Key duties:

• Oversee and implement internal communication strategies for employees, volunteers, members, trustees, and other key stakeholders
• Manage news flow and scheduling, collaborating with the People Team and serving as the main contact for internal communications
• Maintain and provide guidance on factsheets and toolkits to support staff in delivering internal news
• Create, edit, and distribute content across internal communication channels, including the intranet and email newsletters, ensuring consistency across all platforms and departments
• Facilitate two-way communication between staff and the Senior Leadership Team, and advise the SLT on organisational developments
• Coordinate with consultants and departments to manage internal communication responses to crises that may affect the charity's reputation
• Oversee the production of internal communication materials by managing external suppliers
• Track, analyse, and report on the performance of internal communications efforts
• Adhere to organisational policies on Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Risk Management, participate in training, and undertake additional tasks as requested by the line manager

Ideal candidate profile:

• Experience in a Communications role within the Charity or Not-For-Profit sector
• Proficient in Office 365 with strong communication planning, monitoring, and reporting skills
• Skilled in constructing and analysing surveys, with excellent communication abilities across various mediums
• Proven experience in coordinating internal communications, with strong people skills and the ability to integrate quickly with new teams

• Be part of a team who are passionate about fundraising compliance and training.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• You have knowledge of the Fundraising Code of Practice and how it applies to face-to-face fundraising 
• Some experience of training techniques which will work across different training needs and styles of learning

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Governance teams of two local Devon hospices. Hospiscare, the hospice for Exeter, Mid and East Devon, and St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, are jointly recruiting for a Data Protection Officer.

In this role you’ll play an important part in safeguarding both organisations’ information.  Your primary focus will be ensuring compliance with information management legislation and policies, assessing risks and implementing effective controls.  You’ll have technical understanding of data protection legislation, together with in-depth knowledge of cyber security principles and risk management.

You’ll be working with the local church to manage the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. Over the last 20 years, Spear has supported more than 10,000 young people across the UK with the work-ready skills and mindset they need to succeed in employment, no matter the challenges they face. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme
• Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room
• Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively
• Handling safeguarding
• Taking a lead on rating the work readiness of the trainees and making sure data is inputted and used correctly on salesforce
• Tracking trainee progress on the dashboards
• Liaising with volunteers for key programme engagement events such as mock interviews and external panels. Leading on briefings and communications with these volunteers

Delivery of Spear Career [20%]

• Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees

Training the Graduate Coach [10%]

• Contributing towards the training and developing of the Graduate Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback

Trainee recruitment [10%]

• Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics

Continuous professional development

• Continually engaging in professional development, including being part of Resurgo’s wider coaching programmes and possibly supporting on leading internal training such as Grad Coach Training

Active participation in and support for church team and mission

• As the Spear programme is run in partnership with a local church partner, you will establish a strong personal connection with the church to develop the engagement and backing of church members and help build a strong network of supporters for the Spear programme. What the job involves

We’re looking for an Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our Events and Community Team. A high performing team who are driven to maximise opportunities, we aim to reach ambitious targets and provide an excellent supporter experience.

Our team raises funds through a range of activities including:

· our own events (e.g. March for Men)

· virtual products (e.g. The Month Series)

· third party events (e.g. London Marathon)

· Golf Days

· helping community fundraisers who organise their own activity

You’ll be our first point of contact for our fundraisers. You'll provide admin and support through telephone, email, and social media channels. You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey you'll help motivate during challenges, offer fundraising advice and ensure thanks at the end of a first-class experience. Whilst each Coordinator has a primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also work across teams to support where needed during busy periods of activity.

This role works with data through maintaining our Raiser’s Edge database. You'll also update records on JustGiving and Facebook Fundraising. This requires accuracy and working under the requirements of GDPR.

You’ll also work with our Communications teams. This supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. This helps to raise the profile of our fundraising products, as well as prostate cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

You’ll have the drive and determination to provide crucial support to our sector-leading programme of events which generated over £10.3m of gross income in 2022-23. We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

Key responsibilities

• Support our key marketing projects including gift membership, private site, telemarketing, our annual member survey and renewal journey.
• Support the distribution and creation of promotional resources, regularly checking stock levels, and re-ordering or refreshing materials as needed, liaising with external suppliers such as print or mailing houses and delivering to budgets and deadline.
• Support the creation of e-communications, including emails to prospective members. This may include proofing content, sourcing images, checking data, building emails and reviewing content requests with support from the team.
• Provide regular impact communications and surprise and delight moments to our suppliers and fundraisers acting on our behalf
• Source inspirational stories from our walking groups and volunteers, to help support growth of our membership community. 
• Check data from our Data Team and from our suppliers to ensure it is accurate and in the right format. Provide data as needed to suppliers.
• Co-ordinate across teams to ensure data is provided in a timely fashion
• Check data is lasered correctly on printed materials, raising any concerns appropriately with suppliers
• Coordinate call listening for our core calling programmes, liaising with our volunteers and providing summary of feedback to our suppliers.
• Handle inbound enquiries coming into the team, take simple actions from these enquiries, or escalate as appropriate
• Save relevant reports, track performance and report to the Head of Membership and Supporter Experience anything notable
• Send relevant reports and feedback to suppliers
• Update a weekly tracker sheet of performance across all channels
• Provide additional support as required in responding to Facebook comments on our acquisition adverts

Chance to Shine is an independent children’s charity. We change young people’s lives through cricket giving them the opportunity to play, learn and develop through the sport. We keep them physically active, teach them vital skills like teamwork, communication and leadership. And above all, they have fun.

Since 2005 our Chance to Shine Schools programme has helped reverse the decline of cricket in state schools with millions of boys and girls in over 13,000 state schools playing and learning through cricket. Chance to Shine Street supports young people in under-served communities to access and benefit from cricket in a free, inclusive, fun and fast-paced tape ball environment.

Purpose of the Role

A key part of Chance to Shine’s Communications department, this role will have help to drive awareness of the charity – communicating our mission, vision and messages to key audiences.

Principal Responsibilities

The Communications Officer will support include the following areas:

• To offer support on a range of diverse projects and events to increase the profile and awareness of Chance to Shine
• To help with the planning, execution and analysis of communications and marketing campaigns throughout the year
• To help manage the Chance to Shine brand internally and externally – including both written and visual brand guidelines
• Supporting the Director of Communications and Digital and the Fundraising team with the activation of corporate and funding partners
• Assisting with media liaison and monitoring including but not limited to:

Ø  Managing the media contacts database

Ø  Monitoring and organising media coverage

Ø  Pitching stories to local print, online and broadcast media

Ø  Managing relationships with designated media outlets

•  To lead the charity’s application process for internal and external awards
• To help develop the Chance to Shine ambassador scheme; maintaining relationships and organising visits
• Supporting the Director of Communications and Digital in the production of key publications and documentation
• Support public affairs activities, including drafting letters, preparing lobbying documents, sharing information, and raising awareness of the charity

ROLE SUMMARY

This role will report to the Senior Delivery Project Manager responsible for the ongoing development of the Alumni programme. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to guide our Alumni programme development. You will be responsible for organising events and opportunities for Alumni, such as our annual Professional Development Courses, in addition to communicating with both the Alumni group and the wider team about the programme and opportunities within it. You will also support tracking and reporting the impact of our work with Alumni to different stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to participate in the fast-paced and rewarding Future Charities Leaders Programme (FCLP) where no two days are the same, where you can focus on your professional development through the FCLP rotations (20% of your time), designed to build your charity management skills.

GRADUATE SCHEME SUMMARY

Being an Alumni Coordinator is the first step on upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP). The FCLP provides you with a unique opportunity to:

• Work directly with our Alumni building their careers and exploring opportunities across different sectors, as well as our partner organisations who support them (4 days per week), while also;

• Gain exposure to various aspects of charity management through 6-month rotations (1 day per week).

• Receive training in Leadership throughout, and have the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in Leadership and Management after 18 months on the programme (in place of rotations). 

The FCLP is designed either for graduates from any university, academic subject and background - or for those with experience in the corporate world who are looking for a career change and experience in the charity sector. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

You will contribute to upReach's mission, by leading upReach’s Alumni Programme, including events and communications, supporting young professionals from lower socio-economic backgrounds  to continue to develop the key skills necessary for progression in the workplace.

You will report directly to the Senior Delivery Project Manager, who will be on hand to provide guidance and support throughout, and who you will have regular check-ins with on a weekly basis.

Key responsibilities include:

1) ENGAGING ALUMNI

Once a student has graduated from university, and subsequently upReach’s core programmes, you will encourage them to engage with a range of activities. You will be responsible for:

• Developing content for our Alumni Platform and drive the use of the platform amongst the Alumni group, maximising the number that update their details, sign up for events and support upReach in a variety of ways.

• Lead on communication about the programme, both with the Alumni group and with the team and other stakeholders.  This includes a monthly Alumni newsletter, whatsapp and social media posts. 

• Lead on the organisation and further development of the Alumni Ambassador Board, including working alongside the Senior Delivery Project Manager to coordinate the logistics of the group, from sending invitations and reminders, as well as organising content.

2) PARTNERSHIPS & EVENTS Our partners make our support possible, and you will gain hands-on experience developing strong relationships with employer partners. The size and complexity of each varies, but you may typically oversee 1-2 large partnerships or 3-4 smaller ones. This includes:

• Being a partner’s first point of contact, and participating in update meetings - for example, updating a funder on Alumni engagement at an event.

• Organising Alumni events (virtual and/or in person): This includes promoting them to Alumni, overseeing logistics, and gathering feedback. 

• Organising Alumni Professional Development Courses (virtual and/or in person). The Professional Development Courses typically involves 5 events focussed on skills necessary to ‘get on, after getting in’. You will be responsible for promoting them to Alumni, overseeing logistics, and gathering feedback. 

• Support the delivery of additional events where Alumni are included, including funding or external engagement events

• Support End of Year Reviews with partners, including data analysis on Alumni engagement and successes - with the aim of ensuring partners renew their agreements.

3) DEVELOP OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALUMNI TO GIVE BACK upReach Alumni are often interested in giving back to upReach after graduation. You will be responsible for:

• Coordinating Alumni volunteering opportunities, including keeping an up to date register of Alumni volunteers and opportunities for them to engage in.

• Collaborating with different teams across upReach, including:

  • External events: coordinating Alumni speakers and volunteers

  • Fundraising: collaborating on fundraising campaigns, specifically targeting Alumni

  • Programmes team: collaborating with different teams across the Associate-facing programmes team, ensuring they are able to access Alumni volunteers for Associate-facing events

4) ROTATIONS IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF CHARITY MANAGEMENT As part of the FCLP programme, you will work on rotational projects designed to give you a greater exposure and understanding of the different areas of charity management. 

You will have a six month rotation in each of the following areas during your first 18 months on the programme: (1) Fundraising, Partnerships and Comms, (2) Operations and Strategy (3) Project and Product Management.

• Each week you will work on projects related to your current rotation (7.5 hours per week). These projects will be agreed with your Rotation Manager, in line with the learning objectives for each rotation.

5) LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

During your initial 18 months on the programme, you will receive training every six weeks on different soft skills within Leadership through an external training provider. This training will take place through a mixture of online and face to face sessions. Training sessions will include: 

• Communication

• Understanding different working styles

• Conflict Management

• Emotional Intelligence

6) WIDER ORGANISATIONAL SUPPORT PCs play their part in helping upReach achieve broader organisational objectives. As a key contact point with Alumni and partners, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness of wider projects. Examples include: encouraging Alumni to make nominations to upReach’s Student Social Mobility Awards; and supporting our HR team with assessing applications to future cohorts of the FCLP.

Collaboration is a key part of upReach’s culture, and as a PC you’ll have the opportunity to work together with a range of different teams across our organisation, including: 

• Fundraising and Events - Who will work with you to spread the word about how Alumni can ‘give back’ to upReach

Job Title: Experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IOs) for Stage 2 Complaints (This role sits within our Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) service)

Hours: Variable, according to demand for services/caseload and role in investigation

Salary: £25.25 per hour (50% professional rate for travel plus expenses)

Location: Associate Independent Investigating Officers for Complaints primarily work from home. Some travel may be required as part of an investigation – location will vary according to the referral received from the Local Authority. About the Role

We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989.

The IO will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.

The Job Description document sets out the expectations for an Associate Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) who is approved by Coram Voice. IPCs are independent, freelance and responsible for their own work. Nevertheless, IPCs are accountable to the organisation for their professional standards and are expected to comply with Coram Voice Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines.

Please Note: the nature of associate work means that we cannot guarantee a regular amount of work, and complaints will be allocated dependent on the associate’s availability, location and the needs and demands of the individual case.
