The Director of Operations will be a key member of our leadership team, enabling our growth through strategic and structural operational planning, implementation and delivery, ensuring that we realise our vision across our Resourcing Church network.
The successful candidate will be joining a growing church community at an exciting juncture in our history as we prepare to celebrate our 150th anniversary. Our church is thriving, with a large, diverse, and committed congregation, which reflects our community in Brixton, Camberwell and Kennington. We are a place of welcome and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people, and we are a training parish, with many ordinands, curates and musicians spending time here in recent years.
We have a thriving music programme with over 100 children singing in three choirs weekly, and we are active in our service to the community. We have two church schools, St Gabriel’s College and St John the Divine Primary School, and we are involved in a wide range of community and social action programmes from London Citizens to the Robes homeless shelter.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Vicar of St John the Divine to ensure the strategic priorities of the St John the Divine Resourcing Church network – currently St John the Divine Kennington, St Faith’s North Dulwich, and the Korean congregation at St James’ Malden – are delivered. They will also support our wider leadership team, including clergy, and lay leaders.
As our own network and congregations grow, we anticipate that there will be opportunity for the post-holder to grow the remit of the role and develop their career within the position.
Develop strategy, shape programmes, build partnerships, manage staff , support volunteers, raise funds: -all part of the director's role leading the organisation's efforts to improve the lives and opportunities of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants across Oxfordshire.
Our director retires in May after five succesful years and we seek a dynamic and experienced leader to sustain, supportand refresh the organisation's work.
Based in Oxford and splitting time between office, home and places where we work, the new director will lead a team of about 30 staff and 200 volunteers delivering a wide range of programmes meeting the needs of new arrivals, longer term refugees, adults and children.
The new director will have strong all- round leadership experience, a supportive andcollegiate management style and knowledge of refugee related issues.

About the Role
We are now recruiting for an experienced Director of Operations to play a crucial role in guiding our driven and committed team as we shift our culture and infrastructure, upholding our vision, mission, principles, and values.
The post holder will work with colleagues to develop, implement and review Hibiscus’s strategy and plans, particularly as they impact our operating and finance models. They will be responsible for developing and monitoring the annual business plan, reporting progress and providing reliable structural, financial and people management. They will support the CEO in building and instilling a sense of unity and purpose into the work of the organisation, and represent the operational work to the Board. They will be responsible for the efficient running of operations and central functions, conducting risk assessments, monitoring performance and reviewing procedures, with a particular focus on overseeing the effective financial management of the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning and producing financial budgets for the organisation, alongside monitoring projects from start to finish, preparing costings for funding applications, agreeing contracts and grant terms, monitoring deliverables and co-ordinating timely reporting. They will oversee the production of quarterly management accounts and yearly finance audits, and communicate the financial landscape of the organisation to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board. The Director of Operations will play a key role in risk and compliance, with a focus on data, safeguarding, policies and procedures, and legal and statutory requirements. They will work to increase the effectiveness of our operations, whilst supporting and contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organisation. A key element of the role will be to work to integrate our workplace culture into HR processes and procedures, modelling a fair and open management approach that ensures trusted relationships are embedded throughout the organisation.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director to join RedR and its Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to oversee the efficient and effective functioning of our organisation's key operational areas, including Operations, People Management, Finance, Security and Compliance. The Associate Director will play a pivotal role as part of the SLT in ensuring the smooth implementation of our humanitarian programmes while upholding the highest standards of excellence, accountability, integrity, collaboration and lifelong learning.
You will have a deep understanding of how to deliver programmes in a humanitarian context in a safe, secure and compliant manner. You will enhance delivery through standard operating procedures across the organisation and lead by doing.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management
You will lead a finance team of 2 (both part-time), responsible for excellent financial management, controls, reporting, budgeting, and auditing (both internal and external) including:
- Maintaining up-to-date financial records, including processing invoices, payments, and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, managing cashflow.
- Oversee payroll processing and reimbursement procedures.
- Analysis of financial data and preparation of reports for leadership review.
- Set standards for programme staff on financial budgeting and reporting
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

- Provide administrative support to the Operations, IT functions of the organisation.

Job Purpose
The Operations Director is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing ELBA's operational functions to maximise community impact and strengthen corporate partnerships. Role Description
The Director of Programmes is responsible for providing strategic and creative leadership to develop high quality, effective and impactful programmes and products that reflect and meet the needs of the social sector.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and delivery of leadership and management programmes, ensuring that interventions are innovative, transformational and in alignment with Clore Social’s capabilities framework and model. This will include curriculum and module design, utilising own expertise and working in partnership with others to develop learning materials.
- Preparation for, and some facilitation of, peer learning, residentials and other programme events.
- Oversee the recruitment, moderation and engagement of Clore Social programme participants.
- Build and maintain a team of diverse and high quality consultants to deliver our programmes. This includes managing relationships and agreements with them and ensuring they deliver to Clore Social values and standards.
- Oversee the evaluation of the programme outcomes and impact and closely monitor feedback and other data in order to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the CEO and the Director of Development on Clore Social’s Organisational Learning and Development offer, bringing expertise to develop bespoke packages that meet the individual needs of organisations within social purpose organisations and businesses.
- Contribute to the communications of Clore Social and be a thought leader on social sector leadership issues.
- Support and lead, where appropriate, relationships with key stakeholders, including existing and potential funding partners.

Key relationships
- The Director of Programmes will be part of our small, focused team of eight. You will work collaboratively across the team and, as a member of the senior leadership team, provide visible leadership within the organisation.

- The Director of Programmes leads the Programmes staff team. This will include line managing three members of staff: the Head of Programmes, the Programmes and Operations Administrator and Racial Equity Programme Lead.

Hours and place of work
This is a full-time role to be fulfilled over a 35-hour week, within core working hours (Mon-Fri, 10am–4pm UK time), with flexibility as required.
This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our shared office space in London (Better Space, 127 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3DA), the travel costs of which must be covered by the individual. We are open to discussing this arrangement further to accommodate individual needs and preferences.
Further UK travel will be required on occasion, the costs of which would be covered by Clore Social Leadership.
Terms, pay and benefits
- This is a permanent contract.
- Salary for this role will be £55,000-£60,000 p/a.
- The post holder is entitled to 25 days of annual leave, in addition to UK statutory holidays.
- The office is closed for one week during the winter festive period (25-31 December), providing an additional three days of annual leave in addition to the above allocation.
- You have the option to join our contributory pension scheme. The employer's contribution is 3% with a minimum employee contribution of 5%.

About the role
This senior role will provide financial and operational leadership and management for CCLC, particularly focussed on the Legal Practice Unit and the Policy and Practice Change team. Through systematic and efficient management, the post holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability.
The role will oversee the smooth running of the London and Colchester offices through oversight and line management of finance, operations and administrative staff. The post holder will support the Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children's Rights and department heads in the successful running of our services. Where appropriate they will deputise for the Managing Director on financial, operational and compliance matters.
Managing a small finance team, the role will hold primary responsibility for specialist financial functions within CCLC, particularly legal aid billing. The role would suit a highly organised and efficient business support professional with experience of financial management within the legal or charity sector. In particular, candidates with experience of legal billing and more specifically, civil legal aid billing, are welcomed. However, we recognise that this is a highly specialised and niche field. As such, candidates with broad operational and financial management experience but a strong aptitude for processing large amounts of data, developing and managing spreadsheets and improving organisational systems will be considered.
This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the finance and operations team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period (to be negotiated with the successful candidate).The finance team are split between the London and Colchester offices and the post holder should expect some travel.

Key Relationships
· The Operations Director will report to the Chief Executive.

Finance
- Ensure SCF’s policies, systems and processes support robust and efficient management of our finances.

- Project manage the production of annual budget and cashflow forecasts and 3-year business plan forecasts.
- Ensure financial management policies and procedures are in place and that management and annual accounts (including Trustee Annual Report) are produced accurately and on time.
- Work closely with Philanthropy & Marketing and Programmes Teams to ensure the Foundation has accurate up to date financial information.
- Oversee the annual audit process and lead for the Executive on the appointment of auditors as necessary.
- Work with the Senior Finance Manger to keep under review the charity’s payroll, accounts, finance, and other systems to ensure they are fit for purpose and value for money.
- Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of a procurement and contract management system and ensuring a regular process of review of contracts and licences across all departments.
Governance
- Ensure secretariat support is provided to the Board and Finance & Governance Committee, managing production and distribution of agendas and papers, overseeing the organisation of meeting rooms, and ensuring accurate minutes are taken and produced timely.

In this role, you will report directly to the Associate Director of Finance & Operations and contribute to the efficient oversight of our operational and administrative functions on a daily basis. JOB DESCRIPTION
MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide administrative support to the Operations, IT, HR and Security Management functions of the organisation, supporting a positive and healthy working culture across the organisation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the Operations, IT, HR and Security Management functions.
- Support our organisational systems, from Office 365 to Salesforce, ensuring the organisation becomes more efficient and effective in how it works.
- Maintain accurate operational records using organisational systems and support colleagues on maintaining clear and updated records, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Support the update, roll-out and dissemination of our organisational policies and procedures.
- Support a range of office, legal and administrative tasks as necessary, coordinating suppliers, contracts and organisational subscriptions.
- Act as first port of call for all external communications, including general email, post and telephone enquiries, as well as communication with external suppliers, in a timely and professional manner.
- Leads the logistics & IT arrangements of internal meetings (All Hands Meetings, Quarterly Team meetings, Board meetings, and others) under guidance.
- Tracks and reports on operational & CEO-related expenditures under guidance.
- Supports in any other task as required by their line manager, CEO or board members.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
- Administrative skills – Systematic and efficient administrative skills, including an ability to prioritise, manage and complete a variety of tasks against multiple deadlines with attention to detail to the highest quality and within deadlines, and track information and progress.
- Prioritisation & Deadline Management: Proficiently prioritising tasks and managing deadlines to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Use of technology – familiarity with Microsoft Office package, especially SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel and Power Point;
- Work planning – Effective workload management skills and ability to use initiative to solve problems. Ability to track the progress of deliverables and activities and flag up underperformance.
- Team player – Experience of working successfully within a team environment and of building relationships with various teams.
- Communication – Good interpersonal communication skills and self-awareness, able to communicate with colleagues and other stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds. Excellent writing skills.
- Attention to Detail- Exceptional attention to detail encompassing meticulous oversight of documentation, compliance, and resource management to ensure operational precision, efficiency, and proactive problem-solving.
DESIRABLE
- Understanding of the humanitarian sector – General understanding of humanitarian practices and principles, and a demonstrated commitment to our humanitarian mission and values.
- Analytical Skills – Analytical skills with the ability to accurately record and extract data.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems, knowledge of MS Planner or similar project management systems;
- Experience in event planning and management.

We are an independent, registered charity dedicated to helping LSE students make the most of their time at University. We are governed and managed separately from the University, but work closely with them to help deliver the best for our students.
We’ve been part of LSE since 1897, and all LSE students automatically become LSESU members when they enroll. Our total income is c.£4.2m per year, which comes partly from a block grant from the University, and partly from commercial activities which generate extra revenue.

JOB PURPOSE
The Director of Commercial and Union Operations is responsible for the strategic direction and effective operational management of the commercial services and facilities which includes venues, bars, catering, events, and the fitness centre.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership team the Director of Commercial Union Operations will lead the development of commercial services to deliver exceptional services to our customers and members that maximises profitability.

The Head of Finance Operations, reporting to the Director of Finance, will ensure the provision of consistent, robust and accurate financial data to the organisation on a timely basis. In addition, you will provide effective leadership of the financial accounting and payroll teams and be responsible for the integrity of the organisation’s financial data.
The role holder will lead the preparation of the annual accounts and will be the primary liaison point with the external auditors. You will maintain robust financial controls, high standards of delivery service and regulatory compliance across the finance function.
Role Requirements:
Oversight of the Financial accounting and payroll functions with responsibility for ensuring delivery of service, compliance, and accurate financial data.
- Proactive leadership across the Financial Accounting and Payroll teams.
- Performance manage the team and the processes to achieve these targets.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the Financial Operations team and the Charity’s other directorates.
- Maintain and improve a system of robust financial controls, underpinned by appropriate financial policies and procedures, to ensure that effective working practices are embedded, and that the organisation is protected from fraud and error.
- Oversee the continued process improvement initiative working across Finance and linking with the other directorates
- Prepare and monitor the cash flow of the organisation, ensuring that working capital is managed effectively and surplus funds are invested in conjunction with the investment committee.
- Arrange and conduct financial training for budget holders to enable them to fulfil their responsibilities in relation to financial management.
- Responsible for the statutory audit of the charity's Trustees' Report & Accounts in accordance with current legislation and accounting standards.
- Undertake the correct calculation and submission of all necessary tax returns including quarterly VAT returns
- Oversee the payroll team to ensure correct calculation and payment of all payroll and pension.
- To undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

- Lead the Financial accounting and Payroll teams in the provision of high-quality services and adherence to professional quality standards.
- Ensure that the teams are fit for purpose and up to date with best practice working methods.
