Support Coordinator

Here at Stroke Association, we’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in the Salford area.

This is an exciting home based opportunity working with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11212 Stroke Association Support Coordinator (two posts)

Location: Home-based, Bury. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings).

Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week (flexible working available)

Salary: Circa £21,391 per annum

Contract: Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

A key part of the role will be to recruit, train and manage a team of volunteers, to support service users and the delivery of the service.

The Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:

· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

· Provide personalised information, advice and support.

· Support clients to make informed lifestyle changes that will help them to prevent further strokes.

· Be accountable for volunteers, so experience of recruiting, training and managing volunteers would be an advantage.

About You

· A caring profession, ideally with experience in supporting people with disabilities.

· Setting up and running support groups.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

Safe Passage International (SPI) is recruiting an Arrivals and Social Support Worker to support to continuing and sustainable growth in our ground-breaking work to ensure that safe routes to sanctuary exist for all people seeking asylum, and that the young people and families we work with have dignity and safety on arrival.

This Arrivals and Social Support Worker will work with young people and families to support them in their reunification and arrival to the UK. This legal casework is facilitated by our UK Legal Team and covers a range of geographic regions inside and outside of Europe, including responding to emerging crises such as working to support people fleeing Afghanistan, Ukraine, Sudan and Palestine.

Reunification and resettlement is a difficult process. This role will involve conducting pre-arrival needs assessments, preparing the family for the reunification, and supporting them after they arrive in the UK. The Arrivals and Social Support Worker will also help young people and families transition into their new life, by supporting them with the practical and emotional aspects of resettling in the UK. You will work with the family and professionals and act as a bridge into longer term services and support. This role will also provide social support on a case-by-case basis for others in vulnerable situations, including family members pre-arrival, as well as to those on our Young Leaders Programme. This is a challenging and extremely rewarding role for candidates with a good understanding of the challenges young people and refugees face on arrival to the UK.

Experience in a similar role would be welcome, but this could also be your first paid position in the charity sector, or you could be returning to work after time out. Do you wish to be part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team and support our Farming community? RABI, the leading UK farming charity, are seeking a fundraiser with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in generating income from trusts and foundations. You must be a great communicator with experience in prospect research, writing funding proposals and developing relationships with trust representatives. This is an exciting time to join RABI as we develop a strategy aimed at raising seven-figure sums in 3-4 years to support the farming community.

As part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team, your main duties will be to research trust and foundations, create and send applications and steward relationship with current and future charitable trusts. As part of the team, you will also be involved in generating funds across various other income streams.

Key responsibilities:

• Research and identify charitable trusts which may provide future financial support to RABI whilst maximising the potential for giving from trusts with which the Charity already has a relationship.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key trust representatives.
• Prepare, submit and monitor applications to charitable trusts including the maintenance of records of applications, grant receipts and successful/failed submissions. Ensure Trusts are thanked for donations in timely fashion.
• Updating the CRM system to ensure activities, communications, donations and other important details are accurately recorded and maintained.

Position

This role is part of a small team that forms the secretariat for two vibrant, dynamic networks of mission-driven asset owners: the Charities Responsible Investment Network (CRIN) and the Responsible Investment Network – Universities (RINU). We support members to align their investments with their social and environmental missions and values through a tailored programme of networking, advocacy and educational activities. The networks are unique spaces, enabling members to collaborate, share best practice and be leaders at the cutting edge of thinking around what it means to be a responsible investor.

You will make a significant contribution to our team by supporting the design and delivery of our annual workplan for CRIN and RINU and engaging members to participate in network activities. You will be key to ensuring the smooth running of the secretariat, including monitoring and evaluation to ensure that our work is as impactful as possible.

The secretariat sits in ShareAction’s Investor Engagement team, which engages with a range of actors to develop and drive up standards of responsible investment. You will work closely with the Senior Engagement Manager (Asset Owner Networks), who manages the work of the networks, and with the Senior Research Manager (Investors), who supports members to leverage research and analysis, and engage with their financial service providers, such as asset managers and consultants.

In this fast-paced role, on a day-to-day basis, you might be:

• Designing new projects (such as an educational workshop or advocacy initiative) for our annual workplan of activities.
• Responding to enquiries from and holding meetings with members or prospective members (foundations, trusts, operational charities, universities and colleges).
• Organising quarterly member meetings, as well as other workshops on topics such as participatory decision-making in investment, artificial intelligence and responsible investment, or divestment and the arms trade (scheduling, agenda drafting, note taking, facilitating discussions and coordinating follow-up actions).
• Writing case studies or articles to showcase the cutting-edge work of members.
• Conducting small research tasks and drafting discussion papers to inform members of responsible investment approaches and best practice.
• Sending emails to members informing them of relevant events, news and research.
• Designing and sending surveys to collect data on members and their impacts.
• Updating records, including information on members and their investments, their participation in network activities, and their payment of invoices.

What you’ll bring to the team

We’re looking for someone with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll be confident in managing projects and events and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, working across multiple different projects. You’ll be enthusiastic about movement building and working collaboratively as part of a network and able to develop good relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll have a proven ability to communicate well with a variety of different audiences.

While we hope we’ll find someone with the majority of the skills and experience on the person specification, we’re really keen to hear from you even if you don’t have them all. This is a varied role, and we’re looking for someone willing to get stuck in and learn: you’ll have the opportunity to develop and hone skills in network building, relationship management, project management and research.

We’re not looking for someone from a specific sector: you may have some experience in the charity or university sector, in environmental and/or social justice campaigning, or working on corporate or financial sector standards. You may be at an early stage in your career or someone with more experience who is looking for a change. Most importantly, you’ll have a real passion to make a positive difference for people and planet and be excited to shape the work of two networks at the cutting edge of thinking around what it means to be a responsible investor.

We are currently formalising our hybrid working policy; however, there is an expectation that you will be able to attend the London office or meetings at least four times a month. You will be required to supervise a team that provides holistic packages of support to adult service users, empowering them to move through the integrated recovery-oriented substance misuse service, increasing opportunities for service users to achieve sustainable treatment outcomes within Northallerton and its surrounding areas.  As directed by the Project Manager, the Lead Practitioner will be an integral member of this dynamic multi agency service.

Skills and Qualifications

• A relevant level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or higher.
• Experience supervising a team.
• An understanding of and ability to implement evidenced based interventions, including brief interventions MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP.
• Experience of working with drug/alcohol users and delivering 1-2-1 and group evidence based interventions.
• Experience of completing service user assessments including comprehensive risk assessments.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required for this role.

About the role

As the new Community and Events Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing The Passage's Community Fundraising strategy, designed to inspire and engage both existing and new supporters, ultimately building a stable and sustainable income pipeline.

Main duties

• Help deliver the teams’ existing events and community fundraising products, growing net income and actively seeking new opportunities for expansion.
