The Director of Grants and Impact will lead the strategy, execution and impact of Suffolk Community Foundation’s grant making programmes and manage the grants team. The Director will ensure that the Foundation captures and responds to the evolving voice of the VCFSE sector and connects with a diverse audience of organisations and communities.
With your understanding of the sector and communities in Suffolk and as an ambassador for the Foundation, you will develop crucial relationships with stakeholders including but not limited to the voluntary, community and faith sector, public agencies and grant making trusts and foundations.
Working with the Chief Executive you will help to position the Foundation as a trusted grant making partner and effective funder, attracting new income and delivering effective grant programmes.
This is an important time for the Foundation as we respond to the increasing need in the sector, with a plan to maximise our impact by creating themed funds and by adopting a coproduction approach to our grant programmes.

Objectives and Deliverables for the role:
- Lead the development and prioritisation of our key product hypotheses and build out 3-year development plan scenarios for Story Explorers (our brand new subscription offer) and prioritised primary school offers (tbc) including (not exhaustive) our optimal subscription model, online support model for parents/carers and practitioners, parent/carer push notifications, B2B customer journey.
- Work with our research and impact team to establish robust design learning approach and methodology that supports us to make rapid progress against hypothesis testing and ensure our Story Explorers offer has maximum impact with families.
- Work closely with our supply chain, IT, digital and books teams to scope feasibility and define key product parameters and design requirements early in the development process.
- Create excellent documentation including concept boards and low fidelity prototypes, process maps, development roadmap, empathy maps, ecosystem maps and value proposition canvas’ to support ongoing development to support the development of our new offers.
- Establish project group, structures and ways of working to support ongoing offer development and establish the right level of governance for development work.
- Coach and support more junior designers/line reports to nurture BookTrust’s in-house service design capability.

Prostate Cancer Research exists to honour the men and families who have been through things no family should have to go through, and to work for a future where no one needs to fear a prostate cancer diagnosis.
We are always working to provide resources to help, support and empower patients. Giving them the information they need to make better choices about their treatment, while working to identify and target specific unmet needs in the prostate cancer ecosystem, such as racial inequality and bone metastasis.
Our dedicated staff team is the key to our success, expanding the amount of research that we fund five times over in four years. PCR has been shortlisted for an Impact Prize and won the Change Project of the year award in 2023.
It’s been a successful couple of years for PCR’s Events & Community team with good results across the portfolio, raising over £1.4m (against a target of £800k) in 2023-24. Now’s an exciting time as we’ve recently expanded the team, whilst refreshing our structure and roles to make priorities clear and ensure the whole team can do their best work – contributing to PCR’s lifesaving mission, developing in their careers and enjoying their jobs within our ambitious and supportive team.
We are now recruiting for a new Events & Community Executive to join the frontline of our fundraising stewardship, so strong relationship-building skills and a love of creating great supporter experiences are essential.
