The Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre, located in mid-Cornwall, is a Cornish charity providing a place of support, therapy, information, and community for people living with a long-term neurological condition and/or those who are neurodiverse. The Primrose Hydrotherapy Pool facility, which was built in the grounds, opened in 2019, providing both individual and group hydrotherapy sessions. 

Living with a long-term health condition brings many challenges, not just for those diagnosed, but also for family members. Symptoms can affect physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychological health. For our clients who have sensory processing difficulties, due to being neurodivergent, everyday situations and relationships can be perplexing and taxing. 

Our main aims are to improve the health and well-being of our community; help people manage their symptoms and situations; and support their main care giver, often a family member. Services are delivered by a highly experienced team, with a broad range of skills and experience in delivering specialist therapies.

The Role

We are looking for a Community Fundraising Officer who has the key skills to help us raise vital income for our charity.  You will develop and deliver fundraising initiatives through partnerships with local groups, schools, associations and individuals.  This role will also involve delivering fundraising events. Organisation and creativity are essential skills for this role.  

Volunteers are at the heart of our charity, and it is essential our community volunteer base is grown and supported to ensure successful community fundraising in Cornwall. Being friendly, approachable and leading by example are key attributes to the success of this role. 

To devise, plan and support a strong and successful events programme to raise substantial income and awareness across Cornwall, attracting different sections of the community including family members and corporates.

About you 

• To raise and maximise fundraising within the Cornish community 

• Recruit, train and lead a community volunteer base who will be advocates for The Merlin Centre by promoting and fundraising for the charity.

• Attending group, school and community presentations/talks across the county to successfully communicate our charities mission. 

• Attending cheque presentations from individual and community fundraising efforts. 

• Research and identify new community fundraising and promotional activities that are appropriate for the Merlin Centre to take part in. 

• Support with all event planning for the Merlin Centre 

• To assist the Income Generation Team in delivering against their financial and non-financial targets as specified within the Income Generation strategy. 

• Be an outstanding advocate for the Merlin Neurotherapy Centre in line with the core values of the organisation.  

• To act as a spokesperson for the charity when required, including representing at external events as appropriate  

• Attend and support events run by the fundraising teams where required.  

• Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the charity’s work, priorities, future plans and act as a spokesperson for the Charity when required 

• Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as the Business Development Officer with a commercial sales focus. This role requires a unique blend of fundraising expertise and commercial acumen to drive our vision forward. 

Additionally, this role will focus on developing commercial sales strategies to generate revenue through partnerships, sponsorships, and product sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both fundraising and sales, with a proven track record of achieving targets and building lasting relationships.

About you

• Identify, cultivate and manage corporate accounts. Working with the wider Income Generation team, ensure strong stewardship and fulfilment of marketing returns for each corporate account.

• Identify and attend networking meetings to educate and inform local business about our charities aims, missions and objectives, and opportunities for supporting our charity. 

• Seek out new partnerships that could be beneficial to our charity 

• Woking with the Marketing Manager, support in the creation of marketing for engagement, communication, and fulfilment for corporate accounts. 

• In liaison with the marketing manager provide support with social media, creating content for platforms such as LinkedIn. 

• Attend and speak at a variety events to promote the charity and engage with potential corporate accounts 

• Locate and enrol our charity in business incentives i.e. Charity of the Year. 

• Deliver tours of the centre to supporters autonomously. 

• To assist the Income Generation Team in delivering against their financial and non-financial targets as specified within the corporate fundraising strategy. 

• Be an outstanding advocate for the Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre in line with the core values of the organisation.

Estates Maintenance Operative

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans and work with the maintenance team, working to maintain the general condition of the land and National Cycle Network (NCN) around the county of Yorkshire. 

As the Estates Maintenance Operative, you will carry out regular maintenance duties on the path and surrounding owned land, including habitat and vegetation management and general repairs and upkeep to the boundaries and structures. 

You will all liaise with path users, volunteers, neighbours and officers within partner organisations where necessary. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. 

About you 

You should have experience working outside in a paid or voluntary capacity engaging with the public. 

We ask that you ideally have experience of using power tools such as Brush Cutters, Strimmers and Hedge Cutters, and the application of pesticides. 

You will need to have a full clean UK Driving licence for this role as you will be travelling around the region in a Sustrans owned vehicle

About this key role

You will focus on providing comprehensive and holistic assessments, advice, referrals and support to women aged 18 years and above.  This will see you produce support and risk management plans based on assessments, ensuring you create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with clients.

Lyde Green Community Association CIO (LGCA) is a charity that has been set up by residents for the benefit of the community in Lyde Green and the surrounding area. It is run by local volunteers, with the objective of generating community spirit and making Lyde Green a great place to live and visit. As well as organising community events, we support a community partnership that meets regularly to solve problems that matter to residents and help the whole community shape its future.

• Proven experience leading and motivating teams, ideally having managed volunteers, or a retail team previously. 

• A strong understanding of what good looks like in a busy and successful community-led shop, ideally with some experience within Retail or a clear passion for sustainable fashion and knowledge of products and trends.

• A can-do attitude and ability to approach challenges in a positive way, knowing when to reach out for support and guidance where you need it.

A fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in youth facilitation and stakeholder management to join our team as a Programme Coordinator. We have a three-year strategy to increase the number of young people we serve while ensuring we can grow with impact and sustainability. As a Programme Coordinator (PC) you will be at the frontline of our work, working directly with schools and colleges, young people and local businesses to make an impact! You will be responsible for all aspects of programme management and delivery of the Envision programme in a cluster of schools/colleges in your region.

• Programme delivery and facilitating work with young people 

• Programme management and logistics 

• Stakeholder management  

• Impact management  

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Competencies: 

• Experience of facilitating activities with young people – including preparing engaging sessions in advance by utilising resources available to them 

• Experience of project management – highly organised, with the ability to manage your own time to meet deadlines 

• Experience of working on projects which have multiple stakeholders – communicating effectively through written and verbal communication 

• Commitment to Envision’s vision, mission and values and ability to work well in, and contribute to, our organisational culture 

Desirable Experience, Knowledge and Competencies: 

• Experience of data handling – collecting and recording data in a timely manner using an online CRM system 

• Understanding of, and/ or lived experience of, the barriers that young people face, that contribute to the education and employment gap

We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

Citizens Advice in West Sussex (North, South, East) are hiring a number of Outreach Advisors to join our team in West Sussex, giving advice on benefits and other money related problems.

Working in partnership with the local authority and charities, our advisors will work for funded projects, with a mixture of co-location and outreach work so you can work closely and make a difference.  Advising residents on debt options, benefits, negotiating with creditors and supporting with budgets and working with funders to identify clients and interventions which will benefit from the service. May need to do home visiting.

You will need excellent communication skills, enjoy working with people but able to manage a case mix. You will support the development of local volunteers and feed into social policy; building evidence of the impact of your work.  Whilst the ideal candidate will have experience of benefits or debt, training can be provided for the right candidate who can show the skills and attributes or the role.
