Winston’s Wish is a digital first organisation leading the way in Digital Transformation across the Bereavement sector. This role is new and exciting and will play a vital part in helping Winston’s Wish turn up the dial across our high value fundraising.

The Head of High Value Fundraising is responsible for delivering and significantly growing income from Corporate Partnerships, Philanthropy and Trusts and Grants. Leading a team of committed fundraisers, you will develop a robust strategy that delivers mutually beneficial partnerships, outstanding supporter relationships and long-term sustainable income.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES  

Specific Duties 

Leadership

• To lead and inspire the high value team fostering a collaborative and high culture that delivers against income and objectives
• Provide clear and supportive leadership that motivates staff to achieve, develop and grow in their roles
• Undertake quarterly reviews for all direct reports

High Value Fundraising

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-value donors, ensuring effective solicitation, stewardship, and follow-up to secure significant contributions (six-figure gifts)
• Build and maintain a portfolio of Trust & Grants supporters. Responsible for researching, approaching and developing compelling applications with a focus on ensuring Trusts & Grants provide a long-term, diverse and sustainable income stream
• Lead the development and stewardship of the Philanthropy board to identify and secure transformational (6-7 figure) gifts and the development of the Business development Board to open opportunities with Corporate Partners
• Write and design a compelling case for support that is tailored to our High Value audiences
• Build a portfolio of corporate partners, including securing high-value, multi-year partnerships. You will work with the team to grow this income stream from prospecting, approaches, applications, pitches, stewardship and providing excellent account management
• Lead on planning and delivering successful high value cultivation events

• Represent Winston’s Wish at fundraising events and meetings with internal and external stakeholders

Strategy, Planning and reporting

• To create and implement a strategy including corporate partnerships, trusts & foundations and major donors
• Lead on developing and delivering effective stewardship journeys and cultivation plans
• Produce regular reports on fundraising activity, analysing performance against targets, and identifying areas for improvement and growth.
• Work with the Director of Income Generation and the Head of Mass Participation Fundraising to develop the annual budget, including leading on monthly performance reports and contributing to quarterly reforecasts and reporting against KPI’s and milestones
• Undertake research and make use of tools to identify potential High Value partners.

Collaboration

• Work closely with the Director of Income Generation, Head of Mass Participation Fundraising, SLT and other teams to maximise high value fundraising opportunities
• Work with the Marketing team to deliver urgent and compelling high value messages tailed for the different audiences
• Work with the Trustees to build networks and increase the reach of Winston’s Wish

 PERSON SPECIFICATION  

Essential 

• A proven track record in high-value fundraising, including securing 6-7 figure donations from high-net-worth individuals, trusts, foundations, and businesses
• Track record of converting cold prospects to planned gifts of 6-7 figures
• Demonstratable strong strategic planning skills and the ability to develop and implement long-term strategies to achieve fundraising targets and enhance the charity's mission
• Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience in overseeing multi-disciplinary teams. Essential experience includes team leadership, staff motivation, setting clear objectives, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Experience in effectively developing, managing and reporting complex income and expenditure budgets
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels and excellent written skills
• Experience of successfully engaging trustees and/or senior volunteer committees to drive philanthropic income.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
• Strong networking skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
• A proactive and results-driven mindset.

Desirable  

• Experience in managing, supporting, developing and motivating colleagues in a digital first organisation
• Experience of salesforce or other similar CRM system

· Ensure a diverse and impactful portfolio of fundraising products, fostering innovation and optimisation.

· Oversee the rollout and optimisation of our Gifts in Wills strategy, embedding legacy giving as a fundamental part of our fundraising culture.

· Work collaboratively with the Digital Team to maximise digital channels for supporter engagement and acquisition, and scaling evergreen digital ad campaigns to boost income.

· Lead major disaster public fundraising appeals.

· Strengthen engagement and growth across our global affiliate network, and help shape the future of international giving.

· Work with the Community & Events Team to enhance our relationship-driven approach, building inspiring supporter journeys and compelling propositions, and maximising our work across Rotary Clubs and Districts.

· Partner with the Head of Fundraising Operations to identify system improvements that enhance our audience understanding to drive income growth and supporter experience.

· Use data and insights to drive strategic decision-making and performance optimisation.

· Work closely with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships to identify opportunities to collaborate and to feed a pipeline of high-level support.

· Lead and inspire a talented team, setting clear objectives and fostering a culture of excellence.

· Manage financial processes, budgeting, and reporting with precision and accountability.

We are looking for a Highly experienced leader and senior practitioner who is flexible and interested in carrying out a diverse and rewarding role overseeing and leading on Safeguarding responsibilities and good practice and Customer Experience. You will work proactively with the Executive and senior management team in order to ensure excellent duty of care for Safeguarding and in promoting an open and learning culture. The Head of Safeguarding and Customer Experience will continue and develop the successful corporate senior level oversight of safeguarding and oversee our Serious Incident Register and procedure to Board level. The Head of Safeguarding and Customer Experience will oversee two small teams and be part of the Quality senior leadership team. You will be digitally literate, have excellent report writing and presentation skills and contribute to excellent social care governance processes with other senior colleagues and the executive team.

The post holder will be primarily based at our head office in Stockport, work pattern will be agreed based on the needs of the role. You will work in conjunction proactively with the senior management team in order to ensure excellent duty of care is delivered.  

The post holder will also be expected to deliver local skills based training sessions and coaching in order to improve management skills in managing and preventing safeguarding. Skills based work will include maintaining open and learning cultures, Duty of candour approaches and providing excellent customer experience.

We will be launching our new programme from September 2025, initially as a pilot working with families across Wandsworth, with aims to be able to expand and continue beyond this.

As our Deputy Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) you will be responsible for stock control and stock movement between our Donation Centre and Warehouse and organising deliveries for van drivers to take stock to our shops. This should all be done in accordance with all health and safety regulations. The sorting of donations quickly and efficiently is a fundamental part of this role, and it is expected that a significant proportion of working time will be spent doing this.

Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) you will support the management of the volunteer team; the organisation of the weekly logistics, communication to the retail teams regarding their deliveries, and ensuring that any requests for specific stock or returns are well managed.

Specifically, you will:

• Lead the team of employees and volunteers to quickly and efficiently sort donated stock.
• Be responsible for ensuring that donated stock is stored appropriately and safely.
• Identify if any specific donated stock suits the profile/demographics of specific shops in the retail network and ensure that those items are ringfenced and delivered in a timely manner to maximise income for the charity.
• Support the Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) in managing the daily running of the Donation Centre and warehouse, maintaining policies and procedures.
• Be responsible for planning and administering the weekly logistics, to ensure stock is collected and delivered to the network of shops, and to plan for collections from donors’ homes.
• Support the management of the volunteer rota on a weekly basis to ensure that both the Donation Centre and warehouse are fully operational during opening hours, and minimise lone working.
• Support the management of Donation Centre and warehouse volunteers: This will include recruiting, inducting, managing, motivating, and training to ensure a positive working environment.
• Play an active role as the Duty Manager for the building that you are in, in line with the expectations and requirements of the Business Continuity Plan, and run the site in line with brand standards, and the applicable charity policies and procedures.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To be trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal.
• To be ideally educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
• To have experience of managing people and volunteers including recruitment and development.
• To have previous experience in a warehouse or distribution role, ideally within a retail or charity environment.
• To have commercial awareness to help build and drive sales coupled with the determination and motivation to help build and drive our retail distribution network.
• To have knowledge and experience of effective stock rotation and management.
• To have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• To be highly organised with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.
• To be able to react to quickly changing dynamics and flexibility.
• To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and nurture talent.
• To be able to work on-site in our Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre, Hornbeam Park, Harrogate and Manse Lane, Knaresborough.

Job Purpose

As our Finance Manager, reporting to the Director of Finance and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and colleagues across the organisation, you will be a key person ensuring that our financial data is complete and accurate, overseeing reporting to our programme funders and our international network, and ensuring best practice in all aspects of financial management. About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

The Role

CoppaFeel! is looking for a Head of Public Fundraising who will be responsiblefor leading an emerging department at CoppaFeel! that holds both historic and new income streams. 

With an ambitious team, we need someone in this role to engage a diverse audience and raise vital funds to save lives.

You will oversee acquisition and stewardship, maximising income from audiences including individual giving, community, gaming, lottery, legacy and in-memory giving. You will lead in developing and delivering the public fundraising strategy. With a recent review of public fundraising at CoppaFeel!, you will be key in the support and development of unrestricted income, as we invest in new fundraising products, marketing campaigns and growth.

This department is important to our growth at CoppaFeel! and it is an exciting time to join as we are committed to investing in new income streams and need a dynamic, driven leader to drive them forward. You would be able to shape this department and role the way you see it moving forward at CoppaFeel!.

The Head of Public Fundraising will sit within the Fundraising team and report to the Director of Fundraising. You will have a team of 3, with 2 direct reports. 

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy

• Develop and deliver strategies to secure donations from individual donors, driving repeat gifts and income to meet your annual target and agreed KPI’s.
• Use your expertise in multi-channel fundraising including digital, direct mail, email and social media.
• Oversee and expand our fundraising initiatives including DIY fundraising, lottery, gaming, legacy, and fundraising appeals across all marketing channels to increase number of donors and donations and boosting average donation values.
• Understand and advocate for supporters, inspiring them to engage and donate, ensuring our thanking and engagement strategies encourage repeat giving.
• Develop new fundraising products ensuring our donor profiling analysis sits at the heart of new development.
• Ensure ROI and key performance metrics are used to make evidence based decisions.
• Work closely with Heads of Department to deliver the CoppaFeel! strategy.

Leadership

• Work within the leadership team to maintain the CoppaFeel! culture reflecting and championing the organisations values of positivity, creativity, community and impact.
• Work closely with all Heads of Departments to collaborate on projects and stay across the direction of all teams.
• Lead and inspire the Individual Giving Manager and Digital Fundraising Manager to meet their objectives and live the CoppaFeel! Values.

• Champion public fundraising across CoppaFeel! helping to develop a fundraising culture at the organisation.

Management

• Manage and support the Individual Giving Manager, Digital Fundraising Manager and oversee the Individual Giving Assistant, ensuring they have annual performance reviews, learning and development plans, KPI’s, and are supported to meet their fundraising targets.
• Responsible for the knowledge of regulation relevant to individual giving and public fundraising including GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Manage and oversee compelling fundraising communications and targeting external audiences using a range of direct response channels.
• Oversee the management of our new gaming fundraising strategy.
• Develop and oversee new fundraising products, including launching a new celebrity led fundraising initiative.
• Oversee and continue to develop our new legacy fundraising initiatives at CoppaFeel! ensuring we are stewarding legacy pledgers and legacy partners.
• Work with the Head of Finance on budgeting, reporting, re-forecasting income and ROI.
• Produce progress reports as required to the Director of Fundraising.

Administration 

• Develop dashboards with the Database Executive for ease of reporting KPI’s for Public Fundraising at CoppaFeel!.
• Ensure systems are kept up to date including Beacon CRM, and CoppaFeel! shared Google drive.
• Excellent record keeping at all times of public fundraising campaigns and communications on the CoppaFeel! shared Google drive.
• Keep diary and shared calendar up-to-date, shared communications across the organisation including desk booking systems, People HR, Weekly Round Up and contribute to team meetings.
• Ensure excellent financial records are kept including invoicing, contracts for suppliers, cheques and cash collections, and team expenses, following CoppaFeel! finance policies.

Job Title: Operations Manager

Reporting to: LandWorks Project Director.

LandWorks is a national award-winning project. It is a pioneering rehabilitation and resettlement charity that provides a supported route back into employment and the community for people coming out of prison or at risk of going to prison.

LandWorks is a small organisation with a strong determination to get the best outcomes for its beneficiaries and ultimately influence change in the Criminal Justice System (CJS). The Operations Manager is part of the Senior Leadership Team and will deputise in the Project Director’s absence.

This role might also suit someone currently in a position such as Head of Operations, Operations Director or Chief of Operations in a smaller organisation…They might already be working in the criminal justice or charity sector or have transferable experience in the public or private sectors

This role requires a belief in and commitment to LandWorks’ values. Alongside leadership and operational oversight, advocacy for the organisation's values and beneficiaries is vital.

The Operations Manager will be a real ‘people person’, playing a vital role in supporting and managing staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, maintaining operational efficiency and developing the role.

Job description:

General Management:

· Deputise in the Project Director’s absence or as required.

· Support the Project Director (PD) and Project Co-ordinator to manage and organise daily operations with trainees to help support a trainee’s journey at LandWorks.

· Monitor and take the ‘temperature’ of the site as it operates.

· Occasional out-of-hours trainee phone calls.

· Lead morning team meetings and facilitate afternoon de-brief meetings two days a week, and in the PD's absence.

· Act as a core part of the Senior Leadership Team, to facilitate the smooth running of daily tea breaks and communal lunches, to ensure that all trainees, staff and visitors take part and feel included.

Staff Management:

· Direct line management of the LandWorks enterprise team (that includes the wood workshop, market garden and pottery)

· Oversee HR processes, including recruitment, induction, training, and performance appraisals of the whole LandWorks team. 

· Provide team motivation and promote professional development, including identifying training needs and setting team goals, across the whole LandWorks team.

Policy and Compliance:

· Manage and ensure on site adherence to organisational policies and procedures.

· Take responsibility as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Health and Safety lead and Data Protection Officer.

· Support and assist with the mandatory review of organisational polices in consultation with the Charity Manager and PD.

· Managing and responding to risk.

· Inform and gather evidence for the LandWorks External Issues log.

Operational management

· Enhance operational processes for efficiency and compliance.

· Evaluate trainee referral processes and partnerships for improvement.

· Support developing and delivery of graduate support.

Organisational Culture:

· Promote LandWorks’ ethos and positive organisational culture.

· Represent LandWorks at internal and external events.

Experience and Knowledge

You will be able to demonstrate:

· An ability to manage diverse teams and contribute to staff development and organisational culture.

· A commitment to working with vulnerable people, particularly those with complex needs, with a strong understanding of the challenges individuals face reintegrating back into the community.

· Ability to hold clear boundaries.

· Experience in utilising data to monitor and ensure successful performance in achieving organisational goals.

· Experience of health and safety, safeguarding, data protection and managing risk.

· Experience of developing and managing partnerships.

· An understanding of, or a willingness to learn about the complexities of working within the Criminal Justice System.
