recruited, retained and developed:
• Provides positive, visible and proactive leadership to the Assistant Manager and Shops Volunteer team.
• To manage all employees and volunteers within the Shop in accordance with the aims and values of The Children’s Trust.
• To be responsible for the daily management of the shop team, including contribution to performance reviews for any Assistant Shop Managers.
• To recruit, support and retain team of shop volunteers.
• Provide induction and training for both Assistant Shop Manager and volunteer team as and when necessary.

About Victoria Hall Harrow
The Victoria Hall Harrow charity started in 1888, with the aim of building a high quality venue for the people of Harrow to come together and to build community. Since then our venue Victoria Hall has been rebuilt twice, most recently reopening to the public in Summer 2021. We also created a new charity some years back (a CIO), transferring the assets of the old charity over. For this reason our Charity Commission listing below is not representative of our current financial position and our assets.
For around 140 years Victoria Hall has provided space for rent to local residents and groups. It has been used for every possible purpose - parties, events, activities, conferences and much more.
More recently the trustee board have embarked on a renewed strategy process, and we are now relaunching the charity as a partnership-first community centre, that identifies local needs and uses our assets to best meet those needs, working with a wide range of partners to serve the local diverse communities.

As Community Fundraising Co-ordinator for the Huntington’s Disease Association, you will help deliver our strategic plans and objectives by generating and growing income through community fundraising activities. To deliver an effective and friendly local customer facing housing service to residents.
To develop and maintain effective working relationships with Board members, residents and team members and work with council officers and other relevant agencies/services and professionals where required.
Ensuring tenants comply with the terms and conditions of tenancy agreements, particularly as they relate to the payment of rent and former tenant arrears and that leaseholders stay up to date with the payment of service charges. MAIN RESPONSIBILITES
Tenancy Management
1. To carry out detailed and regular monitoring of individual rent accounts, taking appropriate action as set out in CCRMO’s rent arrears policy and procedures.
2. To use initiative and judgement in considering the most effective and appropriate methods to contact tenants such as by telephone, email and home visits.
3. To provide appropriate advice, support and assistance to tenants, including referrals to appropriate support agencies to assist them sustain their tenancies

5. Prepare possession applications for court hearings and attend court in support of any legal action.
6. Re-let empty properties in line with council/RMO policy, arrange viewings for prospective tenants & allocate property, minimising void turnaround time and loss of revenue.
7. Undertake 6 week settling-in visits and formally review Introductory and Secure Tenancies at appropriate intervals.
8. To conduct regular tenancy audits to enable CCRMO to confirm tenancy and refer suspicious cases to council to investigate
9. Report on key performance targets for rent collection and arrears, voids lettings and tenancy checks.
Leaseholder Service Charges
10. Ensure leaseholders comply with their lease and arrange approvals required under terms of the lease.
11. To carry out detailed and regular monitoring of all leasehold service charge accounts, taking prompt action to recover any arrears.
12. To provide information on service charge collection and arrears against key performance indicators.
13. To provide information to the Estate Director and the council to assist with identifying items to be re-charged to leaseholders in the annual service charge.
Estate management
14. Assist the Estate Director and Estate Supervisor with monthly estate inspections as required.

Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK.
Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes, shoes, mobile phones and other essential items, as well as providing social support and interaction, including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to legal, medical and educational services. Our Legal Access Department in the UK, provides access to critical legal representation for people seeking asylum and, more than this, supports people through the hostility and difficulty of claiming asylum.
In northern France we operate year-round from Calais, working alongside communities in Calais and Dunkirk to provide warm clothing, bedding and service provision to displaced people who live in appalling and dangerous conditions.
All of Care4Calais’ operations are supported by a small, dedicated team of staff who supervise large volunteer teams to provide much needed support to communities seeking asylum and on the move in the UK and France.
About the role:
Care4Calais are recruiting two Operations Coordinators to support their French operations.
The aim of the Operations Coordinator role is to support the Care4Calais’ French operations to continue to deliver vital humanitarian NFI (non food item) distributions and essential services. We distribute 6 days a week and provide daily services which include phone charging sessions, access to hairdressing, bike repair and sewing equipment, activities such as games and language lessons as well as information sharing and refreshments to communities living in northern France. As a Policy and Campaigns Assistant, you will support the Campaigning, Policy, and Public Affairs Team in achieving their strategic goals. Your contributions will help develop our campaigning community, keep our records and communications up to date, and produce impactful, tailored communications.
You will be the primary point of contact for policy and campaigns enquiries received via email, phone, and post. This role involves monitoring and maintaining the policy and campaigns sections on our internal and external websites, as well as our social media channels. You will assist in drafting content for publications, online platforms, and promotional materials for events.
Managing and maintaining databases for contact management will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will support national and local campaigns and assist in planning and delivering campaigning events. Additionally, you will help organise communications for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on MND, involvement and advisory groups, and policy focus groups.

What are we looking for?

Demonstratable campaigns experience is important. You should be adept at using digital and social media to promote campaigns and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, from senior politicians to local volunteers.
You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in writing for diverse audiences. Being a good team player is essential, as is the ability to plan and coordinate events. Strong computer skills, including database management, are required.
Flexibility is key, as occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary. You must also be able to travel to external meetings and events.
An understanding of health, social care, and welfare structures in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland is desirable, as is knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases like MND. Experience with digital campaigning software and parliamentary processes would be an advantage.

The Interim Deputy Executive Director’s responsibilities will include managing senior staff at Reprieve, including the Directors of Casework, Advocacy and Policy, and working with the Joint Executive Director to oversee Reprieve’s Fundraising and Finances, its Governance and Board relationships, and its HR and Operations functions.
The ideal candidate will ideally have experience of leadership of a small to medium size human rights or similar charity, preferably with some international operations. They will have exceptionally strong management and people management skills, excellent judgment, proven ability to lead teams to achieve impact in their work, and an understanding of charity governance and finance issues.
Contract, location and salary
This is an interim, 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 2 days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home.
The salary is £80,000 per annum plus up to 5% employee matched pension contribution.

The Director of Finance and Operations is at the heart of Severn Wye’s programmes to tackle climate change and fuel poverty. By ensuring the effective management of the charity’s finances and core services you will guarantee all our programmes grow and have real impact.
The Director of Finance & Operations is responsible for the good financial management and smooth operations of Severn Wye. In turn ensuring Severn Wye projects and programmes are as effective and efficient as they can be in tackling Climate Change and Fuel poverty through the energy system. Responsibilities include finance management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting to the board of trustees, producing annual accounts, liaison with auditors and acting in the role of Company Secretary. The role manages a staff team responsible for HR, Health and Safety, GDPR, office management and legal compliance.
The role reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the executive team, sharing collective responsibility to deliver Severn Wye’s work and plan for its future.
The successful candidate will have substantial management and financial experience, with relevant accountancy qualifications, preferably with a proven track record in the charity sector.

This role will include
- Organisational development and management:
- In partnership with the CEO, the executive team and Trustees, ensuring the development and implementation of the charity’s strategic plan.
- Being an active member of the charity’s leadership team and play a proactive role in the management of the charity.
- Being responsible for financial planning, budget setting and financial reporting.
- Ensuring operational support is effective, to review and develop organisational systems and ensure staff are well supported to be able to work effectively.
Finance:
- Developing and managing the charity’s financial processes, reviewing and developing policies, procedures and systems to ensure sound financial management and control.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
We are looking for someone with
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant, ACA, CCAB or CIMA;

- Proven ability to think strategically and lead on organisational improvement;
- Experience of managing the HR requirements of an organisation;
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with an ability to communicate and translate complex financial matters to non-financial staff and stakeholders
Desirable skills and experience include
- Understanding of charity accounting, VAT, the charity SORP, the Charities Act, tax, payroll, National Insurance and pensions legislation
- Understanding of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls
- Sound knowledge of regulation and legislation affecting charities including H&S, Safeguarding, GDPR.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Trustees, colleagues and external advisors
- Proven experience of leading continuous improvement in relation to finance, HR, IT, & relevant areas
- Experience of managing and developing staff
