Role Outline
The Benefit and Entitlements Advocate (BEA) is an important position within Stay Safe East. The successful candidate will work closely with our Independent Disability Domestic Violence Advocates and Independent Victims’ Advocates, supporting disabled people who have been impacted by domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime and other forms of crime. You will also work collaboratively with the full-time Benefits and Entitlements Advocate.
The Benefits and Entitlements Advocate will provide support with financial empowerment, income maximisation and help with managing debt. Many of our clients experience economic abuse and it takes empathy and understanding to unpick the impacts.
You will work collaboratively with clients to carry out financial empowerment assessments; creating and delivering on action plans to meet their needs relating to income, budgeting and debt.

We're looking for kind, compassionate and resilient Bank Support Workers to join our learning disabilities service in Hertfordshire.

Bank Support Workers have the ability to accept any shifts available on an ad-hoc basis across from all of Look Ahead's specialisms including Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Homelessness and Young People. Bank Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices. Within Learning Disability services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. Within Mental Health and Homelessness services they will enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package. While carrying out activities, Bank Support Workers should deal with all customers, visitors and staff in a professional and appropriate manner and report to Look Ahead staff and management any observations relating to customers' welfare.

Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities

As a Carers Hospital Support Co-Ordinator, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and supporting carers who’s relative, friend or neighbour is in hospital or receiving treatment at either the Royal London Hospital or the Homerton Hospital. This vacancy involves a unique opportunity to be the Sex Worker ISVA Learning and Policy Influencing Lead of an exciting new regional partnership program alongside National Ugly Mugs and POW (Notthingham) funded by the National Lottery Communities Fund. The Energy Neighbours Information and Data Manager will work closely with and report to the Energy Neighbours Project Manager.
The Energy Neighbours Project Coordinator enables all staff and organisations involved in the project to work together effectively. The Coordinator works with the Project Manager to develop effective, safe ways of working that make the best use of resources.
The Coordinator ensures the quality and effectiveness of record keeping, risk management and joined-up planning across the project. They help the team work together on planning work and preparations for forums, conferences and reporting. The Coordinator provides support to ensure that the project’s safeguarding, health & safety, finance and contracting arrangements are implemented across the team. They manage the office and equipment.
The aim is that the project starts in February 2025.

The Energy Neighbours project has a clear community capacity-building approach, aiming to work inclusively with communities and community organisations, listening to local priorities, experimenting and learning together, being transparent and accountable and sharing decision-making.
The project will help more community buildings and homes to be more energy efficient, by providing expertise, training, volunteering and sharing learning. Energy Neighbours supports and funds organisation development, community activities, volunteering, community business and partnership development, helping communities have a stronger voice and more capacity to impact on their priorities and concerns.
The new Energy Neighbours team includes a Project Manager, Project Coordinator and an Information and Data Manager. These three posts support four Community Energy Development Workers who work with community organisations and residents in priority areas of Kirklees. The project partners include the Kirklees Climate Commission, local experts on energy and independent evaluation support.

Background
At the core of RABI’s mission is the commitment to address the individual needs of farming people. We offer one-to-one, expert support, advice and guidance, tailored to the individual circumstances of the farming person.
You will be part of a wider Volunteering team responsible for developing our approach to volunteering and engaging local stakeholders across England and Wales.
We currently involve approximately 500 volunteers who help raise funds and awareness of RABI within local communities. Most of our volunteers belong to one of 40 county committees.
Key responsibilities:
Volunteer journey
- Work with the Volunteering Development Manager to ensure that RABI volunteering is accessible, inclusive, safe and enjoyable.
- Develop and introduce clear guidance and processes to support the volunteer journey – from recruitment, to induction, day to day management and exit.
- Update existing volunteer management policies, procedures and documents to ensure compliance with latest good practice guidance.
- Support the introduction and ongoing management of systems to support volunteering and volunteer management.
Volunteer communications and recognition
- Support and co-ordinate improvements to volunteer communications – including regular newsletters, volunteer portal and role specific updates / guidance.
- Assist with formulation of the annual volunteer survey to collate volunteer feedback on all aspects of the volunteer experience.
- Support the planning and delivery of events / meetings to bring the volunteer community together – to recognise achievements and collaborate. Including annual conferences, online meetings etc.
- Co-ordinate RABI approach to national initiatives such as Volunteers Week, Big Help Out and Volunteer Managers Day.
Volunteer recruitment and diversification
- Work with RABI communications team to develop website content and other promotional materials to raise the profile of RABI volunteering and attract new interest.
- Support and co-ordinate the development of opportunities to involve new volunteers – including events volunteers, volunteer ambassadors, ‘micro’ volunteering opportunities etc.
- Work closely with the wider team to support existing committees to attract new volunteers and evolve their approach to involve more people.
Volunteer learning and development
- Develop and lead the centralised onboarding of volunteers, including references and (where applicable) DBS and other checks to ensure appropriate compliance.
- Support the development of volunteer induction and training across the volunteer network.
Team support and development
- Maintain good working relationships with the volunteering team and wider teams, working cross-functionally to ensure collaboration across directorates.
- Work with the wider Volunteering team and other departments, to support and embed the volunteer journey and good practice in volunteer management.
- Work closely with the Operations / Support team to support local committees with questions and guidance linked to volunteering.
Planning, reporting and evaluation
- Contribute to future plans for the development of volunteering strategy.
- Produce reports and evaluation on key metrics to support volunteering development and to ensure RABI volunteering complies with all regulatory and legal requirements.
General
- Comply with RABI’s Health and Safety Policy, Data Protection Policy and to protect your own and others’ health, safety and welfare.

1 To hold a caseload of families who need early intervention support, providing those families with more intensive support including regular telephone calls, home visits, signposting and attending meetings and appointments with them
