About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team as our Office Assistant, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager.

The Office Assistant role within the Facilities team is a key post assisting the Facilities Manager in ensuring that the charity provides a warm welcome to all its employees, visitors and guests, ensuring they experience a safe and comfortable working environment.

Role Overview

You will be integral to achieving our strategic priorities of generating income through repeat support, and providing exceptional supporter journeys for our community, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.

Providing excellent customer care, engaging and involving and inspiring all supporters of Crohn’s and Colitis UK through building excellent relationships via a variety of communication channels. To be integral to achieving strategic Income Generation priorities, including raising funds from supporters through exceptional standards of supporter stewardship, and to deliver administrative support for the Income Generation Team.

About You

You will have experience of working in a similar role, providing a high standard of customer care in a fast-paced environment, handling supporter queries and providing information in a concise and comprehensive manner. You'll need strong written and verbal communication skills to write engaging and inspiring content and messaging, you'll also be skilled at listening and responding to queries appropriately and be comfortable and effective at managing challenging situations.

You will have the ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines whilst taking ownership of problems to find a solution where possible, escalating to a manager where required.

Our Location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home although you will need to be in the office for two days a week minimum. The Samaritans of Manchester and Salford are looking for a part-time Administrator to work in their city centre branch. Manchester and Salford Samaritans is located in Manchester City Centre and is a local branch of the national charity Samaritans.

The Manchester and Salford Branch currently has 180 active volunteers who provide a confidential, non-judgemental listening service round the clock every day of the year. Our callers can contact us on the phone or via email. The branch also supports Listeners in two local prisons.

The purpose of this job is to provide administrative support in the Branch so that the volunteers have what they need to provide the service that supports our callers.
The role will include:

· Responding to emails and enquiries. 
· Completing monthly checks of the building.
· Supporting the Leadership team.
· Managing information and records.

This is an office-based role a part-time post for 15 hours a week working 5 hours for 3 days each week. The role is a job share and is based in our office on Oxford Street in Manchester where volunteers take calls. The working hours will typically be 10am – 3pm. Typically Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to provide consistent support during the week. Approximately once a month there is a requirement to work in the evening for 2 hours to prepare and minute Leadership Meetings. The dates of these evening sessions are known well in advance. On those days any hours worked in the evening are instead of the usual hours earlier in the day.

What you\'ll be doing:

In this role, you will ensure that the public areas of the Headmaster’s and Chief Operating Officer’s houses are well kept at all times. This will involve vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and
general cleaning as well as laundry and ironing as required. You will assist the catering team with any functions in the house including serving and clearing of meals and liaise with other departments such as Estates and Domestic Operations as and when required.
This role is for 20 hours per week, 5 days a week for term time plus 7 weeks during the school holidays.

Due to project expansion Aquarius Young People’s Substance Misuse Team are recruiting for several Complex Needs Practitioners - Substance Misuse across the county.

Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.

You will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools & colleges, the Children and Families service, the YOT as well as other local community agencies. The role will involve:

• supporting young people away from engaging in substance misuse
• providing young people with skills and coping strategies to manage their recovery journey
• delivering 1-1 and some group work interventions
• targeted outreach to engage 'hard-to-reach' young people
• delivery of service talks and substance misuse presentations to enhance external professional workforce development with our partner agencies.

Working hours will be Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week, most work will occur during the day, however as a young people’s service we may occasionally ask you to support out of hours sessional work.

Holding a relevant qualification in substance misuse/youth work/psychology/counselling/ mental health/social care or with relevant experience and willingness to work towards a Level 3 Qualification in Health & Social Care you will also:

• Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable young people in a community setting.
• Be able to deliver behaviour change support, including group work.
• Be knowledgeable about: safeguarding children, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity and Hidden Harm.
