The purpose of this role is to support the Digital Communications Manager in promoting, strengthening and protecting the reputation of the Academy by delivering and evaluating short- and long-term digital campaigns across key communications channels that engage and influence new and existing audiences.

You will achieve this by creating high-quality, engaging written and visual content that is on brand and optimised for different audiences and digital channels used by the Academy including social media channels (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube and Bluesky), email, and our website. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, including influential UK and international medical researchers as well as patients, carers and the public, to help shape our work. 

You will strive for excellence to develop an understanding of the Academy’s audiences and an ability to tell impactful stories in a compelling way. You will be agile in how you work on multiple long- and short-term projects and will work well under pressure to meet short deadlines.

About Us

The Pepper Pot Centre is a unique Day Centre situated in the heart of Ladbroke Grove which supports over 60s Caribbean, African and other BME communities of Kensington and Chelsea and neighbouring boroughs and is open to all. The Centre opened in 1981 and offers members a range of services in a warm and friendly environment.

We are a meeting place and day centre for older members of the community. Our wide range of activities both inside and outside our centre aim to be culturally sensitive and include the provision of nutritious meals, birthday parties for members, visits to theatres museums and the seaside and much more.

In 1976 & 2006 PPC was visited by the late Queen and by the Duchess of Cornwall in 2020.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic motivated Service Manager to mobilise a brand new service providing support to the travelling community in Essex.  Working in close partnership with the existing Essex Countywide Travellers’ Unit (ECTU), you will lead on developing a high quality service that forges positive relationships within the travelling community alongside key partners and stake holders with the aim of reducing health inequalities, improving outcomes and access to services.

The Role
As a Service Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of a highly performing, County Wide service that makes a tangible difference to the lives of those it works with. You will lead a small team to develop evidence-based services aimed at empowering people within the travelling community to access a wide range of services and sustain positive change. You will have strategic oversight of the service and will liaise directly with the commissioners and partners across Essex to ensure the highest possible standards of services. 

The role will be based in one of our existing offices in the Chelmsford, Colchester, Basildon or Harlow areas.  There can be flexibility around the location, but travel will be required across all areas to ensure effective service delivery.

The Service

The service will cover the County of Essex (excluding Southend and Thurrock) workin in partnership with ECTU to provide enhanced support to individuals and families from the Gypsy, Roma and Travelling communities in Essex across a range of needs (including substance misuse, physical and/or mental health needs, housing, education and employment).  The service will provide broad and flexible outreach, advocacy, signposting and onward referrals (to include accompanying people to appointments) and forge strong links with local partners and services to form a multi-disciplinary network of support.

Previous experience in the field is desirable but not essential. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to the people that use our services

About you

The main purpose of this role is to support the development of the champions network through the development of relationships; exceptional communication; logistical management and administration. You will also support the wider Starlight Team, especially fundraising and marketing, with health professional and family stories that can engage supporters across all media and inspire the public to donate to Starlight. You’ll take the lead on creating opportunities for visits to healthcare settings where possible and appropriate.  You’ll help with the facilitation and delivery of meetings, training sessions and webinars.   You will also contribute to the development of our Health Play Awards, which have rapidly become recognised as the highest accolade for play professionals in healthcare.

MAIN PURPOSES OF THE JOB

The Stella Maris (SM) Regional Port Chaplain will promote the vision, mission and values of SM in caring for all seafarers and fishers by helping to meet their pastoral and spiritual needs. They will recruit, train and support SM staff and volunteers for the port and will maintain good relations with local parishes and the local diocese. They will work ecumenically with members of other Christian maritime societies with whom SM works.

1. To meet the welfare and pastoral needs of all seafarers and fishers equally according to their needs and wishes. To be an advocate on their behalf, upholding the dignity of each. Through regular and frequent ship visiting, to understand the working and living conditions of the seafarer and fishers and be able to work for justice and for the well-being of all crew members without distinction.

2. To address the communication needs of seafarers, providing transport, news, and access to telephone and internet facilities.

3. To address the welfare needs of seafarers and fishers, including support with money transfers, hospitality, and crisis support, e.g. abandonment, injury and death, detainment, bereavement, advice and access to medical care.

4. To meet the ecclesial, spiritual, and sacramental needs of Catholic seafarers and fishers; to facilitate the religious and spiritual needs of others and to be a pastor to all, sharing one’s faith as appropriate.

5. To participate in SM conferences, ongoing formation and other professional courses as required.

6. To supporting seafarer centre functioning.

7. To recruit, train, develop and retain a SM ship visiting volunteering team.

8.  To represent SM on the local Port Welfare Committee(s), to include attending such meetings and submitting reports.

9. To liaise and maintain good working relationships with all port stakeholders, including the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the International Transport Workers’ Federation, port health, harbour masters, dockers, security, and shipping agents.

10.  To work in an ecumenical and multi-faith context by respecting the differing religious and spiritual needs of seafarers drawn from diverse regions throughout the world.

11.  To encourage and support the development of an ecumenical service to seafarers through engagement with our ecumenical colleagues, including the Mission to Seafarers, The Fishermen’s Mission, The Sailors’ Society (to name a few).

13.  To engage with the local press, in particular the local Catholic diocesan press.

Dartington Service Design Lab is an internationally respected social research and design charity focussed on using evidence to help those working with children and young people have a greater impact. We have over 60 years of experience working across the public and voluntary sectors to improve the lives of children and young people.

We are seeking an experienced mixed methods social researcher, with a particular interest and expertise in evaluation. Whilst the role is varied, the primary focus is the formative, developmental and summative evaluation and iterative refinement of a range ofservice-level and place-based and/or systemic change initiatives focused on improving outcomes for children, families and communities. The work involves applying mixed methods and working with an inter-disciplinary team (internally and with collaborating partners).

Approaches will be tailored depending on the needs of each project but are likely to include theory-driven approaches such as theory of change, realistevaluation and contribution analysis alongside experimental or quasi-experimental methods. The candidate need not be expert in all but must have a curiosity and willingness to learn and apply different methods in a range of contexts.

The role is practically applied, varied and fast-paced - leading and contributing to multiple projects, concurrently. It involves working closely with internal and external collaborators, innovating to blend robust research methods with human-centred design and systems thinking approaches. The role

As the Head of Finance and Governance, you will oversee the day-to-day financial activities, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance, while also providing strategic oversight to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of SOAS SU and driving system, quality and process improvements.

About the role

The emergence of nature markets offers the potential for significant private investment in nature restoration in the UK. Plantlife has successfully piloted a model of three-way partnership to deliver financial and technical support to landowners to enable high integrity delivery, coupled with verified outputs and assurance to investors and buyers.
In this rapidly evolving landscape, we now need to accelerate scaling up of this model to deliver nature restoration at pace, scale and in partnership. This role will develop demand side partnerships with decision makers in key sectors – those who have the capacity to drive investment into nature restoration - particularly finance and insurance.

We are recruiting for two Generalist Advisers - one permanent and one fixed term contract for 12 months. The roles are an integral part of the day-to-day delivery of our Advice and Support Service, which has been re-shaped and went live in the summer of 2024. The service is targeted at older people in or facing financial hardship, and provides information, advice and follow up support to older people, their friends, family and professionals.

As a Generalist Adviser you will be responsible for providing advice and support during calls received through the duty line, pre-booked appointments and short term casework.  

You should have knowledge and experience of advising on a wide range of topics, including Welfare Benefits, Housing and Social Care. You should have experience of working within an advice setting and advice supervision framework such as the AQS framework. You will have a warm, supportive and person-centred approach, working alongside individuals in a holistic manner.

Homebased: £29,453 per year, increasing to £30,267 after 6 months (and to £31,054 after 12 months for the permanent role)

The Urban Tree Canopy Trainee will join our Urban Tree Canopy Coordinator at the forefront of involving local communities in our tree-planting & urban greening projects around the Glasgow City Region and engage people in taking action for trees and the environment.

The project will deliver intergenerational, tree-related activities for young people to build their knowledge and learn new skills from environmental professionals and experienced volunteers, mobilising young people to take positive action against climate change.
